The Spiritual Meaning of Autumn: Time of Finding Balance and Calm in The Year (And... In your Life!)
Many people... Always feel sad, at the arrival of Autumn. Not because they may suffer from ''The Seasonal Depression'' (Which is, when for the change of duration in sunlight; some persons fall in depression, until that season; ends), because the change in sunlight and in weather; means than they are forced to spends more times indoors than outdoors, feeling bored and doing all the things they were intentionally postponing; and than now they most do, 'cause all social activities have become scarce; and this is the only thing they must do, to forget their annoyance... But Autumn, is not a season to despises to; no... Is an oportunity to do something than we forgot to do, in our fast and loud modern society...
...To relax and find balance, and our time with our closer love ones; or alone!
The Autumn Equinox (like in Spring), is the time when the day and night; has the same lenght; which is different from The Summer's and Winter's Solstices, where the day and night; has a different lenghts. The Spring and Summer, are seasons of many social activities; were all is full of color: The Spring, is associated with Love and Life; while Summer, is associated with Passion and Adventure; and these two seasons, overall; are associated with Youth, Beauty and Joy, which explains why the arrival of Autumn; may feels ominous for many people: Autumn... Is associated with Sadness, Decay... And the Darkness than starts to grows and to permeates everything around us. But, if you takes your time to reflexionate about it; Autumn, may be equally as fun and/or important, as its brights and colorful sisters.
This is the things you can do (with your love ones, or by yourself), to revitalizes your heart and soul; and, as a moment to connect in this season; with Deities/Nature/The Earth:
Taking an slow little walk, while feeling Autumn with your senses: The smell in the air of the soil mixed with rainwater, the sight of the fallen leaves in its different colors; the feeling of the earth beneath your shoes/boots, etc... Will helps you to connect to Nature/Spirits/Deities/, by being relax; and being in the present moment.
Watching the rain fall in front of a window, while reading a book; drinking a tea, or both: You will feel the positive and magical side of Autumn with these activities, be it than you are sitting with a coat; with a big duvet/blanket over your clothes, or... Even sitted in bed.
Seeing an clean and beautiful sky, after the rain: If appears a rainbow, will gives you the chance to feel magic and hope; despite the gray clouds around the rainbow. (But... That feeling is as equal as powerful, by seeing a clean and bright night of Autumn; after the rain!)
Enjoying the sounds of a Thunderstom: Just like Electrical Storms... It will connect you to the raw energies of The Planet, and with Gaia's Heartbeat; and also... To the Deities of The Thunder!
Amazing yourself by seeing an Electrical Storm: Nothing like seeing an Electrical Storm, to connects to the magic and power of the Air and Storm Deities; and... You'll have something to watch, when electricity is gone! (Note: Watch them inside of home, at 1 or 2 meters awat from windows; for your safety!)
Converts an area of your house in your personal refuge, from the chaos of The World: If could be your Attic, your cellaret; your basement, or... A little room than you never found a use to it; until now: Turning it into a beatiful place to shut yourself for a few minutes, when be around people became too draining; or, after a very hard day at work/college/street. And... Don't worry about spends a lot of money, in this project: Trowed what can't be used anymore (or sell what you still have in good state) of that place of the house, painted in a soft or neutral color; put one chair and a tiny table to sitted in comfort, hang a beautiful drawing than calm you or a motivational quote where light hit it, buy an tiny ceramic essential oil burner with its tealight candle, put the light candle under the ceramic plate; put 1 or 2 drops of an essential oil for Spirituality over the ceramic plate oil burner (Frankincense, Lavander or Sage Oil; for example), and... Enjoy your new space for Meditation/Calm Time/Me Time/Praying!
Making a Homemade Dessert/Sweet, to eat it slowly: You can make this as offering to The Deities/Spirits/Nature, and/or to have a moment for you! Eating a little piece of your creation without a hurry, and without distrations; remains us of the sacredness of eating and being in the present, by focus only in the sensation of every bite; tasting each spoonful, and feeling the softness/hardness/dryness/humidity/warmess/coldness of what are you eating, at that moment. (If you are diabetic/hypertense/allergic... Use recipes for your condition, and be mindful of eating an small portion; and leaving the rest to eat the next day, or share it!)
Takes a time for yourself to only drawns, dances; sings, writes poetry or an story; which makes you feel relax: When you creates with your hands, or moves your body and/or voice; you are connecting with your own spirit, and with the creative forces of The Universe; plus, with The Deities of The Arts and Inspiration (which they needs than we are in a calm and quiet state, so we can recieve their energies/inspiration more easily; and we can create with less difficult); 'cause we can't recieves the messages when we are stressed/restless. (So now you know, what you can make the next time you need to find inspiration/creativity: Do something fun without thinking, at home... And you will recieves a visit, from The Muses!)
Meditate about what area/s in your life are out of balance; and what you can do to improve it/them: Takes this time to sit quietly for a least five minutes without any distrations, and thinks in what important part of your life; you are dedicating too much or too little time: You are spending to much time in Spirituality?!... Time to spend more time with your family or friends, to avoid fall into isolation or fanatism. Your Emprendurism is receiving little attention from you, lately?!... Takes 20 minutes or more of your day, to see how you can improve it; or see if you should change to another kind of Emprendurism or Business than will be more easy for you to manage and invert money in it. Your SO, is demanding you more time and you are not feeling lately the desire to pass more time with him/her/them?!... Maybe is time to think if that relation have a future, and what you can do to improve it; or end it in the less painful way possible. When all our areas (Health/Wellbeing/Social Life/Alone Time/Wealth/Spirituality), are mostly well... We can feel at peace with our lifes! AND, at last...
At the moment the sunlight, dies out... Take it to talk to your Deities, or reveal in their presence/energy: Twilight... Is a very misterious time, when The Human World and The Spiritual World, suddenly get connected; and many weird phenomenons, happen with ease. (I know that for my own experiences, when The Gods and Goddesses have appeared in front of me in that moment of the day; suddenly and mostly in front of me) So, if you need to ask them for something very important; talks them of something than worries you, or; thanks them, but you misses the magical moment of the early morning, after waking up; and you can't wait to bedtime then, keep calm; and... Wait for Twilight!
That's all for today: Happy Belated Mabon Greetings! And, balances The Darkness and Light in you... So Be It!

Running away
After fleeing the Fire Nation's land you found yourself in a small fishing village. Filled with flowers in spring and sunlight in the summer, with piles of leaves in autumn and a tad of snow in winter. Just a hint of whiteness.Â
The last thing you would've expected from your travels was to end up here, having somewhat of a normal life, filled with joy. The only thing you would've changed was your last conversation with a certain someone.Â
âYou used to have long hair,â a familiar but distant voice said, as you turned around.Â
"You used to be shorter," you said, face as serious as you could.
With a still straight face she said, "I could have you executed for that."
"Only if you can catch me," you finally broke a smile.
"True," Azula said, smiling as well.Â
"What brings you to this lovely and remote area of the world," you asked, pulling some things off the table.
"I was searching for someone. They owe me a goodbye," she said playfully.
You put some water in a kettle, "I believe they said goodbye already."
"Did they?"
"I gave you a letter, it's more than I did to most," you defended.Â
"You didn't give me a letter."Â
"Well, I hid it in your room. You found it, you can't lie to me Azula," you laughed.Â
She tried to maintain a serious face but dropped it soon as well, "I did find it."Â
"I couldn't exactly leave it laying around, not with everything that was happening."
"I understand," she nodded. "I just wish you had given it to me."Â
"I thought of it, but it was late. I had to ninja my way for it, I'm very proud of that," you said.
"Because of the guards?"Â
"Yeah, that and the fact that everyone had my face in a reward posterâŚ"Â
She clasped her hands together and nodded.Â
"Why are you still standing, Zula?" You said bringing a kettle of tea to the table and sitting down. "Get comfortable, do you want anything else?"
"No, it's fine," she said, shifting in her spot.Â
"Is everything okay?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't it be," she asked in a paranoid tone.
"No reason," you said as she sat down. "Did you really come all this way just to get a goodbye?"
"Don't be silly, y/n. It's on the way in my travels," she lied.Â
It had been too long since she last saw you, and the way your voice strained in your throat took her off balance. Perhaps this was how you'd always spoken, but she didn't think so. Maybe she had just grown too paranoid.
"Where are you going?" You asked.Â
"Oh, let's not speak of that. How are you?"Â
The question rocked you off your place, but you managed not to show it.Â
"Well, I'm doing well. There's not much to do around here but fishing, so I do that, and sell that as well. I'm growing this tree in the back, it used to have a torn branch and it was falling off, but now it's looking good," you explained. "Sorry, you're probably bored by this." You said, knowing Azula wasn't one to be interested in the common occurrences of life.
"No, continue," she dismissed. And as you raised your eyebrow asked, "Please."Â
"Well, there is also a small dragon-moose that comes around every now and then, searching for food. I tend to leave a pot of fresh water and some leftovers for him." You paused to sip on your tea, "Other than that it's all pretty calm. There's mostly old people here, so no one asks many questions. They usually tell stories to me, not the other way around, which is good."Â
It was good, Azula thought. If you were still in hiding, even if you weren't in Fire Nation soil, it was good for people not to ask many questions.Â
"How do you know it's the same dragon-moose?" She found herself asking, much to her own surprise.
You were taken a bit aback by the question but answered anyways. "Oh, he has a little white spot in between the eyes. Plus he always waits for me to sit down before he eats the food. I don't know why, really."
She smiled, again to her surprise. How simple your life was, and how content with it you sounded. All you did was fish, feed animals and listen to old people's stories, and yet you looked like the happiest person in the world.Â
âIt sounds wonderful,â she simply replied.
âYeah⌠You sure you're fine?" You asked, concerned. It had been some time since you last saw her, but she didn't use to ask this many questions.Â
âYou have nothing to worry about, y/n. I promise," she nodded.
"Okay⌠Do you plan on staying?"Â
"Would you like me to stay?"Â
"I'm asking so I know how much food I should make, you don't have to stay."
"If you want me to stay I'll stay," she stated.
You blinked in surprise, not expecting that. "Uh, yeah, I would love that," you smiled. "That would be great."Â
She nodded once again, this time with a smile plastered on her face. She thought about staying there, in your little house by the sea.Â
Things would be so easy if she just had one more chance with you.
But she had Zuko and his friends on her heels, and it was better to leave you out of Fire Nation problems. One last dinner with you, that was all she needed.
When you woke up next morning with the house silent you knew she was gone, and when you walked into the kitchen and saw the note you hoped she was safe.
A little âthank youâ was all you had, and it was all youâd need.

Your Philosophical Dance
Aries in the 9th House (Leo Rising)
Youâre all about chasing experiences when it comes to learning. Like, if it doesnât get your heart racing, you might lose interest pretty quickly. One minute you're diving into a wild philosophy course, and the next, you're off on a spontaneous trip to explore something completely new. You thrive on hands-on adventures, so seek out opportunities that let you learn through real-life experiences. Just keep an eye on what really lights you up; thatâs where the magic happens.
Taurus in the 9th House (Virgo Rising)
You love your comfort zone, especially in learning. Thereâs something cozy about sticking to familiar topics, but sometimes it can hold you back from discovering something fresh. Itâs like binge-watching your favorite show on repeat instead of checking out that new series everyoneâs talking about. While you can really dive deep into what you love, itâs good to mix things up a bit. Every now and then, try stepping out of your bubbleâyou might find something that surprises you.
Gemini in the 9th House (Libra Rising)
Your mind is always buzzing with ideas, and while thatâs super fun, it can also get a bit chaotic. You jump from topic to topic like youâre flipping through a playlist, which is exciting but can leave you feeling scattered. You might start reading one book and then suddenly want to dive into another before finishing. It's cool to be curious, but maybe focus on a couple of things that really catch your interest. That way, you can really dive deep instead of skimming the surface.
Cancer in the 9th House (Scorpio Rising)
For you, learning is an emotional ride. You pull from your feelings and memories, which can give you some unique insights but might also make things feel a bit heavy sometimes. It's like your past experiences are nudging you while youâre trying to explore new ideas. Your emotional depth is a strength, especially in areas like spirituality or psychology. So, remember to balance those feelings with fresh perspectivesâit can lead to some truly enlightening moments.
Leo in the 9th House (Sagittarius Rising)
Learning feels like a performance for you, and you love being in the spotlight. While you shine when you express yourself, you might find yourself getting caught up in topics that impress others instead of what genuinely excites you. Think of those times you debated a theory just to show off your knowledge instead of really engaging with it. Tap into that charisma and focus on what youâre passionate aboutâitâll make your educational journey way more fulfilling.
Virgo in the 9th House (Capricorn Rising)
You take a super analytical approach to learning, which can be both a blessing and a bit of a drag. You get so into the details that it sometimes feels more like work than fun. Picture yourself knee-deep in textbooks, stressing over every little fact instead of enjoying the ride. Your knack for digging deep can lead to some awesome discoveries, but donât forget to find the joy in it, too. A little creativity can go a long way in making learning feel more exciting.
Libra in the 9th House (Aquarius Rising)
Youâre all about balance, but that can make it tricky to figure out your own beliefs. You might find yourself swaying with the opinions of those around you, which can leave you feeling a bit lost. Itâs like being in a conversation and just agreeing instead of sharing your own thoughts. But your quest for harmony opens you up to a ton of ideas that can really enrich your understanding. Embracing your own voice while staying open to others can lead to some amazing insights.
Scorpio in the 9th House (Pisces Rising)
You dive deep into lifeâs big questions, and that intensity can bring you some profound insights. But, honestly, it can feel a bit heavy at times, like youâre carrying a lot on your shoulders. You often explore complex ideas that make you rethink everything, which is awesome but can be a lot to handle. Leaning into that emotional depth can lead you to amazing revelations. Just remember to take breaks when neededâsometimes, stepping back helps put everything in perspective.
Sagittarius in the 9th House (Aries Rising)
Learning for you is all about freedom and exploration. You thrive on new experiences, but that can sometimes make it tough to stick to one topic. Itâs like youâre always on the lookout for the next adventure, ready to discover something new. While your enthusiasm is infectious, try to find a balance between your desire to explore and the need to dive deep into what you love. That sweet spot between adventure and focus can lead to some really rewarding experiences.
Capricorn in the 9th House (Taurus Rising)
You take education seriously, often treating it like a job to get done. While your ambition is impressive, it can sometimes drain the fun out of learning. You might focus so hard on reaching your goals that you forget to enjoy the journey. Think of it like ticking off items on a checklist instead of savoring each experience. Remember, education should inspire you, so allow yourself some freedom to exploreâyou might just uncover something that truly captivates you.
Aquarius in the 9th House (Gemini Rising)
Youâre all about challenging the norm, which can lead to some pretty exciting educational paths. While itâs awesome to embrace the unconventional, donât completely dismiss traditional ways of learning. You might find yourself gravitating toward unique subjects that spark your curiosity, but thereâs value in the classics, too. Think about how blending old wisdom with your own fresh perspective can create something special. Keeping an open mind will enrich your learning journey.
Pisces in the 9th House (Cancer Rising)
You often drift into your daydreams when it comes to learning, which can be both a gift and a challenge. Escaping into your imagination is super tempting, but it might pull you away from practical knowledge. Itâs like floating on clouds instead of focusing on whatâs right in front of you. Your intuition can guide you to incredible insights, so finding a balance between your dreamy thoughts and grounded research can help you navigate both worlds smoothly.

A Joint Message With @polyamorouspunk
Dear Punks,
We are gathered here today⌠again⌠to talk about a shared view of the punk culture specifically in the tumblr bubble that we share between ourselves and also with so many of you.
To be frank, we get a lot of asks, which is a joy for both of us, and we love answering your questions with our opinions, otherâs opinions, bouncing things off each other and our other mutuals, and directing you to anything that you might find helpful in your inquires. However, as we have stated in our other, previous letter, from which this was literally copy-pasted word-for-word verbatim, we are not, nor do we believe that there is a âperfectâ punk.
Every punk is going to have different opinions. Someone else having different opinions than you, than us, than each other, doesnât make them a âbad personâ. It doesnât make them ânot punkâ. And honestly, sometimes it feels like people worry that if they DO have different opinions that go against the masses, they will be crucified, which⌠yeah, honestly, is true, you will be. Thereâs going to be opinions from us you probably wouldnât like, because they donât âgo with the massesâ, but⌠isnât the point of punk culture to think critically for yourself instead of just emptily echoing the words of others to voice a shared and yet unattainable promise of some sort of utopia?Â
At the core of punk both on and offline is forming your own opinions based on critical thinking, learning from others, and learning from your own life experiences. And more so recently than in the past, it feels like these things are being forgotten and left behind. To be quite frank, itâs tiring to see people grab onto a belief or way of thinking without fully understanding it, why they believe it, and especially not taking time to consider why the otherside of an argument may have some validity to it. And sure, to a degree, this is expected on the internet. But currently, our online scene seems to be full of people who are ready to jump at each other and anyone who dares to share an opinion that isnât the popular one. And to a further extent, people seem to have forgotten that gray areas exist, and most issues are not a black and white matter.
This, among other things, has led to some feelings of inauthenticity, burnout, hesitation, frustration, lack of interest in engaging with the community as we once did, etc. But there are many, many other factors as well offline in our personal lives.
Key is working as a chemist and a DJ while balancing a personal life, a relationship, helping her family, and exploring new hobbies. While also trying to navigate buying a house. So she doesnât devote as much time as she used to to Tumblr at the moment.
Punk is raising a kitten, trying to work on their mental health, and working a lot more hours than they normally would, leaving them with not as much time as they would previously spend on tumblr making content.
Another thing that we are both dealing with is trying to live up to the expectations put on us. Honestly, the closest Punk came to acting like they expect people on here see them led to them being really unhappy, and they had to take a step back from IDing with âPunkâ at all, as it was becoming unhealthy.
For Key, she has always tried to make it a point that there is so much more to her than just being a punk, but when running a punk blog, people tend to expect you to fall into a specific set of likes and dislikes that really donât align with her as a person. This is part of the reason she has taken some time off focusing on her punk blog, to instead work on embracing some other parts of herself.
In conclusion,
We wanted to point out and acknowledge why we may seem not as active at the moment, while also addressing something that we both see as a major issue in our shared online space. While we take the time we need to refresh, recover, and work on ourselves, we ask that you all do the same. Take time to really think about what you believe and why. Consider other points of view, and not just if they are right or wrong. See if you can figure out why people believe something different from you. But most importantly, remember to stay true to who you are and donât allow yourself to be another cog in a machine.

Friends of ours lost their 22yo son to suicide recently. He was struggling, but kept the depth of it hidden. There are no words of comfort to give, only grieving alongside those who have lost one that they love.
A good friend pointed out that in the midst of this weeping, while it does not diminish the grief, perhaps something good might come out in that those who are similarly struggling with thoughts of suicide might get some perspective that their lives matter beyond the tiny world mental illness traps you in. Your life matters and is worth living.
Our brains are a precariously balanced mix of meat, electricity, and chemicals. Sometimes because of our experiences and/or biology our brains begin to lie to us. It withholds joy and pleasure. "Itâs like trying to laugh at a joke that isnât funny. Trying to smile for a photo you donât want to be in. Itâs like waking up in the morning and hating that you actually woke up. It feels like someone is just draining the energy out of you all the time, every moment you are awake." Doing anything requires immense willpower. Just plain old staying alive becomes a conscious choice made over and over again. You are just so tired and everything is just too much to deal with. The constant state of suffering leads one to try various ways to feel something positive, feel anything, or just escape the emptiness. It's why depressed people try so hard to bring joy to others and help others- they want to prevent others from suffering too and it allows them to feel some happiness vicariously.
The inevitable diminishing returns on the attempts to feel better, feel anything, or just escape eventually lead to the conclusion that there is only one way out of this hell. And depression shrinks our awareness of our own meaningfulness and inner world. The void is all we can perceive. The knowledge that we are loved, cared for, or important is lost. We can sincerely believe that our loss will not so drastically affect our loved ones and escape through death is a viable option.
These are all false of course. Falsehoods our sick brain tells us with honesty, because suicide is quite reasonable given what we are perceiving.
If you are feeling like you don't want to be here, wishing you would not wake up, desiring an accident, imagining about killing yourself, drugging yourself into oblivion, or seriously thinking about if or how you might kill yourself, you need to talk to someone. I got lucky. Someone who loves me more than I love myself saw me spiraling into self-destruction and made me get help and continues to support me in spite of myself. I spent years where my full-time job was not research or teaching, but just keeping myself alive. It's still my job now and then. But the difference now is that after many years of therapy and prescriptions I know that feeling is temporary and false.
I'm sorry it hurts so much right now. When you have some distance from these feelings (I hope that you will give yourself the chance to), I hope you can see that your life is worthwhile and important because you are.
But the only way out is through and that requires talking. I hope you have people nearby who love you you can talk to. If you do, talk to them. If you don't, this will be harder. Either way, you should also get into counseling. A good counselor will help you find ways to survive, build better mental pathways, & develop tools for processing emotions.
Brutal honesty- American mental health treatment system is shit and difficult to navigate. We have far too few professionals in many areas and online is often the only option. But you are a fighter. Look at you all alive and shit when depression has been trying to kill you 24-7. Live a little bit longer. You can do it. And if you are going to live a little bit longer, counseling can help you live it a little bit better.

Klonoa 2: Lunatea's VeilâPrestige Mascot Platforming
*Played in July 2022, Written in November 2022, Mild Spoilers immediately
Your goal is the peak of the floating ruins. It's the penultimate level. You're coming off of a bombastic set piece level where you overcame a gauntlet of trials to gain entry to the final area of the game. But the momentum stops. You are soothed by the atmosphere and pacified by the incoming music.
A somber, yet inspiring tune plays. It's a song that entices reflection. It feels nostalgic even though it's the first you've heard of it. You listen closely to the tune as you scale upwards towards the precipice. The melody is strong, but there's an attempt to snuff it out. The wind blows powerfully to disrupt the audio. The volume of the song is drowned out and muffled by the unceasing zephyrs of the fortress.
Reminiscent sound clips appear and try to take their claim as the main event of the piece. These clips aren't just from this game, but the first one as well. They are memories of your adventures. The ones you remember fondly and ones you'd rather not think about right now. These memories stay with you, but none the less, they are still just memories. They had their time. This is NOT their song.
What's past has passed. The melody returns to full volume. It progresses forward. YOU progress forward.
It doesn't matter how hard the wind blows and how invasive the whispers of the past get, the melody always returns. Because it's not done. Because YOU aren't done.
You ascend, tasked with trials that are more difficult than anything you've faced before. They seem daunting, but you are prepared for them. If you weren't, you wouldn't have made it here in the first place.
Every success. Every failure. Every lesson you remember. Every bad habit you forgot. They've all trained you to be the person you are today.
You've gain peace of mind through embracing tranquility. Nothing gets to you like it used to. Your rage has been tamed and it takes a lot more to knock you off balance.
You've turned your joy of life into a thriving passion. It's not just about the destination for you, but living in the moment and finding satisfaction in every aspect of the journey.
You've attained observation through discourse. Every enemy you've faced you've learned from and gained an understanding of how their aggression can work for you.
Your indecision has been forged into an armor of caution. No longer are you a victim of reckless instinct and every decision you end up making you know is the correct one.
You've felt great sorrow. Sorrow you may never recover from. But that sorrow has only strengthened your resolve. You know that it will get better and so you strive towards that place in time where it does.
So you attempt the challenges. You probably fail them the first time through. But that's more than okay. You try again.
You fall into endless chasms.
You are burnt by cerulean hot flames.
You are maimed by a myriad of foes.
You fail as many times as you need to. But you persevere. The winds may roar, but you keep your footing. You move forward. You aren't done yet.
But, Why? Why don't you give in? Why not just accept that this is how things are and this is as far as you can go? It's just a game, right? Well.
Maybe there's spite to drive you.
Maybe you're running from something and want to keep running.
Maybe you think this will make you stronger.
Maybe you're just bored.
Curiosity?
Pride?
Closure?
There could be any number of motivating factors behind why your are doing this, but they all converge to one common point: This reason, has led to you making a decision.
Klonoa is not a character with deep motivations. At least not in this game. There is no wholesome backstory connecting him to the land of Lunatea. He has no family or friends to protect. He has no complex ideals he desires to espouse. Heâs just⌠some guy, who wants to finish his adventure. Itâs just a dream. None of this matters in the grand scheme of things. Tomorrow heâll visit some other dream and go on a different journey. He could mail it in and suffer no consequence. But he doesnât. He wants to see things through. Real or fake, he wants to help the people he met in this world. He knows heâll probably never come back to this place ever again, but he still fights for a happy ending. Just because this is something he decided to do. Resolve is resolve, no matter where itâs derived from.
And just like Klonoa, this hard as nails level is something you decided to surmount and you don't owe any explanation further than that. Not to anyone else. Maybe not even to yourself. So you're going to follow through. That resolve will not go to waste. You know you can do it. You know that even if it seems hopeless and not worth it at some points, you will overcome. You will reach that peak. Simply because you decided you would.
While we're on the topic of peaks, lemme tell you how fucking sick the rest of this game is.
Peerless level design. Beautiful visuals. Thrilling set pieces. Snowboarding. A story for a platformer that actually connected with me. Klonoa fashion glow up. Perfect platforming and puzzle balance. Raw as hell boss fights. Klonoa 2: Lunateaâs Veil owns. It's a sequel to Door to Phantomile like how Empire of Dreams is a sequel to Moonlight Museum. But there are a few things Moonlight Museum did better than Empire of Dreams, while this is just a substantial vertical upgrade to a game that was already good. More levels, more ideas, more mechanics and still pretty lean. You can view having to revisit levels as some form of padding, but honestly they are remixed so well and shake up the formula enough to the point they feel like new challenges.
This game really made me appreciate how fucking brilliant Klonoa's move set is. It's extremely simple, but you can accomplish a wild amount of things with just the two buttons youâre given. And the complexity of what you can do depends on the enemy placement. You see games like Kirby and Mario Odyssey where your move set is dependent on the enemies you encounter. But what you have to do with that move set is never taken full advantage of. In Kirby's case because power ups are optional; In Mario's case because it having all its power ups being used as effectively as possible is unfeasible given the amount there are. In Klonoa 2, using your enemiesâ abilities is vital and the mechanics are always pushed to the ceiling of skill and problem solving. You always have to be aware of which foes are around you and how you can use them, not just when you are prompted to do so. It's very mindful level design. Because each enemy is a problem solving tool it makes it so the enemy placement always has a purpose and is always fair.
When I found out that they halved your hit points from the first game, I thought this was either going to kick my ass or be piss easy. It ended up being just as hard, but more efficient than Door to Phantomile. In Klonoa 1 you were really only in danger if you got comboâd by a ton of hits or fell off. And even when you died you still had a surplus of lives that the game hands out to you like candy. Now look, I hate lives. I have not been shy about this in the past. But I do like items that you need to get through skill and problem solving. Klonoa 2 gives health and lives more value by making lives rarer and health easier to lose. While maybe not as valuable as gems and fragments, these survival collectibles are worth figuring out how to get and gives the level design more layers. And the game is really just trying to nudge you in the direction to try and collect lives. Itâs not trying to be a dick. Klonoa 2 will literally just spawn a life after you die twice in a row. It even rewards you with 3 lives if you fuck up a section enough times and then get to the end of it with no lives left. It uses the illusion of an imminent game over in order to trick you into being a responsible gamer. I would still prefer another type of in-level item that aids you. But this is the most I've respected a life system on a console game.
My only real issue with this game is depth perception at some points. It's not a big deal, but it elicits powerful retroactive bitterness. Why did this entire franchise skip the 3DS? It's built exactly for a system like that. It is perhaps the one sidescroller I would actually use 3D for. Kirby came close, but depth was only required at certain points. Klonoa just makes sense in stereoscopic 3D. I'm so pissed. After beating this game I couldn't help but imagine the scenario in which they kept making these games. Klonoa has such potential and deserves as much love as the other Scrimblo Bimblos. It certainly has a better track record than the rest.
Allow me to codify this real quick, because this is a nonsense term Iâve been using that requires context. A Scrimblo Bimblo is soft pejorative used to refer to the cartoon mascots that showed up in the 90âs and early 2000âs and any character who might carry that same type of energy. Iâm talking about your Sonic the Hedgehogs, your Crash Bandicoots, your Aero the Acro-bats, your Ty the Tasmanian Tigers, your Jazz Jack Rabbits, your Izzy the Iguanas, your Glovers, your KAO the Kangaroos, your Bubsy the Bobcats. Characters you may have never even heard of, but you can picture them in your brain and be 60% accurate as to what they look like. It was an over saturated market for a time and few have survived to this day. Klonoa is a fun cartoon mascot platformer, but he ends up being more memorable than the others by having quality stand out games and not giving away the character design in the name. Seriously, I think heâs supposed to be a cat, but Iâm still not convinced.
I'd rather play the first 5 years of Klonoa games than the first 5 years of any other platformer franchise. After playing Sonic Origins I can confidently say I wouldnât be upset with a timeline where Sonic and Klonoa switched places and we got dozens of Klonoa games and no Sonic games after 1996. Klonoa is like...if Sonic was consistent. Not game play wise of course, but just being an incredibly appealing character design with a fun concept and a unique flavor of edge. There are only a handful of great Sonic and Klonoa games. But those handful of great Klonoa games are basically all of them. When it comes to itâs platforming titles, the kid don't miss. Even Dream Champ Tournament, which had some stupid shit in it, is better than most platformers on the GBA honestly. I love Rayman 3(GBA), but I won't sit here and act like every handheld Klonoa game doesn't dab on it super hard. But I know that there is no way Klonoa could become a huge franchise. It has too much... integrity.
Going by the two main games, the intent seems to have each one be itâs own individual journey. You canât really build a franchise off that. You need cast members and settings to stick around so people can get attached. The only constant Klonoa has is Klonoa himself. Sure this leads to fresh ideas for main entries, but it also leads to less iconography being developed for the series. Familiarity is marketable. Look at PokĂŠmon for instance. Itâs THE franchise, and when it made a left turn and abandoned all itâs iconography in Gen 5, people were not receptive to it at all initially (Unlike me who wasnât receptive to it for the correct reasons). Then immediately afterwards it started to lean back into that familiarity and sales went back up. Klonoa canât really grow if it replants itself every game.
The side games (Moonlight Mansion, Empire of Dreams, Dream Champ Tournament) are a way around this where they seem to reuse characters all they want. But that also just makes the canon fairly murky and hard to follow. Itâs not clear how much these games impact the console games, so thereâs a lack of cohesion you might expect. Also, Klonoa regularly reuniting with his friends kind of defeats the conceit of the franchise. They can only pop up so many times before they become thematically inconsistent or contrived. I like Huepow, but every appearance he makes, dampens the ending of Door to Phantomile. And even worse than the spin off platformers is The Legendary Star Medal, which just feels like a dev team didnât know anything about Klonoa and made a top down action game about him. These Spin-offs are something they could have theoretically kept doing, but they admittedly sully the main games a bit by existing. Each game contributing to the mythos while also being self contained is definitely ideal and the direction youâd expect it to go. But instead of doing that or making more side games, they just sort of stopped making them. And I wonder if itâs just because of a lack of interest. Maybe no one has any ideas to top Klonoa 2 so they just didnât try. Or they just didnât have funding after their rush to create a franchise didnât yield immediate results. Iâm just gonna assume itâs the latter.
Back when the Reverie collection was announced, I made a post on Twitter referring to Klonoa as âThe one true Scrimbloâ. I hastily drew Klonoa in the style of early 2000âs Yuji Uekawa and made that my profile picture for half a year. At this point I had only completed Klonoa 1 and didnât even like it that much. It was a raw display of fraudulence and I had no clue what I was talking about. I just wanted to like Klonoa. I got swept up in the hype.
Yet. I ended up being correct about that. He really is the best one. Sonic will always be my favorite platforming mascot of course, but Iâve played enough horrid Sonic games to know that he may not be the most appealing representative of the sub genreâs quality. Though now Sonic is currently on an upswing. Every aspect of the franchise is doing relatively well. If there was a time for Scrimblos to reclaim some of their former power, it would be now. Things were looking pretty dire for a bit. Spyro and Crash are resting under the heel of Activision. Rayman has been devoured by the Rabbids. Sly Cooper is gripping the edge of that cliff. Everyone else from the 90âs is basically dead, aside from Bubsy, who we cannot allow to make another game under any circumstance. But now we have Sonic making decent games again, Kao the Kangaroo coming out of nowhere with a new installment, and the Ty games getting remastered for...some reason. And now Klonoa 2 is easily available for the first time 20 years. Weâre looking at a potential new age of wacky mascot platforming, and I consider that a good thing. It feels like itâs important to keep franchises like these in circulation. Would I even be as big into gaming if didnât latch on to Scrimblos as a kid? Iâm not sure. But what I am sure of is that I would have loved Klonoa if he didnât evaporate instantly before I ever heard of him. So I want to be there when an actually new Klonoa game comes out so I can shamelessly shill it with everything I got. I eagerly await the rightful king of silly animal flagships to return to the kingdom and claim his seat on the throne.

Wheel of the year: Litha.

â˝đŽâžđŻđđđ¸â¨đđđ§żđ⊠đŞđ
Litha. Midsummer. San JuĂĄn. Summer solstice. Every culture has a different denomination for this festivity, which is just as popular in countries of celtic or pagan tradition as in those that are christian. This festivity celebrates the solstice of Summer, the beginning of this season and it marks the longest day of the year. In the Northern hemisphere it is originally celebrated around the 20th to the 21st of June, but in some countries the celebrations are stretched just until the 26th. In the southern hemisphere, Litha happens around the 20th to 21st of December.
Litha comes right after Beltane and before Lammas.Supposedly, this festival is more closely tied to Anglosaxon traditions than to celtic or pagan religions, and it is therefore not really linked to any deities. The name of this festival supposedly comes from the old Anglosaxon name for June, albeit some historians believe it might come from old Anglosazon words for "summer", "gentle" or "navigable". It is unclear where this festival started, but what it celebrated and its associations are clear and evident.
Litha celebrates the first of Summer, the heat of the Sun at its peak, and the season where Spring dies down to bring forth a full, lush summer. Flowers begin to die down leaving their place to fruit, baby animals are now in their infancy, the weather is hot and nature is bountiful.
Litha is a celebration of life and abundance in every sense of the word. It is a time for joy and celebration, and for letting go of inhibitions. This is a good time to manifest abundance and wealth into your life. As it is to be expected Litha is also closely tied with elements such as the Sun and fire, as well as with certain tradititions related to abundance or fertility. This is also a good moment to rejoice in the joy of life, to reflect on the abundance and blessings that the Gods have cast upon us and to share love and abundance with your loved ones. Litha is a moment of excess, no holding back here: celebrate, feast and love to your heart's content! While this festivity is not closely associated with any deity in particular, it is fitting to celebrate those related to sensuality, sexuality, abundance or fertility here. Both very feminine and very masculine Gods are in honour here, as well as those relating to the Sun. In Wicca, this is the moment where the Maiden aspect of the Goddess becomes the mother, while for Romans the Gods to honour were Juno (goddess of motherhood and the household) or Apollo (God of the Sun). Other good deities to worshio might be Lugh, Sunna, Horus, Hestia, Minerva... as well as any God or Goddess related to masculine or feminine energy! Likewise, this festival honours lush, virile or yonic imagery as well. Sensual images would not be out of place for Litha, but anything vigorous works as well: the most common association is the sun, but fires and candles are also important. So are certain types of flowers (particularly those yellow or orange, said to mirror the sun's exhuberance), certain types of trees (the oak tree in particular), water (as a balancing force for the sun and the other element required to enliven nature)... and, of course, this festival has strong ties to the Fae Folk. There are plenty of traditions associated with Midsummer, all of them heavily dependant in the area where you live. In Spain the most common tradition is "las hogueras de San JuĂĄn", where people barbecue, lit fires and enjoy a wonderful time partaking in different traditions with their families (in the north of Spain, you must jump over the fire 7 times to make a wish, while in the south you must find certain flowers, soak them in well water and wash yourself with it 1st thing in the morning to stay young). In Sweden, they dance around a Maypole, drink schnapps and eat pickled herring with potatoes. In some areas of the UK, they sing and dance while waiting for the sunrise.
Of course not all of this traditions will be celebrated in your country: it's possible that they don't celebrate any at all! In any case, no matter if you are a solitary practicioner, part of a community, in the broom closet or out of it there are numerous traditions that you can partake in to celebrate Litha! -Feast: Like with most festivals, Litha is a good time to feast. However, Litha is particularly suited to it as it is a festival that celebrates wealth and abundance. Don't hold back today, and make sure to share with your community, the loved ones or the less fortunate. A barbeque on top of a fire would be a good option, but so would a picnic close to a nearby body of water. Read more for some foods that are particularly suited to a Litha festival. -Dance: Dance is not only associated to celebration, happiness and merrymaking but it is also associated with sensuality and fertility. Many midsummer traditions around the world include dancing, so this would be a good time to let loose and enjoy all your body has to offer. Make sure to pay attention to how your body feels, and how the music makes you feel for an extra-sensual experience! -Light a bonfire: Bonfires remind us of the power and strenght of the sun, and are often used to honour it. A lot of midsummer traditions include bonfires, lighting them, sitting by them, or jumping over and dancing around them. If in your country they light bonfires, find a local one and join the festivities; but you are welcome to make one in your backyard as long as it is allowed and you follow all the regulations required in your country. -Light candles: No luck with bonfires? Not a problem. Candles are a good, simple and discrete option if you cannot have a full-on fire. Consecrated or not, particularly fitting candles would be white, red, orange or yellow.
-Honour the sun: A good way to enjoy Litha would be to watch the sunrise or the sunset, and to truly appreciate all the beauty and good that the sun offers us. The sun is such an important force in our lives, dictating the rythm of nature, keeping us warm, feeding the plants... Enjoy a moment of sun and meditate on just how much it offers us. -Go be by the waterside: A counter force to the sun, water is also celebrated during Litha. Water is another important source of life, vigour and vitality and required to keep our crops healthy and alive just as much as the sun. If possible, spend your Litha next to the sea, a river, a lake or even a well. -Enjoy freshness: Litha is a time where plenty of fruits, berries, flowers and herbs mature and are at their most fragant and tasty. It would be particularly fitting to enjoy foods including this ingredients, or to enjoy them as is. Going out to pick some of this ingredients is also an excellent idea. -Decorate your altar: Just like with any other festival, decking your altar in the colours of Litha is a good option.Decorate by using colours, stones, flowers, herbs or anything associated to the festival. Consecrate it to any deities that relate to this festivity of you want. This are only some of the options that you have to enjoy this festival, but of course there are much more. Explore, enjoy yourself and let loose! Colours associated with Litha: White, red, orange, yellow, purple, gold Crystals associated with Litha: Amber, tiger's eye, jade, onyx, cinnabar, fire opal Food associated with Litha: Meat, fish, honey, fresh berries and herbs, seasonal fruit, honey, bread

I missed your posts, Sasha. I follow this blog for all three of you, even though I understand that you were sick and that you don't like social media that much. I'm glad that you're posting again. What's your workout routine?
Hey, thank you for sending this. It means a lot to know someone's interested in seeing my posts. Marcy always says good things about you, so it's good to know you live up to that.
I don't want to share my exact routine since I've been training strength for about ten years and doing different sports for most of my life, so I don't want anyone trying to push themselves to do what I do. It's important to slowly work up to more intense activity or you could seriously injure yourself. Working out also involves a lot more than just being at the gym. It's about building healthy habits for all areas of your life including eating and sleeping. When you do more physical activity, your body should begin to crave these positive changes naturally but it's important to stay on top of things.
This is a rough overview of what I do in a day with some advice for how to train if you want to build strength.
I train for around an hour and a half almost every day before I go into work. I'll eat something small in the early morning like a protein bar or shake before going to the gym with a more substantial breakfast afterwards that could include eggs, yogurt, beans, vegetables, etc.
It's important to train different muscle groups each day so I rotate between leg, arm, core, back, and full body workouts. I recommend looking up beginner exercises if you're just starting out. You don't want to immediately jump into heavy deadlifts just because it looks impressive. If you don't have a training partner or coach, you should also look up what the proper form and technique looks like for each exercise you do. YouTube videos are the most helpful to get a visual representation.
These are a few exercises that I do for each area: Legs: Deadlifts, squats, leg extensions, leg presses Arms: Pushups, chin-ups, bicep curls, front raises Core: Planks, crunches, Russian twists, in and outs, bridges Back: Lateral pulldowns, rows, pull-ups
You want to find the number of sets and reps that work best for your body for each exercise and make sure to rest both between sets and between different exercises. A rep is one action, like a bicep curl. A set is the number of those that you do in a row. For example, if you were doing 3 sets of 10 reps of an exercise, you'd do 10 exercises in a row, rest for about 3 minutes, then repeat that twice more. You should feel like you're pushing yourself slightly past what's comfortable. Adequate rest is crucial because otherwise you'll start to tire yourself out and risk doing exercises improperly which can lead to injury.
After working out, I listen to my body throughout the day and eat when I'm hungry, focusing on protein-rich and healthy foods. If I'm craving something sweet, for example, I'll usually reach for Greek yogurt over a cookie. I find that I crave unhealthy foods less than I used to but there's nothing wrong with treating yourself occasionally. Depriving yourself of things that bring you joy can really damage your psyche and make you less motivated. I hate when people use the word âcheat dayâ for eating foods they enjoy. There is no cheating in balancing your diet.
If I'm feeling very fired up or stressed, I might go to the gym after work for a half hour or so to do some cardio work. Anne usually cooks dinner and she helps with including lean meats, fish, beans, whole grains and rice, and plenty of vegetables as much as possible. I sleep from about 9:30 PM to 5:30 AM to wake up feeling refreshed and ready for another day.
Since I'm very experienced, I work out five days a week, but if you're new to strength training I recommend starting with three days a week and working your way up to four. Taking rest days is extremely important. I take mine on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I might do some light exercise on those days like playing tennis or racquetball with Anne, but I also take those days to actually rest and recover. It might seem like training every day will make you stronger, but your muscles actually strengthen more during rest days. It sounds disgusting, but strength training creates small tears in the muscles you're working. Resting allows those tears to repair themselves and that's how your muscles grow stronger and increase in size.
I also recommend mixing in exercise that you personally enjoy doing. Training is repetitive by nature and it can get boring. Some days, I don't go to the gym at all. I've gotten into surfing, and I practice sword fighting with Anne even though it's an impractical skill here. This kind of exercise lets me see the rewards of my training and it's also just fun for me.
Even if you were just asking for curiosity's sake, I hope this advice is helpful. Taking even a small first step towards better fitness can make a huge difference for your quality of life in all areas. I'd be happy to talk about this more anytime.
-Sasha

A few months ago I would've reblogged this with no addition, maybe left a #felt or #mood in the tags, but in the meantime I've had my meds switched out.
The thing I was on before was great at making me not suicidal, I was on it for like seven years, I would have told you I loved it. The first sign that it had stopped working?
Was not being slightly dissociated literally all the time. Which was leaps and bounds a better place to be than miserable, but I had straight up believed real wonder and awe were something I had simply grown out of. I did not think I was capable of those emotions anymore, the kind that lets you stare at a grasshopper and go, "fuck, this EXISTS, look at it!" The mindful kind. If anything, I thought those were emotions reserved for people not living in a world falling to pieces around them, people who had real-life friends and partners and job satisfaction, people who made it to the gym and took walks and ate well-rounded meals.
My meds stopped working and I got back highs and lows, both, I got back wonder and awe and feeling alive and I got back lying in bed using all of my strength not to hurt myself. A whole range of emotions I thought I didn't have anymore.
The first thing they tried me on muted the highs and lows again, but it did nothing for my executive function, and I straight up told my psychiatrist, the amount of sugar I'm having to eat to get myself to do anything is not sustainable. Honestly I could probably handle the bad days if I could function on the in-between days, but I can't make dinner or take a shower or get through a workday without eating handfuls of chocolate, even if my mood feels fine. And I pointed out to my psych: My old medication was a dopamine/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. So she switched me to something with epinephrine in it.
Y'all, someday is now.
Someday I'll read this book, someday I'll paint that picture, someday I'll start job hunting, someday I'll schedule an eye doctor appointment--it's now. I'm doing it. I can do it.
I read a YA novel in one sitting. I haven't pulled that shit since high school. I can do more than one thing in a day now. I've scheduled like four things, done the household chores before they started gaining sentience, tried to visit the cobbler and an art exhibit, gotten my mother's Christmas gift, refilled my meds, made serious progress on three pieces of art, applied for several jobs, read that book, planned my Halloween costume, and voted within, like, the last week.
Because, now? I can decide to do a thing and just do it. There's minimal arguing with myself. It doesn't take effort to move from the "fine I'll do it" stage to actually doing it.
I keep cycling through a couple repeating thoughts. "Is this what it's like to be neurotypical?" "It was never supposed to be this hard?" "I've actually been disabled for my entire adult life, in the legal sense of significantly impairing my ability to do things in several areas of my life and not just the 'mental illness counts' sense?"
And also, "Every time I thought, 'Is this really all there is?' the answer was no?"
It's not perfect. Brain still requires more rest than I want it to. Couldn't leave the house today, or spend the daytime working on art or applications, but I took a shower and did the laundry, including the ironing, and that's more than I usually get out of days like this.
(And you know what, it's a lot easier to get exercise or eat balanced meals or clean your shower before it molds or do activism if you don't have to fight yourself about it for hours. It's like the opposite of a negative spiral. It's easier to maintain friendships and develop new ones and consider career paths and find things that give you joy and purpose.)
You know how we're always telling suicidal teens that they don't know what their life is going to be like yet, that they can't begin to imagine how different adulthood is going to be and the person they're going to become? I think we need to stop forgetting that this applies to every stage of life to some degree. Teenage Kieran had no idea what life was like, because they had only experienced a piece of it, but early 20s Kieran and late 20s Kieran also had no idea what life was like, and they would never have believed Kieran today existed. I can only assume that I still have no idea what life is like in my 30s and 40s and after. The idea that "you never know what the future might hold" has actual meaning to me now.
I don't want to imply that all of you just need to get on better meds, I know that's not the answer or even feasible for everyone. I just want people to know that it isn't a platitude when I say you never know what the future might hold. You might get to practically-30 and have the hopeless grind of a life that you can't look too far in the future of without depressing yourself suddenly look like an opportunity.
Also that "not actively suicidal" is a fine first goal for an antidepressant, but maybe don't stay on it for seven years without at least considering raising your standards.
Someday might come.
i thought my suicidal late teens were the hardest years of my life but nothing couldâve prepared me for my 20s waking up everyday with no purpose, feeling so lost, unable to keep up with friendships, watching everyone move on with relationships and careers and being unable to catch up. and Iâm such a âlife is not a raceâ type of person but damn Iâm losing so hard rn
#long post#yeah I could have put it under a cut but my target audience doesn't always have one more button click in them

In this article, we will take you on a journey of how meditation in Bali can help you find your true essence and why it is an experience that can leave a lasting imprint on your mind, body, and soul.
Why Bali Meditation?
Meditation in Bali is more than just a practiceâitâs a journey of self-discovery, healing, and spiritual growth. With its serene natural surroundings, Bali offers a sacred space where individuals can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and find a sense of clarity. Whether youâre a seasoned meditator or a complete beginner, Baliâs energy invites you to let go of distractions and deeply connect with the present moment.
The beauty of Bali lies not only in its picturesque landscapes but in the spiritual energy that permeates the island. Bali is known for its sacred temples, rich traditions, and deep connection to nature. This unique blend of spirituality and natural beauty creates the perfect environment for meditation. When you engage in Bali meditation, you are not just practicing a technique; you are aligning with the islandâs healing vibrations, which support a deeper sense of peace and personal clarity.
Meditation as a Foundation for Life
At H2O Yoga and Meditation Center, we view meditation as a foundation for personal growth. The benefits of meditation go beyond the time spent on the cushionâit impacts all aspects of life. Whether practiced physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually, meditation helps to create stability and strength during lifeâs challenges.
In Bali, where the pace of life is slower and the natural environment encourages mindfulness, meditation becomes a tool for grounding oneself in the present moment. Regular meditation practice can foster mental clarity, emotional balance, and physical relaxation. It also encourages personal awareness, helping individuals navigate lifeâs ups and downs with greater ease. Once you establish a regular meditation practice, the benefits ripple out into other areas of your life, improving your relationships, decision-making, and overall well-being.
Discovering the Right Meditation Practice
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to meditation. At H2O Yoga and Meditation Center, we understand that each individual has unique needs and preferences when it comes to meditation styles. This is why we offer a variety of meditation practices, allowing participants to explore different techniques and find the one that resonates most with them.
From mindfulness meditation to guided practices, loving-kindness (Metta), and silent meditation, our Bali meditation retreats provide participants with the opportunity to explore various approaches. Whether you are drawn to deep breathwork, visualization, or silent contemplation, there is a meditation style to suit every individual.
The ultimate goal of Bali meditation is to connect with the true nature of peace within. At H2O Yoga and Meditation Center, we focus on helping participants not only experience calm during meditation but also carry that peaceful energy into their daily lives. Meditation in Bali is about creating and maintaining a vibration of peace that extends beyond the practice, so you can live with greater joy and presence.
