Oh , wow, I'm so flattered! I'm very happy it sounds appealing to you <33 This work is a huge passion project of mine so I'm always glad to talk more and more about it, especially since there are many aspects occurring in the background (such as the alternate fates of the main players of the Trojan Conflict) which I cannot properly cover or even explain within the events of the novel itself.

That said: 1) If you mean tags as in ao3 - unfortunately, this work isn't on ao3 my friend :( As I said above, these are elements and concepts in the greek mythology based-fantasy novel I'm currently writing (the concept of which I outlined here in the introductory post of my novel concept!) As for wanting to read whatever writing I currently have available: I currently have three fics available on ao3 that are written in my Pursuing Daybreak verse!

The Prince and Princess series deal with a young Apollo and Artemis and the many consequences they face after Apollo has slain Python. The two works uploaded right now are Exeunt Phoebus Apollo which covers the murder trial of Python and Manent Apanchomene Artemis which covers the intense feelings of helplessness and alienation Artemis experiences after Apollo returns from his banishment and is completely changed. Both of these have themes of family, grief and relationship exploration at their heart.

The third bit of writing I have up is quite outdated but does cover the immediate aftermath of Hyacinthus' death. It's called A Petal Falleth and features Apollo making one of those Big Silly Decisions that have completely unintended but extremely important consequences: namely, instead of the larkspurs being made of Hyacinthus' spilt blood, Apollo anchors the boy's soul to the flowers so Thanatos wouldn't take him. Like the Dawn is also set in this world but because it is nsfw in nature, I wouldn't recommend it as easily as the other three bits of writing. If you don't mind the whole naked men thing though, I'd definitely suggest reading Like the Dawn for a better idea of what my current writing is like (along with eventually getting to see characters like Hector, Andromache and Cassandra/Helenus) Like the Dawn's themes are also different to the other three works with it focusing more on the power dynamics of a god/mortal relationship, exploring masculinity and masculine sexuality and self discovery.

The running theme here, of course, is that all of these bits of writing are centered on Apollo/Artemis or Hyacinth because my novel itself is centered around them. There are, of course, other important characters and figures like Eros, Psyche, Penthesilea and Iaso (one of Asclepius' daughters) but while there is the definite presence of characters from the Trojan War they most certainly aren't at the center of the novel (and the ones that are aren't the Greeks but rather the Trojans i.e Hector, Alexander, Andromache, Cassandra, Helenus, Aeneas, so on and so forth.)

2) The basis of the apocalypse in my work is cosmological! Due to Apollo's err-- untimely departure, there's no longer anyone maintaining the axis of the heavens or the navel of the earth. Because of this, Erebus - whose darkness is usually kept firmly in the spaces between the realms - begins to spill out into both the heavens and the earth. The beasts of Erebus (referring primarily to the Seven Curses - Old Age, Misery, Deceit, Violence etc etc) consume, torment and destroy whatever is inside of Erebus' darkness and Ithaca, as one of the islands on the far edge of the world, was one of the very first places that were devoured in this manner. Odysseus was visiting the Argives at the time for a festival and had left the pregnant Penelope at home since he didn't want her to suffer through the voyage in discomfort. He only finds out about the destruction of Ithaca after it had already been consumed when Athena personally interrupts a feast to warn both him and Diomedes. Needless to say, Odysseus, like everyone else, assumes that everyone on Ithaca has died and thusly is a very, very different man in terms of humour and comport. A part of him still stubbornly clings to the belief that Penelope managed to escape - that she was smart and resourceful enough to see the end approaching and do her best to escape - but that doesn't stop him from being dour for the majority of the time. Diomedes does his best to keep his spirits up in the meantime. Without him around, Odysseus is something of a black hole when it comes to the oppressiveness of his discontent though he does manage to lighten up when in the company of Helen, Clytemnestra and even Menelaus on occasion.

Roy/Jamie prompt: Phoebe's mum ends up in the hospital with a mild ailment and Roy runs himself ragged trying to take care of everything. when he starts to crack, he tries to hide away and breakdown only two sets of arms, one large, the other small, come around him and hold him tight. Jamie and Phoebe have a bias against their Roy falling apart with no one to pick him back up. Roy realizes Jamie is his family and that he wants him with him in every step of his life from now til the end. Jamie feels the same.

Jamie had been sleeping at Roy’s house for the past two days. Roy looked awful on Thursday. He couldn’t let him keep doing that to himself.

So far Jamie has let Phoebe paint all of his nails. The hot pink glitter toes look killer. The black on his hands nails is something he’s definitely going to do again.

Phoe has been trying to convince Jamie to help her dye her hair. He’s been refusing. That was hours ago. She’s been asleep for a while when Jamie decides to find Roy.

He ends up in front of Roy’s bedroom. He knocks. There’s a noise then Roy opens the door. “Yeah?”

Jamie blinks. Shit Roy has been crying. Jamie grabs him. Doesn’t even think before he does. He pulls Roy into his arms. Roy drops like dead weight. Jamie slides to the ground with him. “It’s okay. I know. It sucks. You’re doing so good though.” There’s a sob.

Suddenly Phoebe is there. She throws herself onto Roy’s back. Holds on so tight. “You okay uncle Roy?” Roy pulls back out of Jamie’s hug. He pulls Phoebe in between them. “Yeah hon. Just got tired.”

Jamie knows what tired means. Overwhelmed. Stressed. Exhausted.

“Alright you two let’s get in that giant bed of Roy’s yeah?” Phoebe hops up. Roy is staring at Jamie like he’s just realized something.

“I think I’m in love with you.”

Jamie slams back on the ground fro where he was trying to help Roy stand. They land on the ground. Phoebe sticks her head over the side of the bed. “Obviously you love him. He’s here with us.”

They can only stare at her. “Mummy says you two deserve each other.”

She flops back into the pillows.

“Love you too. You know.”

Roy thinks maybe he finally lost it. “You’re fucking with me.”

“Money!”

Jamie brushes the tears off of Roy’s face. “Baby why would I fuck with you. I’ve loved you for years. Just took a while for you to catch up.”

Roy shakes his head. “We’ll talk more in the morning. Come on.”

Jamie stares at the bed. “You want me to sleep there too?” Roy pulls Jamie up. He shoves him on the right side. Phoebe in the middle of them. She flops over onto Roy’s chest.

Jamie reaches out and takes Roy’s hand. They’ll talk in the morning.

It’ll be a good morning.

Maybe it was supposed to be like this, the wait of her silence asking unspoken questions while he slowly but surely carved himself open, holding up the pieces for her examination.

"'Cept about ten minutes in, I'm really on a roll, and I'm partway through telling her a story, and she stops and asks me why I said... Christ, I don't even remember now. It was just a joke, but she took it really seriously. Like she was concerned about why I was talking about meself that way." Roy made a noise in his throat. Hoped it communicated 'I'm listening' instead of the futile lack of control that was churning in his stomach.

At nine. He was fucking nine. Phoebe was weeks off from turning nine, and Roy still didn’t trust her to know when to stop eating ice cream before it made her sick. And maybe that was a little unfair to his niece, who had improved a bit on that front--she'd start watching him warily around the second scoop, when she knew he was about to take it away... She was so fucking small. He'd never send her away at nine. But you would if she really wanted to, said the same voice that always let her enjoy the second scoop. If she really wanted to, if she wanted it more than anything in the world... No, the rebuttal hit him in the face like a bucket of of ice water. The truth of it trickled in shivers down his spine. No, I'd move with her.

“Is that tweed?” Jamie asked curiously, and Roy prayed to whatever god would listen to spare the world from Jamie Tartt experimenting with woven fabrics . Isaac rolled his shoulders; the suit jacket whimpered where it circled the bulk of his shoulders. “Sure is. Sustainably sourced, too.” The intrigued glint in Jamie’s eyes warned Roy that sometime soon on a morning run he would be held hostage by a very annoying tangent. Sam, a normal person dressed a stylish blue silken suit, surveyed Isaac's suit thoughtfully. “The tailoring is wonderfully done.” He said nothing about Jamie’s outfit. Smart lad.

Orion dresses sort of like he wants to be Harry Styles but like One Direction Harry Styles with some glitter.

Oliver would dress just in Tshirts and jeans because he's in the back anyway and doesn't really care.

roy kent sick fic. it’s early on in the new season; ted’s dorothy-ed back off to kansas; roy’s in charge of about twenty professional himbos, and he’s just caught the hybrid cold-flu wreaking absolute havoc on phoebe’s school. so, like. fucking obviously he’s gonna ignore it. he’ll be fine. he will be so absolutely fine.

spoiler alert: he is not fine.

essentially this fic is me taking my love for roy kent and my love for stories about characters who point blank refuse to accept love because they believe they’re undeserving of it and frankensteining them together. there will be a gratuitous amount of fucks! there will be phoebe clumsily reading her sick uncle roy a bedtime story! there will be jamie and dani attempting to make chicken soup from the box while sam imprisons roy beneath five weighted blankets! and there will be so much love roy won’t be able to breathe around it. partially due to the congestion. but mostly due to the love.

hi! oh my goodness. i am SO sorry i didn’t say anything earlier. i did read everything a couple days ago, and i Have been chewing on it, rotating it in my mind, etc etc…..and the graphic has been my phone lockscreen since i first read it!!!!!

frankly i am obsessed and have also been a little frazzled this month lol. saw your post late because of the general whirlwind that is december and then couldn’t quite get my thoughts into sufficient words n got worried “oh no would it be weird to say something now…..” which is incredibly silly in retrospect, so sorry for that. 

i’m relatively new to hockey fandom and the Narratives don’t always quite click for me (yet, at least :)) because i don’t know all of the lore for a lot of the popular pairings haha, so it means a lot that you’ve taken time out of your day to break things down for me and share your own thoughts <3 tysm. again, super sorry for the delayed response. i’m very sorry if you felt as though you’d wasted your time or something along those lines :’) just wanted to let you know that i really appreciate you and the time it took you to get everything down and make the graphic!!!! and like i can’t overstate how much your tags both over here and on your other blog have helped me to Get It since the start of this season, so thank you.

maybe having the friendship end subtly. going from playing and traveling together and living in one another’s pockets to 2,080 miles of distance? (i may have my timeline/details confused here so sorry in advance) texting as much as you can at first but he’s a phenom he’s mcjesus he’s the next in line he’s expected to win the cup with his new team and end the drought for Canada. and they have him now but he was yours first, wasn’t he? but it’s fine. because you’re busy too. you’re captaining the team now. you’re gonna get the memorial cup that he couldn’t. it’s fine. you’re fine. you don’t even have time to worry about it anyway. 

one conversation a week turns to one a month turns to once in a blue moon turns to stale words until it goes cold. these days you can’t quite seem to remember who ended things, but does it really matter all that much now?

or maybe it doesn’t end like that at all. maybe it ends in a flurry of angry words and digs in some or other of the endless hotel rooms you’ve shared together over the years. who knows!

and that’s not even getting into the rest of the 2015 draft class. or the ld19 of it all! ooh hoo hoo. you grew up with him but he’s not your waiting room. he grew up with you but he’ll grow “old” (end his career) with someone else. and isn’t that just something!

Not Phoebe. Phoebe, so far, has shown herself to be far different from most children. Unique. And gentle. Curious, too.

It's a nice chance of pace.

Kneeling down to meet her level and eventually sit on his knees, Connor tenderly wraps his arms around the young girl, and pulls her close to his chest.

And for a few seconds, minutes, or however long young Phoebe decided to hug Connor, the negative and wretched self loathing thoughts that came with his cruel existence went silent.

based on the stories she heard growing up, she believes that souls are returned to a general spiritual life-force of the community around them (and maybe the thing that eats their corpse? or the earth? she’s not an expert, she just stabs things). Someone especially lonely or angry might not be willing/able to rejoin into one of the greater spirits so they become a ghost when they die, losing their memories and personality as time goes on until all that’s left is that loneliness or anger (or hate or etc), which they’ll take out on the world around them with their undead spirit powers.

so she's not afraid of upsetting ghosts, they're upset by nature, but she would be afraid of running into one (or what she thinks is a ghost, anyway)

I wrote most of this several hours ago and just barely edited it lol so hope it makes sense! Added some spaces which probably doesn’t help a whole lot lol it’s… very long. Thanks for asking!!!! You don’t have to read it all hshbdnnrns

This one is actually probably p nonviolent bc I don’t think this is a very controversial take round these parts! But definitely all of Finn’s romantic plot lines. I can sort of make an argument abt how they reflect the part of his character that’s really invested in the fairytale idea of being a hero which implies being the romantic lead

(I lean toward hcing him as aroace but don’t feel super strongly abt it, but that or gay or otherwise not into women also adds a comphet element— regardless it’s an interesting parallel with lots of characters but in particular Bonnie, who very clearly has lived her life according to rules she gathered and interpreted about who and what a princess is AND what a girl is. Very gendered so for Finn there’s a bit of toxic masculinity involved in his romantic pursuits and also his inclination toward violence in the earlier seasons. Plus the whole overarching theme of rebuilding society post-post-apocalypse and most of the characters kind of forcing themselves into a mold using what they know and don’t know about past societies combined with how their own has interacted w them.

Comphet also obviously parallel with Bonnie continuing to call Mr. CP her boyfriend etc etc etc, but also maybe more relevant— I hc Marceline as bi so I dont think being attracted to men is compulsory for her but still think heteronormativity is very relevant to her story & I think the same would be true for Finn regardless of orientation. Actually very similar for both of them subconsciously recreating heteronormative relationships which are so reflective of their own specific family structures— Marcy drawn to the Hunson in Ash and dare I say the Simon and the Betty AND the Elise in Bonnie? + Finn drawn to both the Minerva and the Margaret in Bonnie and FP and, to an extent, HW too. Caregivers who are also leaders and answer to no one. HW is a little less officially this but I’d argue that as a female character heavily associated with both nature and protection she is inherently at least a little bit mom-adjacent-coded or something idk what I’m saying but yeah that! Digression lol.)

BUT way overdone even if that was the intention. A lot of that time could’ve been spent on him and Jake and BMO doing silly shit or like expanding on his relationships with Jermaine and Margaret and Joshua and Fern and the humans etc etc. and/or more depth for the love interests themselves. Ofc I always want more Bonnie and there’s a lot more to dig into with FP (and the two of them together for that matter!) & also HW has such a cool design and she’s interesting but I feel like I don’t know much about her and had she and Finn had a different relationship there may have been more room for her to develop. It feels like fan service though I’m guessing now it’s not actually in service of most ppl who are still really big fans. Maybe more so network service lol.

Also sad that some of those songs (all gummed up slaps too hard) and episodes are really good/funny imo I wish they were about something else 😭 (too young is extremely important to me I refuse to discount it but I obvs understand why a lot of ppl want to it’s super frustrating/disappointing.)
