Today marks two years since I began my fic series A Grand Gift Of Silence, which features Sherlock Holmes experiencing non-verbal episodes, he and Watson in a queerplatonic partnership and using sign language to communicate, and my favourite elder sibling deaf!Mycroft Holmes.

I started this series on a whim - it wasn't intended to be a series at all, just a small one-shot fic with Holmes using sign language after exhausting himself with a very long and busy day. But that little fic sparked something profound in my brain, and before I knew it I'd written ten more stories in the space of a month!

There are twenty stories in that series now (I have hopes to make them into a book one day!). Some are tied in with the canon, most of them aren't. That first little fic was the very first Holmes fic I ever wrote. I wrote this series for me, really, because I discovered that I love exploring queerplatonic Holmes and Watson, and my own experiences with sign language inspired me.

Little did I know how much these fics would inspire others. I have received multiple comments and AO3 bookmarks saying how I've encouraged people to learn sign language, I've helped people realise they want a queerplatonic relationship, they love the stories, they love how I represent neurodivergence, autism, nonverbalism, and disability. I'll admit, I've cried while reading these responses - more than once.

I am honoured and humbled. This fandom is so wonderful, and I'm incredibly grateful to have my little corner of it to play house with my favourite characters.

My first ever digital art!!! (Guys, it had to be Robstar)

This took me 3 weeks to complete 😭

I struggled a ton because of the lack of light pen thus leading me to just use my own fingers for the whole thing 💀 (I initially wanted to draw a pretty background depicting a ball room too but gave up on it and just went on with a generic galaxy bg but also made a ball room version using this image )

I experimented a lil with the shading and uh let's say digital shading is a lot different than traditional art lol I struggled with some aspects like hands because it's a lot hardee to manuever in digital art (and I already suck ass in drawing them in traditional art 🫠) just like shading and again, I'm very new to this haha (there are just so many tools and options like it's kinda overwhelming)

The dress worn by Starfire is inspired from the one she wore in that one TTG episode where she became the Tamaranean Queen and Robin's one is a combination from the one he wore in one episode of BTAS and "Date with Destiny" from TT03. I went with TTG artstyle because of simplicity reasons-

I don't think anyone will actually understand just how much I love Ninjago

I love everything about it

The funny moments, the sentimental moments, the straight up sad moments or moments that make me angry

I love it all

I can't truly hate any character from it, everyone has their flaws but at the same time everyone has something to genuinely love about them

I physically cannot hate ANYONE from the show

No matter who it is

I will always find something to love about them

I don't think I can actually hate anyone...never had it in my heart to do that

But everything about it, the show(s), the movie, the fandom, the books, the good and the bad I'm here for it all

I will still stand by it and I will always respect everyone's opinions on their aspects of the show

But Ninjago always held a special place, it's always been there and it always will be

The stupid smiles on their faces, the stupid angst the stupid dumb celebratory moments the ninja get only for it to be ruined moments late, I love it all

The edits people make, the funny, the angsty, the nostalgic, the happy, the silly, the sad, and the angry, it always gets me

Everything about this show reminds me how much it means to me, how much it has *always* meant to me.

Words aren't even enough to describe this feeling, I don't know what it's called but whatever it is I'm so damned glad I've stuck around long enough to feel it

Maybe there's a ton of people out there who feel the exact same as I do and just don't know how to describe it well, and maybe there isn't

After all...it's just a silly kids show, right? A stupid, fun, silly kids show that I will never stop watching, that I will always love no matter what happens

I will forever be greatful that my 8 year old self found this damned lego show back in 2016 and watched it from beginning to end and loved every single aspect of it, every single moment of every minute of that show

I love Ninjago so much it makes me feel sick(In a way) but I don't even care because it is that special to me

Thank you Ninjago for just existing and feeding my fixations for all these years, and continuing to do so<33

Thank you Ninjago fandom for making all the silly shit you do and for the love of the fsm don't ever stop, y'all mean so much and you make everything so interesting with your silly creative minds<33

I hope someone can kind of connect with me on this but ykw if I'm on my own in this aspect of certain things that's okay too

(Okay legit reasons why I don't always just put my thoughts in a reblog rather than the tags: 1) 90% of the time I don't think I'm gonna go on a full rant in the tags until after it exists and then i do not want to rewrite what I already wrote outside tags (note: I mostly blog on mobile so it's a big pain in the ass), 2) if I were to do a full actual analysis I would want it to be more coherent and less repetitive than I am in the tags, and 3) some anxiety over just adding a big block of text on other's posts? This last one I know isn't too big of a deal, but rambling in the tags is very freeing and very low stakes.

Plus. I've had enough people repost my tags across various fandoms. I've always done the tag thing. I figured if someone DOES want to actually comment on them, they will. As it stands, I'm happy with folks going "prev tags" or just reblogging my tags. People's reactions are very rewarding~)
