In my transition research I found that some people experienced their sexuality changing after they started testosterone. I’m kind of really scared of this, as I have only just become comfortable calling myself ace. I just don’t want to have to figure it out all over again

Would anyone who has been on T at a low dose, started on T as a non-binary person, or de-transitioned after T be willing to offer me some perspective or experience?
I'm non-binary, and considering HRT - trying to be as informed as I can before deciding but have some questions that I'm struggling to find resources for - would appreciate signposting if you know any!
I am aware that you can't pick and choose the effects of T. I'm at a point where I feel it could be affirming to me, and I'm aware that it could potentially go the opposite direction and just give me different dysphoria. (Clarifying info below the cut if you feel it's necessary)
Ideally I would be proceeding slowly and on a low dose - but if I find it is going in a non-affirming direction, what would stopping it do? Do you return to baseline or does it just stop you from continuing further?
I've been told that a low dose doesn't mean LESS change, it just means the change happens slower. If I reach my ideal presentation, do I just maintain that or would it be a lifelong balancing act to maintain?
I've seen people talk about being on T "long enough to have permanent changes" but am struggling to find clarification on this and the main resources I'm turning up aren't answering that question, and I'm struggling to find resources for nonbinary hrt at all, even if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful
I can manage at baseline, I've been able to take baseline in the direction I want to go. I would be happier if I was more masc, but also I worry that pushing that too far would just give me a different flavour of dysphoria. And in that case I would rather return to baseline and do my best with that. I hope that makes sense, open to clarifying further
Ultimately I know I'll have to talk to a doctor about it, but the waiting lists are long and I want to try and be as informed as possible until I get that opportunity

Deadass, I hear so many trans guys warning people about a lot of these things, almost making them sound like the worst thing that will ever happen but... I kinda like it?
The change was slow and gradual except for my voice (which I was actively forcing deeper to quicken the progress there). I have acne all over my shoulders, back, and chest, ass hair is much more abundant than before, I'm much more sweaty and I smell different but I don't hate it!
I do have sensory issues with sweat, but like, I take regular showers for that anyway. But overall I'm loving the way my body is changing. It feels better.
My body will likely never be 'right' with me, but just because my body will never be perfect for me, doesn't mean I can't decorate the walls of my changing home to make it feel better than before.
I. Feel. Better.
And that's more important to me than perfection.
I love my voice cracks because it means my voice is getting better at being deep. I love my acne because my skin is getting better at changing texture. I love my tdick because my clit is trying it's best God damn it. I love my random horny moments because it means my body is getting better at using my new hormones. I love my heat flashes because it means my body is getting better at self temperature regulation.
I love my second puberty because it means I'm getting better at loving on my own terms.
I love you testosterone. I love you armpit hair. I love you sweaty back. I love you uncontrollable horniness. I love you acne. I love you voice crack. I love you ass hair. I love you tdick. I love you heat flashes. I love you hormones

Testosterone gave me confidence, and that confidence allowed me to put my audacity to good use.
I’ve been joking with my friends that “I now have the audacity of an army of cis men”. Some other symptoms of testosterone include:
“Brave stupidity” such as knowing I will not be able to tolerate Carolina Reaper hot sauce and still eating it anyway (and somehow roping in another [cis] guy into doing it without making fun of his masculinity)
“Cut off all the sleeves of my t-shirts” to show off my nonexistent arm muscles
“H o r n y” That is amusing as it is annoying considering I am asexual and have no desire to fuck anyone regardless of how much I love them romantically
And last but not least: Actually having a semblance of energy to get up and be happy about my life (amazing what gender affirming care will do).

The Future of Testosterone Replacement Therapy: New Research and Emerging Trends
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) has long been the go-to treatment for men suffering from low testosterone, also known as "Low T." At Ignite HRT, we’ve seen how restoring optimal testosterone levels can improve energy, mood, strength, and overall quality of life. However, the field of TRT is rapidly evolving, with groundbreaking research and emerging trends promising to revolutionize how we approach this treatment.
In this article, we’ll explore the future of TRT by diving into the latest research, technological advancements, and promising developments. Whether you’re considering TRT for the first time or are already on your journey with Ignite HRT, understanding what lies ahead can give you a glimpse of the exciting possibilities for personalized hormone optimization.
Current TRT Landscape
Before delving into what the future holds, it's essential to understand the current state of testosterone replacement therapy. Today, TRT typically involves methods such as:
Injections: Delivered every one to two weeks to maintain stable testosterone levels.
Topical Gels: Applied daily, allowing testosterone to absorb through the skin.
Patches: A convenient option that delivers testosterone via the skin.
Pellets: Implanted under the skin, releasing a steady dose of testosterone over several months.
At Ignite HRT, we provide a range of TRT options tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients. While these methods are effective, the future of TRT promises even more sophisticated solutions.
New Research in TRT
The future of TRT is rooted in cutting-edge research that explores how testosterone affects the body, how treatment can be optimized, and how to mitigate potential side effects. Here are some of the most exciting areas of study:
1. Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs)
One of the most promising advancements in TRT is the development of Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs). Unlike traditional testosterone therapy, SARMs are designed to target specific tissues, such as muscles and bones, without affecting other organs like the prostate or liver. This selective action means that SARMs could offer the muscle-building and fat-loss benefits of TRT without some of the common side effects, such as an increased risk of prostate issues.
Research into SARMs is still ongoing, but early studies are promising. The potential for SARMs to be used in place of or alongside traditional TRT is a trend we’re closely monitoring at Ignite HRT, as it could provide our clients with a more targeted and side-effect-free treatment option in the future.
2. Microdosing and Personalized Dosage
One of the challenges with current TRT methods is maintaining stable hormone levels. Many men experience fluctuations in testosterone levels between treatments, which can lead to mood swings, energy dips, and inconsistent benefits.
Emerging research is exploring the benefits of microdosing testosterone—using smaller, more frequent doses to maintain steady hormone levels. By reducing peaks and valleys in testosterone levels, microdosing could offer a more consistent and natural experience for men undergoing TRT. Personalized dosage protocols, which take into account a person’s unique hormone needs, are also gaining traction, as they promise to offer a more individualized and precise approach to hormone therapy.
At Ignite HRT, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of personalized TRT. Our expert team works with clients to monitor hormone levels and adjust treatment plans to ensure the best possible outcomes.
3. The Role of Testosterone in Cognitive Health
Testosterone is known to have a significant impact on physical performance, but emerging research is also revealing its crucial role in cognitive health. Studies suggest that optimal testosterone levels may improve memory, focus, and even reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.
As men age and their testosterone levels decline, many report experiencing "brain fog" and difficulty concentrating. Future research may unlock ways to use TRT to improve not only physical well-being but also mental sharpness and cognitive function. At Ignite HRT, we’re excited about these developments as they suggest that TRT could evolve into a treatment that not only helps men feel better physically but also enhances their mental acuity.
Technological Advancements in TRT
In addition to new research, technological advancements are shaping the future of testosterone replacement therapy. From innovative drug delivery methods to artificial intelligence, technology is set to make TRT more efficient, personalized, and accessible.
1. Smart Drug Delivery Systems
One of the most significant emerging trends in TRT is the development of smart drug delivery systems. These systems are designed to provide more precise control over hormone delivery, reducing the need for frequent injections or daily applications.
For example, new advancements are being made in transdermal patches and injectable microchips that can automatically adjust testosterone levels based on the body’s needs. These smart systems could make TRT more convenient and provide better control over hormone levels, offering a more seamless experience for users.
At Ignite HRT, we’re closely following these innovations and look forward to incorporating them into our treatment plans as they become available.
2. Artificial Intelligence in Hormone Monitoring
Another exciting trend is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in monitoring hormone levels. AI-driven algorithms can analyze data from regular blood tests, sleep patterns, physical activity, and mood changes to provide real-time insights into how well a TRT program is working. This technology can predict when testosterone levels are likely to dip and automatically adjust dosages to maintain optimal levels.
At Ignite HRT, we’re excited about the potential of AI to enhance the way we monitor and adjust TRT plans for our clients. This technology will allow for more precise and personalized care, ensuring that each client receives the best possible treatment outcomes.
3. Gene Therapy and Testosterone Production
Gene therapy is a field of medicine that aims to treat or prevent diseases by repairing or replacing defective genes. Recent advancements in gene therapy have opened up the possibility of treating low testosterone by reprogramming the body’s cells to produce testosterone naturally.
While this area of research is still in its infancy, the potential for gene therapy to eliminate the need for ongoing testosterone replacement is incredibly promising. Imagine a future where a single gene therapy treatment could permanently restore your body’s ability to produce testosterone at healthy levels. This could revolutionize how we approach low T and TRT, making it a long-term solution rather than a lifelong therapy.
Emerging Trends in TRT
In addition to research and technology, several broader trends are shaping the future of testosterone replacement therapy. These trends reflect a growing recognition of the importance of hormone health in men’s overall well-being.
1. Preventative Hormone Optimization
As more men become proactive about their health, there’s a growing trend toward preventative hormone optimization. Rather than waiting for symptoms of low testosterone to become severe, men are increasingly seeking out hormone testing and early intervention. Preventative TRT could become more common in the future as men look to maintain optimal testosterone levels throughout their lives, rather than just treating low T when it becomes problematic.
At Ignite HRT, we’re committed to helping our clients take a proactive approach to hormone health. By offering comprehensive hormone testing and personalized treatment plans, we help men stay ahead of hormone imbalances and optimize their health before issues arise.
2. Integrative Health Approaches
Another trend we’re seeing is the rise of integrative health approaches to TRT. Rather than focusing solely on testosterone levels, many men are taking a holistic approach to their health by combining TRT with other wellness practices, such as nutrition, fitness, stress management, and sleep optimization.
At Ignite HRT, we take a similar integrative approach, helping our clients not only restore their testosterone levels but also improve their overall well-being. By combining TRT with lifestyle changes, our clients can achieve better and more sustainable results.
Conclusion
The future of testosterone replacement therapy is filled with exciting possibilities. From new research into SARMs and microdosing to technological advancements like AI monitoring and smart drug delivery systems, TRT is on the cusp of a revolution. At Ignite HRT, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of these developments, ensuring our clients benefit from the latest innovations in hormone therapy.
Whether you’re considering TRT for the first time or are already on your journey, the future of TRT promises more personalized, effective, and convenient treatments. If you’re ready to take control of your hormone health and experience the benefits of cutting-edge TRT, contact Ignite HRT today. Our expert team is here to guide you every step of the way, helping you achieve optimal health and well-being for years to come.

Sex Ed Time
ok I'm gonna tell you about some things that might happen if you are transitioning m->f. this is not a comprehensive list just my own experience, be sure to do your own research I just really wanted to voice how this affects me because I think open discussion about this type of stuff is just more helpful for everyone rather than keeping it private
BOOBS HURT WHEN THEY GROW
your sex drive (libido) will probably go down a lot
facial hair is very hard to get rid of
my go-to gender affirming clothing is high-waisted jeans. I suggest going to a goodwill or some sort of cheap store that lets you try on clothes to figure out what you like
muscle mass will go down, fat will be redistributed
boobs do all sorts of crazy stuff when you run / exercise
overtime your skin will get softer, you also might smell nicer, and I've been told it can thin body hair but I don't really see it all that much 🤷
your brain chemistry can change when you reduce testosterone and increase estrogen, there are lots of factors that contribute toward any changes to your personality, but hormones can have an impact as well. for me this is a good thing because I struggle with allowing myself to feel emotions sometimes, no matter how hard I tried I was never really able to get myself to cry. I've gotten closer to being able to cry since I started transitioning though and that makes me very happy
this is a slow process that can take several years, ultimately you're going to be in your body for several years regardless, so if this is something you want it's definitely something you should try to pursue if possible. the time will pass anyways, and it does feel nice to work towards something that can make you happier.
also this is very important, you don't need to do any sort of hormone replacement therapy in order to be trans. not everybody can access HRT, and for those who can access it, not everybody wants to take on all the changes that come with treatments. you don't have to chemically or physically change your body in any way in order to deserve respect
all right that's all I have for right now feel free to add anything in the comments, I would especially like to hear from trans men what your experiences have been, I think openly talking about these types of things can really help some people
