I'm fascinated by the idea of magic being experienced differently by men and women.

It seems logical to me that magic would come more recognizably to women. Magic in the traditional sense is closely tied to spirituality. Some people even use the words interchangeably.

There's this worldwide phenomenon where women are the upholders of spirituality. Even in heavily patriarchal sects, women tend to be the ones who protect spiritual practices and traditions.

The Holy SPIRIT embodies most (if not all) of the feminine traits of the Trinity. Some religions, like the Cult of Mithra, are believed to have died out largely because they excluded women.

Since magic is tied to spirituality, and women usually have the most obvious spirituality, it just makes SENSE to me that magic would be more obvious in women.

But at the same time, I don't think magic should be "female."

Going back to spirituality, men tend to experience it differently than women. They also tend to express it differently

I'm digging into this idea in the Daindreth's Assassin series as both Amira and Thadred tap more of their power. 🤫

Daindreths Assasin Series -Daindreths Traitor- Live Review part 5

Amira and Thadred seem to becoming friends, which is lovely to watch develop.

Watching the matriarchy suggest keeping the two to, shall we say, increase the magically inclined population, is a bit amusing. I would snap the same way if someone told me that people were fighting to own me, and one of the people I knew a bit amongst them was requesting someone else permission to claim me as a sort of pity.

Oooh!!

Well ZARR (Zim and Ray Romance) is my current all time fave! I love the chemistry and even their color palettes compliment each other!

I also love THADR (Thix and Dib Romance.) An adorable dynamic of two broken souls falling in love!

I also think that Zachary’s onesided crush on Thix is very entertaining!

I’m also fond of Tak x Tenn and Floog x Theen!

Me : WHAAAAAT ?!?? What do you mean do I want a sword cane ?? OF COURSE I WANT A SWORD CANE !!!!!

My Mom : It's very expensive though

Me : Do you think I care about that ??? No price is too high for being SO BADASS !! I could talk for hours about wonderful fictional characters fighting with a sword cane !! Do you want me to write an essay about them and read it to you ?? Because I could totally do that !! I DO WANT A SWORD CANE !!! I'm immediately texting my friends to see if one of them is willing to break my leg irreversibly.

Daindreths Assasin Series -Daindreths Traitor- Live Review part 2

Amira has every right to be upset, and I'm all for love, but the cythraul are actually a real threat to the whole world. She really is the villain for putting the whole world at risk to save her husband? Fiance? Not actually sure they completed the wedding. My reason being: it had been, like, a week. No its not cool, but his death was something he wanted after everything- for his sacrifice to eliminate the Cythrauls connection to the world. He's a hero at heart. Because they are hero and villain, that's why they fall in love and why Amira is so fiercely loyal- she both loves and is loyal to him. Also, incredibly glad Thadred plays a larger part in this book. He's sassy and funny. Stopping here for the night- I will see you tomorrow!

Daindreths Assasin Series -Daindreths Outlaw- Live Review part 6

Daindreth is ever the optimist now. Unclear if simply rekindled hope or character development considering how willing to die he was in the first book. Also, not entirely convinced that Thadred isn't a creature that was spawned into being by a sorceress considering he doesn't know his dad and the witches know him by name.

Had a long day at work today, so kicking off the reading challenge a bit late. Thus, I will be reading the entire book in 3 hours while live reviewing it. Tension is high. I must admit, my husband is watching a show in the other room that's very amusing and keeps distracting me- oh. I suppose I should discuss the tension in the book rather than me living on the edge of deadlines. Amira, Thadred, and Daindreth make it back to Amiras homeland and barely manage to secure some horses before the city watch is upon them. They're running to the forest to talk to some very not cooperative people to get help with Daindreths curse. I'm not liking their odds.

I'm not liking mine either, but at least I believe in my ability to read quickly.

Oooof Daindreth and Amira had a minor spat where neither of them apologized. Thadred managed to smooth things over, but the frustrated tension between them is still there.

Do you have a favorite book dedication?📝

DAINDRETH'S TRAITOR is the first book I've given a dedication in years. 📚

I released book #1 in May 2021 fresh off a series of romantic disappointments and quite jaded about love in general. 💔(Not a good spot for a Romance author, I know.) I started dating Christian that following August and it was really weird. I often felt as if I wrote him into existence. ✍️✨

All the qualities I loved most about Daindreth are in Christian—the kindness, forgiving nature, the almost endless patience, intellectualism, and the way he takes care of the people and things he loves. 💞 Even a few of the same personalities and physical traits in his best friends were there.

Christian even proofed the first two DA audiobooks🎧 for me, but as fate would have it, his favorite character almost instantly became Thadred. ⚔️ Thadred has become a fan favorite as well and his name dominates my fanmail. There is something about the sarcastic knight that people just love.

Christian remains a steadfast Thadred fanboy, especially after I released book #2 a week before our wedding last April. 📖 So if anyone asks, my husband was the inspiration for Thadred. 😉 It will be our little secret. 🤫
