To Thanatos: What would you say to your old self from just before and beginning of the whole Persephone ordel if you ever had the chance?
Thanatos: hm... maybe i'd say to myself "Minthe is not worth it"
Thanatos: also "Try yoga". That would've lead me to Daphne eventually and get me into the right path... perhaps.

Lore Olympus but Thanatos takes Dionysus from Persephone as soon as he sees him in the Underworld cuz..ain't no way he's letting another child get neglected and ignored like he was.
Also.
"You think I'd be a good father?" "No, absolutely not, you use your past as a way to treat people like shit and then act as if you're misunderstood. You couldn't even take responsibility for me when I was a damn child."
Like..let Thanatos be so DONE with both Hades and Persephone (Also. Nyx would hate how Hades treated her baby boy--) also..Erebos taking Persephones powers as a little 'fuck you' cuz since she's been in the Underworld everything's been shit 💀 like..Justice for Thanatos-
(And let Daphne actually support him!! And understand where he's coming from, also. They both wouldn't go to that tacky ass wedding-

Did anyone confront/comfort Thetis after Achilles'... death?... I know how all of her relationships are like... but still... let it be a small mercy that she doesn't have to mourn alone.
Thanatos: *goes visit Thetis after taking Achilles' soul*
Minthe: *accompanying him*
Leuce: *opens*
Minthe: hey Leuce... is she...?
Leuce: in her bedroom...

Hey, LO fandom, i need some help here. I think i finally realised why the white hair in Dionysus desing bothers me. Well, not really, i think the hair looks nice with the purple skin, but that's not the point. What bothers me is that he has white hair "Like Hades and Ouranos" is not even about the creators giving him white hair so he would remind Persephone of Hades and having her wanting to keep the baby, i know a lot of LO fans and LO antis didn't like that. And while i am not against the idea of Perse wanting to adopt baby Dio because he reminds her of Hades, i have a problem with the execution of that idea.
First , i want to point out that... Hades doesn't really have white hair (?) i might be totally wrong because i have terrible eye sight and i'm not good with colors, but i am almost sure that Hades hair is a very, very, light shade of blue.
Like:
Tumblr media
At least it looks blue to me. I thought "meybe his hair IS white, but it reflects the cold blue tones of the underword and it makes it look blue-ish" but under that logic, Dio's hair should do the same and it doesn't:
Tumblr media
Dio's hair is REALLY white, white like a cloud and Hades is light blue. I am not saying that it has never been a panel where Hades hair looks white, because LO is extremely inconsistent when it comes to colors and i do remember at least one or two panels where Hades has white hair, But you can't tell me that Dionysus has white hair "like Hades" and then show me this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can really tell that they don't have the same hair color. Also, remeber this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is true that Hades and Ouranos have very similar hair color, mostly because Ouranos hair are clouds, but again all i see here is light blue with white lights (?)
Tumblr media
And this is where my problem with Dio's desing comes in, because Persephone said this:
Tumblr media
And, NO? HE DOESN'T? Perse, sweetie, this kid doesn't look anything like your husband. He Is purple like his dad (Zeus), has his brother's curly hair (Ares) and doesn't even have the same hair color as your husband, i understand that most men in LO look the same but having the same hair color is not enough to make me believe that Dio looks like Hades. Specialy when we have Hades looking like Pepaw Ouranos and Zeus being a purple version of Kronos.
Meybe is just the shading, because we have other characters with white hair, like Thetis, Athena and Thanatos, but they have the same problem with their hair changing colors in each apereance they have. I mean, Thetis has white hair in her debut:
Tumblr media
And now her hair looks munch more blue:
Tumblr media
Meybe it is just the shading. Do i have a point here or i did i really just miss that Hades hair is white? I am not trying to crap on the webtoon or anything, i just want to see if anyone else noticed this, because i haven't seen many people point it out.

Nah, they aren't dating, they're just really close friends, and I mean that in the literal sense, not in the "they're really close friends wink wink" sense LMAO So yeah Hermes just calls a lot of his friends babe (ノ´ з `)ノ

Legendary Creatures: Personification of Death
Tumblr media
By Jbuzbee - Own work, CC BY 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=4835571
Many cultures have a representation of death, either as the cause of a person's death through the removal of the person's soul or as a guide to the afterlife (a psychopomp). Death is often also the guardian of dead bodies. Throughout this death as the end of life will be minuscule and Death as a personification will be majescule.

Aztecs view Death as a Queen of the Underworld (Mictlan), Mictecacihuatl, ruling over it with her husband Mictlantecuhtli. The Lady of the Dead, who was represented by a 'fleshless body…with jaw agape to swallow the stars during the day', also kept watch over bones. Her ancient festivals morphed into the modern Dia de los Muertos as the Catholic colonizers took over.

In India, Death is King Yama (यम राज, Yama Rāja) also is the King of Karmic Justice (Dharmaraja). He rides a buffalo and lassos the soul to lead it to his home Naraka. He also has aids called Yamadutas (यमदूत) that bring in souls as well. King Yama judges the souls and decides what their next life should be or if they've reached moksha/nirvana (मोक्ष/निर्वाण).

Yama (閻魔/閻摩), also known as King Yan (閻王/阎王) or Yanlou (閻羅王/阎罗王), came to China via Buddhism and ruled over the ten gods of Diyu (the underworld). He typically wears a judge's cap with the character 王 (king) on it. He determines the path that a soul will take, whether good fortune or suffering, before being returned to earth in the cycle of reincarnation.

Yama entered Japan as the Greak King Enma (閻魔大王). He was only the judge. The personification of death was Izunami (formally Izanami-no-Kami 伊弉冉尊 or Izanami-no-Mikoto 伊邪那美命), who was burnt to death while she gave birth to the god of fire, Hinokagutsuchi. She's sent to Yomi-no-Kuni (the realm of night) where her husband Izanagi tries to rescue her but finds her no longer beautiful. They fight and she swears to take a thousand lives every day, becoming Death. She tives birth to Raijin (the god of lightning, thunder, and storms) and Fuujin (the god of the wind). There are minor death gods called shinigami (死神) that take care of the more personal tasks of death.

Among the Canaanites of the 13th century BCE, Mot (Phoenician 𐤌𐤕 mūt Hebrew מות māweṯ Arabic موت mawt) was the psychopomp and god of the underworld. He is a son of 'El (the supreme god) and lives in a city called Mirey (hmry). Ba'al (Hadad, the storm and rain god) warned the other gods 'that you not come near to divine Death, lest he make you like a lamb in his mouth, (and) you both be carried away like a kid in the breach of his windpipe'. Ba'al is devoured by Mot, then buried by Shapash, goddess of the sun, and 'Anat, his sister and goddess of warfare and hunting, 'Anat attacks Mot, splitting him with a blade, winnowing (tossing him up in the air and sifting what remains), burns him up, then grinds him up before tossing him in a field for the birds to eat. 'El (also Ba'al's father) dreams that Ba'al is alive and sends Shapash to disinter him. Seven years later, Mot comes back, seeking his vengeance on Ba'al until Shapash warns Mot that 'El will take away his throne if he doesn't knock it off, so he does.

Among the Hebrews, Death is seen as an 'Angel of the Lord' who passes though camps and nations to slay their enemies, and as a 'destroying angel' and as Azra'il (עֲזַרְֵל ʿǍzarʾēl, 'God has helped') and 'Abaddon' (אֲבַדּוֹן Ăḇaddōn, 'Destruction' or 'doom'). Death could also be another god that God could turn over Judah to as punishment for worshiping other gods, the group of angels, at times, that destroy those not protected by the guardian angels. It was thought that the soul escaped through the mouth, so Death waits by the head of the person. A cry goes around the world, even if people can't hear it. Death may wield a sword, a knife, a noose (cord), or hot lead. Death is also a shape-shifted, taking on the form most needed at the time. Gradually, this became six angels of Death, 'Gabriel over kings; Ḳapẓiel over youths; Mashbir over animals; Mashḥit over children; Af and Ḥemah over man and beast', which seems an extension of the shape-shifting ability.

Among early Christians, they adopted the form of death that was local to them as well as that presented in the Book of Revelations, where Death (Thanatos, as early Christian writers were very Hellenized) is one of the horsemen of the apocalypse. And the apostle Paul states 'O Death, where is your sting' in the first letter to the Corinthians. They viewed Death as impotent to them since they expected that the world would end soon and they would be granted Heaven (a type of paradise reserved for those who follow the teachings of Jesus). Sometimes, as in the book addressed to the Hebrews, the power of death is held by the devil (the spiritual enemy of believers). At the end of the mortal realm, after the apocalypse, Death is to be destroyed.

In Islam, the Archangel Azrael (عزرائيل) is the Malak al-Maut (angel of death) and is in charge of many others that do the work of removing souls from bodies and guiding them through their journey. Their exact appearance will depend on the type of life the person lived (beautiful for the good, for example). After the body is buried, two angels, Munkar and Nakir (منكر ونكير, 'The Denied and The Denier'), who test the dead and determine their afterlife. If the person answers correctly, they go on to live in peace, else wise, they are punished. Death itself is seen just as a transition rather than an ending.

Thanatos (Θᾰ́νᾰτος) is the son of Nyx (Νύξ personification night), though he and his brother Hypnos (Ὕπνος personification of sleep) usually have no father, though sometimes Erebus (Ἔρεβος personification of darkness). According to Hesiod, the sun 'never looks upon them [Hypnos and Thanatos], And the former of them roam peacefully over the earth and the sea's broad back and is kindly to men; but the other has a heart of iron, and his spirit within him is pitiless as bronze: whomsoever of men he has once seized he holds fast: and he is hateful even to the deathless god'. The only person recorded as escaping Thanatos is Sisyphus, who tricked Thanatos into chaining himself up, preventing anyone from dying for a time, until Ares (Ἄρης god of war) released him. Next, Sisyphus convinced Persephone (Περσεφόνη queen of the underworld) to release him so that his wife could have a proper funeral for him. It took Hermes dragging Sisyphus to Tartarus and setting him to work rolling a boulder up a hill until it rolled back down before it reached the top. As the idea of Elysian Fields (Ἠλύσιον πεδίον, a type of paradise reserved for heroes and the upright and chosen) developed, Thanatos became less feared and more beautiful and gentle.

Okay, since I’ve just randomly randomly just reblogging Thanatos things,I decided to actually post things, more specifically an LO rewrite because f it.
At its core I do think LO is a good story, just that bad writing has squandered any potential it has to be good,so please have my take on this.(more specifically my take on Persephone, hades, and Thanatos because I have to stay on brand)
Anyways-
(The sequel)
Persephone:
She’s older.shes physically in her late 20’s/early 30’s and about seven to eight centuries older.
Her AoW only extended to those ransacking the garden.(I swear,it would have been so much more understandable to root for her if it only extended to 4-5 people instead of an ENTIRE CITY,since we know other gods have done much worse)
Her work in the underworld was mandated by Zeus as community service for the AoW.
This is more or less Zeus hitting two birds with one stone,he gets perse to make community service and maybe(hopefully) gets hades to open up to the smucks outside of the underworld because he now has an employee not from there.
Due to her guilt about the AoW,she decides that while she’s working in the underworld she’ll set out to be the best her she can be and make up for the souls she took.
At first nobody really likes her and they just think she’s someone who needed to be dragged here by Zeus and won’t amount to anything, but she ends up being the hardest working of the staff and getting a fairly infamous “employee of the month” streak, her only real fumble being Sisyphus(of which she rightfully corrected totally not being getting Hermes to drag his ass down back to the underworld and give his his infamous punishment,of which instantly gave her back any respect she lost.
She’s the type of person you think you can disrespect until she gets genuinely mad at someone,in which case everyone goes out of their way to be nice to her even though it takes a lot to get her mad.
Demeter never sheltered her, just that she heard from her mother and brother(oh yeah Plutus is in this au their twins) about the shit that happened up their(even saw it for herself a few times)and decided to nope out of that drama.
She likes the underworld a more than Olympus due to the fact people don’t get butthurt nearly as much, due to them needing to deal with crap from other gods and sometimes mortals(like Sisyphus)
Demeter was an amazing mama and nobody can convince me otherwise.
Plutus told her about the underworld so she does know a bit,but otherwise it’s a cultural shock.
She brings homemade baklava in every day of work.
She actually sent a letter to Demeter telling her about the community service…however she never got it thanks to a certain daughter of Nyx always dead set on causing discord.
Hades:
It took him two solid seconds to realize what Zeus’ plan was with Persephone so he initially looked for any reason to fire her, until he learned she was here for community service and just decided to wait out her punishment(jokes on him Zeus forgot to tell perse what her sentence was so she worked in the underworld for like a year until demeter found her when in reality she was supposed to be there for like two months)
He does eventually soften up to her(obviously) but it takes a while and a lot of baklava.
Honest to god I have no idea how to incorporate minthe in this au
Leuce is his dead wife, she died fairly recently so he’s still hesitant to connect with anyone.(“I miss my wife,Thanatos,I miss her a lot I’ll be back-“)
Recently he’s been coping via sinking into his work,Hecate and the others have taken notice but they don’t really know what to do.(their the ones that CAUSE death not deal with it)
He slowly started distancing himself from the rest of his family after the titanomachy and even more so after leuce died.
The only person he acts openly soft around is Thanatos, who he views as a son.
The only part of his extended family he interacts with is Hermes, who he actually has a really good relationship with(albeit still strained since leuce)
Fuck it.everyone has flowers symbolism.
Hades is white lilies(subject to change),perse is asphodels, thanatos(and Hypnos) is poppies, leuce is forget-me-nots,Demeter is daylilies,Plutus is orchids,Hecate is nightshades or cow parsley.
Thanatos:
He genuinely finds it hard to focus on doing his job,so people just call him lazy,so he doesn’t really try to set the bar high in return because he knows he’ll just end up disappointing everyone.
The only person who doesn’t have low expectations and wants him to try his best at his own rate is hades, who understands he finds it hard to focus but still wants him to try his best anyways.
Rotates between living with hades and Nyx(who is an extremely doting mother.
Hypnos still resides within the hr department and Thanatos helps him hide because the last thing he needs is a grumpy Hypnos.
He deals with peaceful deaths while Hermes and the keres deal with the rest.
He’s the type of person to tell himself one moment he’s gonna be really productive today and then spend the next fifteen minutes chatting away with a butterfly.
Also he can talk to butterflies.but nobody believes him except Hermes, perse, and Nyx.
The moment he finds out what Eris did she gets the “WHY WOULD YOU THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA?!?!!?” Of her life.then queue Thanatos and the other Nyx children present trying to get her to explain why she thought this was a good idea and her just saying “bc it’s funny”
Erebus = dad with no physical body who still interact with me via shadows.hades = dad with physical body who I want to impress but I don’t know how.
(If you didn’t catch on he has adhd)
