This made me think of Nibbler on Futurama. He has a voracious appetites, and all that he eats gets turned into energy pellets when he pooped them out.

Perhaps when Matter Eater Lad poops, he creates energy pellets too?

Invisible Kid: We can test the upper limits of his abilities when we get out of there.
