“ok so…how does this work again?”

ryujin holds the controller with two fingers, dangling it at a significant enough distance from the floor to give yena heart palpitations, or so she thinks that’s the case considering how much her cousin’s eyes widen.

“stop holdin’ it like that.”

she looks down at her so called grip, brow rising in confusion. great, they haven’t even started yet and ryujin is already doing something wrong. there’s a significant reason why the game expert in the family is yena and not her. 

“like what?”

“like it’s gonna bite yer hand off. it’s plastic, it’s not gon’ hurt ya, y’know?” yena frees the controller and places it back in ryujin’s hands, wrapping her palms around the younger’s with a firm grip. “there, much better ain’t it?”

with a huff and a sheepish slump of shoulders, ryujin nods once and then decides to focus her attention on the main console when the realization hits her. she has absolutely no idea how to turn the monstrosity on. i mean there’s a button on it and everything but. should she touch it? does she dare? she looks over at yena and then eyes the button, and then again at yena, expression pleading and confused all at once. with a sigh, her cousin gets up on her knees and leaning over the coffee table, pushes the button with a slender finger.

ryujin waits. she knows something is supposed to happen but she doesn’t exactly know what. a sound? a light? surely there’s some indication that the black router thing has come to life, there has to be, but it evades her completely. she looks at yena again, a brow raised as if to ask ‘and now what?’ but doesn’t dare voice her concerns for fear of being annoying. but worry comes to visit too soon she discovers, because yena, after a close inspection to the part beyond the coffee table that no shin family child dares to adventure towards (not even her little brother who is known for hiding in conspicuous places), comes out in victory with the unplugged chord of the device.

it takes a while after ryujin comes back from the laughing fit that hits her at the sight. the situation is just so absurd she just can’t help herself. after she calms down enough to communicate properly the game starts. it takes a while for her to get used to the controls and what she has to do to…well, not suck, but all in all and judging by yena’s laugh at some of her ideas, she deems this an overall good experience.

So now for the phrase you wanted me to explain: 묻어두기엔 is composed out of the verb 묻다, grammar ~아/어 두다, and ~기에는.기 is a nominalizator - it makes nouns out of some verbs and then the particles 에 and 는. If you look at it separately it makes better sense to me. ^^

➽ ~아/어 두다 is used to express that an action has been done in advance is still ongoing/continuing   ⇨그 책을 여기 놓아 두세요. - Leave that book here please. 

➽~기에는 is a grammar meaning “for doing…/to do…”   ⇨걷기에는 너무 멀어요. - It’s too far to go by foot.

The meaning of this sentence “그저 묻어두기엔 이젠 버틸 수가 없는 걸.”  would mean something like “For me to leave it burried, (I can’t leave it like that because) I can’t stand it anymore”. It’s kind of awkward in English and you would probably use a completely different formulation when expressing this kind of thought.
