💧💖 for thaavia (for that oc ask game)
Prince, you always know just how to feed me. (Also so sorry for the delay, I got this right before the game with her started back up after a 6 week hiatus and then I forgot I had this.)
💧 DROPLET - random angst headcanon
Thaavia says she's got a bad case of wanderlust, which is... not exactly a lie, but it's less about Seeing Other Places and more about Not Staying Put, because in her line of work a paladin who stays in one place, particularly a healer paladin, starts building a Reputation, and with a Reputation comes Influence. And given some of the stuff in her history, she has a deep aversion to power and influence in her own hands because of how she might misuse it, what she was once willing to sacrifice to get it. She's afraid to put down roots because she's terrified of bearing that same kind of fruit and poisoning some poor motherfucker in the long run.
(This also lowkey extends to her personal relationships, her longest running romantic partner is an open relationship with someone she sees maybe four or five times a year because they're both off doing their own thing and can't settle down yet. And that's been the case for a decade. She probably won't know what do do with something that's going to be Permanent and going to be Right There when she finally gets it.)
💖 SPARKLING HEART - are they a subtle or a showy lover?
She's a very stoic woman at first glance (and very intentionally so, it's a carefully crafted facade/reputation) and if you don't bother to get to know her, she may come across as entirely cold. But if you pay attention and actually get to know her at all, it's... well it's not exactly flashy, rarely any big fancy gestures or anything like that. But it's not exactly subtle either, and it's constant. Little gifts, making sure her partner is eating well, helping them get ready in the morning just to have an excuse to put her hands on them, going from nicknames to pet names, considerably more touchy than she is with anyone else, that sort of thing.
Feel free to send me more emojis and ask me about some ocs!

💪 thaavia?
Ooh, excellent choice, prince.
💪 : What is your OC’s most physically attractive attribute?
That's a tough one, because while Woman Built Like A Bear Both In The Gay Way And In The Animal Way is not everyone's thing, for those who do like it, she's not a snack, she's a buffet.
But if I had to pick just one, it's probably a tie between her hair, hip-length salt and pepper with a meticulous care routine to keep it soft and pretty, naturally loose curls and waves even when she hasn't kept it braided all day.
OR her eyes. I've got a personal headcanon for dnd about Goliath physiology that as part of the adaptation to mountain tundra conditions, there's a natural lens over the eye that protects against snowblindness, and it comes in different colors like other races irises but obscures most of the eyeball, making it look like they have solid-colored, pupil-less eyes. But up close you can see it's structured just like anyone else's.
Anyways, yeah, between that sunlight-gold color, the absurdly long lashes, and her natural intensity not to mention the crow's feet that I can't capture in heroforge, her eyes are striking as hell and probably the prettiest thing about her.
Anyone else who feels like asking about my nerds, feel free to ask!

Yo, I need to know everything about these D&D guys immediately if not sooner, but I can't find much of anything in tags. I KNOW you have backstories, Logan. Lemme get at those sweet sweet little gay people in your head.
This ask has apparently been sitting here for two and a half months and I only just saw it. I feel a little bit like an ass, ngl.
Alright! So, I've got a bunch, but the main ones at the moment are Thaavia "Godbarter" Elanigo, aka Paladin Godbarter, her twin brother Aurmun "Hearthkeeper" Elanigo, aka Brother Hearthkeeper or Brother Aurmun. They're my current character and backup character/significant background NPC in a friend's homebrew setting, twin Goliath healers with the church of Vild, god of healing and purification. Both have their own complicated relationship with their beliefs and the people within the church, and are for the most part just focused on helping people however they can.
After that, the other significant NPC in this campaign who I also got to play during a battle royale session (actually more like 8 sessions, such is the nature of one-shots) is Thyris Griswold! He's a tiefling bard raised by halflings, told more often than not "yeah that explains a lot" when he explains that. Very much a candidate for the himbo hall of fame, and Thaavia's romantic partner of about 10 years (kinda, they do a lot of traveling in different directions and don't get as much time together as they'd like). They're utterly smitten with each other, but open to things if the other finds another partner while they're apart.
If you see me posting about another tiefling, that is actually de-luka's boy Lucy, and at the moment the character Thaavia (and likely Thyris) is romantic endgame with. Y'know. After a significant slowburn. We'll get there when we get there, right now we're at a very shaky friendship and a one-sided secret crush. Or at least secret to anyone who hasn't known him all his life, anyone who knows his type is gonna have that shit clocked from half a mile off.
After that, I've got Maya Acerbi, who's a character who jumps around a lot, and is currently being run as a Zabrak mechanic named Cutter Calish in a Star Wars Fantasy Flight game. Great system, I definitely recommend it. Cranky old woman with a lot of secrets that I'm not gonna get into because both other players follow me on tumblr and there's a lot in her background that I'm trying very hard to play close to the vest with, but I'd be happy to dm about.
And finally, there's Mhairi Eoghan, a strix inventor in the pathfinder Strength of Thousands game. Reworked from my old Arc*na oc when I was super into that mobile game 10000 years ago because they were great but the game and the devs were.............. not. Anyways, now they're an inventor with an exploding mechanical bird who's equal parts their bodyguard and personal watchdog, learning to adjust to being in a place where they don't really need to be that kind of guarded and hypervigilant against the people around them anymore. They're also a massive lesbian, which is cool.
#answers to questions y'all actually asked#la-mancha-screwjob#my ocs#if you'd like to go digging through the relevant tags then for the homebrew stuff there's#thaavia godbarter elanigo#aurmun hearthkeeper elanigo#thyris griswold#lucy and thaavia#i cast greater polycule#lucy#I should edit his tag#for star wars and for all her other stuff there's#maya acerbi#and for pathfinder and their old stuff that you really don't need to go digging to hard into#mhairi eoghan

For the dnd ask meme: 1, 3, 65, and 67 for thaavia! c:
Sure thing nonnie! Sorry for the delay!
1) What does she typically keep in her pockets? Aside from always keeping a wide-array of medicinal herbs necessary to her job as a paladin to the god of healing and purification, she's got an incurable sweet tooth and always has a supply of candied ginger. Of course, if you ask about it, she'll insist it's purely medicinal, good for upset stomachs and to keep up a healthy appetite or as a sensory anchor for someone on the brink of a panic attack, but she honestly just loves the stuff.
3) How does she carry herself around strangers? Friends? Lovers? Family? Stiff shoulders, closed off body language, permanent scowl on an already naturally scowly face. She's distant and cold with strangers, and only really warms up to her patients. Y'know, to a certain degree of warmth; chilly professionalism rather than frosty silence. She's got a reputation to maintain as a paladin you only come to when you absolutely need to. With friends, she relaxes significantly. Not super boisterous or cuddly unless they're good friends, but she'll laugh, smile, and crack jokes. Still very deadpan and stone-faced so it's easy to miss if you aren't paying attention, but if you earn yourself a nickname from her, you're golden. Lovers and family both see her genuinely relax and let her hair down (metaphorically and literally), see the full measure of her mischievous streak, and see that she's actually a very touchy, very cuddly person. (Frankly, bordering on touch starved given her aversion to strangers touching her and just how few people she trusts to get that close.)
65) Intimidation or adoration? Answered here!
67) Selflessness or Self-preservation? Selflessness, 100000%, very much verging on self-destruction. There's things in her past she feels she has to atone for, part of that is making sure those around her have the chance at a good, long life, and at redemption if necessary. Part of it is just punishing herself until she feels she's worthy of forgiveness. She's been at it for about 20 years.
Ask me some questions about my DnD ocs!

For the dnd oc asks: 32 and 65 for thaavia?
Absolutely, prince! (Also I gotta admire the milf seeking instinct, given that you immediately gravitated to the only one in the tags when I posted that ask. Well. Kinda. She's schrodinger's milf until the DM confirms whether or not her kid is canon to the game, but whatever.)
Anyways!
32) Does your character daydream? What do they usually keep their mind occupied with? She's not much of a daydreamer, it opens up the door to too much ruminating on the past and she's not inclined to linger there for long. When she can, she'll keep herself occupied with her medical journal and keeping her healing and herbalism kits organized, or flipping through the snippets of poetry, books, songs, and quotes she's got in the back half of her medical journal. When she can't, she'll pick an argument with a party member who knows she's not actually angry and won't back down from her when she's in A Mood or just bored and wants to trade barbs. For the moment that's exactly one other person and their relationship at the moment is.... complicated, but at least bickering with him is straightforward.
65) Adoration or Intimidation? Ooooh, you picked an excellent one here. She's got mixed feelings on both, but when push comes to shove, intimidation every time. She's made a point of building a reputation of being a joyless, ironclad bitch. A consummate professional when it comes to being a doctor and a paladin, but not someone you take for drinks after. Because either way, it's a matter of people making a snap judgement about her without having any idea who she is beyond their first impression of her, and the alternative is letting people build her up beyond what she really is. Whether that's a legendary paladin who single-handedly drove out a plague that threatened to eradicate a village, or the surprisingly gentle-handed giant who saved a person's life and stole their heart, Thaavia wants nothing to do with it. It's a lonely existence either way, but she'd rather be feared as a coldhearted brute and left alone than built into something she's not and punished for someone else's pedestal crumbling underneath her.
Ask me about my dnd ocs!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
Thank you so much to @saplingdraws for this lovely sketch of my girl Thaavia "Godbarter" Elanigo, watching one of her party membt get chokeslammed through a table with the same tired fond amusement one watches their cat get its head stuck in a tissue box for the third time in the last hour.
Y'all should go commission Allie, they're great and so damn talented, and as soon as I have a little more money to throw around, I'm getting another.
And a special thanks to @de-luka for the present, I swear I'll have my revenge for this ya nerd 💜💜💜💜💜

🖊+ that big woman from that thyris post
You. I like you, anon.
That's my girl Thaavia, the paladin I'm playing in a friend's homebrew dnd setting. Thaavia Elanigo, aka Paladin Godbarter. Thaavia to her friends, Godbarter or Paladin to everyone else.
She's not just big, she's massive. 38 years old, 8'3 and 506 pounds, frequently carrying upwards of 150-200 pounds of gear. She's also a healer with an intentionally awful bedside manner as far as attitude (plenty of folks who took her taking care of them with 16 charisma the wrong way and she's just trying to nip that whole mess in the bud) but otherwise very careful and very professional as far as actual care.
As far as paladins go, she's not actually super devout to her god; her oaths more boiled down to "I do good deeds in your name, you give me power to do them so I can help people, we both benefit." Thus the name Godbarter. The moment she's forced to choose between her deity and people, she's probably gonna get her ass labelled as a heretic, to the point that I actually made a homebrew paladin subclass because I just wasn't vibing with Oathbreaker. (Might include it under a cut cause I can't publish it on official dndbeyond since it uses spells that aren't in the base books)
I have about 100000 screenshots of minis I made of her, so let's see if I can pare it down to my favorites. (Side note, I've gotten pretty damn good at making expressive as hell minis in hero forge.)
She's got a twin brother that's she's fiercely protective of, even when he's being a pyromaniac pain in her ass.
If you've got any specific questions, hit me with them cause my brain is a little bit pudding this week, more so than usual.
Aaand as a bonus, have some hypothetical Hubris Paladin Thaavia
(also Vow, the wedding sword just recently presented to her by de-luka's boy Lucy)
#answers to questions y'all actually asked#hey nonnie nonnie#thaavia godbarter elanigo#guess who's going full stream of consciousness again#if anyone uses hubris paladin just credit me#and tell me how it goes i wanna know how balanced or effective it is#dnd oc

Tell me what your current favourite OC's do in their down time. Do they have hobbies? People they like to be with? Friends or partners?
Current favorite is probably my DnD oc Thaavia; a goliath paladin healer with abysmal bedside manner and a reputation for being cold, unpleasant, and overall fairly unlikable. And she puts that 16 charisma to work maintaining that reputation.
However, it's tricky maintaining that reputation when word gets out that she collects poetry. Specifically love poetry. She's a massive (literally, she's 8'3 and just over 300 lbs) hopeless romantic and loves her some romantic poems. Can't write them for the life of her, but will take what few moments of privacy she'll get poring over old scraps and snippets she likes and Yearning. (She's pretty good at reciting her favorites, too, although good luck getting her to without holding several members of the party hostage.) She is, however, incredibly picky about the ones she likes. The stuff about initial passionate infatuation is nice, but ultimately boring in the long run. The stuff about love as a choice, love as a home, love as solid ground to build something new, love as a new beginning rather than an end goal, that's the stuff that she turns mushy for.
I should talk to my DM about adding a couple of little personal items to her stuff, maybe an old worn journal that looks like it should be for her herbalism, but is actually just jam packed with snippets she's liked and scribbled down by hand because she didn't want to forget. It's a fun idea, that said, it would also require me going and looking for that kind of poetry.
