i think it’s odd that the main male cast in murder drones (n, thad, khan) are all very dumb-ified by the fandom. albeit a very specific group of people, not the entirety of the fandom. (my findings are just from reading md fanfiction + posts on tumblr and other websites)

like okay, you can joke that thad’s a himbo so making him stupid lines up with that. but for n and khan, they’re almost written as incompetent, they can’t do anything by themselves without their respective purple partners coming to help them and n is just your “soft uwu puppy boy” and khan’s your “silly dumb door obsessed guy“

which, when i think about it more, i find it weird. the main women in this show are actively shitted on no matter what they do, so you’d assume that they’d favor the guys, but then they just completely fuck them up like this and it makes me wonder if you don’t like any of the girls, and you misinterpret all of the guys, what the actual hell do you like this show for?

1 year ago, to this day, my friend bought me Sonic Frontiers. It has now been 1 year of me being completely hyperfixed on the blue blur, his twin tailed brother, and all the others. I can't thank my friend enough for what he did.

I will be taking a week or two off from posting, just as a small break.

In a year, there have been

646 drawing pages (at least, saved on my phone)

2 au's (Re:Donely and Road Trip)

So many friends and acquaintances (if you know who you are, pat yourself on the back)

Hundreds of laughs

Dozens of au's I've become obsessed with

Too many times where I redesigned a character

and 1 year where I have certainly smiled at least once each day.

theres always just this odd fixation on making the men around anya that aren't jimmy this blameless savior who would've fixed it if theyd just known when its far from the truth, these are complex people with their own flaws. i dont hate the hcs i dont hate the nicer comics, not at all, but its just frustrating when even the devs start to play into the whole "oh we dont talk about him we dont talk about the danger that needs to be talked about" yknow, like how ignoring it was the whole issue in the game

this is kinda rambly and all over the place but idk, i think its just something i like to ponder. like i dont even think its a "media literacy" issue, its a wanting to categorize people into good and evil issue. jimmy is evil so you have to strip him of his humanity and make him comically villainous, the others are good so they have to only be well meaning people or perfect victims. its a very human thing to do tbh, and theres comfort in denying the "normal" people around you, your friend, your coworker, etc, are jimmies

crucially after their one (1) kind of a joke kind of serious date eddie kisses chimney stupid after walking chimney to the door of his and maddie's house. tongue at all. like it starts as silly both of them tipsy and kind of snickering but then eddie Puts His Mind To It as he's not a man to half-ass anything. it doesn't even last two minutes but chim short-circuits anyway and eddie breaks it off and starts laughing and patting chimney on his shoulder and then he says, see you tomorrow at work!, and walks away without looking back. chimney walks inside in a daze while maddie's on the couch with jee and doesn't get further than "So hypothetically speaking-" before maddie says, "We're not having a threesome with Eddie." without looking up from whatever she and jee are doing. and chimney sighs a little wistfully and dreams about it at least two times a year in a totally chill and casual way.
