WillRigby over at Patreon pointed out that Kirkwall is built for efficiency and that means that a single base of operations has to be used by multiple gangs at once (which is why we can revisit the same "abandoned" warehouse and fight a different gang every time). I now picture the situation as something akin to the laundry room in an apartment block. You get to have your meetings between 8-12 in the morning on Tuesday, but you need to clear out before the next group are scheduled. No, it doesn't matter if you're in the middle of something. Learn some time management.

I'm watching GameRiot's playthrough of Veilguard, and one of the minor characters you meet is 99% voiced by Simon Templeman, Loghain's VA. Either they hired him to voice someone new, OR there might actually be a way for our past choices to matter.

Finally at the landsmeet, hope i can finally find out what makes ppl defend Loghain as a character, beyond what ive seen in cutscenes and Anora talking about him.

He’s interesting, i sort of get why he’s compelling story wise. But. Why do people defend him. I am curious.

a long time ago my friends and i did a Dragon Age RPG campaign that I was the GM (Game Maker) of. not to go into too much detail, but i planned that they would run into all the characters from the game, including Merrill and Fenris, and this is what they looked like.

there is someone else killing slavers in tevinter. calpernia took note soon after she was freed, when it became her own game as well ; there is some ghost slaying those who she wishes to see dead. it had been noticed and written down, marked as something to keep an eye upon to keep them from conflicting. it is a common goal and calpernia knew they would eventually meet. she did not anticipate that time being standing upon the threshold of a home she had come to rain death upon.

the former slaves were purchased and freed a week ago. the gold passing from her hand to another feels only a touch less sickening when calpernia knows she will be back in a few days time, will watch the skin of those who felt it right to purchase flesh turn to ash beneath her hands. it seems that job has been done for her. does this figure know her name, she wonders? or of her, of the other who skulks into grand homes in the night and leaves blood behind? calpernia knows her name has begun a slow spread through many of these homes, belowstairs, and there is a curiosity to the thought her fellow in ridding thedas of this scum has heard it.

"you have beat me to the punch," the door shuts behind her and calpernia does not move from its frame, does not draw the stave across her back, regards him with the cool hazel of her eyes, "though i suppose i cannot complain too heartily, so long as you have done what i came here to do."

it took me three days of playing veilguard AS A SHADOW DRAGON to realise that i now have official lore to base ash's backstory on 👀👀

Now that I've gotten through the First Warden stuff, the more I feel that he should be the one to tell Iori (disrespectfully) that Sarris was a deserter. Definitely in the context of "I don't know what else I expected from a coward's whelp" kind of deal and Iori absolutely *hates* him for that.

Afterward Davrin breaks it to her gently that if her father was a Warden, then his disappearance was probably due to the Calling. (Emmrich let that little tidbit slip at one point bc of course the Veilguard gossips.)

things to love about lucanis dellamorte (on top of how enthusiastic he is about killing slavers), courtesy of tevinter nights

i find it personally endearing that a tevinter altus who complains about his fellow venatori “quivering over antivan propaganda” about the approaching crows immediately breaks a wine glass when he hears it’s lucanis dellamorte coming

lucanis finds the monotonous motions of sharpening his weapons soothing before a job. he has a favourite sword and on top of that carries no less than seven daggers

he groans overhearing his cousin illario’s terrible pickup lines. he also later, while completely alone, snorts literally just imagining stupid excuses illario might make

his abusive grandmother taught him an absurdly evil murder nursery rhyme and he still recites it in his head while assassinating guards because, and i quote: “it’s catchy”

“if someone wants to pay me top coin to kill a bunch of racist blood mages—who have it coming—i’m not going to complain.”

he writes dossiers on targets for his cousin to read, which his cousin ignores to instead ask him questions right before the job while he’s trying to focus, to which lucanis responds with helpful advice about the target like “he’s weird”

at the first gala he attended in minrathous, lucanis opened the wrong door and walked into an orgy: “getting out of that had been interesting.”

while illario has the silver tongue, lucanis is more agile and better in combat. when they sneak down stairs in the dark, lucanis goes ahead to show him where to put his feet

lucanis remembers people’s names—contacts, allies, people illario seduced for the job. illario, despite being the people person of the two, doesn’t and doesn’t care

repeatedly responds to the questions of the evil slaveowner he’s here to murder with “sì”, correctly “knowing even a single syllable of a foreign language would disgust [him]”. the guy snapping at him over it “earned a genuine smile”

goes into a bar covered in blood, walks right past the angry bartender who tells him to leave, finds his cousin and literally just says “get that man to stop yelling at me”

I love how so many people are already planning to romance Lucanis as a mage for the “drama” which I support. I romanced Fenris as a mage. But like…y’all know he doesn’t hate mages right? Like he’s just called mage killer because he hates Tevinter slavers so he became especially skilled at killing mages, thus earning the title. Like absolutely everyone do your thing, romance the mage killer as a mage (I’m doing it cause in addicted to mage- or maybe I’ll make another Dalish warden) But I just wanna make sure yall are aware that drama probably isn’t gonna be what you think it is. He’s the most unenthused Crow there is. Mans treats murder like a 9-5 job where he can’t stand his coworkers or career unless he has his coffee first.

the dumbfounded way leliana says "you- you're married?!" when you take her to meet the family the alienage. the way my warden was torn between choking on the trauma versus trying to explain that it was arranged and she's gay and it's NOT like that! all tabris wanted was to introduce her girlfriend to her dad but no. tevinter slavers posing as doctors have him and half your neighbors in cages.

saddest field trip since that time we had to kill zevran's ex-boyfriend five minutes after we killed leliana's ex-girlfriend.
