I love the Lin x Tarrlok idea. Other Tarrlok ships I think are underrated are Tarrlok x Tenzin (guilty pleasure), Tarrlok x Tahno (sugar daddy), and Tarrlok x Unalaq (water DILFs). Thoughts?
Oh shit, Tarrlok/Tenzin makes sense. I'm here for that political-rivals-to-secret-lovers vibe. 👀 Tarrlok and Tahno is WILD but Tarrlok is so manipulative that I could see it, and Tarrlok/Unalaq slakes my unquenchable thirst for water tribe dilfs and their legendary cheekbones. (Unalaq may have been a crappy villain, but his character design could get 👏 it 👏)

18, 22, 23 for the violence?
18) it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on... LIN BEIFONG. Ok, you've got to have expected this response lmao But also, Bumi II and Lightning Bolt Zolt. Same vibes, different energies, common goal: you know?
22) your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores I've answered this here.
23) ship you've unwillingly come around to I wanna say Lin x Tarrlok. I hate that I sorta like it. There's so much potential there especially pre-canon with Tenzin in the picture. I don't know: I wouldn't want for them to be end game or clearly, I haven't written them for a good reason (being that I don't know how). But there's definitely something there.
I woke up this morning and chose violence.

To Kill An Idea (Legend of Korra AU)
Note: This is set in the AU in which a (mostly) reformed Azula was one of Korra’s instructors.
Korra went through the familiar movements of a waterbending form. However, her mind refused to settle. The angry reactions of the crowd, the zealous resolve of the speaker, the bender left without his powers...
Had there always been such strong anti-bender sentiment?
She had asked Tenzin about it, but he’d told her it was a relatively recent development. Supposedly, it was due to a new movement, the Equalists, who were led by a man named Amon. But something about it didn’t feel right. And watching Tarrlok’s forces crackdown on anyone even tangentially associated with the Equalists felt wrong. He was making it worse. She was sure of it.
“You must have a lot on your mind. You’re getting sloppy.”
Korra stopped and turned. Azula was sitting on the steps, golden eyes gleaming in the dusk twilight. Half her face was hidden in shadow, but there was an amused smile on the other half. Korra’s lips twitched. She’d been wondering where Azula had been.
She’d half expected the old firebender to waltz into the council meeting and take charge. Honestly, Korra would have been glad if she had. If there was one thing Azula specialised in, it was getting things done... and getting them done properly. At the very least, Azula would have come up with a better plan for dealing with the Equalists than just arresting everyone associated with them.
“I took a walk through the city today,” Azula drawled. “And I heard some very interesting things.”
Korra sagged. “It’s a mess, and I can’t help but feel that we’re only making it worse.”
Azula held up one hand. The flame that flickered to life above her palm burned first orange and then blue and then finally an eerie white. “The city is a tinder box, and the council has vacillated between doing nothing and throwing a torch on it.”
“What would you do?” Korra asked quietly as she sat down next to Azula. The colour of Azula’s flames had always fascinated her. She’d never been able to get her own fire to burn blue, never mind the white that Azula only seldom displayed. It reminded her of moonlight, but unlike moonlight it burned. “Everything we’ve done just seems to make things worse.”
“Let me ask you a question,” Azula said. “Do you think that the Equalists are right?”
“Of course not,” Korra said. “They’re -”
The look Azula gave her silenced her mid-sentence. It was an expression that she’d seen plenty of times over the years. It was a warning to stop and think, really think, about what she was about to say because she would not like the consequences if she rushed ahead without due consideration.
Korra took a deep breath. “There are laws in place to prevent discrimination against people who can’t bend. I’ve seen those laws. My predecessor and your bother put them in place, and they made it basically impossible to ever remove them.”
“There are laws against murder,” Azula replied, a ghost of a smile on her lips. “And people are still murdered every day.”
Korra frowned. “That’s not the same.”
“Tell me, Korra, who rules the city?” Azula closed her hand. The white flame vanished, leaving them in shadow. Korra found her gaze drawn to the statue of her predecessor that stood proudly in the bay.
“The council.”
“And who sits on the council?” Azula asked.
“Tenzin, Tarrlok -”
“Benders, Korra. Benders sit on the council.” Azula’s smile widened. “Five people rule this city. And every single one of them is a bender. Yet there are more non-benders than benders. Funny how that works, isn’t it? The largest group has no voice.”
Korra felt a chill run through her. Azula’s smile was no longer amused, and the gleam in her eyes held the same intensity it did on the few occasions that the older bender deigned to take one of their spars seriously. “I... I guess.”
“Who protects the people of this city?” Azula asked.
“The police,” Korra replied.
“And who is in charge of the police? Who are the elites that stand at the top of the organisation tasked with the defence of the common man?”
“Chief Beifong... and her metalbenders...” Korra’s eyes widened. “They’re all benders too.”
“Oh, there are non-benders in the police force, but how many of them occupy senior positions? You can probably the guess answer.”
“Not many...”
“One more question, Korra. Who runs the gangs that prey on the poor and downtrodden of this city?”
“Benders...”
“You ask why the Equalists have seen so much support, but the answer is right there in front of you. You have a city in which the majority of the population is made up of non-benders, yet they are ruled by benders. They are preyed upon by benders. And the force tasked with protecting them is made up mostly of benders. How are they supposed to feel? How are they supposed to react when a councillor’s forces arrest everyone even vaguely associated with a man who, in their eyes, has committed no crime... other than to strike back at the people oppressing them.”
Korra was silent. Finally, she spoke. “We can stop Amon. What Tarrlok is doing isn’t right. But we can’t just let Amon go around taking away people’s bending.”
“Say you stop Amon. Imagine you throw him in prison or even kill him. Do you really think that will put an end to this? All you’ll be doing is making a martyr of him.” Azula chuckled. “Do you want to know why he wears a mask?”
“To hide his identity.”
“That’s part of it. But that’s not the only reason. Amon... Amon understands the power of symbols, of ideas. A movement led by a man will die when that man is killed. A movement that follows a symbol... that follows an idea... that is far more difficult to kill.” Azula nodded at the statue of Aang. “All men must die. But symbols... ideas... these things can endure long after the men who created them are dead. If you stop Amon, you won’t stop the Equalists. No. There will be another Amon and another and another and another until one of them finally succeeds.”
“So you’re saying we’re doomed?” Korra growled. “I refuse to believe that.”
“You know how to heal people,” Azula continued. “What happens you only ever treat the symptoms of a disease but not the cause?”
“That’s obvious. The person will keep getting sick and...” Korra covered her face with her hands. “I’m so stupid. We’re all so stupid.”
“No. You are not stupid,” Azula said. “You are ignorant, and ignorance need only be temporary.”
“We shouldn’t just focus on Amon,” Korra said. “We need to... to.... to focus on why he’s getting support. If we can take that support away from him...”
“Then he becomes one angry man, and a single angry man is far less of a threat than an angry man with thousands and thousands of supporters.” Azula stood. “Set aside your Water Tribe clothing. Dye your hair. Walk through the city as someone who cannot bend. Listen. Watch. Understand. To stop a revolution, you cannot simply kill its leader. You must kill its ideas.”
“Kill its ideas?”
“Korra, contrary to common belief, most people are simple. They want food in their bellies, coin in their pockets, and a roof over their head. They want a chance to rise in the world, and they want a brighter future for their children. Give them that, and they’ll die for you with a smile on their lips. Take it away, and they’ll tear themselves to pieces if it means making you suffer.” Azula chuckled. “Do you know why the Dai Li were so quick to join me when I overthrew Ba Sing Se?”
“No,” Korra said. “But I’ve always wondered.”
“The Dai Li were, for all of their many talents, simply people. When I took over the city, I made it clear that as long as they followed my orders, then things would not change for them. They would keep their power. They would keep their privileges. They would stay the true power of the city. All they needed to do was kneel to a different master. It wasn’t the city or the Earth Kingdom they were loyal to. It wasn’t the king. What they wanted was to ensure their own futures, to ensure their own success and that of their families. I promise them that and more, so what reason did they have to oppose me? On the contrary, once I tied their success to my own, they became my most fervent supporters.”
Korra’s brows furrowed. Politics had never been her strong suit, but Azula was a good teacher, albeit a ruthless one. “They don’t feel like they have a future...” she murmured. “They feel like... like Amon’s way is the only way forward. But if we could give them another way, a less risky way, but one they still believe in...”
“The overwhelming majority of them would take it.” Azula smiled, and it was kinder this time. “Simply defeating Amon will not be enough. You must defeat what he stands for. You must show his ideals to be false. You must offer another path, a better path, for his followers to take.” She patted Korra on the shoulder. “It will not be easy, but if you do this right, then you will no longer be beholden to the council to act. You will have the backing of the people, and that is a powerful, powerful thing.”
As Korra rushed off to consider her options, Azula turned to the shadow crouched in a nearby tree.
“I am quite certain that your father taught you that snooping is impolite.”
Jinora hopped out of the tree. Her expression was tense, and she wrung her hands together. “I heard what you said to Korra.”
“Of course, you did. I was saying it to you as much as I was saying it to her.” Azula’s lips curled. “You have an interest in philosophy, Jinora. You are, by all accounts, extremely well read. But reality and books are not always the same. A city built on dreams alone might as well be built on sand.” Her lips curled. “When Korra sneaks out and pretends to be a non-bender, I suggest you go with her. You could learn a lot from the experience.”
“If it were you,” Jinora asked. “If you were Amon, what would you do?”
“An interesting question.” Azula’s smile was broad. “Most people would have asked what I would do if I was in Korra’s shoes, but you’re asking the question that really matters.” Her gaze drifted to the statue of Aang once again. “I would push and push and push. The council has no idea what it’s doing. Tarrlok will respond with even greater severity because it’s the only thing he knows how to do. He will alienate more and more of the city’s people, which will only push the police force and the authorities to take harsher and harsher measures as the unrest grows. Eventually, someone is going to do something foolish. There will be blood in the streets. Tarrlok will point at it and say that things have gotten out of control, that they have to act now. And Amon? He’ll smile because he’ll finally have proof that benders have always been out to get the non-benders, that they won’t hesitate to resort to violence if they feel they’re losing control.”
“And then...?” Jinora whispered.
“And then the city is going to find out what happens when the majority of the population decides that they’ve had enough of being bossed around.” Azula’s eyes burned gold. “You don’t need to be a bender to swing a sword... or a pipe. And you don’t need to be a bender to stab someone in the back or poison their food.”
“If you know all this... why didn’t you tell Korra?”
“I am an old woman, Jinora, the last, lingering memory of a bygone age. If this city cannot save itself, then maybe it isn’t worth saving.” Azula began to walk away. “And maybe benders need a reminder that in the end, we’re all just people.”

I'm not a fan of "I ship X with therapy" but also seriously more Legend of Korra characters need therapy.
Bolin: "I was so happy to sleep under that box because a box you have is so much warmer than a box you don't, you know?"
Korra: "I was raised in a compound where I honed my skills as a human weapon. I actually didn't know money existed until I got to Republic City. Then I was poisoned and couldn't walk for a few years. I'm fine though, really. It's no pressure being the savior of the whole world and everything. Nope." *sniffs* "I'm tough."
Asami: "My mom was murdered in the second parlor. Dad replaced the rug so you couldn't see the burn marks. That was before he tried to kill me and went to prison. Is it weird to still live there?"
Mako: *sobs*
Bumi: "I'm not an airbender."
Tenzin: "I AM an airbender."
Lin Beifong: "My mom and Tenzin have this in common: the breeders were their favorite. But that's okay. I have the police force and this bottle of gin."
Amon: "My dad was a monster."
Tarrlok: "My brother was a monster."
Zaheer: "Oh, you know, 13 years of isolation isn't too bad. All the cracks in the walls have names. I talked to them sometimes. Heyyy, cracky cracky. Who's a good wall crack, eh?"
P'Li: "I hate the cold."
General Iroh II: "I was named after a beloved Fire Nation hero and have the voice of a teenager. Then all my ships sank. Three times." *laughs nervously* "What's in a name, right?"
Kuvira: "Don't get me started."
Varrick: "I'm amazing! What are you talking about? I have absolutely no psychological issues whatsoever. I'll just drink my tea with my assistant here inside this taxidermied platypus bear."

Legend of Korra Rewatch Thoughts Episode 4 (The Voice In The Night)
I like how the episode delves into just how much Amon terrifies Korra. I appreciate the show showing Korra being very vulnerable despite how tough she is since it's understandable that seeing a person bending be taken away would shake her the way it did.
I remember being just as shocked as Tenzin when Korra turned down the opportunity to join the task force when I first watched it years ago. Though now I recognize she rejected the offer more out of fear.
Tarrlok is a piece of work and such a manipulative asshole. Really want to see him get punched in the face repeatedly.
The episode serves as the debut of Asami. I don't have much to say about her now but I do know she gets more fleshed out as the show goes on. How she meets Makko along with their interactions is cute but I really don't see why they wasted time on doing a romance with these two since the previous episodes were setting up Makkora. Given the fact that the crew was under the assumption that Korra was only going to be one season long, you think they wouldn’t waste their limited time on romance drama.
The episode really does show a great job showcasing the slow growth of Tenzin and Korra's relationship with each other with how he comforted Korra as she broke down due to how much Amon terrified her.
I remember being very Bolin x Korra back when the series first came out but now I’m not as into it. I like their dynamic with each other and Bolin being head over heels with Korra while she remains oblivious is hilarious, but I’m not sensing that spark fully. Still prefer it over Kataang though.

Linzin Week 2021: Day 5 - Satomobile
Linzin Week 2021: Day 5 - Satomobile
Here’s another one of my late contributions. This was quite fun to write. Hope you enjoy it too.
One-shot, AU Lin x Tenzin Note: Set in the same universe as my other stories – Contentment and The Airbender’s Wife. You can read this in AO3 as well.
Lady Lin Beifong and Guest
You are cordially invited to the unveiling of the latest luxury model of the Satomobile.
The next lines were on the event details.
Tenzin flipped the invitation close; he had read enough.
Lady Lin Beifong and guest indeed.
If he did not know any better, he would have thought that the invitation was harmless enough. Just the standard generic invitation a local company was sending out to the influential people of the city.
Unfortunately, he did know better. This was a smarmy way of Hiroshi Sato to remind him how insignificant the airbender was to modern society.
“Well?” Lin’s voice cut through his internal monologue that was all about disparaging thoughts on the industrialist. “Are you free on that night?”
“Oh, are you asking me to join you?” Tenzin feigned ignorance. “Do you mean to say, Lady Lin – I will be your lowly guest for the night?”
Lin flicked a small pebble to this forehead. “Don’t be daft, Tenzin. Of course, you’re my plus one. There was never a doubt about that. So, how about it?” She took back the invitation and envelope from him.
She grabbed the pen that he had on his office desk and was poised to respond to the RSVP.
Tenzin pretended to go through the calendar and the planner his assistant had on this table. Lin flicked another pebble at him, knowing his tactics. Despite being engaged with each other for more than a year, Tenzin still regards Hiroshi Sato as a sore spot in his and Lin’s relationship.
He huffed when he confirmed from his calendar that the night of the launch was marked free.
Of course, he had some misgivings. Hiroshi and Lin had dated before they had and had been engaged for longer than they were.
Well, if he, Tenzin, had his way, they would not be engaged for longer than Lin and Sato. He would make sure to seal the deal soonest.
Plock!
“Stop with the pebbles, woman. Where are you even getting them? I’m free to attend the Future Industries gala.”
---
Tenzin had to acknowledge that Sato had pulled out all the stops in his latest press event. The venue was spacious and shiny, with overhead lights that sparkled. The food spread and drinks were lavish and decadent. The people were colorful and elegant, reeking of affluence and influence.
However, none of these people held a candle to the Lady Lin Beifong.
All eyes and all cameras were on them when Tenzin softly airbended them down Oogi, assisting Lin to alight as gracefully as she possibly can from the sky bison.
He knew that Lin had several formal dresses in her wardrobe (all part and parcel of being a Beifong lady) but tonight’s dress was one of his favorites. It consisted of a form-fitting silken bodice that tapers off to a flowing tulle skirt. The sleeveless canary yellow top with blue embroidery accentuated her figure and her toned forearms. And, to his chagrin, the slits of shimmering tulle skirt of yellow and sienna highlighted Lin’s smooth legs when he bended them down the bison.
While he was proud to arrive with her on his arm, he was feeling a bit awkward now as he stood by while Lin talked shop with a visiting high-ranking detective from Omashu.
The airbender excused himself by offering to get a refill of Lin’s drink. He extricated himself and went off to the bar, trying to recall which one was Lin’s drink.
“…She looked lovely, didn’t she? Resplendent and I bet that gown of hers is worth a fortune.”
“I agree. Such a pity she needed to get transported about with that beast.”
“Oh, come on now, darling, there’s no need to be rude using the term beast.” The speaker paused. “And the sky bison didn’t add to their overall charm either.”
Tenzin felt his face heat up as the guests from a nearby cocktail table gossiped and tittered.
Another guest piped up. “Well, who knows, maybe Lady Beifong will put in an order for latest satomobile tonight. No doubt she is capable of buying one.”
“Indeed.” A snooty-sounding foreign man agreed. “However, we do have to take account of that monk of hers. Don’t they have a vow of poverty or aren’t they against worldly comforts?”
The first guest, the one who talked about the dress being expensive, spoke up again. “Probably, I mean, he probably only has that one set of formal robes that he wears on every occasion.”
“Lady Beifong wouldn’t have to stand for all that inconvenience and disgrace had she not broken up with Hiroshi Sato.”
There was a chorus of murmuring agreement.
“Well, until they are wed – it could still change…”
Tenzin decided he had enough of eavesdropping and selected the brightest fruit punch before hurrying back to Lin’s side, keen not to be seen by the snobbish group.
To his dismay, while the Omashu detective had left Lin, it was Hiroshi Sato himself who was now conversing with his fiancée.
“Here’s your refill, dear.” Tenzin thrust the glass in between them, drawing a startled reaction for both Lin and Sato. “Hope it hasn’t gotten tedious; I’m sorry for taking too long.” He stared pointedly at Sato, who took a step back.
“Don’t worry about it, Tenzin.” Lin thanked him and took a sip. “Hiroshi was just telling me more details about his latest model.”
Sato cleared his throat. “Yes, Master Tenzin as I was telling Lin, this model is a little bit more environmental-friendly than the earlier model. The cushions are likewise more comfortable and would offer more protection in the event of an impact.”
Tenzin simply nodded with disinterest, subtly taking Lin’s unoccupied arm and hooking it around his. Sato was droning on more features and the airbender decided to tune him out. Until he heard…
“…In fact, let me offer you a large discount, for old time’s sake.”
“I can afford your satomobile!”
It took Tenzin a few seconds to realize he was the one who blurted out the last statement.
Lin and Sato looked at him oddly, as did four people within hearing radius.
“Yes, dear, we know you can.” Lin leaned forward, placing a hand on his chest. “But this is about the bulk purchase order for Headquarters. The contract made between RCPD and Future Industries has lapsed so we were talking about drafting a new one.”
“While I’m sure you can buy a satomobile,” Sato had the gall to poke his nose into his faux pas. “I don’t suppose the Air Nation would be pleased if you bought a fleet for the police department.”
“Of course, I knew that.” Tenzin bit out, then took a swig out of whatever swill he had chosen for his drink. “I was just saying -.”
“Oh, Hiroshi – I think that’s your master of ceremonies calling for you?” Lin suddenly pointed towards the stage, where, true enough, a man in bright blue formal wear was scoping the crowd.
Sato immediately excused himself and asked them to enjoy the libation.
“What was that?” Lin untangled her arm from his and turned him so that they were face to face. “Do you really want to purchase a satomobile?”
“Don’t you?” Tenzin threw back at her. “You seemed pretty fascinated by all those add-ons and features -.
“I was being polite.”
But Tenzin continued as though Lin has not spoken. “–And then, maybe at least you won’t have to arrive at fancy gatherings on a large hairy beast.”
“I’m fine with Oogi. He grew on me even if, I do agree with mom, that sky bison tends to smell during long trips.”
“Oh yes but this satomobile – it has all the works. It’s fancy, it’s rich, it’s comfortable, and it’s accepted by the upper-class. Not at all shabby, an embarrassment or out of fashion.”
“Hold up,” Lin raised a hand and wave the glass of fruit punch. “What is this really about? As I’ve said - I’m fine with Oogi and I barely need to transport myself around the city unless it’s for work.” She tilted Tenzin’s chin so he was looking at her. “Are we still talking about satomobiles?”
“Of course.” Tenzin could be stubborn too, and he does have his pride. He did not want his woman to be ashamed of him. He can provide for her, after all.
“Oh, Tenzin. Dear.” The earthbender’s lip quirked up to the side, revealing her amusement, but Tenzin refused to drop his serious countenance. “Well, true – this satomobile might be a bit more comfortable, it might even have more amenities and yes, it is quite showy.” Tenzin shifted uncomfortably. “But – with Oogi, he’s a beloved sky bison. I’ve known Oogi since I was a child. I trust Oogi with all my heart and I know that Oogi will not let me down. Ever.”
Tenzin did not even think twice and leaned forward to capture a quick kiss on Lin’s lips.
She always did know what to say to assuage his doubts.
“Thank you.” Tenzin murmured, his forehead on Lin’s.
Lin pulled back with her eyebrows raised. “Why are you saying thanks? Shouldn’t Oogi be the one doing so?”
He swallowed Lin’s laughter with another kiss.
He did not even mind the sudden camera flash to the side, knowing that this would be part of the double spread in tomorrow’s news feature on the satomobile launch.
Oogi would definitely receive a double helping of the special hay from the Fire Nation tonight.
---
Present day.
“…And that is why, Korra, I’d rather that you do not accept the satomobile that Tarrlok has sent over.” Tenzin finished his retelling at the Avatar who looked non-plussed.
“Or I could simply say I don’t feel right about taking something that luxurious coming from taxpayers’ money – assuming of course that he did charge it to city hall.” Korra drummed her fingers on her cheek. “Or that it’s not right accepting something that expensive since it would be misconstrued as a bribe.”
“Huh.” The airbender blinked at the teenaged avatar. “You’re right.”
“Yep,” Korra grinned, eyes crinkling. “I do read the materials you told me to, even if it was so boring. That constitution and by-laws of Republic City is one snooze fest. But I figured I need to be familiar with it in case Chief decides to land me in jail again.” She added cheekily.
Tenzin stood dumbfounded as Korra excused herself to head on to training.
“Oh, by the way, thanks for telling me that story, though honestly, I could do away with your descriptions of Lin’s ‘figure’, ‘toned forearms, and ‘smooth legs’.” Korra used air-quotes and hurried off with a laugh at the airbending master’s reddening forehead.

The character I’m most like probably jinora skjdgfj
Favorite pairing i gotta go with korrasami bc they're just. absolutely iconic and adorable and i love them
Least favorite pairing i'm gonna go with tenzin x lin
Favorite moment when kya ii and bumi ii fight against ming hua and ghazan at the northern air temple
Rating out of 10 mmm probably like a 6.5/10?? obviously part of that was just the fact that nick absolutely screwed over the production but there was also a lot of things i think they could have done a lot better

Are there any ships in ATLA (canon or not) that you like?
Oh boy, you just opened a whole can of worms xD I'll try not to ramble too much here but asfjgfgkj yes. Yes I do.
Originally I was really happy that AtLA was making a comeback because it's on American Netlfix now and available for a new audience of mostly Gen Z and I was hopeful that maybe I'd see some good ships become popular because when I was growing up everyone like Zutara or Tokka or Jetara (not against them but they weren't my thing).
....But then I realized that all of the new popular ships are also ships that I don't really care about like Zukka (don't hate it either, just not my cup of tea). So I guess I'll just be over here with my unpopular ships until the end of time. xD Apparently I like villain ships the best.
Also I don't know if you meant just AtLA or the whole Avatarverse, but I included tLoK too because it's all one shared universe with some of the same characters.
This is probably deeply cursed and random so I'm sorry in advance. |D Lists in alphabetical order because I'm OCD:
Characters I pair together but I'm not actively invested in (mainly canon ships tbh):
~Aang x Katara (so sue me xD) ~Bolin x Opal Beifong (she’s a good match for him finally) ~Kai x Jinora (kinda cute) ~Sokka x Suki (prefer her over yue with him because they got more screentime) ~Tenzin x Pema (she didn’t ‘steal’ him, they’re just more compatible) ~Tonraq + Senna (they’re great parents together) ~President Raiko x Buttercup Raiko (background af but still canon)
Pairings I actively ship:
~Azula x Ty Lee (that Grey DeLisle also likes it makes me happy) ~Bumi (Aang's son) x Lin Beifong (opposites attract xD) ~Ghazan x Ming-Hua (it was sort of hinted at in canon) ~Hakoda x Bato (domestic warrior husbands) ~Huan Beifong x Eska (these two emos belong together xD) ~Firelord Sozin x Avatar Roku (so. much. angst) ~Tahno x Desna (okay but tell me this wouldn’t work) ~Uncle Iroh x June (this is just too cute ^.^) ~Xin-Fu x Master Yu (the crackship potential is too strong) ~Yakone x His wife (I named her Ila just because) ~Zaheer x P'Li (canon and actually pretty healthy for a villainship) ~Prince Zuko x Mai (everyone hates Mai and I don’t get it :c)
Top tier pairings:
~Aiwei x Suyin Beifong (an affair that ends in betrayal) ~Bataar Jr. Beifong x Kuvira (canon and delicious) ~Earth Queen Hou-Ting x Gun (i’m sorry to gun but i had to do it to em) ~Korra x Asami Sato (unexpected in a good way) ~Mako x Prince Wu (was this not canon? it seemed canon xD) ~Firelord Ozai x Princess Ursa (he’s not very nice to her though so it’s onesided) ~Vaatu x Raava (the ultimate enemies to lovers dichotomy >:D) ~Varrick x Zhu Li (you can pry them from my cold dead hands)
OTPs:
~Amon x Councilman Tarrlok (codependent in the worst and best way) ~Long Feng x Earth King Kuei (he kept kuei under his influence too well) ~Wan Shi Tong x Unalaq (there is no heterosexual explanation for their bond) ~Admiral Zhao x Princess Ursa (she's married to his boss but he’s in love with her)
Oh and I also have a crossover ship for Koh the Face Stealer but I'm not sure where to put it so I'll mention it here:
~Koh x No Face (from Spirited Away. the face-spirit theme just fits)

Fandom ask: A:TLA
Thank you! I’ll include The Legend of Korra too, for variety.
First character I fell in love with: Not Zuko (as you might expect), because it actually took a while for him to grow on me. I think I was fondest of Uncle Iroh when I was first watching season (Book) 1.
Character that I used to love/like, but now do not: Bolin started out fun in season 1 of LoK but got annoying in later seasons. Especially the horrible weird thing with Eska.
Ship I used to love/like, but now do not: Zutara appealed to me when I was watching, before I knew much about the fandom drama. Now I tend to have a bad reaction when I see Zutara without Aang. (Within the context of Zutaraang, of course, it’s fine.)
Ultimate favorite character: Zuko, because I’m lame and unoriginal that way. Second fave: Toph.
Prettiest character: Asami Sato is probably drawn the prettiest.
Most hated character: Meelo, oh my God.
OTP: Aang x Katara x Zuko (Zutaraang)
NOTP: Other than Zutara without Aang? Uh... Bolin x Eska, I guess, because WTF.
Favorite episode: “Zuko Alone,” probably.
Saddest death: Aang dying young before the beginning of LoK is pretty sad in concept, even if it doesn’t happen onscreen. Saddest onscreen death? You’re going to think I’m nuts, but Tarrlok blowing up the boat with himself and his brother (Noatak/Amon) was tragic and shockingly hardcore for a kids’/YA show.
Favorite season: Book 3 of ATLA. All the seasons of LoK had issues, but I think the most consistently good/interesting was season (Book) 3.
Least favorite season: season/Book 2 of LoK
Character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but I hate: Do I have one? I generally have more characters that everyone else hates that I love, or at least don’t hate. Or like... entire shows, or series of comic books. Bumi II annoys the crap out of me, but I don’t think everyone loves him.
‘You’re a piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: Varrick, LOL.
‘Beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: Tenzin and Lin
‘This ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but I still love it’ ship: I dunno, is Korra x Kuvira wrong and nasty? Here, I’ll invent the trashiest trash ship right now: Varrick x Bolin. I think that would be kind of fun.
‘Kind of cute and I lowkey ship them, but I’m not too invested’ ship: Most of the canon ships are like this (Aang x Katara without Zuko, Sokka x Suki, Mai x Zuko, Korra x Asami). I’m a little more invested in Mai x Ty Lee (complementary to Zutaraang and quasi-platonic Maiko in my fics) and Kya x Lin; I also kind of wrote myself into young Kya x Izumi. Iroh x Kanna is cute and amusing.

It’s actually kind of a trip to go back and look at the old LOK ships that never sailed. There of course is M*k**** (a complete joke), Borra (friendship is better), Korra & Iroh II (?), Korra & Tarrlok (kill me), Korra & Amon (fucking kill me), and the very brief Korra x Tenzin (gone in 60 seconds).
What’s odd looking back in retrospect is that Korrasami, between Book 1 and 2, was the crack-ship. There was very little in fanart or fanfiction.
But then M crashed and burned in Book 2 and something better arose

The Myth of Y/N (Korra x Reader UNREQUITED) Part 8
TARRLOK’S MOVE
Y/N'S POV
They have finally arrived! Looks like Mako, Bolin, and Asami got all of their stuff. Hopefully the transition from living in a mansion to a temple will go smoothly after everything that has happened.
Me, Korra, and the airbending kids are waving at them as the boat finally reaches its destination.
"You're finally here!" Ikki exclaims with utmost excitement. "Welcome to Air Temple Island! You're new home."
Meelo is excited too...for other reasons.
"Yes, welcome to my domain!"
That kid scares me sometimes.
Mako approaches Korra and I with a small smile. "Thanks for sending the Air Acolytes to help us with the move."
"Yes, they've been amazing." Asami adds on. "Such tireless workers."
I look to my right and I see two Air Acolytes desperately carrying tons of luggage with all of their strength.
Damn, that's a lot of stuff. Poor guys.
Korra seems to be also surprised by the amount of luggage. "Oh, I thought you were only bringing a few things."
Mako's face flashes with amusement at Korra's comment. "Trust me, it could have been worse."
I chuckle at the firebender's response. "I guess so. Let's show you the temple."
We all start walking towards the temple, me beside Mako, and we're currently having some small talk about everything that's going on.
I glance at my right and I see Meelo giving Asami a wide (and creepy) grin. "You're pretty. Can I have some of your hair?"
I snicker at the scene before me as Mako sends a teasing look towards Asami. "Looks like I have some competition."
My snickering continues to rise and I playfully nudge him. "Yeah, Mako. Watch out! He's gonna steal your girl!"
We both let out a few chuckles, and before we know it we reached the temple. Ikki rushes to the front and stands straight, her stance full of pride.
"And now for the grand tour!" the young airbender excitedly announces. "The flying bisons sleep in those caves down there. And that's the temple Grandpa Aang built. And that's the greenhouse where we grow the vegetables and eat."
Huh, looks like Ikki knows a lot about island. I mean, duh, of course she would know since she lives here and all.
"I have a couple questions." Bolin tells Ikki, his voice full of curiosity. "Is this an all-vegetarian island? Is that where you train airbending? Do we have to wear Air Acolyte clothes? Do we each get our own sky-bison? And final question: How many tress are on this island?"
Those were definitely a "couple questions" Bolin. And why in spirits do you want to know how many trees there are?
Ikki takes a few moments thinking over Bolin's bombardment of questions, and a big grin emerges on her face.
"Yes, yes, no, no, 10,552."
Wha....what?! How...how did she....?
As my mind processes the fact that she somehow knows the number of trees here, Mako asks where they will be staying. Jinora and I start guiding them to the dormitories and I quickly flash Korra a smile and a thumbs up. She shoots back a thumbs up in response. Hopefully showing Asami to her room won't be too awkward for her.
Korra's POV
Ikki and I are walking Asami to her room. I hope she is doing okay after what happened with her father, she didn't deserve that at all.
So far we are walking in a surprisingly comfortable silence. Man, I thought it was going to be awkward since I like Mako, but actually this is-
"Asami, did you know Korra likes Mako?"
FGUESJIDDHBGJUJUSFMAEFNAWDK[PIEFBGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
"Oh...uh, no, I wasn't completely aware of that..."
NOPE!
I grab Asami's arm and pretty much drag her to her room. As we both walk in, I glare at the young airbender and slam the doors shut.
"Hey!" Ikki angrily lets out.
She really thinks I'm gonna let her in after what she just said?
"Run along, Ikki!" I shout at her. After having a quick tantrum, she eventually leaves.
After a heavy sigh, the room is filled with silence, and not the good kind.
"So..." I start, desperately trying to fill in the void. "Here's your room. I know this is a little rustic compared to what you're used to."
Despite the basic design, Asami seems to like it, sending me a warm smile. "I think it's really charming. And the best part about it? Nothing here reminds me of my father. Thank you for your hospitality."
My heart aches in sympathy at the mention of her dad, but before I could reply, a loud knocking interrupts the conversation.
Oh for spirits sake, hasn't Ikki caused us enough trouble?!
I turn to the door. Time to warn this troublemaker.
"Ikki, I swear if you don't leave us alone, I'm gonna-"
The doors open.
It's not Ikki at all.
It's Tenzin...
Spirits!
My warning dies immediately as I try to save myself. "Uh, Tenzin. Come right in."
I hear snickering behind the airbending master, and I realise its Y/N. Looks like they finished showing Mako and Bolin to their rooms. And they just heard my embarrassing act...great.
Both Tenzin and Y/N walk into the room, with the former introducing Asami to the island. After she thanks him, Tenzin turns his attention to me. "Beifong's replacement, Saikhan, is going to be induced as the new Chief of Police later. I think we should be there."
I nod in agreement. "Hopefully Saikhan would be at least half as good as Lin."
Tenzin frowns slightly at my comment. "Yes...we can hope."
The airbender leaves the room and Y/N and I leave shortly afterward, allowing Asami time to herself in her new room. We are both walking in comfortable silence, until eventually my best friend decides to speak up.
"So...how did it go?"
I narrow my eyes slightly. "What do you mean?"
They chuckle at my reply, finding my obliviousness humorous. "You know...showing Asami her new room and all that. I hope it wasn't awkward."
Spirits...why did they have to remind me?
Apparently me remembering that horrible experience was translated by my face, as Y/N chuckles again. "I take it it didn't go well?"
I sigh heavily. "It started off well...until..."
"Until, what?" Y/N asks with anticipation.
Welp, here it goes well.
"Ikki told Asami I like Mako."
They stop dead in their tracks and look at me with wide eyes. We stand in silence for a few seconds.
And then they burst out laughing, tears already in the corners of their eyes as they hold onto their stomach for dear life.
I scowl at the scene before me. Seriously, Y/N?
"It's not funny!" I weakly tell them.
They try to control their laughter...unsuccessfully.
"I'm sorry, right, sorry, it isn't, just give me a minute." They say in between laughter as they try to calm down.
Despite Y/N laughing at my misfortune, I can feel my lips curve upwards at the sound of it. It's always nice to hear them laugh.
After they finally calm down, we continue walking, though I can still see a stupid grin on Y/N's face.
"Look, don't worry about it." Y/N tells me, sincerity in their voice. "As long as you don't try to kiss Mako again, I'm sure everything will be fine between you two."
I hum in agreement at their words. "Yeah. You're right. Best not to think about it too much. Let's just get ready for Saikhan's induction as Chief of Police later."
Hopefully that won't be as bad as what happened with me and Asami.
LATER
Y/N'S POV
Korra, Tenzin, and I finally arrived at the induction of the new Chief of Police. I think Tenzin said his name was Saikhan or whatever. I just hope nothing bad comes out of it.
The new Chief approaches the podium and begins speaking to the small crowd of journalists, photographers, and civilians alike.
"It was an honour serving under Chief Beifong for so many years, and I wish her a speedy recovery." he tells everyone, his voice dripping with confidence. "It is with great humility that I take her place as the new Chief of Police. Republic City is facing a threat like none the world has ever seen. But there is one man who has been effective against Amon's revolution."
Oh no...please don't tell me it's who I think it is.
"Councilman Tarrlok."
Fuck sake.
"That is why for all matters involving the Equalists, I will report directly to him."
WHAT?! IS HE STUPID OR WHAT?!
Korra and Tenzin seem to share my surprise too, their eyes as wide as ever. We all look to our right and see Tarrlok, an arrogant grin plastered on his face.
But apparently the new Chief of Police is not done. "The police department will lend any and all available resources to the councilman and his task force until we quell this insurgency."
This guy hasn't been Chief for a day and he already sucks. I bet he was paid off.
"What is that weasel-snake Tarrlok up to now?" Korra asks us, glaring at the councilman with her arms crossed.
"No clue, but it can't be good." I tell her, glaring at the man too.
After the induction we confront Tarrlok, frowns on our faces.
"Tarrlok, I don't know what you did to get Chief Saikhan in your pocket, but I doubt it was legal." Tenzin accuses with disproval.
The councilman is unfazed by the airbender's comment, his arrogant grin returning. "Oh, Tenzin, always the conspiracy theorist. Did you ever consider Saikhan simply recognises my talents and wants what is best for this city?
Tenzin scoffs at the idea, clearly not believing that at all. Can't say I blame him.
Tarrlok then notices Korra and I, and his grin widens.
"Well, Avatar Korra, Y/N, long time, no see. Now that you two have no more distractions, I look forward to your return to my task force."
I shoot him a fake laugh. "As if. There is no way we're joining your task force again, Tarrlok."
Korra hums in agreement, her arms crossed. "Yeah, there's no way we're rejoining your vanity project."
The grin on the councilman's face vanishes, replaced with a frown. "That is unfortunate to hear. But I'm sure you two will come to your senses as you have in the past. Especially you, Korra."
He's so fucking arrogant I swear. Who does he think he is?!
"Don't hold your breath, bub." Korra shoots back at him, not showing an ounce of hesitance. "You know, Tenzin's been right about you all along. You played me, you played Y/N, you played Beifong, and now you're playing the new Chief too. Well I got news for you. You need me, but I don't need you. I'm the Avatar."
Damn straight you're the Avatar. That will show him.
I glance back to Tarrlok and his smile still present. It's like he found Korra's speech funny.
"You're not, in fact, the Avatar." the councilman simply replies.
Huh? What is he-
"-You are merely a half-baked Avatar-in-training. Which reminds me, how is your airbending going? Made any significant progress with that?"
The silence afterwards is all the answer he needs. I can feel my rage increasing by the second.
"I didn't think so." Tarrlok simply states in a condescending tone.
I clench my fists. That piece of shit.
"And you're wrong about another thing." Tarrlok continues, his smile widening. "I never played Y/N. On the contrary, they approached me and offered their services after they realised that you were too scared to fight Amon. I'm sure they will do the same soon."
ASSHOLE!
"That's not true at all, Tarrlok! I'm never rejoining your task force!" I bark out. Tenzin places a hand on my shoulder to restrain me.
The councilman chuckles at the scene before him. "We'll see about that. But if you will not be a part of my task force, then you had best stay out of my way. Good day, Councilman Tenzin, Avatar Korra, and Y/N."
He walks away, arms behind his back. I bet he still has that fucking grin.
I turn to Korra, and see a frustrated and pained look on her face. I attempt to place my hand on her shoulder but she turns and begins walking back to Oogi.
I sigh heavily. Dammit. I hope this doesn't go to her head.
LATER
It's pretty much dark now. I thought Korra went to mediate to commune with Aang's spirit like Tenzin suggested earlier, but she is nowhere to be seen. I knew I should have said something. Mako, Bolin, Asami, and I are trying to find her with no success.
Eventually, Pabu catches something and rushes into the bushes. We all follow him and see Korra sitting on the edge of the island. My heart breaks when I realise she's been crying.
"Korra...are you alright?" I cautiously ask her. Of course she's not fine.
Despite it being evident she has just been crying, Korra denies it. "I'm fine."
Mako prods on. "Come on. What's wrong? You can tell us."
After a heavy sigh, Korra lets it all out. "How am I supposed to save the city when I can't even learn airbending? I'm the worst Avatar ever! I just feel...alone."
What? Korra...you are never alone.
"Korra, that's not true at all!" I tell her, my concern for her evident.
"Yeah, that's nonsense." Asami agrees. "You are amazing."
Mako speaks up too. "Yeah, and remember, Aang hadn't mastered all of the elements when he was battling the Fire Nation. He was just a little kid."
I nod in agreement. Exactly!
Bolin adds more to his brother's comment. "And he wasn't alone. He had his friends to help him. Look, the arena might be shut down, but we're still a team. The new Team Avatar!"
The new Team Avatar? I like the sound of that.
I speak up too. "We're always going to be here for you Korra, no matter what. And we're gonna save this city...together."
We all reach out and place our hands on top of one another. Just one more person.
Korra stands up and walks to us, a small smile present now, and places her hand on ours. "Yeah. Let's do it."
We all reach towards the exit of the Air Temple Island, staring at the city we are going to save.
"Get ready, Republic City." Bolin proudly exclaims, making his voice sound tough, "You are about to be patrolled by Team Avatar."
Asami approaches us. Wait, is she wearing an Equalist glove? Cool!
Mako seems to share the thought too. "Asami, you always know how to accessorize your outfits."
Asami raises the glove with confidence. "I figure one way to fight Equalists is to use an Equalist weapon."
I chuckle at that. "Damn straight. Let's do this guys!"
"Yeah!" Korra says, "Lets ride."
We all hop onto Naga, ready to patrol the city!
Only for her to throw us off her.
Nevermind then.
"Now what?" I ask the rest as we get up.
Asami puts her hand on her chin, a smile emerging. "I think I have an answer."
A few minutes later, Asami returns with a full blown satomobile! Awesome!
We all hop on the satomobile, our excitement present.
"I like the new Team Avatar style." Mako happily comments.
Likewise. This is great! No offense, Naga.
And off we go, the new Team Avatar is out for business! We're currently just travelling around the city, seeing if there is anything suspicious. Turns out Hiroshi installed a police scanner on the vehicle, which makes patrolling much easier. After thirty minutes or so, a voice emerges from the device.
"Calling all units. Level four alert. Jail break at headquarters. Officers down. Electrocuted. Chi-blockers and Equalist convicts are still at large, armed and dangerous. Last seen heading east. I repeat, level four alert. Equalist jail break."
As we continue listening, two motorcycles and a satomobile zoom right past us. That's gotta be them!
"It's got to them guys, let's go!" I shout at the rest, pointing in the direction of the chi-blockers and Equalists.
So far we are on their tail, dodging satomobiles left and right, but then another vehicle appears out of nowhere. In moments, Bolin and Korra earthbend us a ramp and we all fly above it and land back onto the road. Mako shoots some lightning at one of the Equalists while Bolin fires some earth at another, causing both of them to crash. Two down, two more to go. Before I could celebrate, smoke invades our visions as the Equalists attempt to distract us. Asami notices that they turned right and, thanks to Bolin, were able to make it despite the smoke clouding our visions. It seems like they don't know that we made it, which allows Asami to crash the satomobile right into the two Equalists. However, they were able to flip off their motorcycles and they land on our vehicle! I chi-block one of them into submission while Asami electrocutes the other. Now the Equalists have been taken care of, all there is is the convicts. We drive ahead until we become level with the other vehicle, giving Mako the opportunity to electrocute the driver, causing it to tumble over and stopping dead in its tracks.
We did it! We captured some bad guys!
A few minutes later after we rounded them all up, some photographers appear and start taking our pictures, most likely for the newspaper. I can't wait to see a picture of all of us.
To make our victory even better, Tarrlok and his goons show up unfashionably late to the party.
The councilman approaches Korra and I, a scowl painted on his face. "Avatar Korra, Y/N, what do you two think you're doing?"
I glance at Korra and see an arrogant smile on her face. "Oh, hey, Tarrlok. Nice of you to show up finally. Here, we captured the escaped convicts for you."
Tarrlok doesn't seem impressed at all. "What you did was tear up the city and impede the real authorities in their pursuit of these criminals."
I chuckle at the councilman's claim. "Oh really, Tarrlok?" I ask him, arrogance of my own in my tone of voice, "where were you then in your "pursuit"? I couldn't see you guys anywhere. What about you, Korra? Did you see them?
Korra's grin widens even more, enjoying every minute of this. "No, Y/N. I didn't see them anywhere. If it wasn't for Team Avatar, they would have gotten away."
Tarrlok points at us, his frown still ever present. "This is your last warning. Stay out of my way."
As he and his cronies leave, I cross my arms and put on a arrogant grin.
Stay out of Tarrlok's way? Not a chance.
THE NEXT DAY
Tarrlok's gone too far this time.
I was reading the newspaper earlier in the morning. At first I was happy that the picture of Team Avatar was on the very first page and our faces were on it, but then I turn to the next page and see that Tarrlok suggested a curfew for non-benders passed night-fall, and all the council members except Tenzin agreed! Seriously?! He's punishing all non-benders because of the Equalists' actions? That's gonna give the Equalists more members!
Since I was worried about myself getting into trouble, I talked to Tenzin about it. He thinks that I won't be in that much trouble if I did stay past curfew. Because I was a part of Tarrlok's task force and I am considered a hero by the majority of the city, if I was arrested then it would probably paint the councilman in a very bad light. Still, I'm not sure about Asami. I hope Team Avatar doesn't lose a member because of a stupid curfew.
Speaking of Team Avatar, we're currently on patrol. Asami and I decided to take the risk on going with the rest of the guys despite the curfew. We're just taking a short break until suddenly the radio interrupts it:
"All available units, please respond to the 5600 block of the Dragon Flats borough. Equalists have taken to the streets. Consider them armed and dangerous. Proceed with caution."
Looks like that's a job for Team Avatar.
As we all hop onto the satomobile, I notice that Korra and Mako are...flirting?
"After you."
"What a gentleman. Thanks."
I try and fail to resist feeling jealous at the scene before, as well as anger that Mako would do that while his girlfriend is there. Asami and I trade looks of suspicion before we speed off to the Dragon Flats borough. When we finally arrive, we notice that the power is out. Why? What in the spirits is going on here?
As we all get out and get closer, we also find out that there aren't any Equalists...just ordinary civilians.
I look to the left and see Chief Saikhan standing tall and proud on the police satomobile. "All non-benders, return to your homes immediately."
One of the civilians speaks up. "Yeah, as soon as you turn our power back on!"
Looks like none of them are moving. There's no way they're gonna-
"-Disperse or you will all be arrested!"
WHAT?! They can't do that...right?
Then out of nowhere, I hear a little girl's voice among the crowd.
"Mommy, look. It's the Avatar and the Chi-Blocker!"
The crowd's attention is now focused on Korra and I, desperate eyes staring at us.
"Please, help us! You're our Avatar too!
"Yeah, and you're a non-bender too, Chi-Blocker! Help us, please!"
I approach them, my hands in the air as some sort of calming gesture. "Everyone remain calm. Avatar Korra and I are going to stop this, now."
We all walk towards Tarrlok. It's time to put an end to this.
"Tarrlok." Korra says, gaining the councilman's attention. "You need to turn the power back on and leave these people alone."
I speak up too. "Please, Tarrlok. This has to stop! You're going to increase anti-bending sentiment if you continue doing this!"
Tarrlok ignores both Korra's demand and my warning, glaring at us with irritation. "Avatar Korra and Y/N, you two and your playmates have no business here."
I point at the man, sending him my own glare. "And you and your cronies have no business terrorising the lives of these people! They are innocent! Not all non-benders are Equalists!"
"Don't be naïve, Y/N." the councilman sharply replies, "This is an Equalist rally! There's nothing innocent about it!"
I lean forward in an effort to intimidate him. "Bullshit! This isn't an Equalist rally! They just want their power and the rest of their rights back! You're paranoid, Tarrlok!"
"Nonsense!" Tarrlok snaps at me, "They are the enemy, Y/N! Round up all of these Equalists!"
Suddenly, all of the police offers metalbend the barriers to encase the citizens within them and lifting them up from the ground with earthbending.
This is madness! This has to stop now!
"Korra, stop them!" I tell her, panic rising in my voice.
Korra sends the citizens back to the ground, allowing some of them escape.
Okay, that's good! Now we just need to-
"-Hey, let go of me!"
I turn around to see Tarrlok seizing Asami's wrist with his waterbending!
"Tarrlok!" I shout at him, anger replacing my panic. "What on earth are you doing?!"
The councilman stares right into my soul as he drags Asami towards two officers. "She is under arrest! She is a non-bender past curfew and her father is a known Equalist conspirator."
He turns to look at Mako and Bolin. Oh no...
"Arrest them too!"
Metal whips surround the brothers, making it impossible for them to escape.
"Tarrlok!" Korra shouts out, lifting two massive pieces of earth from the ground.
We stand in silence for a few seconds. No-one moves an inch.
Tarrlok doesn't seem scared at all, despite Korra's power. "Unless you want to join your friends in prison, I suggest you put those down and go back to the Air Temple. You too, Y/N. I may be hesitant to arrest you in fear of public outrage, but continue with this foolishness and I might take the risk. Leave, now!"
"Korra, Y/N, listen to him! It's not worth it." Mako assures us.
After a few intense moments, Korra relents, placing the pieces of earth back onto the ground.
"We'll be all right!" Bolin also assures us as they get taken into the police satomobile.
"Don't worry, guys! We'll call Tenzin and sort this out!" I shout back at them, hoping it would provide them some sort of comfort.
As they get loaded up, Tarrlok walks up to us, his infamous grin painted on his face once again.
"So sad to see your little "Team Avatar" broken up. You had a good run." the councilman sarcastically tells us.
Korra points at the councilman, glaring daggers with her eyes. "This isn't over, Tarrlok!"
The waterbender still has his grin. "Oh, I believe it is. Take them away!"
The satomobile drives away, leaving only two members of Team Avatar left.
We need to call Tenzin. Now!
LATER
We're back at Air Temple Island with me in my room. Turns out it was very little Tenzin could do. We confronted Chief Saikhan and apparently only our friends and the rest of the civilians can only be let out if and when Tarrlok's Task Force thinks they aren't a threat anymore...even though they weren't a threat to begin with! All Tenzin can do now is confront Tarrlok about this in the council meeting tomorrow morning. But I can't wait that long! This is injustice! This is corrupt! I can't sleep! I have to do something about this!
I hear a quiet knock on my bedroom doors. I slowly approach them and open them. It's Korra. We stare at each other for a few seconds. We don't need to say anything, our eyes are having their own conversation. We know what we got to do:
We need to confront Tarrlok about this ourselves.
We all quietly leave the temple and hop on Naga. After arriving to the city, we travel to City Hall, and using Korra's earthbending, we reach the level that Tarrlok's office is on. Few moments later, we open the window, gusts of wind invading the room and blowing papers away from the councilman's desk.
The waterbender is silent, giving us a cold, bone-chilling stare.
"We need to talk." Korra simply states as we both enter his office.
Tarrlok remains silent for a few moments, his stare never leaving us. "Are any of the other council members here?" he asks his assistant.
The assistant ignores our presence for a moment and turns to the councilman. "I believe everyone has gone home for the night."
Finally, his eyes leave us and turn to his assistant. "Then you should do the same."
The old man is hesitant for a moment, his worry evident in his stance. "Are you sure, sir?"
"Leave us." Tarrlok sharply replies.
That can't be good.
After the assistant leaves the office, the councilman finally talks to us. "You two obviously have something on your minds. Spit it out."
Korra goes first, showing her outrage. "Don't you see? You're doing exactly what Amon said is wrong with benders! You're using your power to oppress and intimidate people!"
I speak up to, pointing at the man and shooting him a glare. "Korra's right, Tarrlok. I told you, this is going to increase anti-bending sentiment! You're abusing your powers!"
"And you two don't?" Tarrlok simply replies.
What? What is he saying?!
"What are you talking about? Of course not!" I tell him, no hesitance at all.
"Come on, Y/N." the councilman responds in a condencending tone. "Isn't that what you and Korra came here to do? Intimidate me into releasing your friends?"
That question makes me go silent for a few seconds. Same with Korra.
He's right...we were going to do that.
The waterbender continues, a wicked grin forming on his lips now. "See, that's what I admire about you two. Your willingness to go to extremes in order to get what you want. It is a quality us three share."
"We are nothing alike, Tarrlok!" Korra shoots back.
I remain silent. As much as I hate to admit it, he's right. We are going to extremes to get our friends back...just like Tarrlok is going to extremes to defeat Amon.
"Look, I'll make you a deal." the councilman announces. "You two fall in line and do what I say and I'll release your friends."
That snaps me out of my thoughts. Seriously? This whole thing was a plan to get us to work for him again?"
Korra comes to the same conclusion too. "That's why you arrested them? To get to us?"
Tarrlok ignores her questions, his gaze hardening. "I need your answer."
Korra and I exchange looks for a brief second. That's all we need.
"No way, Tarrlok." I tell him, my voice dripping with anger. "We are not going to be your puppets ever again!"
The waterbender rises and approaches his waterfall, his back facing us. "You will regret that decision."
Wait, is that a threat?
"You need to be stopped!" Korra barks out. "You're just as bad as Amon!"
I nod in agreement. "Tarrlok, I'm sorry, but you've become the very thing you despise the most. This has to stop!"
Tarrlok goes silent for a moment, none of us moving at all.
He finally speaks up:
"I've tried to work with you, Korra and Y/N, but you two have made it impossible."
Suddenly, the councilman sends a water whip heading right towards us!
Korra and I dodge the attack, with the former responding with some earthebending, staggering the man backwards. I try and run up to him so I could chi-block him, but he sends me back with a water hose. My best friend retaliates by shooting out bursts of flames towards our attacker, but he was one step ahead, creating a water shield around him to defend himself. Using the same shield, Tarrlok fires out pieces of ice as some sort of daggers towards us. Korra and I punch a few of them, but some of them manage to land lucky hits on me, cutting the skin on my arms and my shirt.
"Korra, give us some cover!" I shout at her.
Korra listens and creates a barrier between us and Tarrlok. Using our cover to her advantage, she earthbends the wall behind him, twisting part of it so it would push him back, smashing him through the wall and into the court room. When Korra and I enter from the hole she created, we see the councilman hanging on the edge, anger painted across his face.
"Still think I'm a half-baked Avatar?" Korra rhetorically asks him, before earthbending the man off the edge, causing him to fall onto the ground below.
Korra jumps first, landing on the floor with a powerful stance. I jump and land afterwards right behind her.
We slowly approach our attacker, whilst he is moving back, his panic and fear painfully evident in his body language.
"What are you gonna do now?" Korra taunts him, "You're all out of water, pal!"
Then I see Korra raising her hands, creating flames.
Wait?! Is she gonna burn him?!
I reach my arm out. "Korra!" I shout at her. "Don't kill-"
I go silent.
The flames on Korra's hands are gone.
In fact, Korra stops moving entirely.
Wait...same here!
I can't move!
Then suddenly my arms move on its own, and I can feel and hear my bones moving in unnatural positions. I scream in agony as I am forced onto my knees, the pain excruciating. I glance at Korra and see that she is in the same position. What's happening?!
Tarrlok stands tall and powerful, his hands in the air.
"You're in my way, Avatar and Chi-Blocker, and you two need to be removed."
Wait...is he...?!
"Tarrlok," I spit out, "you're a bloodbender?!"
Tarrlok glares at me. "You're detective skills are impeccable, Y/N."
But...wait...I thought-
"-But it's not a full moon!" Korra grunts, interrupting my thoughts. "How are you doing this?!"
I was right...it's not a full moon. How is this possible?!
"There are a lot of things you don't know about me." Tarrlok simply replies.
Then before we know it, we are thrown against the wall...and the world goes dark.
I wake up a few minutes later and I'm in a satomobile, along with Korra. We are both tied up. From the sounds next to me, it looks like Korra has woken up too.
The doors at the back are still open and I see Tarrlok, his clothes all torn up from our battle...but he is victorious.
"Where are you taking us, Tarrlok?" I ask him, rage consuming me.
"Somewhere no-one will find you." the bloodbender confidently replies. "Say goodbye to Republic City, Avatar Korra and Chi-Blocker Y/N. You'll never see it again!"
No! He can't do this!
Korra responds by spitting out fire right in his face. Tarrlok dodges the attack as the doors shut. A few seconds later the engine of the satomobile revs up, and the vehicle starts moving.
"You can't do this! Let us out!" Korra desperately demands, but to no avail.
"Tarrlok!" I shout out, despite knowing it's futile. "STOP!"
The satomobile keeps moving under the night sky and crescent moon, our screams being heard by no-one.
We are alone.

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed it!
Constructive criticism is always appreciated!
See you all in the next chapter! :D
