Is there a Renaissance act iii? I thought pt 2 was gonna be like a Brazilian funk or Harlem renaissance or something different. I liked the horns aspect of B’day I even thought itd be like a Mardi Gras live band version. I’d take Rumba, jazz, anything but country.

I loved how City Girls used horns like Period (We Live) and Broke Boy. That’d be a cute Southern edition and I liked he Renaissance movie when she showed the southern segment

I think the title Renaissance is referring to reviving the genre for each act from where it originated there is going to be an act 3 and it’s allegedly going to be Rock that’s the consensus everyone has come to which I hope is trueee. The concept of the trilogy to me is reclaiming genres that were started and made popular by black Americans then for co-opted by white people and black Americans got excluded from it. So with that being said I don’t think an album that’s entirely Brazilian funk would make sense for the project!!

On the pony up remix version of Texas hold em there was bounce music influence from Louisiana which was a really unexpected surprise for me. I was kinda thrown by the country album before it was released too bc country is just not something I really listen to but I wanted to keep an open mind and listen to the album I didn’t care for it on first listen bc I played a leak before work and was like rushing to finish lol.

For the rock version if it is true I’d love to hear things inspired by like little Richard and Rick James obviously Jimi Hendrix
