Ten of Spades from Fallout is perfect and y'all should read my fic with him. His stutter is not exactly as it is in game because I based it off my own stutter, and I don't struggle with lip letters like Ps and Ms but I do sometimes struggle with other letters like Ns and Ts especially

“C’mon, eat up.” Deuce smiles, and amidst the pounding of your heart in your ears you can hear Grim cheering at the prospect of food.

The fish is passed into your hands and you stare dumbly down at it. Deuce’s smile might as well have been the sun itself because it’s burned into your retinas and you don’t think you’ll stop seeing the afterimage of him any time soon.

“Grim, take it easy!” Deuce chastises from beside you, and you don’t even have to look to know that Grim has wolfed down his first fish and is grabbing at another.

He sighs heavily and sits down next to you, starting to eat his own fish. You jerk at the closeness, and Deuce flinches back in response.

“Hey, are you okay?” he asks, tilting his head and furrowing his brow in a way that makes him look like a puppy, and your heart clenches in your chest because how can a boy be so cute?

“I’m fine.” you whisper, taking a big bite out of your fish to distract him. The fish melts in your mouth, and you hum at how simply divine the flavors are.

You and Deuce eat in silence. Grim has long ago wandered off towards the cooking again, relentlessly bugging the other Track and Field club members for another fish. He’s lucky he’s cute. You’re certain he wouldn’t have gotten another fish if they knew what a monster he was.

It makes you smile.

“Hey, you’ve got something on your cheek.” Deuce murmurs, and just when you thought things were turning back to normal he’s leaning in close and cupping your face, “Let me get that for you.”

A swipe of his thumb is more than enough to make your face heat up, and you hope he doesn’t feel your embarrassment when he pulls away.

“There you go.” he smiles.

Then he notices your expression and that smile falls into one of panic.

Is he turning red?

“Sorry!” he chokes out, eyes wide as he scrambles away from you, “I didn’t mean-!”

“No!” you lunge forward and grab onto his wrist, an action that surprises both of you, “Um...I didn’t mind. Don’t worry about it.”

Deuce looks away and relaxes. You let his wrist go with a sigh, and when he resumes his previous position by your side, you find yourself growing bold.

You lean your head on his shoulder.

You shut your eyes and stew in your embarrassment for a few beats before you feel his head fall against yours.

“Here.” he whispers, an apple he snagged from the food supplies, “Make sure you eat enough.”

Without thinking, you take a bite of the apple while it’s still in his hand. He blushes brighter but doesn’t pull away.

“Thank you, Deuce.” you say.

He makes a soft “mhm” noise in acknowledgment.
