Testware is test artifacts like test cases, test data, test plans needed to design and execute a test. 3. What is the difference between build and release? Build: It is a number given to Installable software that is given to the testing team by the development team. Release: It is a number given to Installable software that is handed over to the customer by the tester or developer. 4. What are the automation challenges that SQA(Software Quality Assurance) team faces while testing? Mastering the automation tool Reusability of Automation script Adaptability of test case for automation Automating complex test cases. 5. What is bug leakage and bug release? Bug release is when software or an application is handed over to the testing team knowing that the defect is present in a release. During this the priority and severity of bug is low, as bug can be removed before the final handover. Bug leakage is something, when the bug is discovered by the end users or customer, and not detected by the testing team while testing the software. 6. What is data driven testing? Data driven testing is an automation testing framework, which tests the different input values on the AUT. These values are read directly from the data files. The data files may include csv files, excel files, data pools and many more. 7. Explain the steps for Bug Cycle? Once the bug is identified by the tester, it is assigned to the development manager in open status If the bug is a valid defect the development team will fix it. If it is not a valid defect, the defect will be ignored and marked as rejected The next step will be to check whether it is in scope. If the bug is not the part of the current release then the defects are postponed If the defect or bug is raised earlier then the tester will assign a DUPLICATE status When bug is assigned to developer to fix, it will be given a IN-PROGRESS status Once the defect is repaired, the status will change to FIXED at the end the tester will give CLOSED status if it passes the final test. 8. What does the test strategy include? The test strategy includes an introduction, resource, scope and schedule for test activities, test tools, test priorities, test planning and the types of test that has to be performed. 9. The Fundamentals of Software Testing
"The Basics of Software Testing" is the first module of this ISEB Foundation course and examination syllabus.  ISEB urge that Foundation pupils spend 20% of the study time on the Basics course section.  "The Fundamentals of Software Testing" is also the title of this software testing course  opening chapter in the official ISEB Software Testing guide.Understanding the fundamentals of ST is obviously crucial to attaining proficiency according to the ISEB professional criteria.  But what, exactly, are these"principles", and what do you have to know in order to pass the ISEB Foundation examination? Why is is needed?According to Peter Morgan (freelance testing practitioner and member of the ISEB Accreditation and Examination panel), an unnecessarily high percentage of IT systems fail to fulfil expectations - or fail to operate at all - because of inadequate ST before discharge.Software testing can't guarantee against software issues or perhaps failure, but it can minimise the danger of faults developing once the software is in use.  To be able to comprehend why ST is essential, it's very important to consider the causes and impact of IT systems collapse, and the vital role that testing plays in Quality Assurance. The ISEB Foundation training-courses focus on five learning requirements:O The potential effect of an IT systems collapse;O Causes/effects of software failure;O Why testing is required;O Testing vs Quality Assurance;O Basic industry terminology. What can it be?ST is a procedure of identifying flaws in the item before it's released; this includes defects in the application code and its implementation, as well as any potential difference between what the code is supposed to do and what it actually does. The ISEB Software Testing Foundation exam requires students :O Know the basic objectives of testing;O Understand how these objectives apply in the context of producing, using and supporting applications (including the difference between examining and'debugging', and the different applications of static testing and dynamic testing).General principlesThe ISEB courses introduce pupils to 7 software testing principles:O Testing can demonstrate that problems exist, but not that issues don't exist.O Testing covers a restricted range of sample situations, and isn't comprehensive.O The sooner a problem is located, the less it costs to repair.O Defects will tend to cluster around particular regions (e.g. system sophistication, or personnel inexperience).  These regions can be especially targeted at testers.O A couple of tests, run , will have diminishing effect.O The type, design and focus of testing may vary according to the applications analyzed.O A test that doesn't reveal errors doesn't establish that the software is error-free.Fundamental test processSoftware testing is not only a case of reviewing documentation or running a software application to test for bugs.  To ensure that the proper tests are operated effectively and return significance on the resources that are invested, it is crucial that software testers execute five basic activities, which the ISEB Software Testing  software testing tutorials guidance links to form a software testing process:1.  Test planning and controlA. Evaluation planning defines exactly what will be tested, how it's going to be examined, and who we'll know when the testing is complete.B. Evaluation management is an iterative action that contrasts the progress against the plan, and adjusts the plan as required.2.  Evaluation design and analysis A. Evaluation analysis considers the particular conditions to be analyzed, and the way these test conditions are to be combined to test cases.B. Evaluation design describes the anticipated outcome of this evaluation, so that testers can easily recognise when a fault has occurred.3.  Test implementation and executionExecution signifies the most visible testing activity, and encircles establishing the tests, creating test information, logging evaluation activities and analyzing the test results.4.  Evaluating exit standards and reportingThe evaluation"exit criteria" (based during"Test planning and management") indicate that testing is complete.5.  Test closure activitiesO Ensure that all documentation has been properly completedO Close down and archive the test environment, infrastructure and testwareO Hand over testware to maintenance teamO Log lessons learnedThe psychology of testingChoosing the appropriate person (s) to successfully perform the tests, and communicating the outcomes of the evaluations to the programmers, requires a basic grasp of the psychology of testers and developers. The ISEB guidance provides a hierarchy of'liberty' - which is, a list of individuals who could possibly examine the software, gradated according to their perceived degree of detachment from the development process:O The writers of the codeO Members of the exact same development team as the authors of this codeO A different group within the exact same organizationO A different organizationThere are varying advantages and disadvantages to individuals at different levels in the hierarchy performing the software tests.  For example, the programmer may be able to work out a difficulty faster, but might also be be less inclined to identify the issues in the first location. In addition to the independence/detachment of these testers from the software development process, it is important to consider how testers can convey the results of the evaluation to the developers.  The ISEB Software Testing Foundation examination requires students to explain strategies for providing polite opinions on flaws, such as:O Focus on providing quality, instead of pointing out mistakes;O Evaluation reports are not directed towards individuals but towards goods;O Discuss problems publicly, and attempt mutual understanding;O At the  youtube conclusion of a dialogue, affirm that both parties understand what's been agreed.Overview  During an accredited ISEB Foundation course, approximately two and a half an hour must be devoted to analyzing what testing is, why it's necessary, as well as the principles principles and processes supporting a successful test performance.
