Do you love/hate/not feel strongly about this character? i hate him. passionately. ardently. with abandon. i hate him in the "Doctors HATE Her! Local Woman Discovers One Weird Trick to Staying Healthy Forever" way. like, how dare he! he made everything else moot. he is the answer to all things. thank glorb for him but also what is even the point of anything other than him now that he exists. he ruined my life. i'm obsessed with him.

If you could have one power/attribute/etc. of this character, what would it be? he Gets Shit Done. i would also very much like to Do Shit! i would not, however, like to have to undergo any of the things he underwent in developing that facet of his personality. hopefully that goes without saying.

When did you fall in love/hate with this character? If you don’t have any strong feelings toward them, why not? i actually do remember this! i was SUPER unimpressed with him for the first several episodes. my original reaction to his crush on wen qing, for example, was "pshh. you and everyone else [meaning me]. get in line mofo." first major nail in the coffin was in episode 11 when he has that sweet little smile on his face watching wei wuxian beat him at archery. clincher was episode 14 when he rescues wei wuxian and then brings him soup in bed, followed by parental fight and yunmeng shuangjie promise. that was it for me. there was no turning back after that.

Who’s your OTP for this character? my most important relationships for him are with his siblings, but for romantic ships i'm partial to chengqing, though i won't say no to a crackship, especially if it's to annoy wei wuxian. post-canon jc/lqr, anyone?

oh i rersearched a lot of stuff for various aus, but it wasn't really weird, like ship composition, wound treatment at that time, clothing styles, pirates in general, i have an entire paper on victorian asylums, i researched drugs and their effects on a human body extensively for a very old sex worker\client fic.... oh, also silver mining in nevada in 1880s (i think?) for the wild, the wayward and the wicked, and for this last one i also checked that i didn't use any words that didn't exist at that time. but idk how weird you can consider it

LMFAO ok so elese is the kind of girl that claims she isnt embarrassed by anything and frankly she doesn't get super easily embarrassed by her OWN actions often (both because she is kind of oblivious when it comes to insight and also she has an air of righteousness about everything that just screams Well If Nobody Liked what I Just Said then THEY Must Be Weird). BUT on the occasion where she knowssss she totally fucked up/said something weird around somebody shes close to THEN she gets embarrassed. she was raised to learn a rather pompous form of social etiquette so while she is stuck up she knows how to be polite at times. when she egregiously screws something up she really kicks herself for it lol. all of this to say she usually only really cares about this when shes around people shes close to (or if shes intimidated as hell) because elese loovvvveeeessss just saying things and acting like there will be no consequence because she's nobility

21. why do they get up in the morning? 

um 😍 i mean ORIGINALLY she woke up in the morning to continue her usual routine, didn't really have much ambition to push herself beyond her capabilities considering she wasn't in line to rise above her current station any time soon. she DID really love playing music though and considered that her biggest strength (and weirdly enough an act of rebellion????? her family probably didnt expect her to continue playing any instruments after they stopped hiring a tutor lol), so for a while she woke up to further that ambition!! CURRENTLY though she wakes up in the morning to survive another day and get this weird tadpole out of her head el oh el

23. how does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? 

SHES SO PETTY LMAOOOOOOO she gets envious so quickly too. her ego is so easily bruised its insane, and that is a one-sided grudge she carries around for a whillleeee. elese has only encountered a limited amount of people before and mostly all of them have done nothing but affirm her belief that she is the greatest bard around so her first encounter with other bards (that were on her level if not better than her) was just her being sooooo passive aggressive ghfdjkghskfgk. smiling so wide at alfira gritting her teeth going That Song was.............. 🙂 a Fine tribute 😀

27. what causes them to feel dread? 

QUITE A LOT especially now that she's outside in this totally unknown land. she's learning soooo much about what it's like out here and learning even more quickly that she is in NO WAY as prepared for anything as she thought she was lol. it's a tough lesson to learn but it's one she's gotta get over quickly bc shes got a bunch of people to fight and a long road ahead of her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Four, but only because Snow doesn't put thaaat much stock in visuals. He's also very much a 'once you love someone, they become more attractive to you' type of guy, so wherever someone starts on the scale isn't the most important.

All that said, he thinks Q is a beauty! Or whatever words he'd prefer.. he thinks he's handsome and pretty and striking, but he doesn't want to say these things because he doesn't know what Q prefers, and he doesn't want to offend him...

He has low expectations from Q, and he knows that Q would never call them friends, certainly not right now, and so he won't do so either. Still, he's hopeful for it- or rather, to try for it. Snow thinks of them as being on somewhat friendly terms, at least on his end of things.

He thinks Q's commanding personality and intensity are very attractive, and there's no denying that he gets the tiniest bit excited about it when Q orders or bosses him around... he'd very much like to see and experience it in different circumstances if the opportunity ever arose... However, he doesn't expect it to ever really happen and doesn't even need it, to be content with whatever their dynamic is.

And for as much as looks matter, he thinks Q is visually very attractive, too.

Snow has an incredibly difficult time discerning when he has romantic feelings for someone. He was never exposed to romance or examples of it in any form until he escaped from his church- and on top of that, he's a demi-romantic, so even the forms of it he does see don't quite match up with the way he feels towards people.

All that said, he feels Something towards Q, something small and nagging that keeps drawing him towards the Jade. He considers it a fascination with someone who acts in a way he's never seen before, and while that is partly true, there's also something in particular he likes about their dynamic. Snow really likes it when Q shows him attention, and he tries hard to not seek it out in ways that would cause problems between them, outside of his harmless pranks and such.

Even if he realized he developed feelings, though, he would be hesitant to address them, and he certainly wouldn't expect them to be returned. He thinks Q is way out of his league.

there's comments on some pretty heartfelt pieces that rub me the wrong way especially some of them on this piece but i was so giddy when someone just said what was being drawn

vin 1000% that boy never sleeps despite how badly he wants and needs to. he's always got something on his plate that he has to do </3 if only i was his creator and could just make him sleep
