Synopsis: Once this beautiful lady graced their presence, all of the mercs were confused, especially Spy, at why the hell she went for a guy like Scout—

A/n: I HAD THIS IDEA OF A JESSICA RABBIT LIKE ROMANCE BETWEEN SCOUT AND THE NURSE! I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!! NEXT SHOULD BE MEDIC!!!

"You did such a good job out there Darling.."

"Couldn't have been without your healing Dollface..you treat me right everytime.."

Some of the others didn't understand what Y/N saw in Scout. The two ended up attached at the hip from when she first started here.

Scout was...Scout, brash, vulgar, doesn't know how to talk to women (in Spy's opinion.)

So how could he end up with this beautiful belle wrapped around his finger. All he had to do was call out her name and no matter where she was in the field, it was like she would magically appear next to him.

She was taller than him, more..mature than him, yet all she could is swoon over him when he would make some corny joke, or flex his barely there muscles.

Sniper called Spy jealous (to which he was NOT). While yes, she was a fine young woman, it was obvious she was...interested in the buffoon.

So one day, Spy decided to ask her himself.

Y/n was cleaning her syringe after a day of battle, She had asked Scout to get his room ready since she was sleeping in his room tonight so he was free to question the belle.

"Y/n. Do you have a minute? I would..just like to ask you something."

Y/n looked up with a small smile, setting her weapon to the side. "Hmm? Lay it on me, then Spy, you know I love questions~" she said in a teasing tone.

Spy sighed as he leaned against the table. "What do you see in zhat...Man Child? You're such a woman of class, two medical degrees..and you choose...zhat?"

Y/n paused for a bit before she broke into a giggle, she turned to Spy fully and crossed her legs.

"Well for starters he makes me laugh..He's such a funny guy, and I love a guy who can make me break out into a fit of giggles, keeps the romance alive..you would know that..right Spy?" Y/n says as she moves to stand up.

"But besides that, My darling Scoutie means the world to me, so what if he's a little stupid..all of us are. We don't know everything, well unless your name is Dell Conagher–" She joked before she continued.

"But..he's the first to ever, ya know..look past the persona I put up. And I love him for that..He's such a sweetheart to me." She finishes with a small sigh. Spy stares at her with a tilt of his head. He'd never heard another woman speak so...highly of Scout.

Usually they called him every word in the book for annoying..but never Sweet or thoughtful.

"Oi! Ya Shape Shifting Spook! Are ya borin' ma girl to death ova there?"

Right on cue, Scout walks back from the task that Y/n asked him to do. He wraps his arm around her waist before pulling her close, pressing a kiss to her cheek.

"Rooms all straighten' for ya..just fa me to mess it right up when I get ahold to ya.." He whispers in her ear making her giggle and a blush comes across her face.

She then waves to Spy, as Scout easily picks her up, his hands on both of her thighs, making her wrap her legs around him. "Have a goodnight Spy!"

"Yea..cause I know we sure are~, God you are so sexy~! Im such a lucky guy."

Spy watched as they walked down the hall before shaking his head, before turning to see Engineer standing there.

"What do you want, Hardhat."

"Nothin', just admirin' the young love." He comes up and stands next to Spy, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Stop bein' such a worry wart. She's gonna treat him fine." Engineer says before guiding Spy to the rec room.

"Now c'mon, the rest of us are playin' cards."

Spy sighs, rolling his eyes as he crosses his arms as he follows Engineer.

"I hope she does treat him right...He deserves zhat.."

He says to himself before finally leaving the hallway to join the others.

Hello world!

Yesterday during classes, I did some character analysis from the Team Fortress 2 comics, and while going through the work afterwards, I realized that I had of old art from before that I didn’t share yet - so, here they are!

This is basically just a compilation of some of my unpublished “refined” (or at least post-worthy) TF2 art dating back to May 2023.

A few of them were made without a lot of reference (like the ROBLOX ‘Free Draw’ ones), with a few disproportionate limbs (Miss Pauling: Reference Sheet) and using artwork from other artists (in the wallpapers & Spotify Playlist covers - taken from TF2 official comics & unknown artists [please message me if you know them so I can credit them!], but seeing as they didn’t ressemble chicken scratch or effortless scribbles that badly, I decided to post them anyway!

I’m quite proud with how some of them came out, specifically the ROBLOX ‘Free Draw’ ones and the wallpapers, because I worked pretty hard on them and was able to display / use them afterwards, so I’m happy to be able to show that to you as well!

Of course, there’s always room for improvement (considering the observations from the paragraph above), so I will continue to strive for betterment moving forward (specifically anatomy and expression practice).

I’ll try to keep you posted whenever I can! There’s more to come very soon.

(Minor blood warning!!)

Introducing my TF2 OC, the Janitor! The Blu Janitor and the Red Janitor are completely different people, they just happen to have the same job. This is for a TF2 OC x Canon/AU where the Red and Blu are different people and are actually decently acquainted outside of battle.

(Below is an entire Google docs worth of info. So, if you don't wanna read that, uh... I dunno what to tell you.)

Motive:

She joined the Red vs Blu war because she wanted to have a better form of payment than she was having beforehand. She was working as a Janitor to begin with at smaller jobs but the pay wasn't as good and she needed some form of extra payment. The war would be able to give her that payment as well as make herself feel more important to things rather than just being another person.

Personality & Flaws:

She is very loyal to her team and is often of the morality that as long as the person has shot first, she has every right to shoot back, despite this being a war. She is also more persistent and direct when it comes to her wording and actions. She doesn't enjoy beating around the bush with things.

As for flaws, she experiences a high amount of stress due to her need to make things look the way they were before and clean. Her loyalty also makes her more susceptible to spies and betrayal.

Loadout:

Primary: "The Quick Clean"

Her trusty rifle that she usually brings anywhere she goes. Well, unless she's specifically asked not to. Turns out bringing a rifle into a public spot wasn't the best thing to do.

Slows her speed to 105% when in loadout.

If 2 hits are made on the enemy, the second hit will be a critical.

Mid Range

Mid Damage

Secondary: "Battle Mop"

Even a simple mop can be used to beat a person into the dirt, even if it cleans the blood in the process.

Has a lower recharge since, well, it's a mop.

Close Range

Mid-Low Damage

Class Specific: "Bleached!"

She has the ability to throw a jar of bleach at people, causing splash damage and direct damage if it has an exact target.

Can give Mid-Low, but lingering, damage for 10 seconds and can give the Battle Mop more damage.

Relationships w/ Other Classes:

Blu Janitor:

- In a relationship with the Blu Medic.

- Treats the Blu Scout like a son, despite his annoyance of the fact.

- Is a bit anxious around Demoman and Pyro, but manages to spark small talk if needed.

- Mostly works with the Medic and the Sniper for cleaning things up, but works with everyone indirectly to clean weapons or uniforms.

Red Janitor:

- Currently not in a relationship.

- Has a friendship mainly with Red Medic and Red Pyro.

- Is anxious towards Soldier, and cannot seem to make any small talk with him without wanting to leave.

- Again, mainly works with Medic and Sniper, but is usually the one to clean the base rather than uniforms and weapons.

So, as a dev who HAS followed Baldur’s Gate 3′s development and who has multiple years working in design of both ttrpgs and crpgs, a lot of this is bunk.

First of all, if customers are no longer willing to tolerate aggressive AAA game monetization because they’ve been given a breath of fresh air, that’s not indicative of baseless naivety, it’s a sign of a traumatized customer. People are tired of coming home after work and school and having every second of their leisure time chopped up and sold back to them piecemeal for nickles and dimes, and many who bought Baldur’s Gate 3 are young enough to have never experienced anything otherwise. There’s only two kinds of business in the world, selling what your customer wants, and convincing a customer to want what you have, and the game industry is going on multiple decades of the latter, whereas a lot of nostalgia for gaming in the 90s was about making a game, the game being good, and the game being bought and simply enjoyed. If so much game development is directed toward figuring out how to needle as much money out of you as possible, that’s development time that doesn’t go into making the game enjoyable to experience, not without an ulterior motive of getting you to ‘sunk cost fallacy’ level.

Second, Baldur’s Gate 3 is NOT leaning on the franchise. BG1 and 2 released 25 and 23 years ago respectively, and while we lack age metrics, I’d be very hesitant to suggest the bulk of sales of BG3 are by 35-50yo’s. (For reference, Pikmin 1 and LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring the movie released 22 years ago, and can be argued to have much more staying power than Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2).Additionally, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the majority of purchases were made without knowing that it has anything to do with DND at all: it’s not in the title, and WOTC has spent 10-15 years minimum attempting to distance it’s customer base away from anything copywriteable about DND as an IP, to the point they struggle even now trying to figure out how to monetize something that the majority of it’s customers have no distinct marketable attachment to. I have friends who have played DND for years who I had to explain to that Baldur’s Gate is a famous location in DND, not like DND but that actually takes place in the world, and everything they’ve experienced in BG3 has been completely new to them, and if the sales figures and cancellation of the sequel of Dungeons And Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (it’s in the title!) is any indication, brand-recognition of DND does not help swing a product into Success territory.

Point the third: what BG3 has done isn’t hard. It’s extensive. Running on a combination of diceroll results and object tags (some of which you can see for yourself at the bottom of your character sheet, like “baldurian” or “cleric of Oghma”), the game informs the player and the scenery of choices and outcomes and object interactions. Like a torch: it can be [on/off], and [if On], it’s a [Bright Light source, 15ft radius], disabling [Darkness] in that area, which itself has [Perception check penalty] and [Stealth check advantage] variables. This [if X, then Y] object-oriented coding is the foundation of all games, from picking up ammo from a crate in TF2, to being allowed to make a Minecraft sword out of wood and metal, but not dirt or stone, but it’s not especially difficult. What’s astounding about BG3 is how SPRAWLING the connections of 12 different classes with 46 subclasses, 11 races and 31 subraces, items in your inventory, characters in your party and your relationship to them, and all the different choices and outcomes of dicerolls you made along the way all merge together into a truly engrossing roleplaying game. The basics of this can be done with even a rudimentary knowledge of object tags and an afternoon tutorial in UE4, but no code from previous Larian projects is especially transferrable to BG3, except for experience in smartly allocating time and resources for a game of this scale. Big AAA game studios invest their resources into silly little minigames and one-off scenes, enormous moments of spectacle that are better suited to a pre-rendered cinematic and that you’ll only ever see once. Big AAA game studios make movies. Larian worked hard and made a videogame, one that leaves you immersed and invested in a way that few games have of late.

At the end of the day, Baldur’s Gate 3 just flat-out feels good. It doesn’t leave you questioning your purchase, and it doesn’t promise the other half of the game sometime at a later date. It doesn’t needle you with microtransactions for cosmetics or extra quests or powerful magic items, or dangle a season pass to get you to invest X number of hours of your week or month into doing menial tasks for FOMO rewards. When people say BG3 sets a new standard, it’s because it’s actually the old standard, one that people have been missing for a couple decades, and one that’s high time for a return to.

As a dev who didn't really follow Baldur's Gate 3's development I was incredibly surprised at the number of people who have been making really sweeping and baseless claims about its success: stuff like "the game is made well by people who are passionate", or claim that other devs "just have to make good games", or that it's successful "because it doesn't have microtransactions". It's not that surprising I guess since Gamers tend to say these things about any product they happen to like and agree with, but I guess it was surprising to me how much people were saying it about this game specifically.

I'm sure the devs were passionate and I've sort of been enjoying my time with it, but frankly the success of BG3 absolutely does not feel like a design or development thing to me, but it's an obvious marketing and business one.

Having a good game obviously very much helps, but the fact of the matter is that rhetoric like this intentionally overlooks or downplays the real industry success factors: that BG3 is the third game in an already-popular and established legacy CRPG series that is built on an engine and mechanics by a studio which already made two other (unrelated) financially successful games on of the same genre, with all of it built on a back of a TTRPG franchise that has for the past few years been undergoing a huge resurgence in popularity and in no doubt funded through that partnership and licensing deals. Franchises like safe bets to make a profit, and this feels like the safest of bets. It really isn't successful because the game isn't adopting user-hostile monetization or because it's approach is radically different from any other game's development, it's successful because all these business factors.

To that end, whenever someone implies that other devs should just make games the same way...it's really funny! Like, the stars have aligned to make this product a hit and this doesn't implicitly make it a bastion or model for equitable game development just because it sold well and doesn't adopt hostile monetization schemes.

The fact of the matter is there's lots of games that are well-made by passionate devs and don't feature microtransactions or hostile monetization schemes, and they don't implicitly do well because of these design decisions alone; usually it's because they failed at marketing or didn't have the AAA budget to promote themselves like BG3. I'm also willing to bet that like every AAA studio, the devs at Larian likely weren't equitably compensated for this success, since most productions on a game of such a massive scale like this only really turn a profit because they undercut those working on it - huge profit and equitable compensation aren't often compatible concepts in game development. It's not like that would be any different here, so the "other devs should look to this game on how it should be made ethically" is a strange pull to me as well.

Basically this is all to say I think it's incredibly reductive to hold a product up on a pedestal by virtue of sales figures and choosing not to enact hostile monetization schemes. After all, I'm severely doubtful a product like BG3 would have done poorly assuming it had microtransactions in the first place. There's just way too many other factors that guided it alonge.

Do we need big budget games to move away from predatory business models that attempt to exploit the most vulnerable players? Absolutely yes I think we do, but I think people would also value from staying aware of real factors at play that define success in these sorts of situations, and not reduce development to "why don't developers simply make GOOD video games!" which I think is fairly baseless and confirmation-bias-y in its own way.

Honestly this one was a really close call, but when I really thought about it I couldn't get Mr. Explodey Man out of my head. He sees you as super passionate and well rounded, both qualities he can appreciate! This man comes from a very straightforward and strict upbringing, so having your radiant personality and look nearby is honestly pretty refreshing for him.

I can see your dynamic including a lot of hurt/comfort influences, as well as some partners in crime and like a little friends to lovers vibe. He's very much an optimist and loves keeping your spirits up! He understands a lot of what you're going through (*coughs*t4t*coughs*) so expect a lot of advice and validating comments. Definitely tries to get you into some mischievous activities when bored, trouble is this guy's middle name (it's actually Finnegan). That's not to say he doesn't mind lounging about the house, learning about one of your interests through videos you watch or just listening to you ramble. He might fall asleep on you if you're not careful tho.

Demoman is also a very adaptable man. He's been around and seen a lot in his time, so he comes perfectly prepared for nearly everything you may need from him. It does surprise him at first when exposed to your stims and tics, but only for a moment! He finds stims that show your trust endearing, and certainly doesn't mind getting anything you need if you're having a bad day. He definitely seems like the type to catch on to what the different stims mean pretty quick. If he notices you're getting anxious he may subtly rest a hand on your leg, or lead you away from an area until you're no longer overstimulated. Once he learns about your non-verbal bouts he always keeps a pen and notepad nearby. Just very subtle and gentle things that shows he cares because he really really does.

He also adores your music taste!! Very chaotic instrumentals and throaty singing gets him all kinds of hyped. He tries to pass that hype on to you and it works about 99% of the time. When you're both bouncing with energy he'll gladly take you out somewhere to burn energy (and cause trouble). The best thing about Tavish is that this man can make anything fun. Simple things like taking out the trash, running errands, even going on a quiet walk end up becoming your most cherished memories with him. He always hums a tune from songs you like when he picks up on you smiling more.

Expect to meet his mother!! I have a feeling he plays it a bit old school when it comes to relationships, so he'd absolutely insist upon you meeting her. He also just really loves his mom. When you're both ready he invites you to his (fucking huge) house for tea. He's very confident you'll hit it off right away! It starts slow, but once you mention your experience with textiles she beams. Having experience herself; she happily shows you some pieces she's made for her family and for her. She asks that you update her with anything you make in the future, so I think you can safely say she likes you. It makes demoman very happy to see you getting along.

To summarize; he absolutely adores your presence in his life. He'll try his absolute best to make you happy, and loves laughing with you about anything and everything. I hope you liked it!!

Zolubu Queens VS Woacaocao Empresses in Nerf Capture The Nendroid!

//This is just an fun Team Fortress 2 style game idea for 10 girls, from 2 big, different Bagklock harems, to duke it out on each other for competition’s sake. XD

An Nerf Team Fortress 2 style "Capture The Nendroid (Flag)" between 10 from Earl's harem and 10 from Zaogao's harem for something kind of dumb, like to punish the losing team with an Batsu/punishment game; Like having to do an Keijo (Using only busts and hips/butt) fight to knock one, or the other, off an water platform while wearing binocular googles, in 2x zoom, or try to play Hand Simulator. XD Along with the loser team having to picking up all Nerf bullets that got used. And both teams having 9 'class roles', plus one more, that link to the 10 girls, the most, with the TF2 classes + Mage. And the team colors are Black (Zolubu) & White (Zaogao), not Red and Blue.

There is an 7 hit limit for any member of the 2 teams, but with an 'save' if one of her team-mates gets an 'save apple' (An green Granny Smith) and has her take an bite of it to get back into the game. But, after 1 minute of being down, the girls/girls who have fallen after 7 hits has to go back to the starting point of their 'base' and get back out there. And if an girl, or girls, gets the hit on an opposing team member, or more, if they have 1 hit or more below 7, they can count down on the hits, like from 5 hits to 4 hits.

The Nendroids (The flags in this slight Capture The Flag variation) are to be captured from the opposing team, put them in an steel cube box, color coded, and brought that team's Nendroid to the pedestal of the 'base'. Along with that, if the box of the girls' team gets dropped, they can get it and bring that back to their base. Simple enough. And the Nendroids are custom-made big headed figures of Earl Zolubu (Black Zolubu Queens team) & Zaogao Woacaocao (White Woacaocao Empresses team), that can stand on their own, without an stand.
