literally this. literally 5'2. did you SEE her in curtain calls? she was the size of a little beetle, or mayhaps an ant.

honestly one of the reasons i really like the way it harps on the contrast between what she wants to be and what she is. i do think there's something that would be lost if she looked exactly like what you would imagine a large warrior who would rock your shit looks like. but instead its the 'unassuming small thing that will hand your ass back to you' trope, except like. actually good and doesn't make me wanna throw up

but also- something i don't see as a small person trope (a niche that i didnt even KNOW i needed) is just how much of an absolute tank wigfrid is. and i think that says more about her if she was small the way she is. this little fucking... thing that won't- no matter how lethally you wound her- stay down. it's not because of raw size- or even raw strength that keeps her fighting until you snuff her out- but sheer force of will. that's fucking scary. and epic also 🤓

REANIMATED COLLAB

After literal months of planning and working on this, i can finally announce that the call for the reanimated collab is here!

Reanimated collab? What's that?

The goal is to reanimate the entirety of the Don't Starve "Forbidden Knowledge" animated short by Klei Entertainement divided in multiple parts and each part animated by a different animator!

Parts?

The original animation got cut into multiples different scenes/parts, all of which you can find in this google drive link!

You'll be able to chose multiples scene ranging from which one you'd absolutely want to some you don't mind taking, however you'll only be given a single part.

How do i get a part ?

All you need to do is fill in this Google Form and a week after this post has been uploaded you and all other participents should be mentioned on discord if you got the part!

Discord is REQUIRED to join this collab, as it is where all the informations are, make sure to join it if you want to participate or else you won't get the part. ( Reminder that discord is 13+ or more depending on where you live ) here's the discord invite! ( specators are allowed! )

Happy 10 years to Don't Starve! I have so much to thank this game for as a starting point for my art, and I've met so many wonderful people through it!

This is my take on a classic piece of official art, one of my favourites that I never got to draw.

Judge me, but Winx Club shaped my tastes. My published book involves fairies, I have another one with a fairy as the main character, another one with a group of FAIRY friends and a third one with another fairy. That's it. AND i have a Winx shirt.

I STILL haven't been able to watch the movie, but I have plans to watch the musical. The closest cinema to my house is in another city, so traveling there is out of my plans.

Another Brazilian, the first time I heard it, the twins (Akira and Tsubaki) came to mind. Although in the game they got over the divorce "quickly", in the books I made it more elaborate and they question themselves a lot if love is for them.

I think that out of all of them, Step by Step was the one I listened to the most this week. It was one of my favorites after listening to all the others on loop hahaha

this game has meant so much to me over the years, and has been (and still is) a huge artistic inspiration, so it’s been amazing to see how it has evolved (i’ve been around since the release reign of giants in 2014, how about yall?) this is my token of appreciation—it’s admirable that even after a decade, there is still more to see!

klei, thank you for all youve done so far, and i cant wait to see what you do in the future! you guys are awesome! :D

wes, warly and non-verbal communication

i know we've seen wes communicate in both pantomime and asl, the latter of which can help him with any language barriers he has with the cast if he doesn't speak english (as the only time we "hear" from him is in the english translation for his solo performance on stage, so we at least know he thinks in french. doesn't necessarily mean that he can only communicate in french since he uses asl- but i guess you could argue that asl has more visibility than lsf- whatever, point being that he at the very least doesn't speak or write in english) but i feel like not enough people have explored the possibilities of his communication with warly, who also speaks french and addresses other characters with french honorifics.

there's already a link they have in game with wes's favorite food only being able to be cooked by warly. there's also warly's constant usage of "mon ami(e)" to address characters, which i take as a sign that he can be just as warm and friendly as wes is (i mean, forgiving maxwell for imprisoning him for what was supposed to be eternity is remarkably kind.)

as for lore-based links, i'm not sure if wes lived in paris, specifically, like warly used to, but i wouldn't be surprised with the way klei has characters cross paths that you'd never expect (ie wickerbottom and willow, walter and woodie) that they could have potentially ran into one another but have no recollection of it. furthermore- it could be kinda sweet to imagine that warly could have seen wes on the streets of paris down on his luck after his shift and taken time out of his night to give him some nice fresh food.

but to be real i really just wanted to write this because i had this one thought of warly knowing some level of french sign language (maybe working on it with one of wickerbottom's books. that lady does have access to a bunch of knowledge, why not books on sign language of all kinds?) and surprising wes when he comes back to base after a long day by signing some sort of equivalent to "i'm so glad you came back safe, mon ami." and wes immediately feeling seen, signing back thank you with a smile, feeling like not only is there someone who knows french, but also is willing to go out of his way to learn to communicate with him in a way that considers wes's own abilities and to find a way to further include him in exchanges between the survivors.

additionally, woodie could join in on the fun. i already imagine as a result of his quotes that he has a pretty heavy canadian english accent, if he has any experience with french it'd likely be quebecois french. so i imagine wes and warly hearing him try to communicate with them in whatever limited french he knows in an accent they're not at all exposed to and simply blinking in silence at him before warly says "come again?"

but back to the two frenchmen. warly could ask wes what he would like to eat by pointing at pictures, sure, or just making whatever he wants and sharing with the other survivors, but i like the idea of warly being considerate enough to sign to wes in lsf, asking him that way instead and getting a direct answer. and the answer is almost always crepes.
