It breaks my heart to think how much more of life he had to live and yet it was taken from him. He was only 23 and his wife was pregnant. To think they had so much happiness to expierience and so many years to live togheter, it's just...

He was so young and witnessed so much pain and yet he turned that expieriences into such beautiful words. He was so talented and so brave and i hope we will always remember him.

Hi I’m so sorry!! Fell off the face of the earth again. This is so KIND AHHH!!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I didn’t realize how much I missed writing for Star Trek until I came back to it. This was a trope I’d always wanted to write too so it felt nice to explore how I’d wanna do that. Peebles came to me in like a 3AM thought and normally I discard those but I just knew I had to keep him.

she only accepted affection when it was on her own terms , ravagers didn't do that mushy stuff ( though anyone who knew her would completely disagree , of course not out loud , that she was probably the softest person they knew ) Cherri only put up that front because she had to mostly all of her life. She just barely registers the other lady coming closer , opening her arms , and there's no time for Cherri to react other than a ' no . no . no , get away from me ! ' protest that obviously didn't help her case at all. She couldn't move fast enough to get out of the way , or to hide.

A metal hand reaches for her knife but -- there's a groan when she spots it on the table not too far away. But she lets herself be hugged , close contact and the feeling of being protected , it makes her body relax without her wanting it to.

It wasn't a surprise at all to Shuichi, that Izuru could tell something was wrong with him. From his demeanor, to the expression on his face: it was clear as day, he was upset about something. Even when Izuru had come to visit, he didn't greet him with the usual eagerness and smile like he always would: more like a weak one, that even he couldn't hold up for long...

As his boyfriend proceeded to make him tea, Shuichi silently stared down at the table he was sitting at. ".........." Only when the cup is sat down before him, does he look up at him. "Ah. Thank you..." He takes a few sips. His favorite flavor.... With a soft exhale, he finally feels a bit more ready to speak. "Izuru.... why is your boyfriend so pathetic?" A bitter laugh leaves him. It was a rhetorical question, of course. He knows Izuru would never truly think that of him.... "Everytime I think I'm getting just a little better at being more confident in myself, someone just has to say the right thing to completely shatter that."

"Like.... some others at school earlier... 'die hard fans of Kyouko', they call themselves, teasing me about how... there's no need for 'two detectives.' That Kirigiri-senpai is the much better... m-more professional and fitting one. I-I mean, not that they're wrong, they're not wrong at all about that. B-But.... just because I specialize in more 'smaller' cases... that I'm much more meek and sometimes doubt myself... th-they said I'm just a 'laughable excuse of a detective.' Th-That she probably feels embarrassed to share a title with me, and that I should just drop out. They all said, while laughing at me..."

His hand grips the handle of the teacup tighter, simply recalling the moment. Having his skills as a detective mocked, throwing his insecurities right into his face... all while being laughed at: it was a mixture of the worst feeling ever. And as much as he wanted to respond, to snap back at them and tell them off: he couldn't. At that moment, he wanted to just...get away from them. And so, he ran off..all the way back to his dorm, and staying inside ever since. That's why he was only just now, seeing Izuru for the first time, today... "I..I hate it. I hate it so much...that I still let things like that, get to me. Those kinds of thoughts... would always plague my head, back when I was a new student at this school. O-Overtime, I slowly have gotten better and not thinking of myself so lowly. And yet...i-it still hurts... being told such things..."

He could still hear their laughing voices in his mind... it made him so angry, he honestly wanted to cry... "...I'm sorry. Izuru... for being such a big baby... and whining to you like this. I-I... really am happy you came to see me. Thank you..." He gazes back up at him.. he still looked upset, but that familiar softness in his eyes was there. The kind only Izuru can get from him... "Just seeing you, already helps me feel better...."
