The Semi conducted nine deliveries in that timeframe, covering 794 miles on day two, and 806 miles on day three, around California. It drove at highway speeds for roughly 90 percent of the distance. “NACFE has verified that these are fairly fully loaded when they leave and stay fairly loaded,” said NACFE’s director Mike Roeth(..)

And all the while there's a logger in a garage in Canada outpacing musk after realizing the Tesla semi truck was a sham and getting so mad he decided to build an electric semi truck company from the ground up with just some other guys he knew. Now they have fully functioning diesel/electric hybrids that are miles more efficient than conventional logging tucks and have everything short of self driving promised by Tesla trucks
i feel so bad for nikola tesla like imagine spending years beefing with a guy who has conned the public into believing he's some sort of supergenius when in reality it's his overworked employees developing all of his world-changing inventions and you end up dying broke and starving and alone and then 100 years later another guy cons the public into believing he's some sort of supergenius when in reality it's his overworked employees developing all of his world-changing inventions and he's doing it all IN YOUR NAME. he must be rolling in his grave like a fucking rotisserie chicken

Charging with electricity is approximately 2 times cheaper per mile than refueling with diesel.1 Operators can see estimated fuel savings of up to $150,000 within their first three years of ownership. With remote diagnostics, over-the-air software updates and fewer moving parts to maintain, operators will spend less time at service centers and more time on the road.
Semi comes standard with active safety features that pair with advanced motor and brake controls to deliver traction and stability in all conditions. A central seating position gives the driver better visibility, while an all-electric architecture reduces both rollover risk and cabin intrusion in case of an accident.
With less than 2 kWh per mile of energy consumption, Semi can travel up to 500 miles on a single charge. Recover up to 70 percent of range in 30 minutes using Tesla’s Semi Chargers.
Three independent motors provide instant torque and unmatched power at any speed so drivers can merge safely and keep pace with traffic. Accelerate from 0-60 mph in 20 seconds, fully loaded, and maintain highway-level speeds even up steep grades.

The Tesla Semi looks fantastic as a beautiful electric motorhome
The Tesla Semi looks fantastic as a beautiful electric motorhome
Tesla Semi electric motorhome Credit image – Electrek The Tesla Semi could be a great electric home on wheels based on the specs posted by Tesla this week and how amazing the pictures of this electric home truck on wheels are. There is something about the idea of an electric solar motor home that many people find irresistible. During the day, you can drive cleanly and live on one battery. In…

Caspian drives an old beat up pickup truck.
Aax drives a motorcycle.
Centross drives a new pickup and also a motorcycle.
Fenris drives a sports car and a motorcycle. (The 1% babyyy)
Rae drives a minivan (a classic soccer mom minivan).
Ocie drives a minivan and a motorcycle.
Momboo drives either a minivan, a convertible, or an Electric car.
Easton drives an illegally modified street racer car (pre-blindness).
Arisanna drives a convertible.
Will does not drive.
Ulysses drives an old shoddy pickup that’s always just a couple miles from breaking down. He can also drive a semi if he needs to.
Jerry used to drive a truck but it broke down. Now he drives Ocie’s minivan.
Fable drives a Tesla.
Icarus also drives a Tesla (one of their dad’s cars).
Ven drives a moped. Or a bicycle. (And Fable’s golf cart.)
Easton, Centross, and Icarus all used participate in illegal street racing.
Aax, Centross, Fenris, and Ocie all go on motorcycle rides together on Sunday afternoons when the weather’s nice. Rae and Caspian ride with Fenris and Aax when they join. Occasionally they’ll drag Ari along and she’ll ride with Fen or Ocie.

NACFE states that the “Tesla Semis will be tracked in heavy-load long-haul transport operations.” The participant profiles indicate that the trucks will drive over two routes around Sacramento for 18 days – the distance on route one ranges between 250-450 miles, with a gross vehicle weight of up to 82,000 pounds, while the second route has less than 75 miles per day of driving. The payload for the latter is described as “heavy leaving, diminishing load.”

WILD energy during my road trip down to San Fran and back for BigBadCon.
FOUR cybertrucks (on top of an absurd number of regular teslas, eugh)
a truck towing a small trailer straight up marked "Explosives"
another one towing a trailer marked "Asbestos" (especially notable because it looked like a livestock trailer but fully enclosed in sheet metal)
SO many poorly-behaved semis. if there are three lanes then I should ABSOLUTELY NEVER SEE A SEMI IN THE FASTEST LANE, GET YOUR ASS OVER YOU PIECE OF ABSOLUTE DOGSHIT
midway point hotel on the way down was right by a trucker stop and had an honest to god bitcoin ATM next door (I cannot express how much this hotel was miles and miles from ANYTHING other than a shithole little town, so I can't imagine why anyone there would want BTC in the first place)
the tonal whiplash going from the inland I-5 corridor roadside ads/signs (Trump, Jesus, Casinos) to the Bay Area ads/signs (AI, AI, SOC 2 Compliance, AI, Open Source)
pulled over by a cop on my last day in SF -- I thought for an inappropriate sudden left turn but it turns out I have a burned out tail light
went for (I thought) a nicer midway point hotel on the way back, only to walk into my room and find two (2) spiders, three (3) beetles of various sizes, and one (1) cockroach over an inch long. you bet your ass I peeled up all the bedding and checked the mattress for bedbugs before I went to sleep.
also half that town apparently closes down on Monday nights
ended up at a nice restaurant on the river and had a dish with salmon from that very river. the salmon was overcooked, the 'smashed fingerling potatoes' were undercooked and not even a little bit smashed, the 'beurre blanc' was a watery soup, and the 'seasonal vegetable' was one (1) singular giant broccoli stalk. also I think it was the day before the restaurant went under new ownership?
passed a (small) Trump convoy, consisting of a van with deranged Jesus nonsense scribbled all over it and a pickup truck, both flying giant ratty-ass USA & Trump flags. hope the secret service has eyes on the WA-03 race because Kent is absolutely frothing at the mouth to start his own little riot/coup. it's a safe bet he's somehow responsible for the burned ballot boxes in Portland/Vancouver tbh.
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE TRUCK ART. dragon on the left side. same dragon on the right side. same dragon on the tailgate, but there also CUDDLING A BOBCAT.
shoutout to Maverick Jack's in SF, though. genuinely, unironically, some of THE BEST burgers I've ever had in my entire fucking life.

me: [watching a dashcam compilation that includes a video of a Tesla trying to cut-off a semi that signalled in plenty of time to enter the left lane and overtake slower traffic in Pennsylvania] me: [goes to the comments and likes the comment of someone saying that the Tesla driver was an entitled asshole bc there was no reason for him to cut the truck off like that] european weirdo: well in europe truckers aren't allowed to take the fast lane if there are three lanes multiple people: this didn't happen in europe tho. in america anyone can take the left lane if they're overtaking traffic european weirdo: there's three lanes. it's illegal for the truck to take the fast lane multiple people: not in america tho!!!
