Happy New Year everyone!

Another year surrounded by love and kindness.

This year has been full of new experiences and challenges, and I feel so lucky to have had the chance to work with amazing clients and talented artists!

A big, big thanks to @ 2ammuseum, @ amuiiart, and @ mushbuzz_art for making the artbooks and merchs happen. I still can’t believe Blackbird is now heading into its 4th printing run—crazy!

Eric’s bouquet is full of Daffodils, daisys, lilacs and hydrangeas.

Daffodils- forgiveness

Lilacs (pinkish purple)- love

Hydrangeas-gratitude, grace and beauty

What he is trying to say is that he’s sorry for how he acts, he wants to to better, he loves her and is thankful for her being his mother.

a few people have asked me how i get comics out so fast. i fucking hate art tutorial infographics so bad so goddamn condescending i don't give a shit about trade secrets or w/e i'm not going to lock my stuff behind a paywall etc the answer is basically:

just draw the shit you like while keeping small goals in mind. panel a monologue or someone dancing or ugly crying etc. it will trick you into studying

if you get sick of something stop or slop through it. none of the things (especially fanart) i post ever get past lines

work in shapes not lines. you can do this even if you're not doing smthn lineless. my sketches literally look like this & i refuse to spend more than 5-10 minutes on them

other general drawing tenets of my life are

make friends w/ other artist-types not just visual artists get to know musicians & writers too

have music playlists for moods instead of tasks. i don't like study playlists for when i'm doing studies sometimes i want music that makes me feel like a fuckass dungeons & dragons wizard or a movie character at the end of the world

go outside PLEASE don't fucking draw w/ the intent of finishing smthn every day dude you will get so sick of it. jokes about drowning in piles of wips kind of piss me off bc that's how you should be doing it man

& so on & so forth. it may be very facetious to assume that people would want my advice but for the first time since i started drawing i'm making shit that i'm happy w/. which is a feeling that everyone should have
