Conversely, imagine if said tale wasn't originally from Johto, to the bafflement of all the Johtonian owners of a Typhlosion when they visit a new region and people start to look at them weird...

i know its cut content but can you imagine if the typhlosion myth was actually canon to the pokemon universe, like it was actual folklore that gets passed around ? can you imagine the backlash from johtonian moms everywhere upon finding out their kids were given cyndaquil as starter pokemon

i fell in love with evolotto even before i knew his name or gimmick- as the Lottery pokemon, the idea was that Evolotto could evolve into any Pokemon. an absurd premise for a pokemon, but the little bean dog really captured my imagination and i can imagine that he would have forme switches that turn him into the various "shapes" of Pokemon, canonizing those depictions as real pokemon in a way

the thing about the Pokémon teraleak is that people seem to be blurring the line of canon/non-canon information that was leaked

Reading those stories at a surface level, it makes sense that Pokemon can talk and have human traits/appear human. Specifically because of the canon lore that's already there. For instance: that one kid that became a Abra, or majority if ghost pokemon being dead humans. Also the N Zoroark theory. I think N would be the last of that kind though.

Not to mention that Az is over 3,000 years old so in his time that would be the normal, since he fell in love with Floette before it was drafted into the war. It also makes sense that the war could have changed that perspective. AKA Humans seeing Pokemon as more tools of battle than equals.

There's a terabyte of leaked stuff from Gamefreak going around right now, and one of the coolest things in it is a bunch of concept art of Pokemon that are rendered in a much darker, edgier art style than the normal one we're so used to.
