a/n- HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! I know its almost over, but college and work are a pain in the ass...hopefully I am able to post more this year, but I don't want to make any promises. Anyway me and my amazing friend @rewrittenreality here texting like a month ago about if the tgm dagger squad boys became dads, this is the result of that. I hope y'all enjoy.

Bob was over the moon when he found out you found out you were pregnant. He would surprise you with flowers and a gift for your baby. When he found out that you would be having a girl we went into full girl-dad mode. He found matching outfits for the three of you to all match with once the baby was born. 

The day your baby was born Bob couldn't stop smiling. The first time he held her, he looked like his life was complete. You walked in more times than you can count to him just staring at your daughter with all the love he had.

As she got older he learned how to do her hair in various styles, and would dress her so they could twin. When her favorite movie was the little mermaid he started calling her “Flounder” and it stuck. The dagger squad started calling her that too, leading to her being the first baby dagger squad member to get a callsign. 

On her first day of school Bob woke up extra early to make her her favorite breakfast, and get her a small bouquet. And when it was time to drop her off you could swear that Bob cried more than her. 

He would talk to your belly just like he did in your first pregnancy, which you swear is why she is a  daddy's girls. But you didn’t mind, you loved your husband any your daughter more than anything else.

When you found out you were pregnant, and that it was another girl, you couldn't wait for Bob to find out. He was on deployment when you learned of the second Floyd baby. When he got home he looked confused at your daughter's shirt. It read “big sister”. When it clicked he looked back and forth between her shirt and you before pulling you into a tight hug. When you told him it was another little girl he told you he was excited to be a girl dad again. So the matching outfits were updated to include another baby. And just like before, when your younger daughter’s favorite movie was Zootopia, he started calling her “Bunny”.

Bob was meant to be a girl dad. He made sure to raise them with all the love possible. He told you everyday that you were the best thing to happen to him, and that you made him the happiest man in the world.

what are your favorite either personal or fandom headcannons about Bob and Rhett?

I personally love the Bob is from Montana, or a Midwest state. And that he is from a bigger family.

This may have been the hardest question I've ever been asked 😭😂 I've had the worst time trying to narrow it down.

I don't think I've really talked about it a ton (I may have muttered about this somewhere in the details of honey?), but I love to headcanon that Bob enjoys anime and manga. If you held me at gunpoint and asked me to name one, it would be Trigun, but that's neither here nor there.

On a related note, I also think that he collects fandom figurines and trinkets and has found a way to tastefully weave them into his home decor. Weirdly, that also connects to my headcanon that he already knew Fanboy before the events of TGM took place. They're both fanboys; Bob just happens to be a lot quieter about it than Mickey is.

I've kinda sorta stolen this one from T, but Bob is a big eater. He can put away two plates of food in one sitting and still have room for dessert. Where is it going? Nobody has a damn clue. (You can find us rambling about that here. (Also, since when did that thread have 120 notes??))

This one may be vaguely canon, depending on who you ask and how you personally interpret the series, but Rhett is the black sheep of his family. Perry is the golden child, and Rhett is the one who was lost in that shadow. Tacking onto that: he's not as much of a whore as his family makes him out to be. They've found one minor character trait to latch onto, and now it's his only defining personality trait.

Also, ALSO, he's just a little bit shy and awkward <3 He can navigate a bar fight with no problem, but he's such a stranger to quiet and/or intimate moments that he starts to flounder. Call him your baby, squish his cheeks, and snuggle him to death. He'll whine about it at first, but he loves it, no matter how much he tries to pretend he doesn't.

I'm not sure if this is a headcanon or an executive decision on my part, but his horse is a mare named Isabela. I have no idea how I got to that conclusion, but I know I've used it in at least three or four fics by now 😂

If Ice and Maverick are the Navy's best worst kept secret, Warlock and Cyclone are the best kept secret

Not even Ice knows until they decide to tell him

Warlock is the gossip. He tells Cyclone everything that is harmless and won't hurt anyone, like "Seresin watched Bradshaw eat an apple with unwavering eye contact at lunch"

Cyclone pretends not to be interested but he also finds it amusing

Cyclone remembers anniversaries and dates with lethal accuracy, Warlock's the one that brings home roses at the last minute

(this ones just my own funsies head cannon lmao) Cyclone thought he was aromantic for most of his life and was very content being alone before meeting Warlock in 2012. He still think he might be, Warlock's the only person he can see himself with.

They believe in similar values but don't always agree on things in politics/in the Navy and know that sometimes they will have to go head to head over things at work but try not to let it affect their home life. E.g Warlock was a lot more sympathetic to Maverick during the events of TGM where as Cyclone had to be more focused on the mission

Mav keeps the same timeline as far as TG and TGM go. 🤣 By the time TGM rolls around he’s well into his fifties and happy balancing test piloting and his royal duties. He’s still not king though, because Fergus is still kicking. He and Viper still hang out all the time with all the tact of old men 🤣

Scotland just puts up with it because Mav has two heirs of his own. 🤣 Ice is happily running two Navys (one is behind the scenes) and Slider is running four castles with an iron fist and flying commercial. (Ice doesn't die because there’s a royal decree that he isn't allowed to smoke and has to take his high blood pressure medication. Not everyone, just Tom Kazansky).

Oh you're so right about what happened with Darkstar 🤣🤣🤣 Every pub in Scotland is full of drunks singing their favorite song of Our Paddy Canae Die!

But no Scot needs to find out how close they came to losing two heirs and getting fifteen-year-old Queen Amelia. 🤣

Personally, I'm not a fan of the headcannon that Hangman lost a wingman before TGM because it makes him mentioning Goose and his actions during training heartless. He treated training as a competition and not preparing for a life or death mission. I like the idea that he realizes that this is more than competition during the mission.

From a cannon and non-shipping aspect, his reactions when Rooster went down just screams disbelief, and I want to believe he grows as a person during the experience.

Anon babe this has been cooking all morning i hope you’re prepared

I feel like i should add like a timeline to this cause its kinda everywhere and im ignoring some of the canon stuff mav did between 86 and tgm, in my head he became a test pilot in like 2006? and thats basically the only thing he does so he can be with slider more and thats around the time ice stopped flying so also when slider became an airline pilot. idk when slider retired or if he even did yet but after mav flew the tgm mission he retired but he does still fly his p51 in airshows and if the navy needs him hes still a civilian test pilot

-They workout together and have a joint playlist (they share headphones idk how it works), mav wears little shorts and big shirts or tank tops and slider wears sweats and tank tops usually. They did matching outfits once and every time they looked at each other they started giggling so they never did it again (on purpose that is)

-mav loves being so small compared to slider, when they hug it makes him feel protected

-after goose died mav didnt really have anyone to talk to (this is before him and slider got together), he couldnt go to carole, he did go to ice a few times but slider became his person, mav grew a lot closer to both of them and they helped him a lot the first few weeks after he lost goose, they were friends for a year or more after this happened and eventually they got together

-mav buys slider flowers, tulips are his favourite

-Slider has a lifted truck (1979 ford f150, red with a white stripe on the side) and he has no running boards/step to fuck with mav (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMYAhdg7R/)

He was best friends with ice growing up and decided to give up his dream of joining the air force so he could be with ice in the navy, he never told ice this, ice knew slider would've preferred the air force and wanted to be a pilot but he didn't know it was his dream. Mav is one of the few people slider shared this with

-slider leaves the navy once ice stops flying and he becomes an airline pilot, he doesnt work a whole lot so he can spend more time with mav but he loves being an airline pilot

-slider calls mav babygirl and it makes mav blush SO HARD

-they have a HUGE bed, it was one thing they both agreed on when picking furniture for their house, they needed a big bed because sliders huge and mav sleeps like a starfish half the time

-theyre both morning people but mav is more of a morning person, slider likes to sleep in a little while mav makes him breakfast, after they eat they’ll sit on the deck in the backyard and drink their coffee

-slider took a bartending class and he makes fruity cocktails for mav, every time they go out mav gets a beer or a jack n coke because hes shy, he does love both of those but he also likes “girly drinks” on occasion. Sliders favourite drink is a margarita

-they love going on a hikes together, slider brings a bunch of snacks for mav because mav doesnt like carrying a bag

-idk where their house is but its in a medium sized town/small city? close to mavs hangar, its a medium sized house with a big yard and an in ground pool (that was the one thing slider wanted when they decided to buy a house together), the vibe of their house is similar to their wedding, a lot of colours and they have a lot of plants and flowers. its a two bedroom two bathroom house, the second floor is where the guest bedroom and bathroom are as well as a storage room, their bedroom and bathroom, kitchen and living room are all on the first floor. they have pictures everywhere and looking around their house you can tell exactly what kind of people they are and what they like, it feels like a home.

-slider comes to the hangar a lot and he’ll just hang out on the couch while mav does his thing, sometimes he helps out or works on his truck but he prefers to just watch mav

-slider picks mav up SO MUCH, he’ll throw him over his shoulder, carry him bridal style, give him a piggyback ride

-they build model planes together, they’re both loser plane nerds (so am i, im allowed to say that). Mav gets slider an a10 model for his birthday every year and watches him put it together. they keep their model planes all over the house, some of them are hanging from the ceiling too (slider hung them because mav almost fell off the ladder)

-they have so many little jokes with each other, when they’re out in public they’ll see something that relates to one of them and point it out to each other and they’ll both start laughing and get weird looks from everyone around them

-when slider becomes an airline pilot mav bakes him cookies to take with him, slider would hand them out to the crew on the plane and thats how he want from “big scary navy guy” to an absolute sweetheart, everyone loves him and compliment mavs baking

(im riled up about this rn so im adding my headcanons for their body types too)

when slider was in the navy he was bigger than most of the people there, he had a lot of muscle and not a lot of fat, when he left he did keep up his workout routine and he started eating better because he had more access to food, hes still mostly muscle now but he has a healthy layer of fat on him too.

When mav was younger his mom was a great cook, he loved to help her in the kitchen but after his dad died she just stopped, she barley ate, she did make stuff for mav but never let him help and she didnt make it with love like she would before, she wasnt happy. After she died and when mav was going from foster home to foster home he never had something stable, he had a weird relationship with food, it wasnt bad necessarily, he didnt not like eating, a lot of the time he had to make food for himself but it just wasnt as good as it could be. While in the navy he was average i guess? he had muscle but it wasnt super defined and he wasnt the biggest fan of cardio when he first joined so he did have a little fat. (while being a test pilot you have to be like better than in perfect shape but im ignoring that) he has more muscle than he did before but now that hes not flying in action as much he has more time to get back into cooking and he loves it, it feels like when he was cooking with his mom again and it has a lot to do with slider, slider loves him and he loves the food he makes, mav definitely has a little tummy now and slider loves how soft he is, theyre both still in great shape now, they love working out and being active (in many ways 👀)

Prompt- “Walk then. Come on, walk towards me. I bet you can’t even take a step.”  

     You were in trouble. Deep, deep trouble. It had started that morning when you tripped while getting dressed. There had been a sharp crack followed by a numb sensation in your right ankle. You had rolled up onto your feet and kept going without thinking. Then the pain had hit. Hard. 

     You were sitting on a bench in the locker room when Hangman burst in. “Let me see it.”      

     “See what?” You jerked up straight from where you had been untying your boot.      

     “I saw you limping.”      

     “Football injury.”      

     “Yeah, right,” Hangman scoffed and crossed his arms. “Walk then. Come on, walk towards me. I bet you can’t even take a step.”      

     Anger coursed through you. “Fine, idiot.” 

     You stood up and took a step towards them. “See, I’m perfectly-,” you cut yourself off with a cry of pain.      

     “Woah, easy,” Hangman caught you before you fell. “See?” He smirked. “Told you.”      

     “If it didn’t hurt so bad I’d punch you.” You hissed, even as you gripped his shoulder for support.      

     Hangman chuckled as he swept you up into his arms bridal style. “Come on, baby girl,” he pressed a kiss to the side of your face. “Let’s get you to the medics.”

While they are at lunch on the ship Bob just sits down infront of Mav, not even caring if he is talking to someone and being like

"I'm a little confused on how this would work in this aircraft, can you explain it?"

And Mav just falling in love because omg. This fucking kid comes up to him asking about an old aircraft cause he knows he's the expert. Mav proceeding to just explain to him everything he knows.

I got up at 5:30 am for a few days strict so that I can have some time to draw. I think this is the strongest justification for the weird headcannons.

And in my defense, I originally want to draw Mav leaving his socks on the small plane he owned, but I think he treasures the plane too much to do so. He will just leaves them in the toolbox. Huh.

Your last tug on the string is maybe a little harsher than it should've been if Six's wince and low growl is anything to go by.

"I told you to stay put. You were safe at the docks."

You huffed and rolled your eyes as you packaged the first aid kit back up and stored it away under the kitchen sink.

Six reaches for you with his good arm before you can walk away, hide in the bedroom of the safe house you two are stuck in until your pick up comes.

You trained for years on how to keep yourself safe in a situation like that, only to freeze, to let fear consume you in those few short moments. You were almost taken, almost jeopardized the whole mission and got Six hurt in the process. And you felt stupid for not listening to him in the first place.

"You're right. I should've taken you with me."

"No, I-"

"The safest place in the world for you," Six tugs gently on your hand, "is right here with me."

You look up from his bandaged up arm to the multitude of cuts and bruises marring his handsome face.

A sob catches in your throat but you won't le7t it free, you can't. You're supposed to be stronger than this.

But he's right. He makes you feel safe. Even if staying with him is more dangerous, nothing feels better than being wrapped up in his arms. Like you are right now.

"I almost lost you."

Six tightens his grip around your waist and buries his head in your neck.

"We really need to stop working together."

His goatee tickles your skin when he smiles.

"Fine," you pull away, keeping your hand entwined with his as you move, leading him down the hall to the bedroom. "Keep your eyes on me then. I have something that requires your attention."
