Chapter 1: Fly to My Room
Tumblr media
In the heart of Seoul, I rented a beautiful house from Air B&B, which seems like it once was a cozy traditional Korean family home, apart from the extensive collection of ceramics and paintings that make it feel more like a boutique gallery. To me, it feels like a warm hug. The bustling Meyongdong neighborhood boasts a spectacular view of the famous Namsan Tower and is walkable to a random hole-in-the-wall café I ate at last time with "world-famous Jajangmyeon."  I'm always sure to book my lodging near the local best in food wherever I stay being a self-proclaimed foodie, and there's nothing like a good bowl of Bibimbap on a rainy afternoon to give you the feels for this city. Seoul is the type of place that sings you a pretty song and then in the same breath, blows cigarette smoke in your face. You can't blame her, though, she's been through some shit.
I slept like the dead that first night. The bed feels like a nest for little me, with buttery-soft cotton sheets that smell faintly of tea tree. Heavenly. There's a big, walnut-colored rattan light fixture above the bed that emits beautiful little amber twinkles of light all over the room. Honestly, it's probably bought from Ikea, but I'm easily impressed by aesthetic.
I feel good here. Seoul does have something about it.  A soul of its own and being here for the second time already feels better than the last, but I do tend to over-glorify shiny new things. I'm easily impressed. Maybe I'm just a sucker for romanticism and still look for art and beauty in everything, despite my strict work ethic and the forced realism I pour into every aspect of my life.
First things first this rainy Tuesday morning- introductions and the first team meeting with the CEO of BigHit Music Productions, Mr. Bang Si-hyuk, and his entourage.  I'm thrilled that this new contract includes a professional full-time translator, something that wasn't overseen by the good people at Hyundai, whom I worked with during my last trip.  They must have put too much faith in my skills. Needless to say, we spent most of our time using Google translate.  It was a mental drain, but they provided plenty of Soju and we all laughed our asses off waiting for that robotic voice to try to convey everything from emissions to emotions.  (It isn't good at either.)
I've only had a bag of "Nongshim Banana Kick'' crackers since the flight, so I decided to get a bite somewhere on the way to the train. I pulled on my black Burberry trench coat and pop open my umbrella.  It's a slick-back ponytail kind of day in this humidity. There isn't enough Moroccan oil in the world for the humid weather in South Korea.
Pulling the door closed behind me, the hustle and bustle of the city is much apparent.
A friendly face greets me on the sidewalk, an elderly man in a green bucket hat and rain slicker, whom I assume is the property manager here, fixing something on the front gate.
I timidly blurt out my first official Korean words of the day.
"joh-eun achim-ieyo", "good morning".  It sounded like I spoke through a mouthful of oatmeal.  Jesus, I'm off to a great start already.
The man looked over at me with a slight hesitation on his face, but politely greeted me in return, introducing himself.
"I'm Park Min-Jun, the owner." and it also seems like he asks me if I'm the guest for the next two weeks.
I open Google, just in case, and prepare my response.
"eung, nae ileum-eun Maggie"- Yes my name is Maggie, and I bow. "naega geu jalileul jal dolbolge."- I'll take good care of the place.
He bows in return and hands me the mail key from his pocket. He explains that I may receive packages here if I wish and to use box 433 at the end of the path. I thank him, bow, and continue down Myeongdong Street, a little sheepishly.
You think your accent sounds so good when you practice on Duo Lingo, but that little shithead owl won't critique you on the important stuff like how natural or awful your accent is. He will, however, jump up your ass you if you haven't opened the app for more than a day.
“Lazy morning mouth," I say to myself, with a sigh.  “Caffeine.”
As I search Google maps for the nearest pit stop on my walking route to the train, my phone vibrates with an incoming text message.  It's Amy, my manager.
Hey in Seoul! Rob wants you to make sure that you read through your contract thoroughly and make sure it’s translated well enough for you not to get thrown under the bus on any time constraints. Chloe just came back from Hong Kong and the deal with Panasonic was terminated prematurely. They claimed breach of contract on her.  Something about a deadline which she knew nothing of.
Be careful. -Amy
Oof.  Sorry to hear that. I have my own translator this time, right? I think I’ll be good. I’m careful. Chloe didn’t even want that deal to begin with. Go figure.
I had a feeling. Just mind your manners.  You’ve been to Seoul before. You know it’s easy to get yourself dirty looks just for breathing wrong.
It’s not as bad as you think, but yeah, I get what you mean. All good!
Good luck. -Amy
Amy gets nervous whenever Rob is pissed about something.  The trickle-down effect is real. I can’t blame her, but she does blow shit out of proportion all the time.
I dropped by the first café I passed, a cute walk-up window beside a nail salon, and ordered a latte called an “Einspänner”, oddly enough. I had to Google that too. A German latte?  In Seoul? Apparently, it was hugely popular at this place, as suggested by the barista.
"It's the favorite," she told me.
Who's favorite, I wonder. It’s actually damn delicious with vanilla cream foam on top that could have almost passed for ice cream.
After a few sips to energize me, I set out for the train stop to Yongsan with an earbud in one ear with some random podcast on social economics, and in the other ear, the busy town cacophony with a bouncing K-Pop song being pumped out of a very pink boutique. Pictures of various idols in all their glory beaming out from the racks outside, a girl dressed in a bandeau top, choker, and shorts with a glittery purple fringe skirt handing out flyers for what looks like a big spring sale.
"hana gajyeoga chingu!"  Take one, friend! "It's a big sale today."
As she reaches out to hand me a flier and I nod to her, trying to grab the flier with both hands (in Korean culture, it's polite to receive anything anyone gives you with both hands.) I struggle, holding my latte and reach awkwardly toward the flier, giggling nervously and almost losing the damn latte in the process.  The shop girl holds both of her hands out in an attempt to stabilize anything I might drop and we both laugh hesitantly.
"Gamsahabnida," thank you, I say.
We both bow and I glance past her at the rack of sparkling idol posters and photo cards.
God, is everyone flawless in the world of K-Pop?, I thought to myself. Immaculate complexions, impeccable style. If they aren't 100% Photoshopped,  this makes me think about seriously upping my skincare routine. Now, I know a handful of K-pop songs just because Hana usually has them playing in the background at her place most of the time, but I couldn't name any of these beautiful faces staring back at me right now.
There’s one in particular who has purple hair.  He’s dressed in a white blazer, wearing small silver hoop earrings and a captivatingly gorgeous smile through full, glossy lips.  Oh, is he wearing contacts too? Blue or...purple? Wow. The dude legit seemed to be staring into very my fiber of being. Those eyes are absolutely killer. He's stunning.
"Damn," I mutter under my breath. The skin on my arms prickled.
My new shop bestie turned around to see what the hell I was ogling at and she went to pick up a few of the photocards for me to look at.  I laugh at myself, snapping out of my daze and it takes everything I have not to reach with both hands again. Instead, I clasp them together in a prayer-like plea around my coffee cup and take a few steps away.
"No, thank you. I...I appreciate it, though ''aniyo gwaenchanhseubnida..." She bows, and I bow.
Flustered and per-usual clumsy, I lose my footing a little, but glance around and straighten up to find my bearings again, taking off for the train stop about 100 yards away. I felt the shop girl watching me for a few dozen yards. She's probably thinking I must have spiked my morning coffee.
As I find my seat on the train, my phone rings.  It's my translator, Ming-Hee.
"joh-eun achim-ieyo, Good morning, and welcome to Seoul, Maggie!  We look forward to your arrival.  The door code is 15338.  The East entrance with the big gold 'B' on the door. Check in with reception and I'll meet you on the 17th floor."
I quickly punch the code into my phone's keypad and return the greeting in first Korean, then English.
"I'm on the train and will see you in about 20 minutes, Ming.  Thank you for the code!"  I politely replied.
"Yes, looking forward to your arrival," Ming replies flatly.
Settling in for the short ride, I thought of the K-Pop shop and something  Hana once said to me: "You gotta go find your 'bias' eventually." Apparently, 'Bias' is K-pop speak for your ultimate crush.  Girl’s crazy.  She always lectures me about how I put my work before everything else, even love... especially love. I've worked too hard for what's going on in my career to have some hype boy screw it up now.  I always tell Hana to lay off the K-Dramas. That stuff will give you high expectations, Delulu, and deep disappointment.
Hana will be pleased to know that on my first day back in Seoul, I coincidentally picked my first K-pop "bias", at least.   I have no idea what his name is or what group he's in, but he's got lilac purple hair and almost made me lose my Einspänner all over Meyongdong Street.
There are a few things that impress me about cityscapes, being how cold and lifeless they can seem to be, but there's an interesting non-linear quality to the skyline of Seoul. It's not uniform by any means.  Seoul appears mountainous from a distance. Most of the city is tucked and hugged by hills.  As the morning sun illuminates the landscape, a layer of fog envelopes a bridge stretching across the Han River, and flocks of white birds float and dive through the vapor.
I reach my destination and it's a classic glass-paned cubed skyscraper with "BigHit" in big steel letters across the face of it. I make my way to the entrance with a gold 'B' as Ming-Hee instructed me and pull out my phone to punch in the door code. Success.
The foyer is wide open and sleek, well-lit, and modernly beautiful with lots of metal and wood accents, glass bubble chandeliers, and polished black marble floors. Walking toward the receiving desk, I spot two smartly dressed women chatting with coffee mugs in neatly manicured hands and the latest copy of Soompi magazine open to a page of a glossy spread of celebrity paparazzi photos. It looked to me as if they were fully engrossed in tea-spillage as they both looked up from the page to notice me, looking a bit annoyed.
I greeted them both in Korean, bowed, and proceeded in English to explain who I was and that I had an appointment with their marketing team. I placed my Focus company badge on the marble surface of the countertop and smiled, hoping everything I said got across clearly. One woman in an indigo suit with long, sleek hair and sparkling blue crystal dangle earrings stepped in with confidence and appeared to understand what I was requesting. She smiled politely with a bow and took my I.D. to make a copy.
"Good morning, Miss Marsden, you're expected by Mr. Bang and his team on the 19th floor. Allow me to escort you. My name is Mina."
I bow again and reply gratefully, following her graceful heel clack to the elevators.
Inside the elevator, there's some lofi jazz music playing softly and it feels like it's probably a chill rendition of a pop song.  It's like those ambient YouTube videos with the cute racoon in an orange hoodie and headphones that I usually put on in the background while I'm reading or studying.
Mina turns to me and gives my outfit a lookover. Today, I put on a sleek, but not tight black pencil skirt, a soft cream Brochu cashmere sweater, and Versace slingback pumps complete with my favorite black Burberry trench, pearl and gold Elsa Peretti dangle earrings, and a slicked-back ponytail. Not bad, if I say so. If a Korean woman approves, I win today.  They don't fuck around with fashion in Seoul.
"Have you been having a good experience in Korea so far?" she asks.
"It's been nice, so far. I just arrived last night and I'm excited to get to work on this project." I reply, somewhat formally.  Mina looks down at her feet, seemingly unenthused by my answer, and nods, turning a gold bracelet on her wrist that has a few charms dangling from it.
"Your first time in Seoul?" She looks at me with a smile again and shifts her weight to the opposite foot.
"No, it's my second time here, but it's good to be back again.  Seoul is a fascinating city." Mina nods again with arched eyebrows and a small laugh.
"It is! I hope you enjoy your time here." As the elevator dings and opens to the 19th floor, Mina gestures for the opening and I step out. I catch her giving me a lookover as I exit and I smile politely as the doors of the elevator close behind me.
I look left and right and see a woman standing near a water feature. She has short hair and gold-framed glasses dressed in a neat, black pantsuit holding a tablet in one hand and has a furrow in her brow.
"Miss Marsden, I presume? I'm Ming-Hee and I'll be your assistant translator, also helping you with etiquette and such things while you're with us. I hope I can be helpful, and if you have any questions, please ask."
Oh, my handler, I think to myself jokingly.  She seems tense and ready to get the show on the road. Ming-Hee gives the air of no-bullshit and all business sprinkled with some courtesy.
I bow back and reply, "Thanks very much, may I call you Ming for short?
"You may call me Ming or Mary, my Christian name.  Both are fine."  She replies shortly.
I nod to confirm.
Ming-hee smiles slightly and glances at the clock face over the elevator door.
I didn't think I was running late. I wasn't supposed to be there for another ten minutes.
Ming started down the hallway with a gesture to follow and picked up the pace as soon as I took a step.  Trailing Ming hurriedly, I notice my phone is vibrating inside my shoulder bag and take it out to see who's calling.  It's Hana.
Oh, shit, I think to myself.  I forgot she wanted me to call once I landed in Seoul, just to check in to hear that I landed safely, but I was so exhausted from the flight last night that I spaced out calling altogether.
Ming gives me a sideways glance, almost a warning that now isn't the best time to answer the call, so I quickly hit the ignore button and text a quick "I'm good, call you in about an hour... maybe." Send.
I think I must be vibing off of Ming's nervous energy and start to feel a little self-conscious, doubting myself.  A barrage of thoughts wash in like am I bringing to the table if not my charms and brainpower? I don't speak Korean, I'm still fairly fresh out of college and I just woke up in Seoul this morning, jet lag still hanging on tight. I suddenly think this may not be as chill as my last trip here dealing with the good people of Hyundai. I'm really letting this woman wreck my ego right now and I feel my heart pounding and breaths becoming quick.  Since middle school, I've had panic attacks and recently became friends with Zanny.  It's just been months since my last encounter with the anxiety demon. Why now??
Ming turns a corner and we're now standing in front of a couple of large double doors with burnished gold handles. I stop and think about the grounding exercises that my therapist taught me.
Find five things around you to focus on. One thing you can see, something you can smell, one blue thing, one red thing, and something you can touch with your fingertips.
I look around quickly. I see various plants in gold urns, I can smell freshly brewed coffee, there's a long-tailed bluebird in an oil painting, and Ming's patent leather Dior bag is red. Finally, I touch the cashmere fringe on my sweater and roll it between my fingers. I take a deep breath and start to feel a little calmer. Breathe.

Hi sweetie💕. Can I request a short love reading for ot8 E’Last? I know their energy sucked bc of the general reading you did for them (which I ty for❤️) so please take you’re time if it’s too bad/draining. Ty you again 💕
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: Take this with a grain of salt, energy constantly shifts. I'm not an expert and interpretations could not be the most correct, it's for entertainment purposes. Reading done 23/08.
Hi! Thank you <3 I have to say that this time, the energy of some members kind of tones down a little, some still have a dense and heavy energetic aura, am not really surprised since the general reading for them was a little less than a month.
E'last ~ Love Reading
Choi In (8w - queen of wands rev.)
Really gives me a casual and passionate relationship at this moment. Even if this is more casual, it feels like they are moving quite fast, but might have some issues related to jealousy or even some troubles because of overworking.
Seung Yeop (the emperor - king of swords rev.)
Looks like a really stable and traditional relationship. Feels like it's more about feeling with the head than feeling with your heart. I don't know but I feel like this is more like a convenience? like they are used to being together and it works but doesn't have this love and passion usually you find.
Rano (the fool - the star)
Right now he is not in a relationship but something is coming soon in his life. This someone is going to help him heal some issues and make him enjoy life (take in mind, this could happen if he allows this person to enter his life.)
Baek Gyeul (the hierophant rev. - queen of swords rev.)
Looks like he and his partner don't go for the typical traditional relationship. Right now it seems like they are having a rough patch, they have some values where they don't see eye to eye, and maybe there is someone that is not content with this relationship (a 3rd party)
Ro Min (4s rev. - knight wands - page wands)
He and his partner are slowly recovering from a rough patch. Looks like the communication between the two had gotten better and strengthened the relationship. A lot of new passion.
Won Hyuk (8p - 8s - the devil)
Right now he is not in a committed relationship, it feels like he is having fun and enjoying casual relationships. He has some options, nothing too serious, he is not ready for intense feelings. There are some wounds from previous relationships that he needs to heal, he is the one that needs to take that step first.
Won Jun (4c - 10s rev - page wands)
It feels like his relationship right now is stuck, the illusion is wearing off, maybe the honeymoon phase has ended and he is rethinking if the relationship is worth it. They need to talk it out to reach an agreement.
Ye Jun (judgment rev. - page of wands - 6s)
He is in a relationship. Unfortunately, I feel that someone was not the most faithful here. Looks like they had a rough patch recently but at that moment some of them had seen some other people, I don't know if the other person knows, but there are rumors that need to be clarified between the two.

Only 2 episodes until the final episode of 'Red Single Heart'...
Tumblr media
The story of Lee Joon, Kang Han-na, Jang Hyuk, and Park Ji-yeon, who go back and forth on a tight tightrope, is running towards the end.
KBS 2TV's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Red Single Heart' (directed by Yoo Young-eun, written by Park Pil-joo, produced by G&G Production), aired every Monday and Tuesday at 9:30 pm, is an unprecedented ' It captured the hearts of small screens by creating a 'Romantic Romance of the Court'.
In the midst of this, 'Red Single Heart', which has only two episodes left until the final episode, is planning to further maximize the immersion of the play by revealing a special spectating point that you can't take your eyes off of until the end.
◆ Lee Jun-Kang Han-na, excitement → sadness A romance between two people! What will their relationship be like? In the 14th episode, Lee Tae (Lee Jun) heard the news of Yoo Jung (Kang Han-na)'s reunion, saying, "I'm sorry. looked at On the other hand, she angered about the death of Dong-geum (Ah Yoon-seo) and the dethronment of Choi Ga-yeon (Park Ji-yeon), as well as over the poisoning of Lee Tae. Lee Tae, who had been feeling uncomfortable throughout Yoo Jung's story, left her seat, and the sincere conversation between the two of them brought tears to the eyes of the viewers.
However, when Yoo-jeong found out that it was Lee Tae who made the contrast convergence and put the country in jeopardy, a new phase came to their relationship once again. She felt betrayed by his play, and the tension between the two made her hands sweat. Attention is focused on what will happen to the fate of the 'Reason Couple' who repeats getting closer and further away.
◆Jang Hyuk, will you finally bring down Park Ji-yeon, who sat down with my own hands? "I will dethrone Big Mama!" Park Gye-won (Jang Hyuk) couldn't stand her Choi Ga-yeon's brutality, which was getting worse as her days went on, and eventually pointed her sword at her. As a result, he was locked up in my office building, and to the question of contrast, "Are you really planning to kill me?", the heart of the left-hander who answered, "It's just deplorable that I couldn't kill Mama," made the viewers' hearts shiver.
At the end of episode 14, Lee Tae added coolness by saying that he would use Park Gye-won as a 'hounding dog'. Anti-government officials, including the left, were ordered by the king to write down the name of the Yeokdang, so Park Gye-won asked for a private study. At Lee Tae's words to offer the Daejeon as a sacrificial sacrificial sacrificial sacrificial sacrificial sacrificial service, the left sergeant said, "Park Gye-won, a new member of the government, I will dethrone Dae Dae-mama by following the will of His Majesty!" is leaning
◆ Concentrate on the stories of various characters and their future moves! On the other hand, the story of various characters struggling to survive each draws attention. In particular, for the sake of her beloved daughter Jo Yeon-hee (Choi Ri), attention is focused on what kind of sanctions Jo Won-pyo (Heo Seong-tae), who has been observing Choi Ga-yeon's tyranny, will be subjected to because of Lee Tae's rebellion. In addition, she wonders what kind of end will be faced by Jeong Eui-gyun (Hado Kwon), who suffered the death of Hye-gang (Oh Seung-hoon), whom she cherished like her own son, and Jo Yeon-hee, who has survived once again thanks to her father (父親). .

Chapter 1: No Big Steps
Jia reaches the airport and finds a car waiting for her, she remembers her uncle telling her that he’d send his driver to pick her up. She texted her uncle after reaching home. Collapsing on the bed, she let out a long sigh. She missed her room. She missed her home. “Urghh…jet lag.” She started to wonder how the chairman would be, from what she has heard, he was a total maniac, ruthless, egotistic and had a bad temper. She had to be careful around this one, she could not let her plans go south just in the beginning after all.
She woke up as her alarm rang at 8 in the morning, she still had to get used to the time zone difference and set a new sleep schedule, but today was important and comfort was a second concern. She took a shower and put on a black dress with zebra stripes, burgundy-coloured boots and a black hat. She finished her look with a gold chain necklace and with a bold makeup. After taking her sling bag, she stepped out of her room and found her uncle setting some side dishes on the dining table.
“Samchon!” She yelled in a jolly and excited voice, as if she was a child again and hugged her uncle.
“Good Morning, Jia. I have missed you so much. See, all your favourite dishes.”
Jia looked at all the dishes on the table in awe, “I have missed you too. WOW, it’s been so long since I had authentic Korean food! Thank You!”
“Sit down and eat all you want. And why are you all dressed up at 8 in the morning?”
“I want to visit your workplace.”
Seung Hyuk sighed disappointingly. “This is why I forbade you from coming. Didn’t you get a lesson after what happened when you were working against GK? You nearly died. Jiaya, Babel is more dangerous than GK. You don’t know…”
“I know, Samchon. I know very well, that’s why I am doing this. And the part that I don’t know, I will know soon. I can’t sit back forever and let you dive right into an ocean full of sharks.”
“Jia..look.”
“Please, don’t stop me. I promise I’ll be more careful this time. Trust me.”
“What exactly are you trying to do?”
“Well, for now, I just need to know this company well. No big steps. Also, I need to meet Cha Young, I missed her so much.” Cha Young and Jia were very close friends, but Jia cut contacts with her after the GK incident happened. She wanted to lie low for some time.
“Cha Young..does not work in Wusang anymore. It is a long story.”
“Okay..do you know where does she work now? I will just go there.”
“I know, but if you want to work in Babel, you can’t be friends with Cha Young. She’s fighting against them.”
“Suddenly? Something really bad must have happened. Now, I definitely need to see her. Don’t worry about Babel. I know how to con people; I did learn things from GK.”
“Fine, fine. Do whatever you want, it’s not like you are going to listen to me anyway.”
They leave for Wusang after having breakfast and as soon as Jia sets foot in the company, she sees a guy stumbling around sheepishly, carrying a black backpack and few papers in his hands.
“Oh, Good Morning, Boss. Ms. Choi is looking for you, she is very angry. Vincenzo is onto something again.”
“Uhh…okay I’ll go see her. Jia, you can take a look around.”
“Don’t worry, Boss. I’ll accompany her.” He said with an innocent smile.
“Jia, don’t do anything stupid without informing me.” Seung Hyuk said with a grimace, he did not want to leave her alone with Han Seok but if he refused now, it would only create more suspicion.
“I’ll be alright, Samchon. You should go now.”
Jia looked at the guy who was still smiling, “So, what’s your name?”
“Jang Jun Woo. Nice to meet you.” He extended his hand and surprisingly, he was good at English, his accent sounded American.
“Han Jia.” Jia shook his hand firmly. “Did you live abroad?”
“Oh..yes…I studied in New York. By the way, what should I call you? You seem younger but I don’t want to talk informaly.” He made a pout and said, “Boss will kill me.”
“Just call me Jia. He won’t kill you.” Jia said while laughing.
“Are you going to join Wusang? I heard you have been a legal advisor.”
“Nope. I am going to join Babel.”
“B...Babel?” Jun Woo stuttered.
“Why are you so shocked? Do you think I’m not good enough?”
“No..no no..it’s just..Babel is very demanding, and the CEO is kind of…”
“I know. I have heard things. Words and rumours don’t really scare me though.”
“Wow! You really are one of a kind. What position will you apply for?”
“The chairman’s P.A.”
“Isn’t being a P.A. too low a post for you?”
“We have just met. Are you a spy or a detective or something? C’mon now, don’t spoil the mood by mentioning work. You are supposed to show me around.”
“Umm, sorry. I did not mean to offend you, I’m not very good at socializing.” He said with the sheepish smile again.
She nodded and gave him a pat on the shoulder, “Don’t worry.”
Later at night, Han Seok told Han Seo to give Jia the post of his Personal Secretory without interviewing her.
“Okay, Hyung Nim. Is she your acquaintance?”
“I am trying to find that out. It would be great if she is, and if she’s not. I’ll make her one. Can’t let go of a GK employee.”
“I don’t..really understand. Do you already know her?”
“Oh, my poor brother, if you understood everything you wouldn’t be my puppet. Don’t think too much, hmm?” He said while mocking his brother, like he always did. “For now, just know that she is Mr. Han’s niece. Also, keep a close eye on her.”
Han Seo nodded in agreement, but his heart and mind disagreed. This incessant war between what he wanted to do and what he did has been going on since he was young. Alas! He had no choice.

My Protector (1)
Tumblr media
I stood at the airport waiting for Hyuk, or Mr Byun. I was his assistant, personal assistant to be straight. Someone who would run arrands for him, all the above.
Straightening out my blazer, I waited patiently when I saw he was being dragged out and into a room.
Tumblr media
Y/n: Ahh! Mr Byun? What, are you doing? I asked the security as I ran after them.
Time skip
Hyuk's father was yelling at him, for his stupidity. Next thing I knew, his father was yelling at me when all of a sudden I was smacked in the face causing me to fall to the flour. I was on my knees when he came at me again Je-hoon stood in front of me, begging Mr Byun not to hit me.
Mr Byun looked down at me, as he hit Je-hoon in the face telling him to bend down as he took his bat and hit him on his rear. Shutting my eyes, I felt heart broken for all that he went through just to protect me and yet he never seemed to stop.
After everyone left Je-hoon came to me, walking slow as he helped me up looking at my face.
Je-hoon: Are you okay? He asked, as he took out his hanky and wiped the blood away on my lip.
Y/n: I...I'm fine. But what about you Je-hoon? I asked, as I pulled his hand away from wipping the blood.
Je-hoon: I'm okay. Promise. He said, with a smile as he took my face in his hand placing his thumb on my lip.
Swallowing, I blinked fast as I cleared my throat. Nodding my head, I thanked Je-hoon and walked out of the room heading home.
Once I got to my apartment/flat, a building where my friends Jun and Je-hoon lived was great and seeing them always made me happy. But after today, I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. After taking a long warm shower, I got dressed in comfortable clothes and sat on my bed reading the book Je-hoon gave me for my birthday.
Smiling I read the book Atlantis, that he gave me on my birthday. I was deep in thought when I heard someone at the door. Sighing I got up, as I placed my book on the bed and ran to the door.
Opening I saw Je-hoon, standing with a box of food in his hand.
Je-hoon: I brought you something...i...i made it myself. I hope you like it.
Y/n: Je-hoon-
Je-hoon: Its something soft, so that you don't hurt your lip further.
Smiling I took the box from his hand, as I took his other hand in mine pulling him into my apartment with me.
Je-hoon: W...what are you doing?
Y/n: If I'm eating, your eating with me. I spoke, as I started unpacking the food.
It was Hobakjuk, Gimbap and Japchae.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Placing it on the table, I brought bowls, spoons, chopsticks and everything we needed to start eating. As I sat, Je-hoon was still just standing there.
Y/n: Well...arent you going to sit? I questioned him.
Je-hoon: Yes. He replied, as he sat down.
Je-hoon looked so uncomfortable which was strange, I saw him struggling to unclip his cufflinks which caused me to move around the table to help him.
After I helped Je-hoon, pull up his shirt we both started eating in silence.
Y/n: The food is lovely. I dint know you could cook. Why didn't you tell me?
Je-hoon: I didn't see the need to. He said, as he ate some soup.
Y/n: Je-hoon. I laughed, as I bend over the table using my finger to remove a drop of soup that was a little lower than his bottom lip. There. I said, as I looked into his eyes.
I didn't know why, but at that moment my heart started beating fast causing me to blink a few times as I backed up.
Je-hoon: I...i should go. He said fast as he got up, grabbed his coat and walked dout of the door.
The next day
Today was a new day, and strangely I wasn't going to help Hyuk out at all. Ever since his father threw him out, cut him off and all that, I was send to the planning committee. It was strange to me that I wasn't made Woo Sung's personal assistant.
On arriving at work, they showed me to my booth where I'd be working with Je-hoon and many other people. I had two boxes with me, one I placed under my table and the other I had in my hand as I walked over to Je-hoon.
Y/n: Here. I made these for you last night...to say thank you for everything. I said fast as I gave him Songpyeon and Daifuku.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Je-hoon: You shouldn't have done this.
Y/n: I wanted to. Knowing I could do something in return for you, makes me happy. Besides that, I love to make things. I said with a smile as I waved, walking back to my booth as I collected the other box and headed to Jun, Hyuk and the others.
Jun: Awe...you made all of this?
Y/n: Yes. I wanted to surprise you all. I hope you like it. Something special for my family.
Hyuk: This is the perfect way to start our day.
Jun: Uh...huh,we just need to put it in our locker for later. She said with a wink, as she fixed my dress that moved up slightly.
Tumblr media
Y/n: Thank you, Jun. I have to go before I get in trouble. I laughed, as I turned and ran down the hall.
Usually I didn't run for anything, at work in high heels but this was necessary. I wasn't actually supposed to be down at the cleaning team's, office or talk to the staff but I didn't care. Yes, the only one that knew I came down here and ate with them was Je-hoon but he was so sweet and calm about it that he kept it secret.
As I ran down the hall, turning the corner I ran into a hard chest. Making me stumble back, when his hands grabbed my arms.
Looking up I saw none other than Woo-sung. Breathing in fast, I felt a wave of fear crawling up in me I was terrified of what he might do or say.
Woo-sung: What are you doing here? He questioned, as he still held onto me.
Y/n: I...i-
Hyuk: She just brought me something. Hyuk answered, as he stood behind me.
Woo-sung: I see. He let me go, as he turned to walk away.
Catching my breath, Hyuk was next to me in an instant placing his hand on my back and shoulder.
Hyuk: Are you okay?
Y/n: Y...yes. Yes. I'm fine.
Hyuk: You shouldn't come back down here again, I don't want you to get into trouble.
Y/n: No, its fine. I just got a fright, I have to go back upstairs...see you tonight. I waved as I ran again.
On arriving at my booth, there was a note saying I should go to Mr Byun Woo-sung's office. Nodding, I got up and walked to his office slightly scared of what he might do. Knocking on the door, I was called in and saw him sitting at his desk looking calm.
Y/n: You called Mr Byun.
Woo-sung: Yes, please take a seat.
Nodding, I took a seat across from his desk. Looking down at my hands, as I played with my fingers.
Woo-sung: So, tell me why exactly were you down by the cleaning staffs lockers or with my brother? He asked, as he got up walking closer to me. Your not his assistant anymore, so why should you care?
Y/n: I...i was taking him some treats that I made.
Woo-sung: Why? He said, as he crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned on his desk.
Y/n: I think of him as a friend sir. I wanted to to bring him something to enjoy with lunch, I didn't think about the-
Woo-sung: This is your fist and final warning, you go downstairs, bring him anything or look at him when your at work understand? He said, in a stern voice.
Walking around me, he placed his hands on my shoulders as he whispered in my ear.
Woo-sung: Don't provoke me y/n, I won't hesitate. He spoke, as he walked back to his chair and smirked. You may leave.
Y/n: Yes sir. I said, walking out fast.
After work
I sat down on my couch, knees to my chest as I thought about today. The entire event kept playing in my mind, making me shake my head.
I got up, going to Je-hoon and Hyuk's apartment. After knocking the door was swung open by Hyuk, giving me a smile he hugged me as he ran out of the door.
Y/n: Uh...w...where is Hyuk going?
Je-hoon: His going to have dinner with some of his friends.
Y/n: From work?
Je-hoon: Yes. Is there something I can help with?
Y/n: Yes. I need to talk to you, if that okay.
Je-hoon: Sure. He replied, stepping aside for me to enter.
Sitting down on the couch, Je-hoon sat next to me as I bit my lip.
Je-hoon: So, what did you want to talk about?
Y/n: I...um. Today after I went to give Jun and Hyuk...and the others some treats, I ran back up to the office when I ran into Woo-sung.
Je-hoon: What?
Y/n: After a while he called me down to his office, and started talking to me. Saying that I should stay away from Hyuk...staying away from him during work, not to look at him or talk to him even give him anything. Then he said he I shouldn't provoke him, and that he wouldn't hesitate.
Je-hoon: He threatened you?
Y/n: Yes. Je-hoon, I didnt want to say anything to anyone but your my best friend and I can't keep secrets from you. I said, wipping away my tears.
Je-hoon: I'm glad you did. He said, scooting closer as he pulled me into his side. Holding me to his chest, as tears fell from my eyes. Don't worry, I'll keep you safe. Je-Hun whispered as he ran his hand down my hair.
Pulling away, I looked up at him our eyes meeting as he brushed away the stray tears from my face. His hands stayed on my cheek, leaning in I swallowed as I looked up at him. Eyes slowly closing as my lips grazed his, follinging us both kissing each other.
I ran my hand up to his neck, pulling him closer as i didn't want to let him go. After a few seconds, Je-hoon pulled away as he placed his forehead to mine.
Je-hoon: Y/n. I like you...a lot. But I don't think, I'm ready for this. He said getting up. Having a public relationship, just isn't what I can hablve right now...its too hard.
Y/n: I like you too Je-hoon. Do you really want to be in a relationship?
Je-hoon: Yes. He replied trunking around to face me. With you, but-
Y/n: Then let's keep it secret, from everyone. We won't say a word, act normal around each other at work, and when we all are together...whatever it takes to be with you I'll do. I smiled, as I took his hand.
Je-hoon: Really?
Y/n: Whatever it takes.
Je-hoon smiled, as he leaned down kissing me once again followed by a strong warm hug.

Dear Yuletide writer,
Thank you so much for taking on my request! This is my very first Yuletide fic exchange, so I'm very excited. I hope this letter finds you well and that Yuletide is a welcome distraction for all the mess that is the world as of right now.
Onto the stories, where I’d like to say that first and foremost I enjoy when my stories are a bit dark as I tend to like rather morally grey up to downright villainous characters. I appreciate a happy ending, but they’re not essential for me to enjoy a story. I’m happy with whichever rating from G to E, although I do prefer there being some plot alongside the porn, should there be porn. I’d be overjoyed with the ships I mentioned
Things I like in a fic (gen):
Character study and/or reflection on a character’s motivations
Dialogue!
Unreliable narrators
Dysfunctional family/sibling relationships
Manipulation and mindgames
Power imbalances
Violence
Hurt & Comfort
Canon Divergence AUs
Pre-canon / backstories
Non-linear story telling
Characters being repressed
Codependency
Dark humour
Enemies or Rivals-to-lovers
Obsession (be it one-sided or mutual)
Outsider POV
Ships and Smut:
Belligerent and/or Unresolved Sexual Tension
One-sided attraction/lust (especially if it ends up not being one-sided)
Kissing everywhere but on the mouth when two characters have a sexually charged but otherwise complicated relationship and kissing on the lips would be crossing a line (I hope that’s somewhat understandable)
D/s dynamics
Awkward, weird sex
When F/M, a focus on female pleasure
Non-penetrative sex (penetrative is fine as well!)
Possessive sex
Spontaneous sex
Phone sex
Dirty talk
Humiliation
Non-con/dub-con
Sibling incest
Forbidden pleasures
Infidelity and the guilt that comes with it from the cheater
Jealousy
Do Not Wants:
Mundane AUs especially in period dramas and/or futuristic settings
Overt fluff
A/B/O
Unrequested sex changes to canon characters
Crossovers
Time Travel
Reincarnation
Requests:
1. Vincenzo - Jang Han-seo, Jang Jun-woo | Jang Han-seok, Choi Myung-hee
I chose Jang Han Seo, Jang Han Seok, and Choi Myung Hee because as someone who finds herself always fascinated with the antagonists (even if Han Seo does switch sides later on, and you may include Han Seung-hyuk since he’s also a part of the squad), I would love to read something about the Babel & Wusang "””family”””.
I’ll be happy with any potential ship constellation between the characters, with a slight preference towards Jangcest, Han-seok x Myung-hee, Han-seo/Seung-hyuk, and Seung-hyuk/Myung-hee. If you go for Jangcest, I’d only request that Han-seo is at least 15 or 16.
Prompts:
Pre-Canon AU for the Jang brothers set around the time where their father was ill.
Post-Canon where all of them survive and have to navigate their lives after the fall of the Babel Group
2. Ready Player One (2018 movie) - Nolan Sorrento, F’nale Zandor
As a villain enthusiast, both Sorrento and F'nale were characters that immediately caught my interest when watching the film, and when I found out that Andy Weir had written a fanfic called "Lacero" with Sorrento as the central character, which then was met with enthusiasm by the writer of the Ready Player One novel, I really wanted to read more about him. F'nale as a tough-as-nails henchwoman made me wish for more of her, especially since she is an original character in the movie and there’s plenty of chance to expand on her.
Ship-wise, I do like the scenario of them having mad tension that might get resolved, with both of them wrestling for control but not wanting to give in to the other.
Potential prompts:
How F’nale came to work for IOI, whether she was recruited by Nolan or approached him
Them plotting to take over the world find the Egg and at the same time trying to play against each other while knowing the other is a valuable ally
F’nale having aspirations to get rid of Nolan but still playing the part of the somewhat loyal henchwoman
3. HBO Rome (2005) - Octavia of the Julii, Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus | Octavian | Emperor Augustus
Octavia and Octavian/Augustus were pretty much my favourite characters in the entire show, the Julii as a whole are so wonderfully messed up and I would love to read something centred on the siblings, although Atia, Caesar, and arguably Mark Antony, Livia, and Servilia can also be featured. Should you go for the platonic route, I’d still ask you to not ignore the canon events.
Potential prompts:
Post-canon where Octavia remains a close ally and adviser to Augustus
Outsider POV where someone else considers how close they are (and the rumours of them having once been lovers)
4. Succession (TV) - Kendall Roy, Shiv Roy
I do love the relationship between Ken and Shiv, and arguably what got me properly hooked to them was the scene between them in Season 2 where Shiv confronts her brother about why he stopped going after Logan. I won’t lie when I say that I also ship them very hard, especially with Shiv being the only one around whom Ken is openly vulnerable, and now in S3 him trying to get her on his team, but again, shippy dynamics need not necessarily be brought in if you’re uncomfortable with writing it.
If you chose to go for the ship: feel free to make it as messy, weird, and nasty as you like!
Potential prompts:
Backstory on them and their younger years! Roman can be included in that, along with Connor, Logan, and Caroline
As of now, this is AU-ish, but it might become canon: Shiv chooses to back up Kendall in his war against Logan and we get to see Team KendallSiobhan in all of its power duo glory.

i want to rec you another figure skater that you might be interested in.
junhwan cha (19) from seoul, korea — bts fan, meme lord, mesmerizing supermodel:
Tumblr media
he’s the whole damn deal. tall, fun, and gorgeous. if you see someone this hopelessly beautiful on the ice, you found junhwan:
Tumblr media
as a rule of thumb: he’s usually dressed in his signature lace outfits (yep) or super thin silk fabrics. his recent back slit shirt has caused a whole frenzy.
Tumblr media
similarly, his skating is like you’re watching a baroque theatre.
youtube
and yes, vogue already heard of him with good reason.
Tumblr media
now here comes another feat. junhwan loves BTS! and thanks to his soft baby face combined with his height, he’s been called the ‘kim seokjin of figure skating’. he’s even skated to DNA and showed up in typical bts fashion.
Tumblr media
jun has attended korean variety shows, too. gushing about chungha 😂 and really serving quality skating. you can tell by the vivid commentary, this guy knows how to wow the audience.
youtube
it’s a collab of him and VIXX’ hyuk! i know i know junhwan looks even more beautiful in selfies
Tumblr media
junhwan is not the most technical or 100% clean skater, but an entertainer he sure is. his gala performances are always memorable, he’s the kind of guy that brings his A-game when there is not a competition 😂 he’s great when the lights dim and the spotlight shines.
Tumblr media
now, figure skaters start very early but he’s still young for that matter, we will see a lot of his development. and as you can see, he has the power of collabs on his side. it’s good to know junhwan cha if you’re into k-pop 😄 he’s your #1 fanboy in figure skating.
it doesn’t stop there: he trains under the same luminary coach as yuzuru, our dear brian orser:
Tumblr media
so you’ll likely see these two dorking around at the same skating event. hold on to your seatbelts, it’s a double whammy.
Tumblr media
jun is well-protected, yuzu takes care of the kiddo ✨you won’t believe it, they have a 7-year age difference. onion headline: smol uncle found babysitting prancing supermodel.
Tumblr media
and seriously though. junhwan is cute as hell in these hats, can we talk about that 😿
Tumblr media
and look at this. he’s just precious.
Tumblr media
junhwan is an unproblematic legend and unsurprisingly, his fans call him their goodest boy. the only way he raised brows so far are his chaotic skating music choices lmao! if you want a meme on ice, this is your guy. he showed up like this at the olympic (!) gala:
Tumblr media
he has courage and i like it.
Tumblr media
the fandom has called him ‘rock lee’ (the naruto character) because of his long hair that frequently floats and fans out when jun does intense spins and jumps, creating instant memes.
Tumblr media
even newspapers make entire headlines about it. this is the korea herald:
Tumblr media
he can really amp up the show, but his character tends to be on the shy side regardless, frequently adorkable.
Tumblr media
last but not least, and that’s why junhwan cha is worth watching out for in the future: he’s sporting quite some historic feats! and yes, his english is fantastic, listen to that:

MASTERLIST
I update this list everytime I watch and review a show.
Disclaimer: These reviews are subjective and only reflect my opinions. There are no drama on that list that I’ve turned off and all are worthy of a watch.
Recs welcome!
#1 Crash landing on you
(사랑의 불시착)
Grade: A++
Genre: Modern, Star-Crossed lovers
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Son Ye-jin (who plays Yoon Se-ri) and Hyun Bin (Ri Jeong-hyeok) have amazing chemistry and every episode plays out like the chapters of an excellent fanfiction. Classic romantic tropes, humour, angst, action, CLOY has it all. Moreover, if you’ve never watched a Kdrama in your life, CLOY is a great starting point—not only will it introduce you to Korean culture but also to popular tropes and codes of the genre.
#2 Rookie historian Goo Hae-ryung
(신입사관 구해령)
Grade: A++
Genre: Historical, Age gap
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Delightful from end to end, with lots of humour and an engaging story. The romance between Goo Hae-ryung and himbo-prince Dowon will make your heart go soft, especially if you’re into reverse gender dynamics (she’s older and kisses him first *le gasp*)
#3 Memories of the Alhambra
(알함브라 궁전의 추억)
Grade: B+
Genre: Modern; Sci-fi; Fantasy
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Intriguing premise, great cast and tons of special effects but the romance between Jin-woo (Hyun Bin) and Hee-joo (Park Shin-hye) won't go down in history. On top of that, the ending is a bit wishy-washy in that annoying “maybe there’s more to come” kind of way. Give us a clear cut ending, damnit!
#4 Good doctor
(굿 닥터)
Grade: B-
Genre: Modern, Medical drama
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Good heart but the writing is really clumsy at times and the hospital politics don’t make an awful lot of sense. On the bright side, Joo Won is great in the role of Park Si-on.
Note: I haven’t watched the American remake so can’t compare.
#5 My love from the star/ You from the stars
(별에서 온 그대)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Sci-fi, fantasy, Star-Crossed lovers
Episodes: 21
Happy Ending: Yes-ish
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Jun Ji-hyun is absolutely stellar in the role of Cheon Seong-yi, a ditzy Hallyu* star whose career is going south while Kim Soo-hyun plays the emotionally closed-off alien to perfection. Lots of pinning, a dose of angst mixed with a pinch of wacky humor.
*Hallyu means “Korean wave” in Chinese and refers to the popularity and spreading of Korean pop-culture outside of Korea.
#6 Hwarang The Poet Warrior Youth
(화랑)
Grade: B
Genre: Historical, Coming of age, fake siblings who catch feels
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Cute boys and interesting lore rooted in true facts (the bone rank system and the real Hwarang, the “Flowering Knights” of the Silla kingdom) but the story drags. I guess I expected more bromance and frolicking and less angst. Lastly, the main girl starts off quirky and fun but they quickly transform her into a sobbing mess which becomes real annoying real fast.
#7 Love in the Moonlight / Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (구르미 그린 달)
Grade: A
Genre: Historical, Romance, Coming of age, Posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 18
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
A classic tale of a girl raised as a boy who ends up in a situation where she needs to do her best to not blow her cover while catching feels (As someone raised on Versailles no bara and Ribbon no Kishi, it remains one of my favourite tropes)
Sweet romance and good characters. The fact that Crown prince Lee Yeong doesn't turn emo when he starts developing feelings for Eunuch Ra-on before discovering she's a girl is the cherry on top of the cake.
#8 Something in the rain
(밥 잘 사주는 예쁜 누나)
Grade: C
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes, but it still doesn't make you happy
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Wasted potential!
Great start but the characterization falls apart quickly and you end up wondering why the main characters keep sabotaging their lives. By the end, despite their reunion, you're left with the impression they've learned nothing and that their relationship is doomed to fall apart.
On top of it all, watching Jin-ah fight sexism in the workplace and gaining nothing is depressing af (I don’t need realism in my escapism, thank you very much).
Too bad because Son Ye-jin and Jung Hae-in look really good together and the acting is top-notch. My advice is to watch the first 8 episodes then make up your own ending in your head.
#9 Moon embracing the sun
(해를 품은 달)
Grade: B+
Genre: Historical,Star-Crossed lovers
Episodes: 22
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
A traditional historical drama with all the tropes that go with the genre + a hint of esoterism.
If you love ill-fated relationships, tragic love triangle, evil queens, and amnesia, this is the show for you. Beware, the interrogation/torture scenes are rather brutal.
#10 My sassy girl
(엽기적인 그녀)
Grade: B-
Genre: Historical, Rom-Com
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Cute and lighthearted but easily forgettable. Still worth a watch thanks to Joo Won & Oh Yeon-seo's chemistry.
#11 Coffee Prince
(커피프린스 1호점)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Solid story, great cast but be ready for a lot of bickering.
Yoon Eun-hye is a precious bean who manages to sell the story of Eun-chan, a struggling androgynous working-class girl who mistakenly gets hired by a rich guy to play his boyfriend, then becomes his employee, then falls for him while not correcting his assumptions about her gender. Opposite her, Gong Yoo (from Train to Busan fame) is 🥰🥰🥰
Sidenote: Despite Han-kyul's struggle to accept his feelings for Eun-chan, homosexuality isn't treated as a joke or a shameful thing. The one time he goes seek “medical help”, the doctor is depicted as an old, clueless idiot. And honestly, the story would work too if Eun-chan was a guy.
#12 My girlfriend is a Gumiho/My girlfriend is a Nine-tailed fox
(내 여자친구는 구미호)
Grade: B+
Genre: Modern; Fantasy
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki - Available on Netflix (FR) too
Campy and goofy. It does look a bit dated (it’s from 2010) and the story is a little predictable but Lee Seung-gi as Cha Dae-woong, an aspiring action film actor and Shin Min-ah as “Gu Mi-ho” the nine-tailed fox looking for a mate are super cute. The show is also a good introduction to Korean folklore.
#13 Goblin / Guardian: The Lonely and Great God / The Lonely and Great God – Goblin
(쓸쓸하고 찬란하神 – 도깨비)
Grade: A+
Genre:  Modern, Historical, Fantasy, bromance
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes-ish
Watched on: Viki
Unpopular opinion but since I’m not into older guys, I wasn’t invested in the romance between Bride and Goblin until late in the series. I loved everything else though. The show has such a unique tone and atmosphere. It goes from super serious to goofy in no time. The cinematography is gorgeous (especially the historical sets) and you'll cry your eyes out.
#14 Healer
(힐러)
Grade: A
Genre:  Modern
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
If you're into toll broody guys and fearless smoll girls, you’ll love Healer. The story is great, the characters are great and the way Jung-hu (played by Ji Chang-wook) and Ji-an (Park Min-young) are horny for each other is peak drama! *chef kiss*
#15 Kangchi the beginning/Gu family book
(구가의 서)
Grade: B-
Genre: Historical, Fantasy
Episodes:
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Engaging coming of age story of a half-human half-gumiho looking for his place in this world. If it wasn't for the wishy-washy ending it could have been the perfect mix of action fantasy and romance.
Special mention for Dam Yeo-wool (played by Suzie Bae) who is a female character who's allowed to be a bit of everything at the same time (strong, kick-ass, funny, cute, romantic)
#16 Queen for seven days
(7일의 왕비)
Grade: A
Genre:  Historical, Romance, Villainous crush
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
With that title don’t expect a HEA but there are plenty of sweet moments along the way to make you appreciate the journey.
Chae-kyung loves the Prince and the Prince loves Chae-kyung but the King wants to kill the Prince and Chae-kyung is loyal to the King but the King is a tyrant and everyone wants the Prince to take his throne. On top of that the King wants Chae-kyung. Big mess. Lots of feels.
The story is (very) loosely based on real-life Queen Dangyeong, which makes it even more poignant. I cried my eyes out at the end because I’m a big softy.
#17 Korean Odyssey
(화유기)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Fantasy
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Kinda
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
The show (very loosely based on Journey to the West) has its faults including the wishy-washy ending and the fact that Jin Seon-mi/Sam-jang starts off as a doormat but I ended up liking the relationship developing between the assholish Monkey god and the naive human girl more than I expected.
The side characters are compelling, and the banter and bickering between the deities work really well. If you grew up with Dragon ball, you’ll have a blast trying to match-up the Japanese and Korean names of everyone without looking up Wikipedia.
Lastly, not something I imagined saying after seeing him in Gumiho and Gu family book but Lee Seung-gi as Son Oh-gong = BDE *fans herself* 🥵
#18 Strong Girl Bong-soon
(힘쎈여자 도봉순)
Grade: A-
Genre:  Modern, Super-Heroine
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Trigger warning: Graphic depiction of violence against women
A++ super-heroine story, bad side characters
First, every girl should aspire to find a Min-hyuk in their life. Someone who'll love them because of their strength, and support them unconditionally. Someone who won't ask them to change or pretend to be somebody else.
Second, western media should learn that a super-heroine can HAVE IT ALL—the superpowers AND the love AND the family.
My only complaint with the show (and that's why I gave A- instead of A++) is the inclusion of many cringy side characters/situations that spoiled my overall enjoyment (see the caricatural flamboyant gay co-worker, Bong-soon’s mom hitting her dad, the mobsters...)
#19 The K2
(더 케이투)
Grade: B-
Genre: Modern, Political
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
The romance is bad and the political story far-fetched but Ji Chang-wook is 🔥🔥PEAK HOTTIE🔥🔥
Tumblr media
That being said, I didn’t completely dislike the political intrigue and it was interesting to see the good guy working for the villains (sort of).
#20 Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok-joo
(역도요정 김복주)
Grade: A+
Genre:  Modern, Coming of age
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Uplifting coming of age story and super sweet romance. Bok-joo (Lee Sung-kyung) & Joon-hyung (Nam Joo-hyuk) are precious children on top of being cutie-patooties. Bok-joo’s insecurities hit hard, especially if you’ve ever been outside the norm of beauty standards.
I liked how the show normalizes therapy and taking care of your mental health.
In one word…
SWAG!
#21 The scholar who walks the night

Guilty pleasure.
Don’t ask me about the details of the main storyline, I’ve already forgotten most of it. Sometimes all you need is a show where a hundred-something years old good vampire with a sad backstory and the main girl who is thirsty for the good vampire are fighting a sexy evil vampire.
PS: Did I mention the sexy evil vampire?

#22 Romance is a bonus book
(로맨스는 별책부록)
Grade: A+
Genre: Modern, Friends to lovers
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Imagine reading a relaxing book under a cozy blanket while sipping hot cocoa. That’s how that series made me feel.
Everything is sweet and soft from the characters' fluffy jumpers to the soft palette of color used for the sets. People make books and love books. There’s a mystery but no unnecessary angst. If you need a break from everything, jump in that ship.
#23 Hotel Del Luna
(호텔 델루나)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Sorta
Watched on: Viki - Available on Netflix (FR) too
Interesting world-building and a good cast of side characters but the romance lacks a bit of oomph.
On the + side, the hotel sets are gorgeous and Man-wol's wardrobe is to kill for.
#24 Suspicious Partner
(수상한 파트너)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Star-crossed lovers in an office
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Toll serious who hates criminal falls for smoll weirdo falsely accused of murder. A must watch for anyone in search of a quirky romance.
#25 Touch your heart
(진심이 닿다)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
Tooth rotting sweetness. The series is just a pretext to watch two good looking people (Lee Dong-wook and Yoo In-na) being nice and awkward around each other. What do you need more? 0
Note: If you watched Goblin you can also pretend it's a spin-off series about the reincarnations of Grim Reaper and Sunny. 💡
#26 Because this is my first life
(이번 생은 처음이라)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Fake marriage
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
The Fake Marriage AU you’re looking for, mixed with slices of modern, messy, complicated life.
The main storyline revolves around Ji-ho an assistant drama screenwriter who struggles to find her place within the patriarchal structure of Korean society, and Se-hee, a socially incompetent computer designer who only cares for his cat and his mortgage. The way they end up in a fake marriage as well as the development of their relationship feels organic and doesn’t rely too heavily on comedy like it’s often the case with that trope.
The show also follows the stories of Ji-ho’s friends, Su-ji and Ho-rang who have different aspirations in life—Su-ji’s goal is to become CEO while Ho-rang only cares about becoming a housewife. I loved that the show makes a point to not pit women against each other and advocate living your life the way YOU want rather than trying to follow societal expectations of what love, work and marriage should look like.
Also they have the cutest cat.
#27 What's wrong with Secretary Kim?
(김비서가 왜 그럴까 )

I wish Secretary Kim had more agency in certain situations but the romance develops well and the horny moments are caliente 🥵🔥
#28 Where your eyes linger
(너의 시선이 머무는 곳에)
Grade: A++
Genre: Modern, BL, Coming of age, Friends to lovers
Episodes: 8
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
Bite-size BL gem to devour in one sitting.
Stellar acting from the two leads and the balance between fluff and angst is just right. There's no graphic violence that sometimes plagues yaoi and BL and the story is believable. I got emo remembering my first love.
#29 Live up to your name
(명불허전)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Historical, Time travel, Star-crossed lovers
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes

Trigger warning for graphic depiction of violence
Big surprise. I was looking for a cheesy comedy but it was actually a thoughtful story about humanism. I even teared up a little.
Trigger warning for needles. They do some pretty impressive procedures with those acupuncture needles.
#30 W - Two Worlds Apart

Imaginary men > Real men, especially when they're played by Lee Jong-suk. Nuf’ said.
Imaginary men > Real men, especially when they're played by Lee Jong-suk.
The silly premise hides a solid story that keeps you on your toes and I was suprised by the rollercoaster of emotions I went through.

#31 Life
(라이프)
Grade: C
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Kinda
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Unless you want to learn how fucked up the private health sector is becoming in Korea, there's not much to gain watching this show.
The story starts off well though. The problem is that by the middle of the series the writers have dropped the main mystery (the circumstances surrounding the death of the director) to deliver an exposé on the political machinations of big corporations, and then shoehorn an explanation at the last minute (“it was all but a misunderstanding”). Very underwhelming.
The relationship between the two brothers played by Lee Dong-wook and Lee Kyu-hyung is the only bright spot.
#32 Pinocchio
(피노키오)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Fake family members who catch feels
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
On paper, the story sounds a little crazy but it all comes together nicely.
Lee Jong-suk and Park Shin-hye have great chemistry and deliver a stellar performance as “uncle” and “niece” (not related by blood) who can’t fight the romantic feelings they harbor for one another. The main storyline has enough twists to keep you entertained and surprised.
My only complaint is that it drags a little. 16 episodes would have been enough.
#33 My Holo Love
(나 홀로 그대)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Sci-fi
Episodes: 12
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Fake men > Real men
Imagine a Black Mirror episode about a love triangle between a woman suffering from face blindness, an emotionally supportive AI boyfriend and the disenchanted creator of said AI, minus the nihilism. *chef kiss*
#34 Legend of the blue sea
(푸른 바다의 전설)
Grade: B++
Genre: Modern, Fantasy, Fairy tale, Star-crossed lovers
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
Park Ji-eu (the writer) read the little mermaid and decided to give her a happy ending. Great chemistry between Lee Min-ho and Jun Ji-hyun but the spark is missing for me.
The antics of modern-day mermaid Shim Cheong are a little predictable and Joon-jae needs to be less of a control freak at times but the story remains enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised to see Shim Cheong’s character grow, making the power imbalance between the clueless mermaid and the con-artist less pronounced by the end of the series.
The side characters are interesting but underused, and I wish Tae-oh was more developed. On the other hand, the Joseon area sets and costumes are absolutely gorgeous (Don’t tell anyone but Joseon!Lee Min-ho is hotter than Modern!Lee Min-ho 🥵)
#35 Tale of Arang / Arang and the Magistrate
(아랑사또전)
Grade: B
Genre: Historical, Fantasy,
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
One word: Campy.
Interesting lore but the pacing is a little off—there’s a lot of back and forth between the characters and the locations and the love triangle doesn't add much.
#36 My ID is Gangnam Beauty / Gangnam Beauty
(내 아이디는 강남미인)
Grade: A+
Genre: Modern, Coming of age
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
If you’ve ever been bullied for your looks, you’re gonna bawl your eyes out.
The show does a great job of calling out the unhealthy beauty standards imposed on Korean women but the topic is universal enough for the story to resonate with everyone. I love that you never see Mi-rae’s old face because it’s not our perception of her lack of beauty that matters but the fact she suffers greatly. Don’t you hate in western shows when they take a beautiful actress, give her a pair of glasses or a fat suit and call her ugly, making sure the audience feels shittier about themselves? Here, the writers concentrate on Mi-rae’s transformation and her coping with the consequences of her decision to do plastic surgery.
It’s also not a revenge fantasy where the ugly duckling suddenly becomes the most popular girl at school. Being a “Gangnam beauty” leads to a new form of suffering.
Romance-wise, it’s the slowest burn of slow burns because Mi-rae and Do Kyung-seok are the most socially awkward beans on the planet. I love them, Your Honor.
#37 Tale of Nokdu
(조선로코-녹두전)
Grade: A
Genre: Historical, Posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 32 x 30mns
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki - Now available on Netflix (FR)
Fun and lighthearted all the way through.
The story of a guy who puts on a dress to investigate a village of widows could have gone very wrong but it was well handled. It’s refreshing to see the classic trope of posing as the opposite sex reversed and Jang Dong-yoon is never cringy when he’s pretending to be Lady Kim Nok-soon.
#38 Bride of Habaek / Bride of the Water God
(하백의 신부 2017)
Grade: B
Genre: Modern, Fantasy
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Content warning: Crime against fashion
Promising premise and lore (I'm interested in reading the original comics now) but the writing fails to deliver an epic romance and a cathartic ending. Moreover, the sets lack imagination (or money?) and in the end I failed to ever feel immersed in a fantasy world.
The unfortunate consequence of the clumsy writing is that the male characters who are meant to be arrogant/confident Gods (Habaek and By-ryeom) sound like they're negging their love interests more than wooing them, and the relationship between Mu-ra and By-ryeom particularly irked me.
#39 Strangers from Hell / Hell is other people
(타인은 지옥이다)
Grade: A+
Genre: Modern, Psychological Thriller
Episodes: 10
Happy Ending: Spoiler
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Content warning: Violence
What a departure from everything else in that list! Absolutely worth a watch if you enjoy thrillers and shows like Hannibal. If psychological horror isn’t your cup of tea though, you might give it a pass.
The storyline and the characters are a little cliché (it goes with the genre) but the cinematography and photography are fantastic. You can notice how the pension becomes more and more sinister throughout the series via the use of dark greens and browns and pale yellows, as opposed to the mundanity and coldness of the city (greys, and cold blues).
Last but not least, the acting is top-tiers. Im Siwan does a great job at portraying Jong-woo, an aspiring crime novelist who slowly loses his marbles but the true revelation for me is Lee Dong-wook. After seeing him so many times in roles where he plays awkward yet charming men who can barely express emotions, I was intrigued to see him take on the role of a serial killer, and holy cow, he's the perfect mix of sinister and alluring. Towards the end of the series, his character Moon-jo acts like a black-hole whenever he appears in a scene—a towering, dark presence who sucks the light out of the room (If he carries any of that darkness in the upcoming Tale of Gumiho, it’s gonna be *chef kiss*).
#40 Empress Ki
(기황후)
Grade: A
Genre: Historical, posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 51
Happy Ending: From a certain point of view
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Trigger warning for violence against women (not graphic but implied)
51 episodes.
Fifty.One.Episodes.
That's a lot of episodes considering the story starts with the ending.
Did I enjoy this show? Yes, very much so. Do I think it's for everyone? Nope.
You'll enjoy Empress Ki if you're into old-school historical sagas or you wished Game of thrones had no gratuitous nudity and violence. If you’re looking for an historically accurate biography of the real empress Ki though, then look away because Empress Ki is basically a lengthy fanfiction trying to justify how the Goryeo native Seung-nyang married the wimpy Emperor of the Yuan dynasty whilst trying to portray her as loyal to her motherland and to her first love, the Crown Prince of Goryeo.
Personally, I didn’t care for the love triangle formed by Seung-nyang (Ha Ji-won), Wang-yoo (Joo Jin-mo) and Toghon Temür (Ji Chang-wook) but I liked the politics and the backstabbing. Also, contrary to GoT, the bad guys get their comeuppance at the end so it makes watching the side characters die less painful.
#41 Meow, the secret boy / Welcome
(어서와)
Grade: B-
Genre: Modern, Modern fantasy
Episodes: 24 x 35mns
Happy Ending: I guess
Watched on: Viki
How do I put it? It's not *terribad* but it's not *good* either.
I was super on board with the concept—if Lee Seung-gi can bang a nine-tailed fox in My girlfriend is a gumiho, I have zero issues with Sol ah, our heroine, falling in love with Hong-jo the cat-person after being dumped for no reason by Jae-sun her boyfriend—but it didn’t exactly develop that way, and as soon as they explained why Jae-sun had broken up with Sol-ah, the writers lost me because I like when things happen for a reason.
#42 Clean with a passion for now
(일단 뜨겁게 청소하라!!)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Rom-Com
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Super zany and tropey but that’s why it works so well. The only reason I’m giving it a minus is because it’s trying to be woke but in the end there’s still a lot of unsolicited grabbing and some iffy remarks/pick-up lines said by every male characters (IRL that’s the kind of story that ends up with a restraining order and a lawsuit for sexual harassment).
#43 Mystic pop-up bar
(쌍갑포차)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Fantasy
Episodes: 12
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Trigger warning: Heavy themes (miscarriage, pregnancy, loss of a child, death of loved ones)
You know how the meme goes... Sometimes a family is a hot-tempered bar owner, a cursed kid and an ex-Afterlife-Police officer with a secret past.
It took me a few episodes to get into it, but once the characters were established it became really enjoyable.
The tone of the series leans toward wacky but the core of the story is actually pretty dark if you look into it. Every grudge they solve for their “clients” gives a clue about Wol-joo’s personal story and by the last episode I was crying my eyes out.
Last but not least, Wol-joo’s collection of modernized hanboks is *chef kiss*
#44 My secret Terrius
(내 뒤에 테리우스)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Action, Comedy, Bromance
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
An enjoyable action drama to watch with your family or your significant other.
Koreans prove that you can write a story about a black ops agent on the run who becomes a childminder without reeking of toxic masculinity. Contrary to American comedies where the manly-man-hero working undercover is incompetent and believes that working with children is a woman’s job and a waste of his manly-man talents until he has an epiphany of some sorts, Kim Bon (played by So Ji-sub) never once expresses discomfort to the idea of looking after two kids. In spite of his sober demeanor, he’s a caring and attentive person from the start and watching him gradually becoming a part of this spunky family while investigating a national security threat made my heart go awww.
Opposite him, fearless and resourceful mom Go Ae-rin (played Jung In-sun) brings a lot of energy, and the twins are absolutely adorable.
#45 Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
(달의 연인 - 보보경심 려)
Grade: A--
Genre: Historical
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Random streaming site
Don’t get attached—Moon Lovers is the missing link between Empress Ki and Boys over flowers, but with a sad ending.
I did binge watch the series but there are some frustrating aspects to it that prevented me from giving a perfect score, notably the fact that Wang So remains possessive and demanding with Hae Soo throughout the years—for instance “You’re my person” is a romantic statement until it evolves into “You can never leave me.”
The other problem of the series is that Lee Ji-eun (UI) does cute and goofy really well, but she doesn’t have the emotional range needed to portray a character who goes through many heartbreaks and betrayals. As a result, Hae Soo appears a little fickle in her infatuations with the princes.
That being said if you’re a sucker for tragic romance and you believe that power corrupts even the purest of love, you’ll have a blast.
#46 Forest
(포레스트)
Grade: B++
Genre: Modern, Romance
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
UST in the woods (Dat first kiss 🥵🥵🥵)
The characters and the story are a little cliché but who doesn’t love a story where the protagonists are clearly attracted to each other but can’t act on their desires because their moral values are opposite?
*slams fist*
San Hyeok is your typical heartless businessman who refuses to confront his childhood trauma, and Yeong Jae is a surgeon who suffers from panic attacks and cares too much about other people. They’re both good looking and fate brings them to a remote village in the middle of the forest where they have to share a house. Really, I wonder what’s gonna happen?
#47 100 Days My Prince / Hundred days husband
(백일의 낭군님)
Grade: B+
Genre: Historical
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
Trigger warning: Important character death.
Cute and charming but also very annoying at times. Obviously, the story is tropey af (fake marriage doubled with amnesia, you can’t really beat that) but it also includes elements I’ve never seen in any other dramas like the fact that the Crown Princess is pregnant with another man’s child (le gasp!). The things that annoy me the most were the unnecessary flip-flopping of the heroine towards the end of the show for the sake of creating artificial drama (just let them be together FFS!) and the fact that the male characters take a lot of decisions for Yeon Hong-shim.
Romance wise, Do Kyung-soo and Nam Ji-hyun are really cute together but in the end I found myself more interested in the political intrigue and the side characters than the main romance because slow burn has its limit. In essence, it’s the perfect drama to watch with your conservative family because whilst the main couple is living under the same roof and is technically married they don’t get frisky.
#48 I Am Not A Robot (로봇이 아니야)
Grade: A++
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Angsty with a good pay-off.
With a premise like that, things could have gone wrong really quickly but the writers managed to write a story that isn’t a man wanting to fuck a robot because real women are scary so big kudos for them. Seeing Min-kyu celebrating his Roomba’s birthday because he has no other friends will instantly melt your heart and from that point on you’ll cheer for his recovery. The show has the right amount of angst without becoming a mess and they handle the big reveal very well, making sure to show how hurt both Min-kyu and Ji-ah are by the situation, without making you doubt that they can find each other again. The other strong point of the show is that it’s not just about romance, it’s also about friendship and learning to let other people in your life.
The acting is incredible to the point that by the end I wondered if Yoo Seung-ho and Chae Soo-bin were making out in front of my salad or if I was still watching the characters Min-kyu and Ji-ah being lovey dovey.
#49 Sungkyunkwan Scandal (성균관 스캔들)
Grade: A
Genre: Historical, Posing as the opposite gender
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
Hana zakari no kimi tachi he with gats.
This show checks so many boxes when it comes to my favourite tropes story-wise and character-wise that I instantly fell in love with it. It might feel a little dated for a younger audience and it definitely suffers from the second male lead syndrome (who wants unseasoned boiled chicken when there are not just one but two juicy rotisserie chickens on the table next to you?!) but it’s still very much enjoyable. Also, they don’t shy away from using the word “homosexuality” and having one of the second lead confessing to having romantic feelings for his friend (I’ll take any scrap of bi-representation, okay?)
#50 It’s Okay to not be okay  (사이코지만 괜찮아)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Found family.
In spite of one ridiculous plot twist (that I was aware of when I started the show) this show has made me feel all the feelz. The three main actors all did a phenomenal job portraying their characters in all their complexity and fragility and I ended up crying so many cathartic tears in the second to last & the last episodes. The relationship between Sang-tae and Gang-tae is one of the best sibling relationships I’ve seen on-screen in a long time while the romance between Moon-yeong and Gang-tae blends perfectly elements of comedy and melodrama. Mental illness isn’t treated as something to be ashamed of, whilst showing that you can grow and recover from trauma and finding your own happiness.
PSA from my boyfriend, who dropped the show before the end:
The plot twist is so stupid that it takes away from the rest of the series. In my opinion it negated the positive portrayal of mental illness built up until then. They completely lost me.
^ We discussed a lot about it which is why I wanted to share his POV to balance my own review.

More than Friends review eps 9-16
I previously posted my review of the first half of the series because I could not contain what I felt. It was quite impulsive of me but I wanted to let out everything I thought and felt for this drama. It is becoming better every time in such a way that I see the little creative ideas the writer or director is putting into each episode along with the development of the story. Familiar yet refreshing. I decided to create a new post because I saw that the first half recap was way too long if I would still add the remaining episode reviews because I just could not help it. I do understand that the length could be frustrating but I want my words to be read too, so thank you for everyone patient enough to read my words.
Tumblr media
Episode 9 - Watching this episode made me realize a double standard I never really noticed before but I guess drama watchers would be able to relate to; the difference of pitiful and pathetic for female and male leads. I’m not yet certain if it’s deliberate but female characters locked in one sided love often seem pathetic but when it’s a male character they seem pitiful? Woo Yeon did seem pathetic in her one sided love in the earlier episodes so why does Soo get to be pitiful? It’s the same for the past dramas I’ve watched too. It’s just a food for thought. Based on last week’s preview, I really thought Joon Soo would punch Lee Soo after the drunk call but he held back so good job, Joon Soo. Honestly, I thought he wouldn’t be able to hold back because not only was he angry of the fact that Woo Yeon was getting swayed by Soo, but also because he knew how much it hurt, and hates the fact that she would still be hurt over the latter after a decade. This is why I keep wanting Joon Soo because he never thought selfishly when it came to Woo Yeon. I also love the fact that his character is being shown as someone seemingly perfect with a lot of flaws too. I love seeing his flaws and even relating to them! Being used to holding back is probably the reason why I write so much because I swear I can’t talk this much at all. I really hope he would stop holding back for his own sake. I think the most favorable Soo I have ever seen was him drunk calling his dad. I love the fact his parents went to his house to talk and console him. I also realized that Soo really closed himself up enough to have no one but his dad to drunk call. That was sad because the high school gang never really shunned him but he was the one who kept his heart closed. I half expected his folks to announce that hey would be back together because I feel that’s where those two are headed to eventually. As for Woo Yeon, I’m somehow glad she mustered up the courage to break up with Joon Soo after everything. As much as I was dreading it, I also felt that it was the right decision. She knew that it was too cruel to let him hurt quietly so I’m glad she had that decency; I could see that she was doing her best to be firm with her resolve. On her behalf, I get it why it’s difficult for her to let go of her feelings for Soo so I do not think she’s a weird one for that. I know that this is where my ship stops its sail but I’m satisfied that it’s not as I feared it would. The fight scene was reminiscent of Jealousy Incarnate, I just hope Dong Jun faked the punch because I know how athletic he has been from his Idol days which is enough for me to be scared for Seung Woo. Conveniently, it was only after this that Soo decides to take a break from pursuing Woo Yeon after ruining her chance to start anew with someone. Eventually, I know that Woo Yeon would not be able to defy the flow of her feelings towards Soo but I hope he can also grow up more because right now, I can still see him being selfish and self centered in his approach.

Episode 10 - How can one episode contain so much emotions? And it was all types of emotions at that! I mean one moment it’s awkward, cute, upsetting, lovely, funny then sad and even more! This episode was a roller coaster of emotions in my opinion. First thing’s first, the younger guy Jinju dated is a total loser and a scumbag. Good thing Sang-hyeok was there to the rescue. I feel so bad for Young-hee because every time she takes a step forward, she’s always dragged two steps back. She has a strong personality but it does not mean her situation does not wear her down too. So here comes the roller coaster because Lee Soo and On Joon Soo drinking together and ending up at Woo Yeon’s place is super cute. That includes her parents’ “interview” with the two men while they try to show off their “qualities”. I literally said “boom” when Joon Soo “let slipped” that Soo was the jerk Woo Yeon’s parents have been hunting for. That was really petty but I guess it’s his little revenge on Soo for interrupting their relationship when he used to date Woo Yeon. I am not going to lie about not loving the misunderstanding Soo had when he saw them together in the restaurant while he was with his parents. He tends to act so victimized which I really dislike then he readily blows up at Woo Yeon. But then again, it makes these characters more human then the usual kdrama characters I watched in the past. Lee Soo should really learn to express things more clearly so Woo Yeon would stop thinking that he’s simply bored or fooling around. As for Joon Soo, it’s a lost battle and I feel bad for him because he has become a masochist which is why I need to take care of him. I need Woo Yeon’s cooperation for this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Episode 11 - Soo is finally given the chance he keeps on missing. As much as I am sad for my ship, I’m happy Woo Yeon and Soo are coming around although it isn’t the full circle yet. I do feel really bad for Joon Soo but it has always been clear how strong Woo Yeon’s feelings have been for Soo. I like how she at long last clearly stated that she will always give Soo the chance whatever he does because it has been evidently true for the past episodes. I guess that’s enough proof that feelings can’t be controlled easily. My favorite part in this episode would be her giving Soo an ultimatum because I always had a feeling he thought of her as a port always there for him. My second favorite in this episode would be Sang Hyuk and Jinju! He’s so sweet and caring which is exactly what she needs. Will they be my favorite couple? Hehe. I just want to take a bit of time to swoon over Joon Soo because he cares a lot for Woo Yeon though it isn’t returned, I appreciate him wishing her well. I can’t help but wonder if there will be another drama between Woo Yeon and Soo, because if he hurts her one more time then I would prefer her to be alone (I’ll be taking Joon Soo.)
Tumblr media
Episode 12 - I never thought Soo and Woo Yeon together would be this mushy haha. They are making up for the lost time and I like seeing them happy and somewhat letting go of the inhibitions they had. And for the first time, I think I want to scold the writer for adding a character like Yura because seriously, those two no longer need another person to interrupt them. I suppose it’s to make up for the remining episodes? But then it could be expound on things like commitment issues for Woo Yeon and Soo, and taking the next step for their relationship. I do secretly hope for Joon Soo to make a comeback but not necessarily in a romantic light. Obviously, Soo is the one being careful now when it comes to dealing with Woo Yeon. I like seeing him nervous of losing her because it keeps him on his toes though I hope he would be more direct about it instead of acting cool so she won’t misunderstand anymore. I remember him saying he dated around too but Woo Yeon seems more like the one used to dating. I guess he never really thought of the other party when dating. I can sort of imagine his ex-girlfriends putting more effort than him.
Tumblr media
Episode 13 - Lol, Soo should’ve been more sensitive when Woo Yeon insisted on going home by herself. I find it so cute when she defended Soo from her parents, she was so cheeky to point out her dad’s faults. After everything they have been through I hope they can do well from now on but something tells me otherwise. At least Woo Yeon finally said the magic words Soo has been so anxious to hear. It seems she was too nervous and being careful to say it though I had the initial impression that she must’ve had a stigma of some sort to those three words. I somehow feel nervous about Soo’s job offer from the airline because it might lead to a fight or even a break up. Speaking of a break up, I’m sad Hyun-jae and Young-hee had to part ways though it was one-sided. I do get the pov of his family but I can’t relate to the pressure of marriage. By the way, am I the only one who thinks Kwon Yura’s character is waste? I mean I don’t see much purpose for her character because she does not threaten the main lead’s relationship other than making Woo Yeon want to doll up herself. I must say one of my favorite scenes in this episode is when Woo Yeon went to the salon and told the staff she’s meeting with her boyfriend’s woman. I love how the customers and salon staff reacted even calling in their boss to style her. Was it a parody? I’m not sure because I have sworn to lay my hands and eyes off all dramas that deal with a husband’s mistress. Nevertheless, it was super witty and I had a lot of fun watching that scene including the one where she deliberately posed further behind Yura to make her face look smaller. Lastly, Sang-hyeok and Jinju are finally together! They look so cute together and make the perfect couple. In fact, all three couples seem to be perfect for each other because they complement each others’ personalities well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Episode 14 - This must be the episode where everyone breaks up or gets rejected. But before that, I can’t get over the expression Woo Yeon’s mom wore when she said to pack up contraception for her trip with Soo. One minute they were having a lovely mother-daughter moment then she suddenly brings that up. As much as most people would find it awkward, I think it was so funnily straightforward. Her mom cares which suddenly reminds me of the reaction of Young-hee’s mom when she found tons of condoms in her drawer. Another reaction I really enjoyed was when Woo Yeon and Soo found out Jinju and Sang-hyeok are dating! The way she splashed water out of shock really showed how it was the farthest thing in her mind. From the time Soo’s work offer came, it already seemed ominous along with Woo Yeon’s offer so I was not surprised with the break up. Maybe it was for the better; I have been mulling over Woo Yeon’s reasoning that she might end up hating Soo if they stayed together. The loneliness was eating her up which I believe is realistic in a long distance relationship like theirs. Soo shouldn’t have readily agreed regardless if he was thinking of her or not. Considering these two pursued their careers, I think this would leave less regrets in their hearts because they were able to fulfill the dreams they had. Their feelings for each other will always be there because they are Soo and Woo Yeon. I just need to wait how they will get back to each other.
Tumblr media
Episode 15 - While watching this episode, I couldn’t stop thinking that this is the episode I finally see Lee Soo as someone heartbroken and not self centered, also, am I the only one who thinks his hair styled up is way better than his hair down? At last, I got to see Soo’s feelings of longing for Woo Yeon instead of his attitude of forcing his feelings like earlier into the series. I think it’s his maturity plus his sincerity in wanting her back because he now knows how it is to lose her. Their break up might just seem like another ploy by the writer to extend the series but I also think it was helpful to both Woo Yeon and Soo. In the first place, they decided to be apart so their careers could flourish which made them busy and drift apart. It also brought to light the insecurities they had especially Woo Yeon who had been so used to be the only one who in love. I think her fears of having the person she loved and wanted the most surfaced which keeps her from returning to him even if he’s practically begging her back. I just hope Soo would’ve made efforts to contact Woo Yeon or get her back after that break up call just as he was when he was courting her instead of stepping back. I guess it was partly a good thing because they were able to achieve certain things for their careers during that time too. Meanwhile Young-hee’s mom’s death was inevitable but at least they got to resolve the hard feelings and she was able to convey her love for her children. I think among the deaths I’ve seen in kdramas, this is the most touching for me. I must really be getting old to be sentimental like this. I also felt envious of the leads’ friendship. This episode showcased it the most especially how they supported Young-hee through the most difficult time in her life. I also love how they quietly support the complicated relationship of Soo and Woo Yeon. They have never attempted to kill him so yup they are good people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Episode 16 - Loose strings are tied up in a pretty bow as the friends gear up for each of their happy endings. Joon Soo decides to let go of his feelings for Woo Yeon (he’s finally free to walk towards me! Yay!) I really like their hug because it sums up the affections and friendship they had. Good thing Soo wasn’t there to tear them apart. I also like that Soo is still a bit jealous of Joon Soo because whenever I remember how arrogant he was about stealing Woo Yeon away, I still want to punch him. His mom’s pushing aka guilting Woo Yeon was indeed effective, heh. Seriously though, it seems to me that his mom did it because she did not want him to end up like his parents and perhaps it was her way of making up for their negligence and mistreatment of him. I love the fact that Soo and Woo Yeon continued to fight and make up even after getting back together, it was very much in their character. It’s also nice that Soo’s parents decided to give their relationship another shot. It makes me think that they too learned from their son. Jinju’s and Sang-hyeok’s wedding pictorial was super lovely, it was very smart of them to trick Soo into it haha. Young-hee and Hyun-jae are finally back together too! Thank goodness, they’re getting married instead of returning to dating. As much as I cringed with their cheesiness, it was very much welcome and cute to watch. All six of them had their own cringey and cheesy way of saying and doing things. I think this drama has one of the most satisfactory endings ever, now, if only On Joon Soo can find his way to me...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More than Friends has met the amount of romance and tension that I always look for yet refreshing and not too cliché. I love the little details and the way it explored different types and stages of relationships including of different age groups. I hope other viewers would also get to see how the writer tried to portray these in the drama. Watching the ending made me realize the drama’s title was probably referred to these couples because they started as friends and became more than just that. Honestly, their situation is quite idealistic but I think it’s so cute if it does happen in real life. I’m happy I watched this even if it was mainly for Kim Dong Jun. Literally before watching this, I watched Moment of Eighteen then even prior to that, I watched Meow, The Secret Boy. MoE was sad because Junwoo had to put off his dreams and relationship to help out his mom. I initially wanted to skip or wait till later to watch it but ended up being hooked to it. Hehe.
Tumblr media
One of the things I find fascinating in this drama is the casting! Shin Ye Eun’s step mom in MTSB became her actual mom while her dad became Lee Soo’s dad this time. There lots of familiar faces which made me like the drama even more.

october & november favorites.
another month late rewind. oh well...2020 is what it is...
music.
'shine together' by SF9. y'all the nostalgia for some reason, rings so strong in this track. as soon as i listened i was like, oh my goodness it takes me back to easier times. i just love their vocals and the progression of the song.
Tumblr media
nct 2020. y’all. this comeback was NO JOKE. it was brilliantly executed. i loved every moment. i loved the album. the various types of genres they tackled. BRILLIANTLY. i am excited to get the pt.2 soon in the mail. this has it’s own review because there were too many feelings to be had. and when they release the final video i’ll have an updated one with the new tracks. --and updated ‘make a wish’ is a bop, and it owns the replay button.
Tumblr media
ost tracks from 'record of youth', ‘do do sol sol la la sol’ and 'more than friends'. i must say ost tracks tend to rule my life, especially when i find a gem in a beloved drama. some of these include: ‘go’ by seungkwan, ‘what if’ by kim jae-hwan, ‘so hard for me’ by jeebanoff, ‘falling in love’ by april, ‘late regret’ by ong seong wu, ‘serendipity’ by ha sung-woon, and ‘highlight’ by ra.L
'energetic' by wannaone. this one always manages to come back and DOMINATE my playlists.
Tumblr media
'love killa' by monstax. seriously, can they not. their concepts and songs always go so hard. i love it and this is no exception.
Tumblr media
'breath' by got7. this ONE. THIS FREAKING SONG. is soooooo good. 10 out of 10 would recommend. it's great, the mv is great, the vocals, the choreo. i love this comeback.
Tumblr media
minisode1 by TXT. my children are talented precious beans, and this ep was beautiful. i love these tracks, the vibes of each song are incredible. and they are seriously the most previous children in the mv for ‘blue hour’. seriously every comeback they slay.
Tumblr media
'i can't stop me' by twice. okay i must say that i can not make an opinion on a twice song because it never gets me in the first listen. however, it always manages to creep up and own the replay button. it’s a bop and i love it!
Tumblr media
'your light' by TXT. this is an ost track from ‘live on’, a currently airing drama. and as soon as i heard this track i added it to my playlist. it’s great.
dramas & movies. *spoiler alert*
count your lucky stars. c-drama. this was a decent one. as always, well at least the chinese dramas i have seen all have a similar progression and this one didn't deter from that mold. i enjoyed this concept. and i love the lead actress, the reason i was drawn to this one. but i wish she was more confident like she was at the start of the drama. there were cute moments, and i loved their relationship. but he was mean. and i know he had the tragic back story but still no need to be rude to those around you, especially someone you care for deeply. i rate this is a 7 out of 10.
Tumblr media
when i was most beautiful. k-drama. this one. i hyped up. like this was meant to be ji-soo's time to SHINE. boy, i thought my man was going to be the main lead. going to show up and finally get the girl. oh man was i in for some tragic nonsense. it was all a mess. because if only they had waited a few more years. both grew some more, maybe then it would have been perfect timing, but their timing was soooo wrong. and his brother was sooooo wrong. i still don't understand his logic, and complete disregard for his brother. i was an interesting one. and if you're looking for tragedy, and soapy drama this is one for you. i give it a 6 out of 10
romance, talk. webdrama. this was another webdrama from my main leading man, choi kyung-hoon. as i write this after a month and a half, i recall enjoying it and kind of predicting the ending, of it being the one kid in class.
school nurse files. miniseries. this was an interesting watch. unexpected and i enjoyed it, for how weird it was. definitely not something i would typically watch, but thank you to nam joo-hyuk. it follows a new school nurse eun-young who has the ability to see jelly monsters that stem from human desires. she has the power to eradicate them because sometimes they can overwhelm people/places. nam joo-hyuk's character, in-pyo, has a special power that protects him from the influence of these jellies. they have to work together to protect the school. and it's really good. the animation was great, and i loved the characters we got to see. i rate it a 8.5 out of 10.
Tumblr media
a-teen. webdrama. this was a cute one. i loved the characters, and i finally understand the context of the instagram snippets i see. it was cute, and fun. i loved the little cameos. and i especially loved the seventeen ost tracks.
record of youth. k-drama. bro. this drama was top tier, as to be expected from my park bo-gummy. i rate it a 10 out of 10, and this one already has a review, because it was too much to contain in one rewind.
Tumblr media
do do sol sol la la sol. k-drama. this one will have it's own review. it follows the story of our tragic ra-ra who is currently in a mess, when her fiance runs from the alter and her father unexpectedly passes away, she is scammed out of her money and finds herself in eunpo, a town full of lovely characters who come to surround her. as well as our man jun, who is ra-ra's knight in shining armor. i love it. it's great. their story funny and lighthearted. i would rate it a 10 out of 10; however, that finale had me balling my eyes out and then i felt oh so betrayed, sooooo i am still processing.

Note
Hi there. Can I request a general reading for E’Last?
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: Take this with a grain of salt, energy constantly shifts. I'm not an expert and interpretations could not be the most correct, it's for entertainment purposes. Reading done 02/08.
General energy of the group (page of cups rev. - Queen of pentacles rev. - 3w rev.)
They are not at their best, too many things they need to do and some can't handle all of that, maybe there are some troubles within the group, some fights between some members. It seems like some of them if not all, have some money issues, too much work, and little pay.
Individual energies
Choi In (The Emperor - The High Priestess rev. - 3c rev.)
Right now he is dealing with some internal issues, it feels like there is barely any internal nurturing, no internal abundance. He is aiming high in achieving what he wants but he is losing himself in that process, he needs to find a balance between the inner and outside world. Some opportunities might have been presented to him.
Seung Yeop (Ace of sword - 8p rev - Judgment)
So, he was dealing with some financial issues, and even some jealousy because of the lack of opportunities when he worked his ass off. With the judgment card here looks like he realizes that he needs to change for things to change, make sense?
Rano (Knight of Swords rev - 8p rev - The Hermit)
It looks like how he approaches life is not the best, or for a better saying, how he deals with problems is making more problems for him. He is dealing with doubts, frustrations, and insatisfaction, he is resorting to some excesses. Looks like he doesn't talk about his problems, so this might weigh him a lot, and doesn't positively contribute to his situation.
Baek Gyeul (7c rev - 9s rev. - The star rev.)
Frustration, can't accept the lack of opportunities, could be personal or group opportunities. He may want to create an illusion of his situation right now, he wants to project something that is not the reality.
Ro Min (Strength rev - Knight of swords rev - Judgment rev - The sun rev.)
His possibilities are being limited by someone and he is not afraid to show, impulsively, that he is not content with that, this is a problem because it causes tension and a way for the other people to justify their whys. it feels like he is not taking his responsibilities seriously, in a victim mentallity.
Won Hyuk (Page of wands rev - 6s rev - 6p rev. - the Hierophant)
He is stuck in the past, he wants to move on but he can't, there is something worrying him apart from the economic difficulty he is going through. Someone has his back, family maybe? they gave him some insight.
Won Jun (4w rev. -5w rev - 10s - the Hagman)
He is not feeling confident in himself, not in the best mental health I would say. Even though he is feeling apathetic and depressive he works hard, and a tiny little reward may come his way because of that. Maybe a hiatus for health reasons.
Ye Jun (The Moon rev. - Death rev. - 5p rev)
There are some changes he doesn't want to go through or doesn't want to accept the reality of his situation. He may not be aware of some situation, something about his job, maybe, hiatus?
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
I'm loss for words, every single member got at least one mayor arcana card and so many reverse cards, thats like a lot of heavy energy. I personally don't know a lot about this group (there is not much info about them either), but some shit is going on, there is so much worry and not-so-positive energies...
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
Thank you for reading!

Yoon Siyoon: “99 percent of people said “No” to me”
Tumblr media
Actor Yoon Si-yoon has gained great success by appearing in the drama "Bread, Love, and Dreams" after his previous drama "High Kick Through The Roof".
Yoon Si-yoon said, "Ninety-nine percent of people had told me, 'You will not be able to succeed'. But, the other one percent of people, who were my parents and my manager, cheered for me and their encouragement has made me who I am today".
Yoon Si-yoon played the protagonist named Kim Tak Koo in "Bread, Love, and Dreams", which finished airing on September 16 by recording 50.8 percent viewer ratings, and he has become an actor who makes Songpyeon with the president of Korea overnight. He said people had shown negative opinions of him, but he had acheived great success with his own efforts by overcoming those negative opinions.
Early last year, nobody knew his existence, but he had risen as a rookie actor when he played "Joon Hyuk" in MBC TV's sitcom "High Kick Through The Roof", which had begun airing from September last year. He became a nationally-known actor whom many Koreans recognized by appearing in his second drama.
A reporter met and interviewed this lucky man whose life has been changed completely overnight.
Tumblr media
Yoon said, "I heard that actors have to come out from the role that they had played once the work has finished, but I still cannot believe that the drama has finished. I just feel like I am taking a break in the middle of filming".
The interview was nice and neat. Yoon gave thoughtful answers for every question and he was emotionally stable during the interview. His attitude was very sincere and humble during the interview. It seemed his character, Kim Tak Koo, who had shown the "power of an absolutely positive mind", was actually overlapping with the real attitude of actor Yoon Si-yoon.
Yoon said, "There is no difference in my life. I was happy before the drama and I am still happy. But I feel good when I can see people around me become happy because of me. I was always a positive person, and I decided to try to become just like Kim Tak Koo while playing him in the drama. I think that Kim Tak Koo is not just a fictional character, and I believe that I can become happier if I live my life while resembling Kim Tak Koo in the real world. People might say that Kim Tak Koo is just a fantasy, but I think that actors have to give dreams and fantasies to the public, and I have to maintain those dreams of Kim Tak Koo as an actor".
He had reportedly gone through hard times before his debut as a protagonist of a TV series, but he never mentioned it even though reporters tried to ask about it. He said, "I was born in an ordinary family and I did not have many troubles. My family's circumstance could be bad, but it was a common standard of living. Anyway, now I am happy because I can help my parents and lessen their burdens".
Yoon Si-yoon confidently said, "I wanted to become an actor from the moment that I was born". He entered Kyungki University majoring in theater and film, and he had tried to debut in the entertainment world for four years without any results. Finally, he was cast in "High Kick Through The Roof".
Tumblr media
Yoon said, "When I participated in an audition, I always failed during the document screening part. I could not even have the opportunity to do a real audition. Maybe there were many reasons, but I just think that it was not the right time for me. Then I applied for the role in 'High Kick Through The Roof' and received the phone call to come to the audition. I did not have high expectations about it and I did not even know how to do an audition properly at that time. Later, I heard that many handsome and skilled actors had come to the audition, but the director Kim Byong Wook had wanted to find a really rookie actor just like me, so I think that was why I could get the opportunity. When I did the audition, I picked up something on the set while immersed in the emotion of my acting and threw it, hitting the head of the production director, Kim Byong Wook. It was a such an embarrassing accident (laugh)".
He continued, "Many trainee actors including me just have a dream of becoming an actor but they cannot even get any opportunity. In this situation, what I did well was the only thing that I always thought about before going to bed every day, which was becoming an actor".
Yoon had become famous by appearing in the sitcom "High Kick Through The Roof", but his casting as the protagonist in "Bread, Love, and Dreams" was a different matter. Almost everyone related to the drama production had actually strongly disapproved of his casting. Yoon Si-yoon said, "One time the writer came to me to say that it would be hard to cast me for the role due to the strong opposition, but at that time, I did not realize the atmosphere and said with a big smile, 'I did not have the confidence to present my best acting, but I can act with sincerity with no pretense'. Maybe I was unable to think that I would not be chosen, just like the way that Kim Tak Koo never thinks negatively about everything (laugh). I think that the writer gave me the chance due to this similarity".
Tumblr media
Yoon said, "Kim Tak Koo is a positive person not because he is very generous and has a broad mind, but because he feels uncomfortable and cannot endure any situation where he thinks negatively about something. It is the same with me. I always try to think positively and regard something as a good thing to me, not because I am a good person, but because I do not want to see myself destroyed in a negative and sad situation".
But Yoon had felt tremendous pressure about playing Kim Tak Koo in the beginning, and the pressure had been much greater than he had expected. He said, "It took a long time for me to overcome the situation where people were concerned and expressed ridicule regarding my casting. I was worried and discouraged and I even thought, 'Can I play the role?' and 'I might not be able to do it'. But I could get encouraged by watching the child actor Oh Jae-moo's acting in the beginning. While watching his acting, I really wanted to create a beautiful and nice character in Kim Tak Koo".
Yoon was very lucky in terms of not only being cast as the protagonist, but also having an opportunity to act together with many top senior actors such as Jun Kwang-ryul, Jeon In-hwa, Jung Sung-mo, and Jang Hang-sun. Yoon said, "I could learn the meaning of standing in front of people by appearing in 'High Kick Through The Roof', and I could come to love acting by appearing in 'Bread, Love, and Dreams'. I could learn many things from many senior actors who presented the best acting ability and I could feel excitement about acting thanks to them. In addition, I received great love as an actor from viewers, as the drama had recorded 50 percent viewer ratings. I have to repay that great love from now on. I want to repay their love by acting sincerely with a positive mind. It could be very hard, but I want to show my efforts to become the best actor to people".
The reporter asked whether Yoon wanted to talk about the difficulties that he had gone through before he gained this huge popularity, and Yoon answered, "There are many other actors who have good acting ability, but have difficulties as an actor by not having any chance to reveal that ability. If I think about those actors, I cannot even mention my previous difficulty. I feel sorry about those actors".
Yoon Si-yoon disclosed his future plans by saying, "I want to overcome my weaknesses. I had portrayed a teenage boy by playing 'Joon Hyuk' and a young man by playing 'Kim Tak Koo'. Now, I think that I have to be prepared to play a grown-up man who can protect his family".

After decades of successfully not finishing every k-drama series that I've been watching... Today, at 3 am I officially declare that I just finished watching 16 episodes of Crash Landing On You. It was quite a marathon I suppose. Aside from the gorgeous love chemistry between Ri Jeong Hyuk and Yoon Se Ri I’ve been quite attached to it knowing more in-depth conditions about the South and the North. Love also comes in different forms. Sometimes it’s through lies, cutting off the family tree, and letting the loved ones leave your life peacefully. Cried several times because a mother’s love is really being highlighted -- and that family sticks up to one another :’) the amount of goodbyes is, too, making my eyes wet then dry then wet again. It goes in a nonstop circle.
I know, I know. Some of the stuff in there is fake that’s why it’s called drama. But nevertheless, I’d say it is quite intense. It’s an irony that there is a huge difference between the two when they located so close to each other. There are loads of picik people in here but the comedy is really on point.
Talking about K-dramas, I’ve come to a sudden realization that not dramas are all that bad and cringy, it's just... we have to be really picky about what we are consuming. Try not to be addicted to it. Take the good, throw the bad.
Watching K dramas is actually making me able to put myself on someone else’s shoes. Making me feel what people might feel during a certain phase or circumstance. Though dramas seem very fictional and unreal, I’m really glad I could escape this life for a little bit.
Heol. It was a long time ago since I feel so alive. I feel like I’m able to do anything I wanted to idk? Haha. Special thank goes to Lee Jeong-hyo for directing this amazing drama. Watched the bts and this man seems so sweet and listens to the actors and actresses. Everyone that is working on this drama deserves a lot of love!
p/s: dangggg, seo dan and seung jun deserve a better plot, really.
