You have a lot of Big headcanons, but what about Ken headcanons?

I absolutely have Ken headcanons omg thank you for continuing to indulge me 🥰

Ken's accent when speaking Thai suggests that he didn't grow up in Thailand, and obviously his accent in English is Australian... I imagine he grew up in Australia but is estranged from his family there, and moved to Thailand by himself in his late teens to get away.

he didn't know anyone there or have any money, and he'd spoken a tiny bit of Thai growing up, but was by no means fluent. so he struggled, and did what he had to do to get by. he started out fighting in underground rings and occasionally working the streets in the more touristy nightlife areas but mostly dealing Theerapanyakul drugs - and then some of the more powerful dealers started paying him to work as a bodyguard for them, and he started working his way up. by the time he met Chan, he had several years of unofficial 'bodyguard' experience and a serious reputation.

it took him a while to get used to living and working in the Theerapanyakul compound. most of the Thai he knew he'd learned on the streets, and so definitely wasn't considered acceptable for addressing any of the Theerapanyakuls. adapting to the entirely new way of speaking and living was a struggle - though he would shoot himself before ever admitting when he was confused or needed help. but Big kind of took Ken under his wing, and he was pretty good at casually explaining things without letting Ken pick up on the fact he’d noticed he was struggling.

Ken would never ever admit that he'd caught feelings for Big, but he had. gradually he ends up with a lot of bitterness towards Kinn because of how Big pines after him.

he spent a lot of his life being underestimated, and as a result has a compulsive need to prove himself - he's willing to throw almost anyone under the bus so long as it demonstrates his own competence.

he speaks a whole bunch of languages. he grew up speaking several at home, and he's just one of those people who picks language up really quickly. he ends up taking on a lot of translation work in addition to his bodyguard duties (kind of like how Arm is also the tech guy lol), translating exchanges with the Italians and the Japanese and the other mafias for both the major and minor families.

this is how he ends up getting close to the minor family. he stayed at the minor family compound for a few days when he worked on a job with them and Vegas seduced him.

he resents Kinn, and Gun and Vegas seem certain that the minor family is going to take over in the end, and he's growing to despise feeling disposable in his subordinate position, and Gun promises he'll spare Big so long as Ken gets on board -

so he agrees to help them.

Ken isn’t in love with Vegas. he pretends to be, though, because he does believe that Vegas is in love with him - and Ken is in love with the idea of having seduced a hot mafia heir and the idea of the power and money and lifestyle that would go along with that - and he’s in love with the idea that he's not in love with Big.

so he gives Vegas information and sleeps with him and sees himself as being in control and one step ahead because he’s not actually in love with Vegas. he is... wrong. obviously. he's not in control at all. Vegas just lets him think he is.

he and Tawan know about each other, and Vegas plays them off of one another ("Tawan's so needy"; "Tawan doesn't get me like you…"; "my dad's forcing me to do this with Tawan, I feel so exploited, at least I have this that's real" etc etc)

he doesn't always get on with the other bodyguards because he can be abrasive and quick to anger and overly competitive - but he's actually pretty chill most of the time. he’s an acquired taste. Pol especially thinks he's fucking hilarious.

courtesy of @aikinn: Ken is technically bisexual, but he thinks women are cringe so he's functionally gay lmao. gay like the Greeks were gay. gay (misogynistically). he's basically that offensive bi college girl stereotype except he's a guy - he made out with a few girls at parties as a teenager, but has only ever fucked or had real feelings for men lol

and my personal favourite stupid headcanon: his guilty pleasure is Australian reality TV. it's the perfect way to indulge in his favourite past-time - judging people without getting punched about it. Big comes into their room after work and is like "ffs, this had better not be Australian Love Island again"🙄 Ken's like "it's actually Married at First Sight: Australia, so."
