btw thanks to a friend that was so kind to lend me her rain code copy (tysm arisa if you see this) I've been able to play it - im currently on the mystery labyrinth of ch2, so here's some impressions of the game under the cut (mind the spoilers) (and also dont send spoilers ty)

Love the visuals of the game! I think the 3d is implemented really well and the setting of Kanai Ward is really fun - I just wish there was a pc port because the switch hardware is just. man. I wish I could see everything in HD instead of 380p but it might just be the switch lite lmao

I like shinigami's magical esque's sequences I just hate that they reduced the utena reference to another sex joke. cant have shit in kanai ward

speaking of references, I do like the danganronpa easter eggs but I liked the ace attorney stepladder one even more

I also really like shinigami I just wish she would shut up sometimes

prologue was the strongest part of the game so far, MAYBE because it is reminescent of the 'locked place' murders in dr, maybe because everyone gets wasted, i dunno, it was just really fun

ch1 completely lacked what I'd call the emotional component that usually makes games like AA and DR stand out to me - ie I don't have any strong attachment to the victim or the accused, so I feel like I'm just solving puzzles. the puzzle part was still fun tho, and Halara is a great character

ch2 kinda fixed that emotional component with the girl-I-cant-remember-her-name-sorry that you spend time with before the second murder happens

ch2 also felt really fun from a campy perspective, with the disguise stuff going on!! (I do wish shinigami would stop calling yuma a pervert for trying to investigate a murder while dressed as a girl tho)

I do like chief yakou, he's cool in that very pathetic sad man kinda way

I really really love the sprite work, it's SO fun to look at the character's expressions,,, I also love desuhiko's goofy design, it's so fun

you can really feel the budget behind this one, unlike WEC that was just,,, a pain both gameplay wise and story wise, unfortunately 😔 I'm still sad it didnt turn out as good as I wanted it to be

"Trinkets" by Sapphin3 has a very interesting idea; I do enjoy people exploring how those who died in the killing game might react to the consequences of their untimely deaths, (and "Touch starved" is a short but very sweet look at some Taka/Hiro step-bro interactions) A+!

OH! I've read the first few chapters of "The Problem with Perfection" by DracotheDeathEatingCupcake, and I'm really digging the exploration of Taka as less self-assured, dealing with the anxiety caused by the constant pressure of the expectation he's under. It's got such a strong narrative voice, you really feel the stress and insecurities that Taka is fighting with, and the ending of ch.1 OOF what a GUT-PUNCH!

I've not read Killer Killer, but as a concept; a serial killer targeting serial killers is sincerely REALLY COOL, kinda like the whole 'Sparkling Justice' background character from SDR2, and more Mukuro is always appreciated. . . Though I do feel it'd work perfectly well as a stand-alone concept, outside of the Dangan universe, I might check it out.

I think Avatar is a good show! I watched it a lot when I was younger, as it had a ton of re-runs on terrestrial tv. The world concept and building is excellent, and it works so well with how the plot requires a world spanning journey. The characters all have real rapport, and genuine growth across the series, all wrapped up in gorgeous animation, trés bien. In general I tend to gravitate towards more 'sci fi' concepts than 'fantasy/swords and sorcery' ones, so avatar is certainly an outlier there.

In general I'd have liked to have seen more one piece swimming costumes (like Komaru's from the promo image) for the sportier/shyer girls, and more abs on our strong women which is what they deserve damn it!

However, there does seem to be some thought put into matching the characters personalities which was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Sakura, Korekiyo, Chihiro and Kiibo's are PEAK; tho' I wish Sonia had kept her wetsuit, plus we were robbed of Kazuichi and Hajime's matching camo speedos, which would've upped our disappointing speedo count from 2 to a slightly better 4 It would've been hilarious if Celeste had remained fully clothed the whole time.

Basic math kyunki ye aa gaya tho you will get through mechanics (1) without any tears. Basic math mein mainly you need a grasp of how graphs work and how claculus works(ik you are already good at that)

gravitation or electrostatics. If you do any one of them then the other is already covered. They have similar formulas and theory. (I personally think electrostatics is easier but maybe thats because i had covered it first)

Ray Optics. This chapter is dhokhebaaz. why? you will be good at it no doubt but let me see if you will be just that good after 2 weeks. Touch this chapter only the week before exam. It has some basic formulas which will be used aise hi in the question.

YDSE. Again, one diagram, few formulas, done.

Math

Algebra needs thora sa practice but once you have that covered, no one can stop you. Jyada nahi, try 50 questions from each of the topics, might take time but uske baad you won't have to give it too much time.

Coordinate geometry. Straight lines aata hai? tho ho jayega. for curves mostly they will have the tangent/ normal questions. Replace x^2 with x(x1) and x with [x+(x1)]/2 (same for y) for literally any case, where x1 and y1 are points son the tangent aur hogaya kaam. Substitute questions in answer and answers in question. Solve kaun karta hai pfft

trigo is imp kyunki eventually its needed for claculus also. Give it thora sa time. Moslty sum of angles and other derived formula.

Chem

Nomenclature pe time waste mat karo

physical:

Volumetric has like, 2 formulas but a vast variation of questions. Peroxide is a pain in the ass tho i think ncert has a chapert on hydrogen alag se. go through that.

PV=nRT. Use this EVERYWHERE you can. and try taking R as 1/12 to make things easier kabhi kabhi

Thermo is needed for both chem and physics. I did it with chem because it was more detailed and had more precise formulas. Something looks sus? Adiabtic hai. Adiabatic has its own set of formulas tho do them.

Inorganic

Metallurgy always has atleast one question from that process wala part tho go through that

Hybridisation. Bhai ill send you this table i once made and it makes finding the hybridization of EVERYTHING a peice of cake.

there is a trend with reactions. Usually the questions are related to bezene being a sussy baka or someone being assaulted by a dehydrating agent

cyan wtf how i am supposed to respond to this??? 😭 we've been writing together for almost three years and it still boggles my mind how that's happened, where'd the time go, but also how you've stuck by my side thru all of it.... it means so much to me, how you're always game for whatever idea/character i throw your way and i've looked at some of my old character concepts and they are yikes JFKSLDJF ANYWAYS, i've always admired your writing and character development skills- it's inspiring really to see, how much thought you put into ray's character and his character arc and i love how we get to see him in different points of his life and to track his evolution!! honestly, i think writing with you is one of the best things that's happened to me on this hellsite...for one thing, i think it pushed me to not only get better at character developing but also it made me really want to improve my own writing skills!!

I CAN'T 🐝lieve u remembered that about suki's initial concept tho 😂 i think i originally had her with a snake...but those were interesting times back then, 2019 sjflks honestly i had her concept for so long, but until feb. 2021 i felt like i could never properly execute suki's concept....adding the burn scars and then giving her the origami quirk really helped solidify her as a character. it's actually funny you mention that, bc i felt like a lot of my character concepts back then were a bit too serious for my liking so for suki, i wanted to give her a characteristic that could be played around with without necessarily always having to relate back sad backstory... BUT ALSO I HAVE TO THANK YOU AS WELL!! without your encouragement, i don't think i could've set her backstory straight specifically with why the origami killer would have targeted her parents in particular 😂

and yes...it's definitely been a process with finding where i'd be most comfortable in the rpc. but when i was in hiatus, i do remember checking up on your blog every now and then just to see what you and ray were up to. that and i always had a thought in the back of my mind that if i ever came back, i'd definitely reach out to you and one of my favorite detectives again!! i absolutely adore all of the dynamics we have going on and i can't wait to see where they all go- again thank you so much for just, well everything and here's to many more years of writing and chaos!! care you very much ❤️

HIIII IIII PLAYEDDD JAKES HALLOWEEN NIIIIGHT AND IT WAS AMAZINGGGGG Oh my god i loved all of it, his expressions, his derpy fullbody art at the menu, it was rly cool tos ee the items we pick up on the menu screen!!! Hello! Thank you very much for playing JHN! And sending a message, I haven't heard many reactions (aside from the couple youtube gameplays) so it's always nice to hear some more.

Some questions surrounding Jake will be answered once day :) But for now, I'm happy to hear some details I thought would go unnoticed, didn't.

As a side note, as an indie dev I encourage you (and everyone else) to not skip the Credits!

We indie devs work really hard in our games, sometimes with very small teams or on our own, so it's kind of sad when we see people just quickly dismiss the credits especially when it's a free game, and even more when the credits show you the end of the game. Its like reading a book and closing it the chapter before the last one.

Not saying that Big company game devs don't work hard on their games, it's cool to watch those credits too.

Plus you never know what you could be missing at said credits! I always try to make them at least a bit more interesting than a black background, and I have a tendency to leave small secrets or extras at the end.

But yeah that's that on that. Again thank you for playing!
