ough i just watched the last episode...

it made me cry a little LOL... god it's so weird seeing that we're not going to have ash anymore at least for the time being..

honestly, i really loved how they played type: wild at the end. the original version, too. it's basically ash's theme song, and... there's just about no other fitting way to end this current, 20+ year journey, honestly.

He even gave Neil's hand a gentle squeeze, and Neil knew better than to make any kind of comment about it, instead leaning to the side and resting his head against Andrew's.

"How has quitting been going?" Neil asked, keeping his voice quiet despite the fact that he could still hear Nicky's frustrated ranting from down the hall.

"About as well as it went for you at first," Andrew said. Difficultly.

"Can I help at all?" Neil asked.

Andrew gave Neil's hand another squeeze and leaned into Neil for just a second. You already are.

Neil smiled to himself and returned the squeeze to Andrew's hand.

Anime celebrates little moments of connection like this in a way other animation styles simply do not. This is the language of 'I love you' and 'I see you' and I go feral over these scenes every time.

Not exactly. Some paladins might follow a god but its clerics that have to. Paladins swear an oath which can be to a god but might be more to an ideal.

Larkspur’s oath is the Oath of the Watchers. Here’s what the rules have to say about that, from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything:

The Oath of the Watchers binds paladins to protect mortal realms from the predations of extraplanar creatures, many of which can lay waste to mortal soldiers. Thus, the Watchers hone their minds, spirits, and bodies to be the ultimate weapons against such threats.

Paladins who follow the Watchers' oath are ever vigilant in spotting the influence of extraplanar forces, often establishing a network of spies and informants to gather information on suspected cults. To a Watcher, keeping a healthy suspicion and awareness about one's surroundings is as natural as wearing armor in battle.

Tenets of the Watchers

A paladin who assumes the Oath of the Watchers swears to safeguard mortal realms from otherworldly threats.

Vigilance. The threats you face are cunning, powerful, and subversive. Be ever alert for their corruption.

Loyalty. Never accept gifts or favors from fiends or those who truck with them. Stay true to your order, your comrades, and your duty.

Discipline. You are the shield against the endless terrors that lie beyond the stars. Your blade must be forever sharp and your mind keen to survive what lies beyond.

He’s a bit of a special case because he is from another plane so he’s somewhat of the threat that other Watchers paladins are guarding against. Hence one of them tried to kill him. But he interprets his goal of closing all the portals as aligned even if it’s for different reasons, and it’s close enough that his oath worked.

(The powers aren’t bestowed by a god, they are born from your conviction, and if there’s anything Larkspur has in spades it is conviction.)

(He also has vigilance, loyalty, and discipline. Vigilance and discipline are more trauma responses than anything else but it still counts.)

Ekaterina: Truth be told, extroverted people in general scares me and make me feel tired quickly. It's nothing personal, though, but I suppose that Ariadne's first impression about me was like 'she doesn't like me'. And that's not true! Her light-hearted personality is very pleasant, and it's fun that even in chaos she finds her way out. I trust her, and she can always count on me.
