I try to live by these words. I find joy in the little things because some days you don't get much. That way, I'm almost always happy. Little things can make a huge difference. There are a lot of things in the world that one can find to make them happy. I take the time to look for those things, and it works very well. Take the time. Find the things that bring you joy. It's worth discovering. They are everywhere. You just have to look. 😁🤗😊😍 Find the joy. Be the joy. Revel in the joy. You deserve to be happy 😊 😃 😀 😄 😁
“Be happy for no reason, like a child. If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken from you.”

Do you know why Indians in particular (and I suppose, new age spiritualists) believe in things like homeopathy or ayurveda(like ashwagandha)? I've always found it so odd, even growing up in india. It's clear that some of these beliefs are marketing schemes, like saying A2 (Indian cows) milk > A1(foreign cows) to the point that they sell A2 cow milk and butter at 10x-20x the price of A1 cow milk. All because of "Vedic" practices (prayers and conducting rituals) of cow rearing. We know that ayurveda especially has no clinical or empirical evidence. It's all anecdotal. But even I was taught to believe that turmeric is a good antioxidant and is great for colds. In reality, only about 2% of turmeric is absorbed by your body. Are indians just more gullible because of Hinduism or is it just willful ignorance because they want to feel some sort of superiority in their spirituality?
Lots of love, thank you for continuing to post!! 💛💛 Hope you're doing well.
A big chunk of it may well be the lack of penetration of criticism and mockery of these superstitions, both for cultural and language reasons.
There's a saying that "sunlight is the best disinfectant." This isn't literally true, it's a metaphor for the notion that exposing ideas to the light of scrutiny, examination and refutation helps to break down and destroy false or bad ideas.
To some extent, the persistence of these superstitions may be that they've not been well exposed to public view to the extent many others have been.
Islam has in its doctrine, the curative and medicinal properties of camel urine. To the extent it's packaged and sold as medicine in the present day solely because in multiple hadiths, Muhammad prescribed camel urine for ailments. People don't know about this, don't believe it or start making excuses about "natural remedies" and the limitations of "western medicine." Even while the World Health Organization calls for people to stop drinking it.
Outside India, there's a certain anti-western chauvinism, coupled with a fetishization of "exotic" cultures. Which is really just the Appeal to Nature and Appeal to Tradition fallacies. But are ripe to be exploited by con artists (e.g. Deepak Chopra) for sale to the credulous who mistake their trendy credulity for "open mindedness." Even though the same people would never be so gullible about superstitions based on Xian mythology.
What this means is that a protective bubble forms around these superstitions because attacking primitive, superstitious nonsense hogwash becomes a "racist" attack on a "culture." You're allowed to - and encouraged to - criticize and attack Xian faith-healing, but not Hindu faith-healing because that's just intolerant of a "culture." Note that this means they want Indian culture to be mired in primitive superstitions.
Internal to India, I think a big part is just that it's so dominant and there isn't the tradition of secularism - separation of church/religion and state - which means religious faith holds more sway. Coupled with more explicit moves in recent years to mirror Islam in offence and fragility regarding "blasphemy" - see the whole "Sexy Kali" thing, for example.
In contrast, in the US, there's been legal challenges mounted against homeopathy as fraud and false advertising under consumer protection laws. If there's no evidence of efficacy, government safety organizations in countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand either don't allow a product to be sold as "medicinal," or don't allow it to be sold at all.
I don't know enough about Indian law to know how robust Indian safety or consumer laws are in terms of leveraging them to call out the same kinds of fraud, but what you're saying about the milk suggests they might not be. It's essentially a claim of "magic milk," given there could be no scientific test that such a claim could survive.
So, there's this absence of pressure from both internal and external. And as we know from evolution, it's pressure which drives change.
People need to be willing to treat Indian and Hindu superstitions the same as they treat Xian superstitions and other unscientific bunk, rejecting attacks on the basis of "racism" or "blasphemy" or "intolerance" or all the usual shit. But I think there also needs to be avenues culturally and legally within India to start challenging the assertions being made. I don't know enough about Indian society or culture to know how much of a superiority complex may be at play, but there is likely an element of ignorance, not necessarily wilful, just regular old ignorance, because of the pervasiveness and persistence of these ideas.
Of course, people are still free to believe stupid shit. But that doesn't mean it should get special, elevated status or be allowed to commit acts of rampant fraud.

【Happy thanksgiving - The Prelude for 'gobble of turkey' I made a fun DIY works, with driftwood, lobster shells from Maine, stones and leather】
That day, in the very cold morning, I took a walk to the wetland river to say good morning to the river. On the way I found a piece of driftwood that was starting to rot, but its shape immediately conjured up images of turkeys in my mind, and I got pretty excited and started fixing to creat it.

Satan's Trauma: Fear (Existential)
I've decided to call this my "Trauma" series!
Recently, I made a post about each brother forming a person from their pain and emotions, just like how Lucifer made Satan. Honestly, I've been inspired to write this for Satan for awhile, as far back as when I wrote the Bad End to MC's Birth with Satan's child (which, along with the Good End, can be found here)
For this post, I wanted to share an excerpt from the story.
The Avatar of Wrath learned the true meaning of his title, thanks to his daughter. Years ago when MC carried her, Satan learned that underneath all of her anger was pain and fear. Through this, he learned the same for himself. Satan was created by the anger Lucifer felt at his Father's decisions and his sister leaving his life the way she did. He was so overwhelmed by it all though he never looked close enough to see the real emotions that he was feeling. Pain and fear. The first brother just wanted to get rid of it all now. Because of that, Satan never knew before what his anger really was. But now he does and that was what his daughter taught him.
In such a world where his daughter Amelie exists, I don't think Satan would go through what I am about to write. In a way, his daughter saved him in that timeline. Without her though, his pain just grows and grows in this timeline.
This is also a series where I likely never mention MC or have them as an active character. I haven't decided whether they'll exist in this timeline or not. If she does though, just imagine that regardless of her attempts at help, Satan (and the other brothers in their own parts) relapse hard.
But anyway! That's all I wanted to say so please enjoy

"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." ~ George Lucas
"If you try to get rid of fear and anger without knowing their meaning, they will grow stronger and return." ~ Deepak Chopra
~
No. This isn't happening.
The man was still frantically searching book to book, trying to find the answer to stop what was happening to him. He practically emptied the Royal Library trying to find something, anything to stop this.
And he was running out of time.
As the pain increased in his chest and stomach, the blonde was gasping for air. His breath hitched in response to the spell on the page.
That's it.
The man released a deep of moan of pain, sweating heavily as his skin was forcibly stretch. He was seeing colors in his vision, but he knew he couldn't stop now.
"V-Vicis...sim," He choked out the spell as he made the mistake of looking down. His whole torso was covered in red and purple marks as his green magic pulsed around his body. "Dolor ab--intus."
The man could hardly stand now as he leaned against his bed. He panted, tears in his eyes as the magick faded, but the pain stayed, ripping through him as if this was going to be his final moments.
But they weren't. And that's what scared this demon the most. He was terrified of what was coming next, of what he couldn't let happen.
I can't...No. Not like him. Please.
But no inner pleading could stop what a spell could not. The man released a deep scream, as if his screeches could release him from his agony, from the mistake brewing inside. Nothing could though.
"Satan!"
Someone bursted into his room. The tortured man tried to turn to see who was but only managed to stumble back and fall. Or almost fall.
From within his arms, Satan looked up with his fading vision up into Lucifer's face, who held a look more panicked than the blonde ever thought he would see on the other man's face.
Darkness overtook him just as the sharpest pain of his life cut through his abdomen.
~
When Satan drifted back to consciousness, he didn't register a single thing. Not that he was in his bed and in new clothes. Not the deep physical ache in his torso or the rather large, colorful, and sensitive scar now on across it, from the bottom of his ribs to the beginning of his pelvis.
He laid there in a fog for innumerable minutes before he started to have any clear connections with his body. Even the slightest muscle twitch caused the soreness to worsen, but it was much better than what he had gone through before he passed out.
Slowly, thoughts of before started trickling in. He laid his hand over his scarred abdomen. His didn't care about the scarring. He cared that it was empty.
With great difficulty, the man raised himself out of bed. Keeping a hand on the walls or furniture, he was able to get himself to the other side of the room and out the door.
Eventually, he ran out of wall in the hallway to keep him up when he got to the stairs. He tried to keep his balance long enough to grab the railing. And failed. The blonde fell on his side and slid down the stairs till he hit the wall at the landing.
He didn't move; he just laid on the stairs as his exhausted mind kept repeating the same thought.
I need...to find them.
"-tan. Satan."
He finally realized someone was calling to him when he was raised up from the floor. It wasn't till he was carried away from the stairs, out of the entry way, and brought to some couch before he realized it was Lucifer once again.
He looked up at the hovering man.
"Where...where are they?" He mumbled. "I screwed...I screwed up."
Satan knew what was happening to him; he knew it long before the physical pain came to rip through his body. He tried to find info about his condition, a potion or spell to reverse it or at least stop his progress. The spell he found would have helped if he had found it sooner. He knew for weeks what was happening and he fought it on his own. He had to handle this. He didn't want to ask Lucifer for help and now his worse nightmare has brought itself to life.
"You need to rest." Lucifer told him. "They're fine now just--"
"GIVE THEM BACK." He snarled, voice sounding more feral than Lucifer had ever heard from him. His eyes glowed as he stared down the man who made him.
The older man stared back, eyes wide. He thought for a moment before nodding.
"Alright. Just don't get up and I'll bring them to you."
When Lucifer was out of sight, Satan's eyes dimmed and his head hung. He knew what he was about to see and he hated it. But he had to see. It was his fault after all.
He lifted his heavy body off the couch and managed to trudge over to the archway. He leaned against the wall as he waited. And the wait ended far too soon.
Satan heard Lucifer's footsteps before he saw him. The younger man's heart thumped all too loudly in his chest at the sound. That's when he saw them.
Lucifer entered holding a baby, clothed and wrapped in a green blanket the blonde used to know. His breathing stopped as he watched them. The baby had a tuft of hair that the blonde man could only describe as an ombre of ash with some dark patches speckled in. Though asleep, Satan could still see dry tears and snot stained on their face. Worse of all, he heard whimpers. Even when asleep, that babe felt all of the pain that he had transferred to them.
Without a thought and without even realizing he was moving until he heard glass shatter, the man turned and punched the cabinet next him, causing blood to slide down his hand and the baby to scream at the top of their lungs.
"Satan, thats enough." Lucifer grabbed him by his other arm and dragged him to the couch.
The wrath demon just stared down at his bleeding hand, all energy within him gone once again.
Lucifer didn't try to calm down the baby in his arms. He's learned from the days (yes, days) that Satan had been passed out that this baby cries every waking moment no matter what you do; it's just the nature of this baby because of how it was born.
Instead, Lucifer held them in one arm while he used his free hand to take Satan's. Magical energy flowed from the pride demon's hand into the other's. Cuts healed, bits of glass fell out, and the blood slowly disappeared.
The two said nothing for a long time. Just sat next to each other as the baby cried. Despite knowing the fruitlessness of it, the oldest rocked them and tried give them some comfort.
"Give them to me." Satan raised his head and reached out for his child.
His child...
Lucifer pursed his lips, but still passed the baby over.
Once in Satan's arms, the baby quieted down just a bit. Still crying, but mostly sniffling.
Silence hung around them till finally--
"I should have came to you." The blonde admitted, though even in this state, those words felt like poison on his tongue.
"Then why didn't you? How long did you know this was developing?"
"It doesn't matter; what matter is that I screwed up and..." His words died out as he looked down into his baby's grey-green eyes.
He couldn't look away from them, away from the mistake he made. Yes, mistake. This child was a mistake. But not in the way you might be thinking.
This had nothing to do with Satan not liking kids. Hell, he couldn't care less about that aspect of himself right now. It was how this child came to be. As someone who was born exactly the same way, this man knew all too clearly what he had done.
When Satan was born, he took all of Lucifer's anger and pain related to his Father and sister. Because of this, from the very second he exist, he had to feel that torture, feel that pain for a long time. It was only sometime recently (by demon standards) that he finally developed more to himself than all of the pain Lucifer gave him that even the older man couldn't handle.
He always hated Lucifer for doing this to him, for creating him just to feel the pain he didn't want. But now...if nothing more, Satan understood better; he understood just how easily this can happen without your consent.
This child in his arms is a mistake because Satan himself never ever wanted to created a being to suffer his own pain for him. But that what has happened.
"Satan." Lucifer called him away from his thoughts. "Just what were you repressing that caused this--"
"That's none of your business." He snapped.
"If you keep letting it control you, it will only happen again." The pride demon raised his voice.
The blonde turned away, refusing to say another word.
Lucifer sighed.
"You said you wished you had turned to me before." He reminded him. "Well, turn to me now."
Satan sighed a similar sigh to the other man's. He turned toward the other demon once more, but kept his eyes on his child, who somehow fell asleep in his arms.
"I wanted to be someone, to feel like a person." He began. "Because what am I? Who am I? Am I really just myself? Am I you? Just a part of you that you threw away? Then what do I do? Where do I belong in this life? You're spot has been long taken."
These are questions that Satan has long carried within him. Part of why he was always reading and learning things is because he once heard the saying 'knowledge is power'. He thought if he knew enough, he could carve out a place for himself in this world and no longer be afraid of his own existence. But it wasn't enough; it was never enough.
"Satan, you are my son--" The blonde scoffed, but his father pressed on. "And I know you don't like hearing it. You don't like hearing that you have anything to do with me, but coming from me doesn't mean you are me. I have never once saw you in that light. You are your own person who can do whatever you wish with your life."
Satan closed his eyes. He didn't want to think about this, he didn't want to be a part of this. He just didn't want this to be happening at all.
Lucifer put his hand on his shoulder. Satan tensed up, but didn't push him away.
"As for where you belong..." Lucifer gave his shoulder a light squeeze. "It's here. We're your family. My brothers and I are you family and I've never doubt that you were meant to be with us."
The blonde's body relaxed a bit. Still, he didn't feel okay.
"But...I still feel empty. What do I do with that feeling?"
"You fill it with things that make you happy. You build yourself in the space you originally lost from your fear."
"And what do I do about them?" Satan nodded towards the baby.
"That is for you to decide." Lucifer answered. "But I will support you no matter what."

MASTER LOVE'S VIBRATION HOW TO ACTUALLY MANIFEST MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS. "Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies." - Aristotle The force of Love isn't merely an emotion. It's a potent vibration that echoes through-out the Universe. When we tap into the essence of Love, we unveil its magical properties granting us the power to craft dream-like relationships. Every individual, unbeknownst to them, emits an energy that aligns with the internal state. When the heart brims with Love, the vibrational frequency, it emanates, become magnetic. This magnetism doesn't only pull towards oneself, the ideal relationship is also refines the existing ones turning them into harmonious connections. "That feeling is a Secret. If you venture into the depth of this statement, you'll unearth its inherent Truth." - Neville Godard When one feels loved, loved deep within one starts manifesting relationships rooted in mutual respect, understanding, and intimacy. The Universe, like a Grand Symphony, responds to the notes of our heart.
"We attract what we are." - Dr. Wayne Dyer (Seminal Teachings: Often illustrated the concept that we don't attract what we want.) If you are fostering feelings of lack or resentment, the External World mirrors it in your relationships. On the other hand, when your core resonates with LOVE, the World reciprocates with partnerships filled with tenderness and joy. Consider the analogy of radio frequency, if you tune in the frequency of love, the songs of affections, warmth, and camaraderie will play in the theater of your life.
"Following one's bliss." - Joseph Campbell When you intertwine this bliss with Love, you are met with relationships that don't merely satisfy but elevate your spirit. However, vibrating with Love, isn't just awaiting a grand romantic gesture or discovering an idyllic partner. It begins with an intimate love affair with oneself.
"What you seek, is seeking you." - The Sage Rumi (Poet) When you start embracing your imperfections, celebrating your achievements, and loving the entirety of your being, you set a precedent for others to love you in the same magnitude. Yet, many individuals falter entrapped in the web of heartbreaks, letting past betrayals dictate their present. In such instances, it's pivotal to remember the teachings of Louise Hay who championed the Power of Affirmations by regularly affirming the line: "I am Love. I am worthy of love. And I attract loving relationships." You dissolve past wounds and clear the path for future love-filled engagements.
"When you release Love into the Ether, it doesn't dissipate but amplifies returning to you manifold." - Deepak Chopra beautifully articulates; (The Universe thrives on the Law of Reciprocity) This is not just a metaphysical principle but a testament experienced by countless individuals who has chose Love over bitterness, compassion over judgement. But how close one practically vibrate with Love in a World filled with skepticism and cynicism??? It begins with daily rituals. Starting your day with gratitude. For example, align your spirit with positivity. Its not just about being thankful for significant life events but, cherishing minor moments, a stranger's smile, a child's laugh, or the gently rustling of leaves. Practicing mindfulness & meditation where you center yourself in love can immensely elevate your frequency. Visualize your Heart as a radiant sun. Its ray filled with Love, extending and touching every soul in every corner of the World. Feel this Love returning to you like the ocean waves gently caressing the shore. Embracing acts of kindness WITHOUT EXPECTING reciprocations is another potent tool whether its aiding someone in need, lending an ear to a friend, or simply spreading cheer. These acts magnify the Love Vibrations within Yours. Remember, every individual you met is fighting a battle you know nothing of. By choosing Love, by vibrating at its frequency, you not only uplift your soul, but also brightens someone else's day. Your kind words or merely presence could be the sanctuary they've been yearning for.
"By aligning with love, you're not only attract ideal relationships, but experience a life brimming with miracles." - Esther Hicks (Channeling the wisdom of Abraham often emphasize the Importance of Alignment) Love isn't restricted. It's vast, encompassing friendships, familial bonds, and also relationships with pets and natures. "Being deeply loved gives you strength. Loving deeply gives you courage. When you vibrate with love, not only do you become a beacon of Hope and Warmth but you also harness the Bravery to face life's adventure and adversities." - Lasu Love isn't merely an emotion- it's your shield, your guiding star, your magic.
In conclusion, as you transverse through life's Myriad Paths, let Love be your Compass. Immerse in its magic. Vibrate in its frequency. And you'll manifest relationships that are not just fulfilling but DIVINE. Love has the alchemy to transform the mundane into the extraordinary. So wear it. Radiate it. And Let it's magic envelop your being. Drawing toward you, the dream relationships- you've always desired.
Embodying Love doesn't mean an absence of challenges... but with Love- as your anchor, even storms turn into melodies. When you vibrate with Love, Magic doesn't just happen... -It becomes your very essence.

10 nuggets of timeless wisdom to carry into 2024
To help you navigate the new year with grace, here are 10 timeless nuggets of wisdom to carry into 2024:
+++
"The best way to predict your future is to create it not from the known, but from the unknown. When you get uncomfortable in the place of the unknown - that's where the magic happens." -Dr. Joe Dispenza
+++
"The enlightened give thanks for what most people take for granted. As you begin to be grateful for what most people take for granted, that vibration of gratitude makes you more receptive to good in your life." -Rev. Michael Beckwith
+++
"It's very important that we re-learn the art of resting and relaxing. Not only does it help prevent the onset of many illnesses that develop through chronic tension and worrying; it allows us to clear our minds, focus, and find creative solutions to problems." - Thich Nhat Hanh
+++
"The wound is the place where the Light enters you." -Rumi
+++
"Letting there be room for not knowing is the most important thing of all. When there's a big disappointment, we don't know if that's the end of the story. It may just be the beginning of a great adventure." -Pema Chodron
+++
"The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows." -Buddha
+++
"If we are holding back from any part of our experience, if our heart shuts out any part of who we are and what we feel, we are fueling the fears and feelings of separation that sustain the trance of unworthiness. Radical Acceptance directly dismantles the very foundations of this trance." -Tara Brach
+++
"Empty your mind of all thoughts.
Let your heart be at peace.
Watch the turmoil of beings,
but contemplate their return.
Each separate being in the universe
returns to the common source.
Returning to the source is serenity."
-Lao Tzu
+++
"The universe has an abundance of energy that can enhance and multiply our enjoyment of life. All that we need to do is to be connected to the source." - Mantak Chia
+++
"Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future." -Deepak Chopra
+++
As you read through this list, we encourage you to read each wisdom quote aloud, sit with it, and take what resonates with you into the new year.
Wishing you a peaceful and Qi-filled 2024,

"The Earthing Movie: The Remarkable Science of Grounding" is directed by Sundance Award-Winning filmmakers Josh and Rebecca Tickell (The Big Fix, FUEL, etc). This is a feature-length documentary based on their viral short film entitled 'Down To Earth,' that reveals the scientific phenomenon of how we can heal our bodies by doing the simplest thing that a person can do…standing barefoot on the earth.
The winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at Dances With Films Festival, the film shares the Tickell family's journey with the healing power of grounding, aka earthing, and the people they met and learned from along the way; featuring grounding pioneer Clint Ober, author Deepak Chopra M.D., actress/activist Amy Smart, author/activist Mariel Hemingway, cardiologist Dr. Stephen Sinatra, renowned healer Dr Joseph Mercola, engineer and physicist Gaetan Chevalier, PhD. and many others.
Over 20 peer-reviewed studies have shown that Grounding (Earthing) reduces inflammation...one of the most damaging internal biological processes that leads to chronic disease. So get out there and put your feet on the ground, and/or increase your grounding time indoors with grounding products. Your body and mind will thank you! By late evening unsettling feelings and emotions about the past can arise. But don’t look back or pay too much attention to these feelings as your judgment is probably a bit clouded. Simply unplug from the world and relax. Sit outside. Go for a walk. Give yourself a break from the past and the future… be in the moment, anyway you can.

Nature is man’s healer, because Nature is man. When Ayurveda says that the sun is our right eye and the moon our left eye, we mustn’t sneer. By bathing us in the moon, the sun, and the sea, Nature fashioned the bodies we inhabit. These were the ingredients that provided us each with our piece of Nature—a shelter, life-support system, intimate companion, and home for seven decades or more.
The discovery of the quantum realm opened a way to follow the influence of the sun, moon, and sea down deeper into ourselves. I am taking you there only in the hope that there is even more healing to be found there. We already know that a human fetus develops by remembering and imitating the shapes of fish, amphibians, and early mammals. Quantum discoveries enable us to go into our very atoms and remember the early universe itself.
From the book Quantum Healing of Deeepak Chopra

Christmas Countdown Day 2: Gingerbread House w/Andy
Tumblr media
Decorating a Gingerbread house before Christmas was a huge tradition in my family growing up. I wanted to continue that tradition into my family, so when I asked Andy if he wanted to build one together, he was all to eager.
After work one night, I picked one up from the store, along with an assortment of candy, icing and sprinkles.
When I got home with grocery bags in hand, Andy quickly rushed off of the couch to come help, pressing a quick kiss to my forehead.
"How was your day, baby?" He called from the kitchen to where I was hanging my coat on the hanger by the door.
"Eh. It was average. Nothing overly exciting happened, but I'm happy to see you. How was yours?" I called back, walking to the kitchen.
He was taking the groceries out of the bag and putting them on the kitchen island. I crept up behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist, laying my head on his back. "It was great, actually. I made a break through on that case I was talking about, the Jansen case, remember?" he chimed.
"The one with the girl who killed her son and husband?" He nodded. "Yeah, I remember," I said with a lighthearted chuckle.
"Well, after my lunch break I remembered you saying something in college about thinking outside of the box, or not overthinking it and looking at the obvious details, or something. How did it go?"
My eyes lit up. "Instead of thinking outside the box, get rid of the box. Deepak Chopra."
"Yes! That's it. Anyways, I took a step back and looked for holes in the timeline, and went from there." He ranted as I moved around to the other side of the island to look at him, leaning forward on my elbows as he continued to unpack the groceries.
"I figured out that her alibi didn't match up with the security camera dates, and oh, you got one!" He cheered as he pulled out the gingerbread house and proceeded to look at all of the other sugary additives I bought.
I chuckled, "Yeah. We can do it tonight if you're up for it, but finish what you were saying first." I said, and he looked like a child on Christmas morning, quite ironically.
-
Sitting across from each other at the kitchen table, Andy and I set up to start decorating. As I'm positioning the five panels, the walls and the floor, in a cross formation as organization is key, Andy was reading the instructions.
"We don't need those, Andy," I giggled, causing him to give me a puzzled look.
"What do you mean?" He queried.
"I've been doing this for like, two decades, Andy. I'm a gingerbread architect." He just shook his head and laughed, putting the instructions down on the table and pushing them to the side.
"Okay, so first, we're going to use the icing..." I said as my eyes skimmed the table for the pastry bag. Andy spotted it before me and grabbed it, handing it to me. "Thank you. We'll take the icing, and line the edges of each panel in it one by one, sticking them to the base panel after." I grabbed the other pastry bag and slid it across the table towards him.
Picking up a wall, I showed him how to do it. I just outlined a box around the inside of the square with the icing, and iced a line on the base panel and stuck it on. "Voila."
He nodded his head and decided it looked easy enough. He repeated the same thing I did, and stuck it on the base. Easy.
We both did another wall, and then it was time for the roof.
"Why don't you do the roof, gingerbread master. I'll most definitely fuck it up in some way," he chuckled, placing the pastry bag on the table.
"If you're sure, gingerbread apprentice," I said, shooting him a wink. My teeth caught my bottom lip as I lined the two roof panels with icing and placed them on top of the house in precision.
"There," I said, sitting back down and taking a breath. "Now we have to wait for the icing to harden and fuse the house together, kind of, fuse is the wrong word but you know what I mean," I shook my head at myself.
"Right. Well why don't we order something in?" He suggested with a smirk. I eagerly agreed. Building a gingerbread and cooking dinner wasn't very appealing to me.
-
After dinner, which was simply Chinese takeout from our favourite place, we sat back down and got ready to decorate.
"Okay. I'll take the whole left side, you take the right," I declared. He nodded and we began.
We were both so focused on making our sides look perfect, not letting the other see until it was finished. The silence was comfortable, but the mood could use a little more festivity.
My wooly socks padded on the hardwood floor on the way to the bluetooth speaker. Turning it on and pressing a few buttons on my phone, christmas tunes started to play. "That's better," I mumbled.
Sitting back down, Andy smirked at me. I was confused for a second, until he dipped his finger into one of the bowls of icing and slowly licked it off.
"Andy!" I cried out. "You know how gross that is, stop," I whined.
"No way, it's just so sweet," he said, finishing off what was left on his finger. "Reminds me of someone..."
A rose tint surfaced on my cheeks.
He dipped two fingers back into the icing, but I swatted at his hand as he pulled them out. He brought them to his lips, but he didn't lick them off this time. "You can't even blame me, when I'm deprived of the real treat I want," he teased, looking me dead in the eyes. In an instant, he reached across the table and swiped the two icing-clad fingers across my nose.
"Andy!" I squealed, wiping the sticky residue off of my face. "Oh, now you've done it," I said with a grin.
"What?" He asked cheekily. "Show me what I did, sweetheart."
Pushing myself up from the table, I dipped my whole hand in icing and lunges forward, knocking the gingerbread house over and smearing icing all in his beard. My hand stayed in his beard, and both of our eyes were wide and mouths agape.
At once, boisterous laughter from both of us filled the room. In one swift motion, he pulled me onto his lap from where I was on the table, landing with a soft thump.
Pressing his lips to mine, he made sure the kiss was extra sloppy. He made sure he spread the icing from his beard all over my face. When I finally pulled away from the kiss with puffy lips and a heaving chest, there was icing on every inch of my face.
"You bastard," I breathed out.
"Oh you wanna call me names? Let's see what other ones I can make spill out of that pretty mouth, shall we?"
Let's just say we didn't get to finish the gingerbread house that night.
