Saw on YouTube there are bad reports coming out about “The Marvels,” labeling the situation a “shitshow” and Brie Larson as a “nightmare” due to clashes on the set between her and Teyonnah Parris. Although they say she’s upset the movie wasn’t titled “Captain Marvel II,” (which would seem to have a legit basis), both reports are critical of her. This is also set against the backdrop of “Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” failing at the box office and a big cloud over the MCU. The guys in the videos seem a tad misogynistic. Cringey stuff.

I think they’re also Snyderverse stans.

I listened to the podcast that supposed rumour came from, and that in itself was pretty misogynistic… they obviously don’t like Brie. And a lot of the other stuff doesn’t hold together, either. Plus the ‘source’ is Jeff Sneider, who kind of has Grace Randolph levels of respect.

But it does feel like the mcu only casted him bc he's so popular rn. I wish that they would go back to what they've been doing and just casting.... Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explains why a planned Dr. Strange appearance would’ve “taken away from Wanda”

ROLLING STONE: The story of WandaVision‘s main character, Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen), is set to continue in 2022’s Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but the two projects were almost linked much more directly. As Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige reveals in Rolling Stone‘s upcoming, extensive oral history of WandaVision, Marvel struck a deal with Benedict Cumberbatch to appear in the final episode of the show as Dr. Strange. But late in the process, they wrote him out.

“Some people might say, ‘Oh, it would’ve been so cool to see Dr. Strange,’” says Feige. “But it would have taken away from Wanda, which is what we didn’t want to do. We didn’t want the end of the show to be commoditized to go to the next movie — here’s the white guy, ‘Let me show you how power works.’” That meant the Dr. Strange movie, too, had to be rewritten. In the end, Feige says, Marvel’s process is “a wonderful combination of very dedicated coordination, and chaos. Chaos magic.” At one point, back when Dr. Strange was supposed to be part of the story, the in-universe commercials were going to be messages from Strange to Wanda, and there was also talk of having Cumberbatch appear in one of the ads, head writer Jac Schaeffer says.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen is pushing back on criticism that Wanda got off too easy by flying away without punishment after she forced an entire town of people into her sitcom fantasy world. “She had to get away before the people who have to hold her accountable got there,” she says. “And where she went is a place that no one could find her. Because she knows that she is going to be held accountable, and I think she has a tremendous amount of guilt.”

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

I can generally see the potential in most pairings buuuuut: Parkner. I'm sorry to anyone that ships it but it's completely absurd to me that a ship that consists of two characters who've never interacted has more content than ships like Interwebs and even PeterFlash (and Spideychelle too but I'm talking about mlm pairings here). I feel like it's part of a consistent pattern within all fandoms in which white guys are prioritized and favored over characters of color. 

It doesn't mean that Parkner shippers are inherently racist or anything, but it does raise some questions about whether they actually care about mlm representation or if they only care about it when both parties are white men. And I think that it's important to address the underlying drivers for the popularity of all these white mlm pairings.

2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BrOTP?

Stucky. I can definitely see the appeal and I won't sit here and pretend like they don't have a lot of potential as a couple, but I personally just see them as a couple of besties lmao. 

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

Oh my GOODNESS what a hard question. I have so many. I'm only naming three tho because I suddenly forgot every single character arc ever:

a. Steve Rogers- we've all collectively agreed that the ending his character got in Endgame was terrible and made no sense for his character to go back to the past considering all of the events from the past movies so I won't go into much detail with this one since others already have lol. 

b. Clint Barton- again, not gonna go into much detail cuz I genuinely do Not care about Hawkeye in the MCU. I haven't watched Endgame since late 2019, but literally what was the purpose of Clint going in that murdering spree?? He didn't even show any remorse for it and it...literally hasn't been addressed ever since. Like yeah, he lost his whole family, but it all comes down to "cool motive, still murder" and I REALLY hope that the show addresses that.

c. Monica Rambeau- not because of any issues I have with Monica as a character, but because of the issues I have with what the writers decided to do with her character as the series went along. Her arc actually started off really well and she did have some very good scenes, and I'm so mad that they did her (and Teyonnah Parris) such a disservice by basically having her become Wanda's apologist by the end of the show. And I know that the show was about Wanda and Vision, but they still could've taken Monica in a better direction despite that. Between the "they'll never know what you sacrificed for them" and the "I'd bring my mom back too if I was given your powers" lines, the show absolved Wanda of most of the blame for what she had done. Monica constantly prioritized Wanda (a white woman because yes, Wanda IS a white woman in the MCU) after exiting the hex even after everything she had done to her and I feel very icky about it.

Marvel's Loki: More Evidence Points To Kang the Conqueror's Debut In Tom Hiddleston Series

The buzz is still building after so much new information was revealed to the public at Disney Investor's Day regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Actors rumored to be in the franchise for the past few months were officially attached to roles, and Marvel CCO Kevin Feige unloaded four never-before-seen trailers for the first four Disney+ shows releasing in 2021.

The show with the least amount of footage seen before this point was Tom Hiddleston's Loki. This new series has had more than a handful of rumors connecting the plot to at least a couple of Phase 4's theatrical movies, and it will put the God of Mischief on an insane solo adventure throughout different areas of both space and time.

Loki has even been said to bring teases for some major plot points going forward in the MCU, which seems to be confirmed by a new social media blast giving more depth to a theory from earlier this year.

A recent episode of the Post-Credits Podcast, via Twitter, revealed that Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror is rumored to make his full debut in the Disney+ series Loki. This comes after a rumor from scooper DanielRPK in February that said Loki would simply set up teases and an introduction for Kang.

WHAT THIS MEANS

The Loki series has everything needed for a perfect Kang introduction should this come to fruition. Kang is one of the most prominent time-traveling entities in Marvel Comics. The first trailer for the Disney+ series shows the God of Mischief in a number of unique situations through the course of human history, and with Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius and the Time Variance Authority involved, Kang would appear to be an ideal target with his potential mayhem.

It would also be right in line with how Marvel Studios is working to interconnect the movies with the Disney+ shows so deeply, even with the franchise's next major villain after Josh Brolin's Thanos. Captain Marvel 2 will co-star both Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel and Teyonnah Parris' Monica Rambeau after their respective appearances in Ms. Marvel and WandaVision. This will also work the other way around too with series like She-Hulk, which will include appearances by Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner and Tim Roth's Abomination.

Kang's first reported appearance will be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as officially confirmed by Feige, but he should already have plenty of momentum after his introduction in Loki. There are no details as to how he will specifically make his way into Tom Hiddleston's series, but it should go down as one of the most memorable moments in Phase 4 when it does.

Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ in May 2021.

So I was on Twitter to see people talk shit about Where Hands Touch and apparently there's a play out there called Slave Play...about three interracial couples on a plantation in antebellum Virginia. I have lost all will to live.

I saw an ad for that play in passing. I didn’t give it much thought, because I thought the name was weird.

After some googles it’s a...strange concept. Teyonnah Parris is in it.

This is what I found:

I’m not sure how I feel about someone using the backdrop of slaves on a plantation to talk about sexuality and the dynamics of various interracial relationships. There’s so many moments in history this could’ve taken place in.

To me, it seems like the writer is trying way too hard to be shocking. It just comes off as transparent.

"you gotta build your own fandom experiences" Rant incoming, ive found that im perfectly happy staying in the little sam wilson bubble of the internet and enjoying content from creators and community who truly love sam (and blocking out all the rabid racist bucky and stucky stans). But what gets me is that there are so little of us its hard to mobilize to show our support for anthony, if that makes sense? He talked recently in an interview about how he's always been overlooked in favour of his white costars. And seb stan regularly trends even when there is no tfatws promo. I dont think anthony has trended once in the last year. Idk I just wish there were easier ways to show him our support and appreciation.
