literally the only quarantine fic i’ve ever bothered to read in any fandom and completely worth it it’s SO good. they become fwb and dean has an existential crisis and he keeps bringing up meaninglessness and death during sex

Dean’s been painfully aware for a long time that Cas is pretty easy on the eyes, but he’s used to seeing Cas buttoned-up and unflappable, looking straight-laced in a stiff oxford and an unflattering trenchcoat.

this entire series is really good i enjoyed it a lot, i’m just putting this one specifically on the list bc the rest of the series is very explicit and this is really good as a standalone for anyone who wouldn’t be into the rest of the series!!

Throwing a pattern of uneven white stripes over the bunched up covers. Over Dean's fingers twisted in the sheets. One half of him in shadow, softened by the dark. The heat of his skin. The tremble of him under Castiel's touch.

He caresses a hand over Dean's chest, slowly. Dean's mouth falls open, his body arching into Castiel's touch. Castiel stops over Dean's heart. Through the fever of his desire, he rejoices about the wonder of experiencing another's heartbeat through one's own senses.

Dean gasps, but then he turns his face away and towards the dark. Eyes closed tight and brows furrowed like something is hurting him.

Lisa Braeden, the one woman Dean ever actually had a shot at a real life with, back from where he buried her in his mind. And her hand is on Cas's arm like it's no big deal, like it belongs there. Cas, Dean's dorky, sweet, badass, angelic best friend, and he's just standing there next to Lisa and not moving her hand away.

Dean feels the jealousy rising, and it's not directed where he expected it to be. Because it takes this exact moment for Dean to realize he's in love with his best friend. He's in love with his best friend, and Lisa is looking at Cas like he's the best thing since automatic rifles, and Dean is utterly fucked.

one of my absolute fav case fics it forces dean to confront some aspects of johns parenting and work through some shit and also him and cas fall in love and it’s really well done. love this one a lot <3

Hi! I saw your comments in a recent post where a gwynriel asked why people thought gwyn is a lightsinger and I felt compelled to reach out to you to say I AGREE and I am so sorry for the hostility you were shown for your completely justified (and non-combative) comments.

There are a few points that I wanted to make that I don’t think gwynriels understand.

1. A lot of people think gwyn is a lightsinger because of the possible foreshadowing techniques that Sarah implemented in ACOSF. Bringing up lightsingers so casually and then describing gwyn’s singing and breath and the reactions other had to both of those in the way she did is curious to say the least. Although it’s not confirmed, it is an interesting theory.

2. IF gwyn is a lightsinger, it does not mean she is evil! The most popular theory I’ve seen is that she doesn’t understand her powers and is possibly being unwillingly controlled by Merrill (who I think we can all agree is a little sus). Yes, there may be some people who want gwyn to be knowingly evil, much like many more gwynriels who want elain to turn evil just for the sake of getting her out of the picture. But the majority of elriels I’ve seen and interacted with are more supportive of the possible “Merrill abusing gwyn’s powers” theory since we all know that gwyn is canonically kind.

3. Gwyn possibly being a lightsinger is in NO WAY tied to her being an SA survivor. It is the same way that Rhys being able to casually mist people and Nesta being able to literally disintegrate the Queen with her powers have nothing to do with their being SA survivors. When gwynriels say that elriels are “attacking gwyn because she is in SA survivor” just because elriels suggest gwyn might have lightsinger powers blows my mind. And they say that “real life SA survivors are hurt by these theories” - why? I don’t like to talk about my own history but I myself am an SA survivor and in no way do I think that saying gwyn might have lightsinger powers (or even saying she could be evil- not that many are saying that) has ANYTHING to do with her SA history. I equate this with all of the hate nesta and Rhys consistently have gotten over the years. The way gwynriels are using gwyn’s SA history as a reason to dispel theories they do not like is akin to an anti-Nesta saying “nesta is rude and I don’t like her” and then someone saying “you are an awful human being for not liking her because she’s an SA survivor. You obviously do not support SA victims at all. How dare you not like nesta”. A character is not solely defined by their history with SA. And their SA is not inherently tied to every other aspect about them. IF gwyn is a lightsinger (and IF she uses her powers knowingly or unknowingly) that has NOTHING to do with her being an SA survivor.

I am just so tired of gwynriels trying to twist elriels’ words to make them out to be villains. No elriel I have seen on tumblr has ever said anything negative about gwyn’s SA history. If anyone were to attack her for that specifically, yeah, they should called out for that because that is messed up. But people need to stop assuming that everything said about gwyn is somehow tied to her being an SA survivor. That is a part of who she is unfortunately but that is not ALL she is and when gwynriels are constantly using that to combat theories they do not like, they are reducing her to her SA and THAT is what is the most messed up. Gwyn is so much more than her SA and she, as well as every SA survivor in real life, deserves the respect of being treated like they are a human being and more than their SA.

Sorry for this long post but I saw your comments and they were completely in-line with my beliefs as well and I wanted to show my support for you.

Heyyy! Thank u so much. That little "debate" left me a little shaken, to be honest. It became a real trigger, really fast.

Lets talk abou the point:

1) The lightsinger theory for me is one of the best ones. I've been saying this from the begging, Gwyn needs to have a important role next book. Yes, The book is Elain's. But Elain will get the sub plot with her Love interest like Nessian did. Gwyn's role, i believe, is realted to the bigger plot. Sarah described her singing for some reason, and its show to affect Nestha in ACOSF.

2) YES! I do not want Gwyn to be evil, and don't believe she will. Her being manipulated by Merril is a great plot. Cause that woman is weird lol. I understand why gwynriels get so mad about, cause this theory eliminates the romantic aspect of Gwyn's voice on Az. But a theory is a theory, and this one makes a lot of sense with what Sjm left as hints in ACOSF. And what u say is true. The make so many Evil elain theory, not only that but they portrait elain in a very evil, manipulative manners. They think that is super ok, but make on sigle theory about precious gwyn and they go crazy.

3) This is the worst part for me. They use a very serious real life thing, for a petty reason. There is no excuse for using SA as a argument to solidify book theorys. And they use for ANYTHING. Anyone say anything about gwyn, a they come boiling with rage saying u are being toxic and not respecting her trauma. Withou realizing that they are attacking REAL LIFE SA SURVIVORS. Its ridiculous. The Lightsinger theory has nothing to do with what gwyn suffered. Nothing. Most theories doens't. I've been in this fandom for a while, and not once have i seen anyone say anything rude about her in that manner.

The problem is: Their shipp doesn't have solid theories. They have some conversations along ACOSF that show no more than a friendly interaction. And then, the famous extra chapter. The problem with the extra chapter is: what happens there cannot have more power than what happens in regular chapter. That's why i say that the necklace wont be a major issue next book. Even of we decide to take what happens there as important, what do we really have ? Az talks to gwyn and helps her with her training. Then, goes to the library and give CLOTHO (not gwyn) the necklace for her to deliver, but he also say for her to give to any other pristess, if not gwyn. Also, says he does nto consider her a friend. What i take from it is: Azriel is the link between Gwyn and next book. Like i said before, she has a role next book but nothing ties her to elain. We need a link there. And that setence about their friendship, for me, its the hint left behind.

The way i see it, we dont have romantic fellings or interaction there. Only hints to bring her back next book. And talking about elriel in his pov. For elriel, we have the extra step. It says it right there, they never dared do anything other than touching hands and stealing glances. The invisible line they created, almost crossed. But stopped by rhys. Why ?

1) Tell me one author that is dumb enough to make a shipp canon on a extra chapter ? Yes, that kiss couldn't happen there. (Thank u Rhys)

2) Who doens't love a proibited romance ? Rhys order just gave us the best hint for the sub plot of elain's book. Along with some intersting drama between the charaters. (Again, Thank u Rhys)

In the end, sjm got a lot of marketing with that extra chapter too. Azriel is a fan favorite and she knew we were all waiting on that pov. Its a lot a marketing there too.

Aelfi is still too young for a romantic relationship (or at least seems like it) and has never shown any interest in one. She is not exactly shy though and has no issue asserting herself when necessary.

Broder I’m pretty sure now is aro. He was never intersted in a romantic relationship, but his platonic ones just kinf of happend. He did not plan to adopt to young men, one of which is significantly older than him actually, the other one is posessed by god, but here we are. Someone’s gonna have to take care of them, and unfortunately he now loves them very much, so it’ll have to be him. He is the only one with common sense in that group, and so has become the stable centre. He’s the one keeping it all together, and though Waidwen and Mani complain, they too love him very much and rely on him to some degree.

Broder isn’t an alcoholic but he likes his drinks, preferably strong. He also likes fish since he grew up with it in Rauatai. Warm bread is also nice, because it is a simple luxury he doesn’t have often.

⭐ What is your OC afraid of? Any crippling phobias or some such? How do they act when scared and what helps them calm down? Does anyone ever find your OC scary? Why?

If Aelfi is afraid of anything she’s very good at not showing it. She is fearless to a sometimes unsettling degree.

Broder knows fear intimately with his life as a mercenary, but he has learnt to compartmentalize. Focus on what you can do, worry about everything else later. No real phobias, but with his attatchment to his friends comes of course the fear of losing them. (Yes I like to torture myself and my ocs but the tragedy is just so sweet.)

🌳 Compare your OC to themself from 10 years ago. How has their mental state changed since then, how have they aged and grown up? Would they say they’re in a better place than they were back then or do they need help? What advice would they give their younger self? What advice would their younger self give to them now?

Gonna have to give a non answer for this for Aelfi because spoilers. (And also I haven’t figured out all the details yet^^°) Suffice to say she has not changed much in the last 10 years.

(Going from about shortly before the Saint’s War) Broder hasn’t changed much, but his circumstance sure have. He has a stable long term job now, and also friends to take care of, that he loves an unreasonable amount from his earlier position. His younger self definitely wouldn’t believe that. He would probaly just tell his younger self to trust his istincts, he’s fine with what happened, and it did lead him here in the end. (Getting that chance after the Saint’s War would fry his brain. He wants to stop it so badly, but he really doesn’t know how. He already tried, he told Waidwen again and again not to go there, and he still did. He did everything to the best of his abilities and still failed.)

💤 What was your OC like as a baby, a child and as a teen? (if your OC is a teen or a child, what will they be like as an adult?). How have they changed since then? What lessons have they learned and what things about their youth do they miss the most? Do they have any general regrets?

People hope Aelfi will grow out of her childishness at some point and become more serious, and also hopefully lose that constant appetite. She has no intention of that. She was always outgoing and curious. She does miss her parents a little, who she hasn’t seen in a long time, but mostly she is just excited what more mysteries are still waiting for her.

Broder was a pretty calm child, not shy, but not an explosion of energy like Aelfi. He has become a lot more self assured of course and more down to earth than in his youth. He’s fairly happy with his childhood, but if he does regret anything it’s that he didn’t stick around a little longer for his (significantly) younger siblings.

🍇 Day or Night? Sun or Rain? Summer or Winter?

Aelfi likes all of it. As long as you don’t expect her to sleep. And the snow goes away at some point. None of that eternal winter rubbish.

Broder doesn’t really have an opinion on day or night, he does prefer sun though. He’s seen enough rain in his life growing up in Rauatai. Summer is also nicer, makes work easier too.

💗 What would your OC say is their best feature? Why? What do their friends / family / lover(s) / people they know think is their best feature and why?

Aelfi really likes her eye tattoo on her throat, which Wael probably agrees with. Being an Orlan she doesn’t get many compliments from others though. If anything it’s usually something about her clothes.

Broder doesn’t care much about aesthetics, there’s nothing about his looks he has really strong feelings about. He does like his braid though. He’d survive without it, but why make unnecesary sacrifices. Mani does not make compliments often, but if pressed he’d probably say something about Broder’s strength and reliability. It would take Waidwen a while to admit it, but Broder is actually very soft and huggable.

A/N: Thank you so much for requesting doll! I hope you like it, I’m sorry if it isn’t what you wanted, but it kind of took on a life of its own lol. I made the setting Alabama, mainly because that’s where I’m from, and also bc Joe’s good ole boy Eugene Sledge accent makes my heart tingle so I needed an excuse to include this lol. Requests are open, so feel free to send them my way! Character: Joe Mazzello x Reader Word Count: 4,046 (I got carried away wow) Warnings: Fluff, mentions of anxiety, panic attacks Summary: When your parents insist on meeting your new boyfriend Joe, you’re more than excited. You love your family and their opinion of your significant other means the world to you, you know they’re going to love him no matter what, but Joe is absolutely paralyzed with fear. After you touchdown, you two are immediately on your way to your childhood home, Joe has been silent the whole flight, and his insecurities begin to show. Always the empathetic girlfriend, you pull off the interstate and reassure the love of your life.

When (Y/N)’s parents called her a few weeks ago, requesting she bring her boyfriend of 6 months home with her for the 4th, you were overjoyed. Joe was the only person in her life she you loved more than her family, and for all of the most important people in her life to be in one place made her heart so happy. The only thing that could make it even better is if Gwil, Lucy, Rami, and Ben could’ve been there as well. (Y/N) decided to tell Joe about the invitation as soon as he arrived home that night from set, knowing that they both would need to go ahead and make travel arrangements to travel from NY to Alabama. So, as soon as Joe walked through the door that night, (Y/N) was immediately at his side, arms around his waist. Joe chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her, pressing a kiss to your temple as he swayed the two of them in place. “Wow wow wow, this is the most affection you’ve ever shown me Ms. (Y/N), did you run over my cat?” Joe laughed as she pressed an affectionate kiss to his neck. (Y/N) scoffed and pulled away from his embrace, swatting him on his shoulder. “Joseph Francis! You better shut your mouth, you know damn well that I am the most affectionate human being alive.” Joe laughed and danced away from (Y/N)’s playful swat, grabbing her around the waist once again as she pouted. “I know babe, I know, and I have no idea what I did to deserve someone like you.” (Y/N) had thought the same thing, from the moment she and Joe had went on their first date, to now, she was extremely confused as to how she had managed to find someone as wonderful and kind as Joe. He was the kind of man that her parents had always hoped she’d bring home one day, which was why she was so excited to tell him about the phone call. (Y/N) smiled and placed a kiss on Joe’s nose before pulling away from his embrace, he frowned at the loss of contact, and proceeded to follow her to the kitchen like a lost puppy as she went to prepare dinner. “Well, we’ll see how you feel about me when I tell you about the phone call I got today.” she said as she rounded the corner of the kitchen island. Joe raised an eyebrow at her statement, situating himself onto a stool across the island for her. “Oh really now? What could you have possibly done my darlin?” (Y/N) chuckled at Joe’s attempt at copying her slight accent, and pulled 4 cloves of garlic from the windowsill to begin mincing. “So, my mom called today,” she didn’t get a chance to finish that statement before Joe’s face went white as a sheet. The sudden change in pallor of her boyfriend’s face concerned (Y/N), so she halted her mincing and continued her statement. “and you know my family has a big 4th celebration. My mom and dad want you to come, they want to meet you. If you’re okay with it of course.” (Y/N) didn’t want to rush him into anything, but they had been dating for a little over 6 months, and she’d met his entire family after only dating for a month and a half. The silence that filled the room afterwards didn’t last too long, as Joe cleared his throat and his face turned beet red. “I would love to meet your parents (Y/N).” Joe reached over the island with a shaky hand and pulled the hand that wasn’t covered in garlic mush towards him. He was extremely red, and looked to be on the verge of tears. (Y/N) placed the knife down before wiping her hands on a hand towel, and walking around the island to stand at Joe’s side. “Babe, if you don’t want to go it’s okay. I don’t want to rush you into something.” she leaned against the island and took Joe’s shaking hands into her own. Joe sighed and looked up at her, “No darling, I want to, I want to meet them more than you know..” “But?” “But what if they hate me, and what if your dad thinks I’m not good enough for you, and what if your brother thinks.” (Y/N) cut him off by delicately pressing your lips to his own, moving her hand from his hands to the hair at the nape of his neck, gently caressing the area which she knew would immediately calm him down. Throughout the 6 months that the two had been together, (Y/N) had come to realize that Joe had a slight anxiety problem, which was completely understandable, as she had one herself. While she knew that Joe’s anxieties were usually easily remedied by talking them out with her, (Y/N) had never been the cause of his anxiety, and she didn’t particularly like the feeling. (Y/N) pulled her lips from his and pulled his face towards her neck, his favorite place to relax after a stressful day, he really was the softest boyfriend anyone could ever hope to have “Joe, I can promise you, with everything that I have, my entire family will love you. I promise. They’ve never wanted to meet any of my other boyfriends before, and all my mom wants to talk about is you when we’re on the phone.” Joe sighed into her neck, placing a soft kiss there as she ran her fingers through his hair. “I know. I just know how much your family means to you, and I really don’t want to mess this up. I love you too much to let you go.” (Y/N) leaned into Joe and placed a kiss to the top of his head. “You don’t have to worry about it bub, they’re going to see how much you love me, and how much I love you, and that’s all they’re going to care about. Plus, my little cousins are very excited to meet you.” (Y/N) felt Joe chuckle against her neck before looking up at her.

“Jurassic Park” they both answered before dissolving in a fit of laughter. (Y/N) ruffled Joe’s hair before unraveling herself from him to continue cooking. Joe was suspiciously silent as (Y/N) continued mincing the remaining 3 cloves of garlic, before he rose from his spot across from her, rounding the island to wrap his arms around her waist, resting his head in the crook of her neck and shoulder. “Thank you (Y/N). You have no idea how much I appreciate you.” (Y/N) turned her head, placing a small kiss to his nose for the second time that night. “I do know, and I love you, but I would love and appreciate you even more if you would slice the carrots and potatoes.” Joe laughed and popped (Y/N) on the ass before heading to the refrigerator to get the vegetables his girlfriend had requested. ‘Maybe it won’t be that bad’ he thought, after all, he felt like he knew (Y/N)’s family well enough from the way she would talk about them. Joe nodded his head as he picked up the carrots from the crisper, ‘I’ll be fine.’

2 Week Later (Y/N) and Joe had successfully made their way to their rental car after departing the arrivals terminal, which was far more crowded than (Y/N) had ever seen it. The two had managed to have a very good flight, despite departing JFK at 6am, thankfully (Y/N)’s family only lived a short hour from Birmingham, allowing them an easy drive home. Her mom had offered to come and pick the two up at the airport, but (Y/N) had refused, not wanting Joe to feel awkward cooped up in a small car with only her and her mother for an hour. She preferred for Joe to meet the whole family at one time to prevent repeated introductions. As they placed their bags into the small Camry, (Y/N) took the keys from Joe’s hands before kissing his forehead. “I’ll drove babe, I think I know the way pretty dang well.” Joe laughed, of course, this is where his girlfriend had been raised, of course she should drive. The first 30 minutes of the drive passed with relative ease, the two were engaging in the usual easy conversation they normally had, (Y/N)’s ABBA playlist blasting from the stereo as she pointed out small landmarks along the highway. However, after another 15 miles, signs began appearing referencing (Y/N)’s hometown. 20 miles, 15 miles, 10 miles, as they passed the 5 mile sign, Joe’s stomach began to drop. Even though (Y/N)’s pep talk 2 weeks earlier, Joe couldn’t seem to shake the insecurities which resided in the deepest recesses of his mind. He knew that (Y/N) loved him, and would love him no matter what, but he also knew that she loved her family as aggressively. If he didn’t impress her family, she would break up with him, he was sure of it, and if there was anything in this world that he wanted any less, it would be for (Y/N) to end their relationship. Though the two had only been together for 6 months, Joe had never felt as strongly for anyone as he did for (Y/N). The sheer thought of her leaving made Joe’s heart constrict, and he felt his stomach drop. The tell tell signs of a panic attack. He could feel the tears starting to build in his eyes, and the grip he had on his hands tightened to a near dangerous level, he knew he would be bleeding if he wasn’t careful. Meanwhile, (Y/N)’s favorite ABBA song, Angel Eyes, came up on her playlist. Her own eyes lit up underneath her sunglasses, before she turned her head to Joe to get him to join her in a duet. However, the sight that she was met with was one which she didn’t expect, one that made her stomach sink. Her sweet boyfriend was sat straight up in the passenger seat, hands balled in fists, breathing heavily as tears ran from his sweet hazel eyes. (Y/N) had been dreading this, she’d known that the talk the two had had in their kitchen 2 weeks previous had calmed Joe down, but she had a small inkling that he wasn’t completely at ease. She hadn’t been either when she’d met Joe’s family, but he had done the same thing for her, reassuring her that his family was going to fall as deeply in love with her as he had. This had worked, though she still felt nervous upon meeting the Mazzello clan. However, as she looked over at her usually funny, loud, and fun loving boyfriend, she knew that this was completely different from nerves. He was having a panic attack. Seeing a gas station ahead, (Y/N) stepped on the gas a little harder than usual, desperate to comfort Joe as soon as possible. Once she reached the Texaco station, she pulled off to the side, unbuckled her seatbelt, and rushed to Joe’s side of the car. Joe hadn’t even noticed that the car had stopped until he felt his car door open, and two hands grasp his own. The sudden movement jarred Joe from his own mind, forcing his eyes to the source of the interruption. He looked to his right, and saw (Y/N) kneeling at the side of the car, knees on the probably boiling asphalt, a desperate look in her eyes. “Joe? Joe, bub, listen to me, you’re okay, I’m here, you’re okay.” (Y/N) was staring intently into his tear filled eyes, trying to get his attention away from whatever was inside his head, to her voice. At the sound of his girlfriend’s voice, Joe seemed to snap out of it, unbaling his hands, wincing at the sharp pain his nails had caused. (Y/N) sighed out of relief, but it was short lived as Joe’s eyes finally overflowed with the previously unshed tears. His chest began heaving, and he looked at (Y/N) desperate for some kind of relief. She sprung into action immediately, unbuckling her boyfriend’s seatbelt and yanking him out of the car into the overbearing July heat, before pulling him flush to her body. Her hand went straight into his hair, gently tugging on the roots to try and ground him, it had always worked for her when she had panic attacks, so she figured she might as well give it a go. Joe continued sobbing, whispering incoherently into (Y/N)’s ear, his sobs wracking his body so bad that she couldn’t understand a word he said. She began whispering to him as well, gentle words of affirmation, just trying to calm him down enough so she could get him to talk to her. The two stood like this for a good 15 minutes, Joe sobbing into (Y/N)’s shoulder, but eventually his sobs began to subside enough for him to speak. (Y/N) felt Joe raise his head from her shoulder, and she untangled her hands from his hair, moving them down to grasp his cheeks, but not before wiping the evidence of her own tears from her face. “Joe, honey, please talk to me, what’s wrong?” Joe began to tear up again, which prompted (Y/N) to pull his head towards her so she could place a comforting kiss on his head. “It’s okay love, just talk to me. Please.” Her voice cracked as she looked into Joe’s eyes. Hearing his girlfriend’s voice crack seemed to stir something inside Joe, seemed to ground him. He quickly wiped his eyes, and sighed, hugging (Y/N) as tightly as he could. “I’m sorry. I’m so so so sorry (Y/N), I…” Joe attempted to apologize, but (Y/N) stopped him. “Joe, you have absolutely nothing to apologize for, you had a panic attack because you are meeting MY parents, if anything I should be the one apologizing to YOU.” This caused Joe to now grasp (Y/N)’s hands, and stare her deep in the eyes. “No, (Y/N) don’t. This is me. This is all me. I, I just love you so fucking much, and I was just thinking out of my ass, and got scared, and then I scared you, and the last thing I want to ever do is scare or hurt you.” Joe’s voice was shockingly calm as he relayed this to you. “What were you thinking of Joe? What could’ve possibly made you so scared that you had a panic attack. It’s just my family, I’ve already told you that you have nothing to worry about. They’re going to love you because I love you.” (Y/N) was now desperate, wanting nothing more that to make Joe feel better. Joe sighed, running his hands over his face, and then through his hair. “That’s the thing (Y/N) its not “just” your family, you love your family more than anything on this planet. I hear how you talk about them, the way your mom raised you to be independent, the way your dad was the one you always turned to when you needed advice, the way your brother would absolutely decimate any boy who ever hurt you, you love every single person in your family so much, and I just don’t see how I could ever measure up to that.” (Y/N) opened her mouth to reply, but Joe continued on. “I’m 35, I’m an actor, I’m too short, I’m not attractive enough, I don’t have any special qualities, I don’t deserve someone as amazing as you, and your family is going to see that, and they’re going to tell you, and then you’re going to leave me, and I don’t know what I would do. I love you, I love you more than I have ever loved anyone on this planet. I have no idea how I have managed to live this long without you in my life, but I know for certain that I couldn’t go back to living my life normally if you ever left me, especially if it was because I just wasn’t good enough for you.” By the time Joe finished, (Y/N) had tears running down her face, her heart breaking as the man whom she loved more than life itself spilled his deepest thoughts to her. She had no idea Joe felt this way, she knew that he was nervous about meeting her family because he didn’t think they would like him, but she had no idea that the underlying meaning behind this was the fear that she would leave him. She couldn’t imagine her life without him, she had told him countless times that the only way anyone would ever manage to pry her away from Joe was if she died, to which Joe had replied with “Then they’ll just have to throw me on the fire with you, we’ll go out Dany and Drogo style babe.” Now, that same insanely confident, loving, incredible man, was stood in front of her, broken. (Y/N) quickly wiped her tears away, this wasn’t about her, and she didn’t want Joe to feel guilty over her tears. “Joseph. You listen, and you listen good. I will NEVER leave you, you understand me?” Joe was still looking at the ground, in the same position that he’d been in when he began his speech, but he lifted his head at (Y/N)’s words, hazel eyes meeting her own, before giving her a small nod. “I fucking love you Joe, I love you more than anything on this planet, and that includes my family.” Joe let out a small gasp at this, (Y/N)’s family was the most important thing to her, it was the whole reason he was so scared. Yet, here she was revealing that HE was the one thing on this floating rock that she loved the most. “Don’t you see that Joe? I love you, and I would do absolutely anything to make you feel happy, safe and loved. You are the most important thing to me, and if my family doesn’t like you, then that’s tough titties. They can learn to get used to not seeing me at family gatherings, because anyone who doesn’t love you, doesn’t love me. You are the smartest, most loving, caring, kind, incredible, fucking gorgeous, talented man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and somehow you’ve chosen to gift me with a little portion of your life.” (Y/N) had ahold of Joe’s face again, her hands delicately placed on his face, keeping his eyes locked onto her own in order to make him realize that every word she said was true. It must have worked, because the corner of Joe’s mouth began to lift, and he placed his hand on one of (Y/N)’s before lifting it slightly in order to place a kiss to her palm. This small action was one of her favorite forms of affection, and it elicited a small smile of her own. Soon enough, Joe had wrapped his arms around (Y/N) as tightly as he could, reveling in their closeness despite the sticky heat. “Hey, y’all okay?” came a call from the front of the Texaco, jerking the two from their embrace. There was an older man, probably 60, stood poking his head out the front door, looking intently at the two of them. Joe burst into a fit of laughter, his eyes crinkling at the corners, her favorite smile of his, throwing his head back as (Y/N) joined him. “Yes sir! Boyfriend is just nervous about meeting my family!” (Y/N) yelled back at the man. The store clerk nodded his head and held his index finger up, signaling the two of them to wait before he headed back into the store. (Y/N) and Joe stared at one another with equally confused looks on their faces before more laughs erupted from their mouths. “Are you sure you’re okay now Joe? We can always turn back around and tell my family that I came down with something.” Joe smiled over at (Y/N) before leaning against the car, immediately regretting it as he felt the sharp sting of hot metal against his skin. (Y/N) let out a snort as her boyfriend hopped around like rabbit in an attempt to get the burning to stop, earning her a pointed look from Joe, which only made the two laugh again. “I’m sure babe, sometimes you just have to have a mental breakdown to see the light.” (Y/N) crossed her arms and gave Joe a look that said ‘you’re deflecting’. “I promise (Y/N), after all, I might as well go ahead and meet these wonderful southerners before the wedding.” (Y/N) raised an eyebrow at Joe, “The wedding huh?” Joe simply smiled and slung his arm around her shoulders “Well duh, anybody who has seen my dick, met my parents, AND seen me have a panic attack has to be in for the long haul.” Joe’s spin on one of (Y/N)’s favorite John Mulaney jokes made her smile and thump his arm, which caused Joe to over dramatically flinch. He opened his mouth to make a smart retort towards (Y/N), but was interrupted at the sound of glass clanking against itself, making him turn around to see the store clerk from earlier waltzing towards the, now very sweaty, lovebirds. “Here ya go kids, meeting the parents is the worst part, but if you show up with something to wet their whistles, ya certainly won’t be too far on their bad sides.” the older man handed a bag full of various alcoholic beverages into Joe’s hands as (Y/N) attempted to offer payment, to which the man replied, “Absolutely not ma’am, the two of you remind me of my wife and I. I remember just how nervous I was when I met her folks, and how much I had wished I would’ve had some liquid courage. Y’all be careful.” And with that, the older man walked back through the front of the store. (Y/N) only shook her head, muttering something about “sweet home alabama”, as Joe situated himself back in the front seat of the car. As he waited, he pulled up (Y/N)’s ABBA playlist and selected her favorite song, just in time for the love of his life to open the door and plop down beside him. The opening “Ahahas” of Angel Eyes blasted through the speakers, causing (Y/N) to jump. “JOSEPH!” Joe simply laughed, taking her right hand into his, before bringing it up to his lips. “I thought you wanted to duet.” (Y/N) merely rolled her eyes, looking into the love filled ones of her boyfriend. Honestly the two of them were sickening. “Put on your seatbelt Mazzello, state troopers have quotas to meet, and I’m not a fan of getting tickets for unsafe driving.” Joe simply laughed in response, clicking his seatbelt in front of him as (Y/N) peeled out of the Texaco and towards her family’s house. 10 minutes, and 2 intense ABBA jam sessions later, (Y/N) pulled into a long gravel driveway, covered in cars. Joe felt his stomach start to sink again, but upon feeling (Y/N)’s hand in his, he smiled. “Ready my dude?” (Y/N) grinned over at him as she squeezed his hand in reassurance. “Ready Freddie.”

All or Nothing - Chapter 1

A/N Well here it is! Feedback is appreciated and I hope you enjoy! A thankyou goes to @nicknchris09 for the story title and your much valued critique of the story thus far!

I was born and bred in Australia. I made the move to L.A after finishing university. It started out as a 12 month holiday travelling the states, but early in the trip, I visited L.A, fell in love with the place and decided to pursue my career over here. I have been a paramedic in L.A for 5 years. In that 5 years I have only had the one partner, Johno, who was the best mentor anyone fresh out of university could ever ask for. Johno’s last day was yesterday, he quit because he was moving interstate. I am definitely going to miss him. One of the last things he said to me was “Alina, it’s your turn to be a mentor now, you will nail it!” Hearing that from someone I looked up to meant the world to me, it filled me with so much confidence. Today is the first day on the job with my new partner. My boss has already filled me in about her. Brooke graduated university last year, however, she’s older than me. She’s 32. She’s 5 years older than me. Brooke was a mature aged student at university. This should be interesting.

I walk into the station to find, who I am assuming to be Brooke, waiting for me to arrive. As I am taking my sunglasses off, this lady holds out her hand and says rather cheerfully “Hi, my name is Brooke, you must be Alana”

I smile sweetly and shake her hand. I tell her “My name is Alina”

She quickly apologises “I am so sorry, Alina”

I tell her “Don’t stress about it, it happens quite often, it’s nice to meet you anyways”

She sighs of relief “It’s nice to meet you too”

Even though she got my name wrong, she seems nice. Hopefully that’s not just a front because it’s her first day and she wants to make a good impression. Time will tell if that’s the case. The first few hours of our shift dragged by. After I had shown Brooke what we do when we start our shift, there was nothing that we could do, so we made use of the time by getting to know each other. I am always reserved when I tell people that I just meet about myself. I stay reserved until I know I can trust them. Brooke was completely the opposite. She gave me her life story and I struggled to stay awake for the most of it.

We finally get a callout. An elderly man who having a suspected heart attack. Brooke gets in the passenger side of the ambulance, I am driving. I turn the lights and sirens on and rush to the address. I pull up in the driveway, I tell Brooke “You get the stretcher and the kit, I will go in”

She nods her head and says “Ok”

I walk towards the door and a younger lady who is panicking she sobs “My father isn’t breathing, help him”

I ask her “Ma’am. Where is your father?”

She signals me to follow her, by this time, Brooke has caught up to us with the stretcher and kit. We follow the lady into her living room, where her father lay lifeless on the floor.

I tell Brooke “Check his pulse, I will get the oxygen”

She doesn’t respond to me, she just stands there, frozen. I repeat myself louder. Still no reaction. In the meantime the man’s daughter is getting worked up even more.

This man doesn’t have the time for this, so I quickly kneel beside him on the floor and check his pulse. I can’t feel a pulse so I begin CPR. I call out to Brooke “Get the oxygen”

She snaps out of whatever land she was in and gives the man oxygen. About 30 seconds later a very faint pulse appears.

I tell his daughter “Your father is back with us, we need to get him to the hospital”

Her sobs turn into relief “Thank God” she sighs

After the callout, Brooke and I are back at the station, sitting on stools at the kitchen bench.

I ask her “So what happened, why did you freeze?”

Barely above a whisper, Brooke replies “I don’t know”

I firmly say “You better find out and fix the problem, it can’t happen again”

She sighs “Yes, I know”

A few hours pass and it’s finally the end of shift. I thought this day would never end. I live with my best friend Danny. He is a sassy gay man who tells it how it is. He is quick witted and full of inappropriate comments. He owns his own hair salon and it’s really successful. He loves what he does and it really does show in his work. I am at home, the first thing I door is pour myself a bourbon. It’s only 4pm so Danny won’t be home for another couple of hours yet. I walk into the living room, sit my drink down on the coffee table beside the couch, then just flop myself onto the couch. I grab the remote from the seat next to me, turn the TV on and start flicking through the channels. Nothing of interest is on so I turn it off again and just read a book instead.

12 months later, Brooke is still my partner and we are close. She didn’t freeze anymore like she did on her first day. She is actually an excellent paramedic. Danny and I had a falling out, so I no longer live with him, I no longer talk to him. I moved out into a spacious modern home, with a pool and undercover entertainment area. I love it. I live by myself because other than Brooke, I have no friends in L.A. I have told Brooke about the falling out Danny and I had, but I haven’t told her that since the falling out, she is my only friend. I am embarrassed about that.

1 month later, I finally confess to Brooke about my lack of social life. She is now adamant she is taking me on a night out with her friends. I am looking forward to it. I need a life. All I do is work. The next weekend comes around. I am going out with Brooke and her friends tonight. I am so nervous yet at the same time I am excited. After I am ready, I call for an Uber to take me to the bar. While I’m waiting I have a couple of quick shots of bourbon to calm my nerves. I don’t know why I am so nervous. Half hour later I arrive. Brooke and her friends are waiting out the front for me. She has a huge smile on her face she greets me in an over the top cheery voice

“Hey Alina” then her voice settles as she introduces her friends one by one “This is Milla, Tara and Becky” then Brooke says to them “This is Alina”

We all say to each other “Nice to meet you”

We walk in and find a table to sit at. The place isn’t a busy place at all. It’s nice and quiet. Brooke immediately goes up to the bar to buy the first round of drinks. While Brooke is gone, the girls and I chat. There’s no awkwardness at all. I am actually getting along with them!

I am so thankful to Brooke right now. Her friends are great! I certainly hope they think the same about me.

6 months later Brooke and I consider each other best friends and now I am friends with her friends. We catch up for coffee when we can, but it’s not that often due to everyone’s commitments. Life is going great at the moment. I have a social life, I work with my best friend and I cannot complain at all. Brooke and I are catching up for a coffee with Milla, Tara and Becky in our “Lunch Break”. We are always on duty during lunch breaks, majority of the time we don’t get interrupted. Brooke and I get there, of course we are still in uniform and had to take the ambulance just in case we get a call. We get there first, and while we are waiting for Milla, Tara and Becky, Brooke and I get the call to attend a major car accident on a busy freeway. We get going straight away. We arrive within a few minutes. The scene is like nothing I have ever seen before. Multiple cars are rolled, a few cars crumpled with passengers trapped inside. Our boss is already on scene, as we are getting equipment ready, I hear his voice from behind me “Alina and Brooke, priority is the black Aston Martin over there” he points to the direction.

I reply “Ten-Four”

Brooke and I rush to the Aston Martin. Two kids crying hysterically and what appears to be their mother is in the back unconscious with major head injuries, an older man in the front passenger seat, barely conscious with an obvious gash to his head which was bleeding profusely.

I don’t know how the driver only got away with cuts and bruising. He managed to escape the crumpled car as well.

He comes up to me, he is trying to stay calm but there’s panic in his voice “It’s my family in there, my 2 nieces, my sister and my father”

I reply “Ok, we will do everything we can to get your family out safe”

As I say that, I notice his eyes, his pupils are dilated. He’s going into shock.

I ask him “Sir, what is your name?”

He frowns like he was confused. Like he didn’t comprehend the question. He takes a step away and stumbles. I quickly grab his arm to stop him falling. Once he is balanced, I grab his arm and put it around my neck and put my arm around his waist so we can walk back to the ambulance where I can treat him properly. Once I get him seated in the back of the ambulance, I ask him again

“What is your name?”

He responds, very quietly “Seth”

I tell him “My name is Alina, you are going into shock, but I am going to help you, Ok?”

He just nods his head.

As I am treating him, I try to keep him talking to save him from going into shock.

I ask “Seth, do you remember what happened?”

He thinks hard before shaking his head.

I assure him “That’s ok. You have told me that it’s your father, sister and 2 nieces in the car, do you remember their names?”

He nods his head and tells me “Ron, Rachael, Bella and Perry”

I tell him “That is a good thing you can remember that. I do need to get you to the hospital so they can continue treatment”

He just nods his head.

I chat to my boss to update him on Seth’s condition and so he can make the arrangements to get Seth to hospital so I can remain on scene.

I actually loved this chapter! I was kinda meh on the Marley arc at first, but this completely changed my feelings on it!! Seeing everything from the Warriors' perspective is a refreshing change of pace.

Bertolt is the God of Destruction, RBA deserved better, Magath is actually a nice guy, poor Porco has a terrible name and deserves more love

This is the first chapter in the Marley arc I've wholeheartedly enjoyed. I was always looking forward to getting the Warriors' perspective, but the way in which it's been done has been terrible pacing wise, if definitely interesting story-wise; consequently I've had mixed feelings about the recent chapters. But this one managed to really make me feel for the characters and their tragic, terrible circumstances for the first time in awhile.

I'm still not over the serumbowl and how much the paradis cast showed they're really no better than the ones they're fighting against, so I'm really happy to see the side that's been less favored by the narration so far. Bless the warriors, they're all full of personality and I already love them.

It was rlly heartbreaking when Marcel tells the truth to Reiner and he deludes himself saying: ""wtf are you talking about Marcel? I WAS CHOSEN BY MARLEY, i don't believe you"".The Armored Titan is the only thing hes got...

LOVE THE WARRIORS! On a more serious note, im very curious about zeke and his true motives.. what is he trying to accomplish? I also really wish that his relationship with eren can be expanded on. Zeke told eren that he would save him. Does he to some degree care for eren's own life? Or is he just after eren's powers? Regardless, i find zeke fascinating.

I'm loving the Marley arc. We need the other side of the coin and this really shows that evil can be grey. Neither the islanders or Marley-Eldians are really bad...they're just all raised/brain-washed in different settings. I really enjoy the added layers fo Reiner.

These few chapters have been really interesting, but I hope to see our guys back on Paradis, unless Amputee-kun turns out to be Eren and the other Survey Corps have infiltred Marley. Would love for the story to continue from that point of view, but with flashbacks as to what happened in Paradis. Really interesting chapters overall, learning about the 9 titans was really hype.

I hope that Isayama gives us an ending almost as great as ATLA. Each character gets a proper conclusion & the entire story is satisfying. I want AOT to go down as one of the top 10 solid anime/manga of all time. I have faith in Isayama but still the future is unpredictable.

I hope we get to see the attack on Wall Maria from the warriors pov next chapter. And I was disappointed that Amputee guy wasn't in this chapter.

More Marley please. Even if some are salty not to see the Walldians, I think it's very enlightening to see Marley and Warrior perspective on this. As would say Bertolt : "no one is at fault" and, in the same time, each side has their fault.

I've been rocking with this arc and loving it, although I've generally had little complaint with any arc of this series, I love everyone :) But I think some development for my favorite characters and their side of the war is backed up by some subtle set-up for the climax of it all. For all that some people are desperate to see the main cast, I think this kind of exploration is necessary, not just for emotional investment, but because it gives us a look at the world the Walldians are so desperate to get to. It shows that the battle is only just beginning; Marley is not the endgame boss, and in fact it might be the only thing standing in the way of total destruction for all Eldians. How do they deal with that? Seeing that from the Warriors' perspective gives it reality and weight.

I am enjoying the Marley perspective, but I'm having trouble with the pacing. These past 2 chapters are moving so slow. And even though Reiner is my favourite character, I wish we wouldn't have such a huge focus on him chapter after chapter. It's becoming a bit repetitive, and I would rather learn more about the other warriors. I am looking forward to seeing RBA's pov of the attack on Shiganshina however. :)

It's a good chapter, I'm enjoying seeing the flashbacks and the distinction of the Titan powers. On a smaller note regarding that, I wish they'd tell us what makes the Female Titan "female."

A relatively good chapter, but I reallllllly want to see the main cast again. It doesn't have to be from their perspective, but I just want to see them again after a 4 year time skip.

We will most certainly remain on Marley, but the perspective will soon shift to the main cast when the rest of them arrive to backup Eren and trash the festival in which the Tieber family will present the plan to capture the Founding Titan.

I can see why Reiner had all that plot armour now! Learning more about the warriors (RBA etc, not the new kids :/) has been really interesting and a much needed flesh out of their characters.

I enjoy seeing more of Reiner (cause he's da best) and learning more about his past and the world outside the walls. I would love to see him decide that he's done with Marley and doing things against his moral code (cause let's be real he probably is totally against this shitshow). I know he'll die and that makes me sad so I'm trying to enjoy whatever time we have left with him. ;_;

No doubt next chapter will show the Wall Maria breach from the Warriors' perspective. I only wonder how much of the flashback will be shown in a single chapter.

I hope we get more backstory on Zeke. There's still so much about him that's mysterious. More of him interacting with the other warriors is always good. I really really REALLY need to know what his thoughts on Eren are. Does he still plan on "saving" him, whatever that may mean? And how much does Pieck know?

When will we see giant naked people punch each other again?

I feel sorry for all the warriors but they killed so many people that I cannot see them as pure cinnamon rolls that need to be protected, for me they will always be morally grey.

I love that we are finally getting details about the warriors. This was something long in the making. I can understand where fans of the main cast are coming from, but you just have to have patience until we see the main cast again. For a story like Attack on Titan, which is supposed to be morally grey, we have to have insight on both sides of the conflict. It would have been extremely stupid if Isayama never delved into the warriors background after all the stuff that they had did. The timing of the switch may have been wrong, but I would rather have it now than not at all.

More Marley, but not at the expence of our heroes. It's Shingeki no Kyojin after all; not Yoroi no Kyojin

This arc has introduced the grey into the world of snk, I no longer see any one main character as bad or good because they all have the reasons with them, although perhaps some unjustifiable it still causes me to think about whether this person is a truly bad person or not. It really makes it quite difficult to favour or not favour people, however I do find that it makes it a lot more interesting.

I love these chapters, I really like the depth isayama is going for the viewers to know that this war isn't black and white and it really shines light on the complications of war and who really is the victims of not only war but also being the victims of a manipulative government.

I think this was a very powerful chapter, it had a lot of revelations and hints about the near future events. It is more clear than ever that the clash with the Paradis people is coming very soon. I am not sure how much more of RBA and Marcel heading towards the wall are we going to see though.

I can't shake the feeling that the "Tybur" family is connected to both the Tiber river (i.e. the fertile crescent--Garden of Eden imagery galore!) and Thor's hammer. Isayama likes to pull from both biblical sources and Norse sources for his world-building and I'm curious what's going on with this name.

Seeing as I love the Walldians and Warriors equally, I think it's fair to give the Marely side attention. How can we have a dazzling final battle with no build up, including parallels and foreshadowing in this arc? Worse comes to worse I'm sure Isayama would just add the extra chapters he needed to in order to finish the story. Let's enjoy it while it's still being published.

Isayama is trying to make us think that there aren't good sides or bad sides. And he fails. We have already seen the perspective of Marley and they are clearly the villains. Not the Eldians of Paradis. The reasons why the mainland Eldians are supposed to hate Paradis Eldians are absurd. No real life social group/ethnicity is that stupid to believe what mainland Eldians believe. Or what they do to other Eldians.

As usual with every first chapter of an SnK Volume, this chapter was kind of boring, but we did learn about the ninth titan and the family thats been in possession of it. Also, seeing all 6 of Marley's titans on the battle field at once is interesting.

I think this volume will focus on the build-up to the reveal of Amputee-Kun in the present day, whilst also showing the road to Trost from RBA's perspective, which will be awesome

The perspective change felt rushed. I wish everything about the inital time-skip to the ocean had been handled differently. We got no closure whatsoever on so many important happenings and character developments re: serumbowl and basement, and that really frustrates me. The second - 3 year - just rubbed salt in the wound. I want to enjoy the Marley arc, I really do, but this just frustrates me a lot.

Snk? More like Attack on Game of Thrones.

I really do like the perspective of the warriors and as interesting as it is, I just can't get myself attached to the characters, and that makes it tiresome for me. At the beginning I was hopeful, but so far the only Warriors I can relate to are Pieck and Falco and even that's a thin line. I am eager to see them interacting with the main cast though!

This chapter in particular was great. There's so much subtlety in every action and foreshadowing of things to come. We got a lot of interesting info (the Tybur family, 9th titan, shifter memories, TONS of Reiner background, and Porco feels ahhhhh), and also saw how the warriors are operating under the stress that Marley is putting upon them. I especially loved the Zeke's tea meeting. Zeke's aware that they're being monitored and is able to subtely warn the others, who all get it except Porco, and Reiner then saves him from saying something dissident about the Tybur family and possibly Marley. The interactions of the characters are wonderfully done, with a lot of side glances and small details to pick up on. I think Isayama's character development and world building abilities are shining so brightly in this arc. And I can't get enough of the warriors, new or old. Overall, this is swiftly becoming one of my favorite arcs so far. Also please Isayama, stop torturing Reiner, give the poor man a break ;-; My heart can't handle anymore....

I don't want to spend the entire rest of this arc with Marley, but I think it would be cool to first be reintroduced to the main cast through the new character's eyes. Of course, then we'll need to see things from the main cast's perspective again and find out what they've been up to this whole time

to be honest, i expected the 9th titan's reveal to be more epic art-wise

I think I am now more on the side of the "Warriors" than the main cast on Paradis and this thinking of mine is keeping me awake at night. I hate Isayama for this because now his "there's not bad or good side in the story" statement hit me in the face. Also fuck I have the need to hug smol RBA and know finally seeing their backstory and situation withe all the hometown and warrior thing was all I was asking for so I am loving this Marley arc but at the same time I wanna see the main cast so badly.

I want to see amputee Kuns plan.

I want to learn more of Bertolt's backstory... He's my fav next to Reiner and we know next to nothing on his backstory and motivations.

Knowing each titan's function is good. But I feel isayama could have used the page more efficiently, like not drawing large, single-panel images of titans. I feel it's kinda wasteful to use up your pages that way with not so dense information given out.

Confrontation between Warriors and SC will be super interesting but I'm kind of apprehensive about actually seeing it. It can easily turn into another serumbowl since we don't have clear enemies and everything is relative.

i feel isayama is just making some poor decisions in an attempt to make reiner more likable and while the new perspective is interesting it was introduced far too late in the game

I do find this arc interesting and I would be okay with it going for a lot longer, however I'd hope for a few chapters which go back to the 104th's in between those chapters, just a little show of where they're at during all this, I miss those guys, its been nearly half a year since we had a chapter with them. I love reiner yo he needs to be protected at all costs. But i do wanna know more about berholdt and his family. Please i need some closure on my tol boy.

I can't wait to see Historia again and see what role she will play throughout the rest of the series. To be honest, I'm concerned for her because now that she is publicly known as the queen now, Marley might try to capture her if they find out. And what will Reiner do if that happens? Ymir is no longer around to protect her so now it is his turn to owe something to Ymir. I wonder if Historia will ever meet Porco, I hope she kicks his ass, I will never forgive him for ending such a beautiful relationship.

No one is talking about this but the part where Magath says something about Zeke saying unnecessary things in the meeting has me very intrigued. I wanna know what he means, I'm overall very interested in the role Magath may play in the story. Looks like he is the only one suspecting Zeke at the moment. These chapters have been interesting and I'm in no hurry to get back to most of the main cast, but I would like to see Jean again soon. And Armin.

You know, this was a pretty boring chapter, all things considered. However, I did enjoy seeing Gabi look a bit more "human" for at least a couple of minutes and hope the Falco vs. Gabi bit isn't drawn out for too long (I feel it could get tiresome after a while). Reiner's father honestly surprised me; I didn't think we'd get to see him at all/that Reiner would even be aware of who he was, and yet...we got his perspective and I could not have been happier with what we got. Poor Reiner, but considering his scheming selfish mother (who may also be pretty delusional), it seems fitting.

Pieck and chubby cheeks baby Bertl are the only good things in this depressing arc

Reading Isayama's interview about wanting to change perspective to blur the line between hero and villain made this arc less jarring to me. However, I really want to go back to the main cast. Also, the basement reveal ironically made the series less epic in my eyes. Mainly because the idea of a war
