This is a chance to introduce my new sims :

Kaya ( La Femme – Vagues): She is tender yet strong, rejecting labels and embracing freedom in any situation. She possesses exquisite intelligence but remains delightfully simple. Kaya reminds me of La Femme's entire repertoire. The chosen song is about overcoming the past. The only thing that keeps Kaya grounded is her memories. Once she heals from her pain, she’ll be able to soar.

Demian ( Idles- I’m Scum): Demian embodies rebellion and rule-breaking, a trait that both defines him and presents a perpetual challenge. I selected this song for its rhythm and ironic message. However, Demian also reminds me of all the songs in Idles' repertoire. He’s a bit eccentric, but incredibly self-aware and kind.

They complement each other perfectly. Kaya balances Demian's impulsiveness with her tenderness. Demian balances Kaya's anxiety with his irony.

the bone orchard by sara a. mueller. framed as a who-done-it mystery of the death of a king but also a type of psychic magic exists within the world. i haven’t reached the end of this, but so far i feel that this story was not benefitted by advertising it as such. it makes me anticipate a very different kind of story instead of appreciating what it is

the memory theater by karin tidbeck this is my second time trying to read this, i can’t seem to stay focused enough to appreciate the nuances of a fey society at this time. 🤧

one i WOULD rec though, “the long way to a small angry planet” by becky chambers. this author writes their characters so wonderfully and with so much care, it’s a motley crew of space fairing adventures and so much more
