ahh of love and lemons…! after reading part 1 yesterday , i may have went and read all of it on ao3 before work 🫣…was def a smidge late to logging in but so worth because i enjoyed it so much!

and just a a bit ago woke up to my phone crashing from my bed at 4 am so i was like eh ok i’m up and decided to hop on here and caught part 2 and immediately had to read!

i loved the original, and i love this re-edited version too 💗! there’s just something subtly different i notice as i read. just as wonderful in content but just a little bit smoother and has me swooning even more 😌! …the make out sesh, the pancakes, the syrup! all the lil moments…i just…melting even more in a puddle of feels haha.

even tho i went and read all the parts on ao3 i’m still so excited for the rest on here and get to relive the happiness reading it! was a great mind break from a stressful week! (both times reading it haha).

The absolute fury in Nick's eyes is certainly a surprise. Taylor has to swallow hard as he raises both hands in a calming gesture.

"I'm very- this is a difficult thing for me." Nick admits and turns his face towards Taylor, so open and vulnerable. He doesn't have to explain anything, Taylor can read it in the twitch of his brow, the tension in the corner of his eyes.

His fingertip reaches Nick's cheek, pokes it once, softly.

"I'm sorry. C'mere." Nick sinks sidewards into his arms before he's even finished the sentence. They both sigh in sync.

"I'm not angry." a mumble against Taylor's collarbone as he tightens the hug around the other man's shoulders.

"I know. Just *disappointed*, right?" he chuckles, in an attempt to lift the mood.

Nick huffs the tiniest laugh, the warm air making Taylor's skin tingle. He hopes Nick can't hear his heartbeat picking up under his cheek.

I really enjoyed "Chance Encounters". There's something so compelling about starting out with characters as complete strangers. It leaves so much more room for tension, hnnnnng. Ed's always a bit of a cunt but as the "Riddler" he has some sense of security being allied with Scarecrow. I crave him being a little shit and not realizing the possible danger lurking. I want him to fuck around AND find out. Your work is exquisite as usual, perfectly seasoned with a distinct umami notes.

When it comes to the dynamic of Jonathan and Edward the "fuck around and find out" aspect to their relationship will always be my favourite lol. And it goes both ways because both men are intelligent/arrogant enough to believe that they genuinely know what the other is capable of/going to do at any given moment and they're so fucking WRONG that it's borderline hilarious.
