I knew I could trust you on this!!!

So, this is about the Give Me a Character ask game, and I’m ready for destruction!

How I feel about this character

He’s such a dramatic, mentally twisted disaster, how can I NOT love him dearly? True talk though, Gansey in my opinion had a great “peel this multilayer onion” reveal through the books. At the beginning you have him as the Obvious Endgame Love Interest and the Goofy Leader, but then all the idiosyncrasies came up and it was impossible not to like him. And then there is the final rush of “I would do everything for my friends but they don’t want it and they don’t need me” and BABY YOU GOT ME IN YOUR CORNER FOR LIFE!

All the people I ship romantically with this character

(Nervous laughter) I’m a terminal multishipper, asking me this is like getting a shopping list...But okay, whatever! I mean, for sure Ronan, Adam, Blue, and Henry (all together or in whichever mix and match you might desire them). Declan as well as far as I’m concerned (and I think he could join into some Ashley stuff, more sexytime then romantic 1.0). He could also end up in a dubious Fox Way sandwich with Orla and Blue because why not, he’s stressed, he deserves some fun (more sexytime then romantic 2.0).  Basically, JUST TRY ME!

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Noah for sure! And I also really liked the messy relationship between Gansey and Helen (which shows from the way I write them probably). And I like to think of Gansey and the 300 Fox Way ladies too, I think there is potential for the “You’re now The Boyfriend which means we get to bully you even MORE”

My unpopular opinion about this character

People sometime acts as if Gansey is either a genius mastermind or a total disaster. He’s very clever, very well-studied and also a disaster and all things should be balanced equally. Also, the general Blusey “soulmate true love” thing never really cracked it for me, the canon material has him too strongly codependent on the whole ensemble of people for getting the one girlfriend and that’s it. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Correlated to the previous one, obviously and predictably, GIVE HIM THE POLYCULE HE SO CLEARLY CRAVES. At the very least a Sarchensey, I’m not picky. Also, I wish we could have seen him going more deranged, or got more glimpses of absolutely dysfunctional coping mechanisms and/or batshit crazy ways to obtain information. Because I really think HE WOULD.

random fitzskimmons headcanons

daisy calls jemma and fitz ‘babe’. she specifically calls jemma ‘jem’ and fitz ‘honey’

fitz calls daisy ‘love’ and jemma ‘sweetheart’

jemma doesn’t usually use endearments, but sometimes, when it’s been a really long day and she’s feeling so very grateful that all three of them made it through [insert world-ending event here], she uses ‘darling’

daisy reads the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy. religiously. also every other kind of scifi (she loves firefly) (she can only enjoy most of them alone, though, because both jemma and fitz enjoy poking holes in the various science-based plots)

fitz and jemma prefer fantasy (they’re both die hard harry potter fans), but jemma will also read detective novels and fitz, very rarely (because he never has free time / the right headspace), will read poetry

all three of them enjoy doctor who, but jemma’s the one who’s watched every single season. while fitz and daisy cry about rose being the doctor’s one true love, jemma’s rolling her eyes and thinking about four x sarah jane (jemma is a multishipper: confirmed)

when fitz is busy, daisy and jemma will watch hardcore action movies. they like the fast and the furious and the terminator franchises. they usually spend the entire movie alternating between jemma complaining about the unrealistic science and daisy complaining about the unrealistic fight scenes, but they never stop watching

jemma and fitz watch science documentaries and spend the whole time talking about the possible applicability of whatever the current one’s about to SHIELD operations. when they need a break from work, they watch the great british baking show (they have a pact of silence from the academy days that still hasn’t been broken - daisy only found out because all three of them share a netflix account and they’re not very subtle)

daisy and fitz watch romantic comedies, and star wars, and star trek, and lots of other idealistic and hopeful stuff about the human race and our capacity to love. they usually don’t talk much while watching, but you can find them debating plot points in the middle of the night, in bed, when jemma’s in the middle and tryING TO SLEEP, DAMMIT

speaking of which: daisy’s a total night owl, and even though working with may has totally ruined her ability to sleep in, she’s still incapable of making herself go to bed early

fitz stays up if he’s in the middle of something interesting for work or some conversation with daisy, but otherwise he’s pretty good at going to bed in a timely manner

jemma is downright NEUROTIC about her sleep schedule. (it’s because she’s secretly NOT a morning person, shh, don’t tell anyone.) she’s always going to bed in an empty bed and sprawling out in her sleep and daisy and fitz have to sort of... maneuver her into one third of the bed when they finally decide to sleep (this is how they decide who’s sleeping where - they don’t have any sort of organization about it lol, it’s just the ‘what part of the bed is jemma asleep in tonight??’ game, every night)

fitz gives the BEST footrubs and massages. jemma requests them almost every night.

daisy does jemma’s hair... probably too often. it’s not like anyone’s complaining, though.

jemma bakes when she’s feeling anxious (i’m SURE i got this from a fic but i’m not sure which one, if someone could link it that would be EXCELLENT, thank you kindly). sometimes daisy comes home after a long day, opens her mouth to say hello, and gets a brownie stuffed in by a passing jemma

“tell me if it’s any good?” she says, distracted, as she walks by, holding a wooden spoon that’s still covered in chocolate batter

daisy hacks random things when she has free time, which comes in large chunks (look, either the world’s ending, or it’s not). SHIELD seemed to high-key forget her original skillset when she got powers, and she misses it

Rules

Para: If you’d like to para, that is fine, but if it’s anything that is ridiculously long, please put it under a “read-more.” Also, if it’s something that is rather smutty or violent, that needs to go under a “read-more” as well, with tagging indicating what it is. I know that I prefer gif-convos to paras, so there really is no preference for what you do, but please have a healthy balance.

2. Cutting Posts: Please, please cut your posts. Only include your response and the one you are responding to. This goes for all types of posts whether it be para or gif-convos. I really, really like a nice, clean dash. If you do not know how to cut posts or are not doing it correctly, I can either tell you and help you out, or feel free to send me an ask about it.

3. God-Modding: For those who don’t know, this is controlling someone else’s character without their consent. It can be rude and annoying, so please don’t do it. Alright? Alright. However, there have been a few instances where in a para, the person asks if they can god-mod a character a bit but still keep it true to their character’s bio. This is perfectly fine. Just make sure you have everyone’s consent before doing-so.

4. Mature Themes: This goes with what I said in the “Para” section of the rules. “Read-More,” please.

5. Activity: I know that life gets in the way, believe me, but if you are going to be inactive for a significant amount of time, just let us know! Sending an ask would be the best bet. If I do not hear from you in about a week and you have not sent an indication on whether or not you will be gone, I will send you a message. If I do not hear back soon, I’ll reopen your role just for the sake of fairness to active people who might want to play it.

6. Second Characters: If you want to take on a second character, go ahead! Feel free! The more characters, the merrier! Just make sure you can handle your characters, and you are active with your accounts. The pass is Rebirth. My general rule for picking up a second would be after we’ve seen what you can do for a week to two weeks. Send in an app and you’ll be good to go!

7. No OOC Drama: This is a biggie. If you don’t like someone IC, that’s awesome. Great character development. If you don’t like someone OOC, please just keep it to yourself. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then please don’t say it at all.

8. Major Plotlines and Endgames: I’m a huge fan of ships. Love them, multishipper, so if you want to start a ship, feel free! There are no endgames here. However, if you come up with a major plotline such as a death or a pregnancy or terminal illness or something, just run it by me for approval.

9. FCs: You can request a change but depending on the character, I may not allow a change. But I am always open to other suggestions, so your safest bet is to just ask!

Alright, I think that covered everything.
