“Jiung, sparkly heart shape, mouse emoji, is calling. Pick it up.” Siri’s automated voice filtered through your wired headphones, causing you to grind your skateboard to a halt. You hefted the newly purchased skateboard and rested it against your thigh, no easy feat.

Your heart thudded dully against your chest with a quickening tempo that exceeded the vibrations of your default iPhone ringtone. This was the first ever call you’ve received from your boyfriend of two months, and you were not sure how to act.

With the timidness of a baby mouse, your fingers tightly grasped your phone and swiped across the screen. “Hello?” You said, almost in a whisper, small and uncertain.

“Y/N? Ah, you picked up.” Jiung’s familiar voice sounded in your ears, as though he was standing right next to you. It wasn’t as clear and crisp as you would’ve liked though, as you could just make out the distant blares of sirens and car horns in the faraway background.

“Jiung. What time is it? Isn’t it late for you? Have you eaten? How was the show? What are you up to?” The questions tumbled past your lips before you had a chance to stop them.

“Woah, calm down.” Jiung teased, a deep chuckle drifting out of his lips, straight past your earphones and into your heart. You could almost feel the rumble of his chest as he took a second to compose himself. “Eager, aren’t we?”

“I mean,” You mumbled, more to yourself than to him. “It’s the first time we’ve called, after all…”

“That’s right, I didn’t think of that.” He replied thoughtfully. “Well, to answer your questions in order: it is currently 10:49pm, so not too late as we’re still adjusting to the timezones. We had galbijjim at this super popular spot in KoreaTown that was twice the size of any galbijjim I’ve ever seen in Korea and absolutely flooded with cheese. Oh, and the show was great, as usual. I’ll send you some cool videos of myself after this. And I’m not up to much. Some of the kids wanted to go for a stroll to get a glimpse of the New York night life, but I’m feeling pretty tired. Keeho is helping our manager with the logistics for our next tour stop. Theo is watching videos and being very loud, as usual. I’m just…”

“Where are you? Inside? It must be cold at night.”

“No. Yes? Sort of? Well,” You could hear Jiung’s soft grunts as he shuffled around in the background, getting comfortable. “I’m sitting on a windowsill. Trust me, it’s not as dangerous as it sounds. You know how in all those old American movies; the New York apartments that always have those tiny balconies with fire escapes? Yeah, I’m just sitting on that, getting a bit of the night air.”

“Wow, that sounds so cool.” You couldn’t help the wonderstruck grin that made its way onto your lips. “I wish I could take a photo of that.”

“Yeah? I’ll take a selfie and send one to you then.” Jiung answered.

“Or we could just video call?” You suggested, somewhat apprehensively.

“We could, of course, but that’s not as fun, is it?” Jiung countered, ever so gently, conscious to not leave you feeling rejected. “I’d love to see your pretty face and all, but I feel like the voice-only call is a lot more intimate, no? You can only hear my voice, and the rest is up to your imagination. It’s kinda romantic. Like a romantic late-night call.”

You nodded, cheeks reddening up even at the slightest things – like how he called you pretty, or how he was trying to create a romantic atmosphere for the two of you. The relationship was so fresh, and every little thing felt like it was big enough to make your heart pound right out of its chest. “Yeah,” You agreed breathlessly, momentarily forgetting that he can’t see you. “I guess it is.”

“So, what’s my girl doing at this hour?”

Your stomach did several somersaults, and you took a small breath to calm yourself before answering, “I’m at the Han River. It’s around noon, and I’m just practicing a bit of skateboarding before I meet my friends later. We’re going to watch a movie and hang out at a café. Oh, and I had kimbap for lunch. At the place you recommended!” At the mention of food, you immediately got excited. “It was so good! I had the tuna wasabi and special tonkatsu ones. And the kimbap ahjumma was so nice, she gave me a free drink!”

“Did she? I’m glad then. She probably knows that I recommended you – she’s always giving me free service when I go with the boys.” Jiung smiled at the thought of you visiting his favourite kimbap spot and happily eating your food. You were going around to the places he frequents in Seoul and leaving your mark there, making your own memories. It warmed his insides to think that when he got back, you could both visit those places together and create new, precious memories. “Oh, but skateboarding? Are you on your own?”

“Yup! I’m getting pretty good now, Ji! Not as good as you, of course, but I’m starting to get the hang of it.” You reported back proudly, grip tightening around your skateboard, pink and sparkly, just like the bows in your pigtails.

“I’m proud of you, but Y/N,” Jiung audibly sucked in a breath, “Isn’t that a bit dangerous? What if you fall? Who’s gonna help you up when I’m not there?”

You giggled in response. That was your Jiung, always poised to help you if you ever needed him and constantly ready at your beck and call. “I’ll be fine! I swear. I don’t even go as fast.”

“Okay, well promise me you’ll go slow and try not to do anything too crazy. I’ll teach you more when I get back.”

“Yeah, I’d like that.” You smiled sweetly, gazing out at the serene view of the Han River, secretly wishing that your beloved was not on the other side of the world so you could share this view with him.

“Twenty more days, Y/N…” Jiung muttered, almost as if he read your mind through the phone. “Twenty more days, four hundred and eighty more hours, twenty-eight thousand and eight hundred more minutes, and way more seconds before I can see you again, my love. Just twenty days, but why does it feel so far away?” He said rhetorically.

“I know,” You pouted in response. “I miss you heaps, Ji.”

“Me too, baby. I promise when I get back, we’ll get – ”

“Pizza! There’s this new place in Itaewon I really wanna try.”

Jiung laughed heartedly. “Okay, we’ll get pizza in Itaewon, and go for a skate along the river. And have a ramyeon and kimbap picnic at the park for dinner. How does that sound?”

EXO and the CUBE •

There are multiple times we see the symbolism of the Cube in Exo's mvs. Things you (maybe) didn't notice:-

-We find it first appears as a box given to Kyungsoo in Overdose intro (Overdose theory!) as they are trapped in a maze. He sees a vision and empties the sand in it.

-A surprising link I found was in Obsession's concept photos. (Obsession Theory!) I noticed that Baek and Suho stand in and out of a cube literally made of glass & light:

-Tempo is wholly based on this cube and SM further makes things complicated for EXO-Ls 👻. Notice the white text at the bottom of this teaser image:

They solve the puzzles in different rooms which are in the bigger "cube": Jongdae+Chanyeol📝, Ksoo+Xiu♟️, Kai🎹 / Sehun🥂 / Jongdae in the bar, Baek+Suho💡 in the room with a bed (another cube imagery!)

The image below clears all doubts that the 🟥 is nothing but the maze we see in Overdose and Lucky one. (Lucky One theory!)

Another smaller red cube is seen at the very centre of the maze. I'll talk more about this in a different post dedicated to Tempo.

Okay, so I'll make a compilation of all my random thoughts about Amane's MV. (it's very messy and the wording is lazy) If I feel like it, I will explain in much proper words... I will try to write some symbolism, but idk when it would be finished. (mentions of child abuse, murder!)

Title

First, let's start with the title of the MV: Purge March

Purge in dictionary means:

->rid (someone or something) of an unwanted quality, condition, or feeling;

->remove (a group of people considered undesirable) from an organization or place in an abrupt or violent way.

->physically remove or expel (something) completely.

The title summarizes the cult beliefs: erasing the people who don't accept their religion, those considered unwise, unpure by them. It can also symbolise Amane's unwillingness to change her ideals, ignoring the voices and Es:

"I disavow you, eyes corrupted must be crushed

So nary a sound can be uttered a second time, I’ll crush your throat too"

Moreover, a march has the purpose to spread an idea, an belief. Amane is expressing her attachment for her religion and the cult's beliefs, as well spreading it, in order, for other people to accept it and join.

We start the march with the drum captain:

Amane drum captain is doing her work very well, because she is the one that starts the song and sets the tempo. (an experinced member)

Continuing, the color guards are next:

"Color Guard or Flag Corps are teams of performers who combine the use of flags, sabers, rifles, and other props or equipment to perform choreographed dances and routines that enhance the visual effect of a Marching Band or Drum Corps."

Interesting, the Amane that receives punishment is a color guard. However, why such a harsh punishment?

"Flags have always been an important part of history. They often represent the pride and unity of a group or nation. They are respected and revered as a symbol of beliefs and values."

By messing up the choreography, her action was demeed as disrespect to the cult beliefs. It is pretty much prestabilated that the cult is teaching by giving punishments, so the Amane with the blue flag was "erased" from the blank space to learn.

Next, the most important member and the heart of the march, the drum major:

"A Drum Major leads the band in Marching, rehearsals, and performances. Their job is to follow directions given by the band director, be an example to the other students or members of the band, and help the program run smoothly. Generally, the Drum Major is a senior member of the band."

No wonder why Amane drum major appears in the thumbnail, but is also the one that gives punishments! The band directors are most likely the adults in the cult and her mother, so based on their teachings, Amane drum major is behaving and acts accordingly to the circumstances. She is an example, a perfect member of the march, who needs to be sure that everything goes smoothly. The color guard Amane made a mistake, so in order to learn and to not mess up she needs to receive punishment to learn.

Victim

I honestly was torn between the little girl and the mother, but ultimely I believe the murder victim is the mother. And I will give some reasons for my reasoning.

->First: this interrogation question

"Tell me what your family consists of."

"It was my father, my mother and I."

The use of the past tense never made much sense to me. It could imply, that she is talking like this because her father is not a lot at home. However, the question is pretty straightforward, so for Amane to use the past sense just to imply that her father is away at the moment, doesn't make much sense? Unless if of course, one of them is already dead. Even with only the first trial interrogation question we can already guess that Amane respects and loves her father more than her mother, so if we have to chose between those two, whose the one dead, I think the choice is obvious...

->Second: the victim's hand

I find it difficult to explain why the little girl would be in Amane's home. Yes, she goes once, but there is an adult with her. I find it hard to believe that the girl will come on her own will. I believe this scene more likely shows that the man and the girl went to Amane's home to tell her mother about Amane's actions of healing the cat.

Moreover, the hand looks bigger than Amane's. The little girl and Amane seem to be the same age, if not, younger, so the size difference is really questionable.

->Third: body parts

The little girl has all the body shown, with the exception of the face features.

The mother has just her hand shown, nothing else. Not only it implies that Amane remembers her mother just for the abuse, showing the hand with which she caused her harm, but it is also the only body part shown of the victim. So why hide the victim and only show the hand? It makes harder to find who is the victim, but it also can lead us to the reasoning that the mother is the one murdered...

-> Fourth: lyrics

"If you're going to break you vow/Here and now/It's my turn to tear you apart/ So there is no second time/ I'll give back the judgement you gave to me/ After you cry, repent and kneel/ It's now your turn to say that hopeless "I'm sorry" /You are sorry? I don't care! / Please go ahead and die already/Remember MY cries, MY repents, MY words of "I'm sorry" / that I said to you"

This part is clearly directed towards the murder victim. Who do we see abusing and hurting Amane in her MV? Her mother. She is the one who is tearing Amane apart by hurting her. Also, these lyrics:

"Remember MY cries, MY repents, MY words of "I'm sorry" / that I said to you"

I don't think Amane will apologize to this extent to a random little girl. Also, it's more likely for her to cry, repent and apologize if she was beaten up at that moment. Because she wanted the pain to stop, the punishment to be over.

The mascots

With the new MV, I don't think the mascots represent real people anymore. They are just beliefs, rules of the cult.

The poster pretty much shows that they are used as advertisers, and so it explains why in the first MV, Amane was watching them at the TV.

The beliefs in question:(colour=mascot)

"Tis ordained, thou shall follow thine destiny"

"Tis ordained, thou shall discard vulgarity"

"Tis ordained, thou shall deliver unto those thou believest in"

"Tis ordained, thou shall stay thine course, then perish"

Why Amane killed her mother?

To answer this, we have to go to the scene with the cat. It's pretty clear that Amane wasn't the one who killed it, in fact, after helping it, she goes next day and notice that it's gone. The man and the girl who are most probably part of the cult, only watched from afar and told the mother what Amane did.

Let's take a look at the rules of the cult, shall we?

From those four, the ones which seem to be againts Amane's actions are the first and the last one.

"Tis ordained, thou shall follow thine destiny"

Meaning that if the cat was injuried, only the destiny will tell if it will live or not. Amane shouldn’t intervene and heal the cat.

"Tis ordained, thou shall stay thine course, then perish"

Quite similar meaning, the cat has to remain on the path that it taken (what caused it to be harm) and then perish. Amane prelonged its life, and such the rule was broken.

The cult members only told Amane's mother what her daughter did, but they never were shown approaching the cat, they went straight to Amane's house. If you think about it, it makes sense for them to not hurt the animal. It will again be against the rules. The second rule implies that they are against vulgarity, it's not socially accepted to kill an animal, it's rude and violent. The first and last rule will also be broken, because by killing the cat, they wouldn't let it to follow its destiny, to see if it will heal or not. How Amane will tell "it's a trial from God". If the cat was killed, it wouldn't have the chance to overcome this trial.

This means that the only person who killed the cat was her mother.

When Amane comes home after healing the cat, she is punished by the mother for her actions.

But if the mother killed the cat and broke some rules along with it, doesn't that mean, that the mother also deserves punishment...?

Amane was taught that with a proper punishment she will learn. Combined with some feelings of resentment towards her mother, for the pain she caused, and the knowledge that her mother also broke the rules, she has all the reasons to give her mother a punishment.

These lyrics really start to hit harder and make even more sense...

The weapon

The transition between Amane with an umbrella and the thumbnail, implies that the main murder weapon is most likely the umbrella.

(the quality is so bad...)

Not only is shown in the last sequence with the victim, but it is also very similar with the weapon in undercover.

After Amane sees the dead cat, she comes home with a weird expression: she is happy and the eyes look hypnotized. It can symbolise how the only thoughts that she has in her mind are the cult rules. Moreover, in the white world created by Amane, the march is no longer organized, the members are chaotic, enthusiastic that they found the bad person, as described in the first lyrics, in this case, the mother. (I will explain in the next section!)

It means, that the murder took place soon after Amane saw the dead cat, most likely the moment she came home. In the last scene, there is water on the floor. In that day, it was raining. If she used the umbrella during a rainy day it could explain the water on the floor when she was beating up her mother.

Ok, ok, but why did I said main weapon? Realistically, a single blow will not be enough to knock a person unconscious with an umbrella (At least with her umbrella, as it looks pretty cheap and mostly made of plastic). Also, the mother could easily see if Amane was approaching her with such a big item. So, what other weapon do we see in her MV? Well, simple, the taser... The object that the parent uses to punish Amane.

"Tasers (and stun guns) are designed to temporarily incapacitate a subject, not knock them unconscious"

Amane doesn't need to knock her victim unconscious. A simple blow with a taser will be enough to incapacitate her mother, shock her, being unable to process what is happening. After that, the more Amane hits her with the umbrella the more damage she is doing to her parent's body, to the point the victim will be unable to protect themselves.

Also, this thunder from at the end of her first MV:

The way she was swinging the wand in her first MV may resemble the hits with the umbrella.

The march

The march at the beginning is very organized, strict and serious. I believe this strictness is the way Amane perceived the mother's behavior. The color guard Amane with the blue flag is punished, because she messed up and broke the blue rule. It's interesting that the one who punishes in the white world is the drum major, the same Amane that kills the mother. I think this symbolise how Amane changed her views of her parent. At first, as the drum major, she is making sure that the march is going accordingly to the rules, as the "band director" (the mother and the cult) wants to.

However, once the mother hypocrisy is is brought to the surface, as she is also breaking rules, the drum major Amane no longer finds her worthy of being a band director. The march is no longer organized and strict, Amane no longer wants to listen to her mother.

Moreover, the reason why the members lost control is because they found their target, the reason why they were marching.

"However, there are blasphemers and silent by-standers/ Who would have it otherwise/ We must not give in to them/ they are the ones that should be judged/ With pure, unsullied body and soul/ Let us preach all that is true and right/"

Of course the lyrics can also imply Amane's hatred to the voices and Es, basically us, voters. However, if the mother broke the rules, the one that should have been an example for Amane, that means betrayal and disloyalty to the cult. As the parent never fully believed in the religion.

The colours of the confetti

At the beginning they are white and bland.

White -> symbolises purity, certainty, illumination and insight; it is associated with knowledge and learning

Considering what white symbolises, I believe the beginning of the MV is when Amane first started to learn the cult's teachings. She is still innocent and pure at this stage, as she never killed anyone and was not indoctrinated with the cult's rules. She is clumsy, inexperienced, but determinated to please her parents. (the fact that the drum major Amane gives punishment to the inexperienced member, might show that Amane is very hard on herself).

At the end, the confetti change colours in the mascots colours: pink, blue, yellow, green. Amane already learned everything that the cult has to offer, and is the moment when she decides to murder her mother.

The clouds

The clouds appear in both MVs, and they are really interesting!

First, I want to point out that in the first MV, Amane is shown together with the mascots on top of the clouds, after the murder, while in the second MV, Amane is under the clouds, before the murder. The clouds may represent, again, Amane's experince as a cult member, but also how she escaped from her mother's punishments. Notice how when she is under those clouds she gets hurt, but when she is at the top, she is happy, because there is nothing that can hurt her anymore? It can also represent that Amane found confort in this religion, because while it harmed her, it was also the reason for why she escaped from the abuse.

Rain

Rain -> symbolises unhappiness, rebirth, determination, cleansing

Rain represents one of the punishments that Amane received from her mother. Considering the symbolism, we can say that it represent Amane's determination to learn more and how the mother thinks that punishing her daughter, she is "erasing her sins".

Rainbow

It appears before every punishment. It can symbolise Amane's "rebirth", as she is considered to be redeemed after every punishment, the fact that Amane should be happy, because she is slowly becoming a better person.

Also, a reference to the flood and the Noah's ark: Noah was instructed to build an ark, and in accordance with God's instructions he took into the ark male and female specimens of all the world's species of animals, from which the stocks might be replenished. Consequently, according to this narrative, the entire surviving human race descended from Noah's three sons.

The reason why God wanted to flood the Earth was because there were to many bad people in the world.

Amane's shown drowning -> represents her mother's opinion on her -> a bad child for not following the rules

The hand

It's the last one, I promise!

This is mostly an observation...

Because of the hand placement, I think in both scenes the mother uses her left hand when she is punishing Amane. The second one is more obvious, than the first one. In the first one, because of the big thumb, it's very unlikely to be the right hand, at least I can't imagine how it would work. However, when Amane kills the mother the weapon is in her right hand. Not only when she is punishing the mother, but also when she is punishing "herself".

This detail can show the mother and Amane's opposing ideas and how Amane's mother was a hypocrite when it comes to the cult rules. Also, if we take the literal word "right" hand it could imply that Amane was respecting the cult beliefs, while the mother wasn't.

Symbolism of the right and left hand

"The right hand is often associated with dominance, strength, and good luck in various cultures. It symbolizes power, blessings, and positive actions, often considered the “Hand of God” in religious contexts."

"On the other hand, the left hand is linked to subtlety, intuition, and feminine energy. It may represent creativity and emotional expression but has faced negative connotations and taboos in some cultures."

Considering that Amane's mother was abusing Amane, the symbolic meaning that it is associated with evil forces makes sense. Also, i know that is pretty much clear that the hand belongs to the mother, but it's interesting that the left hand is associated with feminine energy.

The right hand symbolises Amane's kindness and good intentions by heliping the cat. In the context that she killed the mother, it can symbolise how she got rid of an evil person, who didn't actually respected the cult's beliefs, such why she is a hypocrite.

Da poética à estética: o que é dar sentido? | Análise da identidade visual do NCT

Caras queridas, o conteúdo de hoje toca em assuntos mais técnicos. Quis trazer um pouco da teoria para que vocês entendam o que é conceitualizar, o que é criar uma imagem e como isso acontece (ou não) no nosso querido NCT.

Vamo que bora?

Introdução: conceitos

Todo mundo já ouviu a palavra estética empregada nem que fosse em uma piada {aqui no Tumblr, então, é a casa do "aesthetic" e de uns anos para cá, o Tik Tok também virou}. Mas vocês sabem qual a origem da estética e da irmã siamesa dela, a poética?

Para explicar-lhes devemos retornar no tempo, na Grécia Antiga. Aristóteles estudou e classificou as artes literárias em diferentes poéticas, sendo elas: comédia, tragédia, epopeia e poesia lírica. Divisões que futuramente se tornariam os nossos conhecidos gêneros literários.

O que isso quer dizer?

A poética é como uma narrativa. É sobre o que se trata a história. Ela é aplicável em todas as artes, mesmo as não visuais. Hoje em dia talvez a gente chame a poética de "tema" ou "tema central".

A estética diz respeito aos elementos que aparecem para contar a história. No caso das artes visuais é mais fácil visualizarmos, mas eles estão presentes em todas as artes de uma forma geral. Por exemplo, a literatura se apresenta em forma estética de texto. A arquitetura de construções, e cada construção também segue uma linha estética dependendo do arquiteto, e assim por diante.

Como funciona na prática?

Para dar um exemplo bem prático, vou usar o NCT, obviamente.

Sabemos que existe uma história do NCT que envolve os sonhos, não é? Então, essa é a nossa narrativa, a nossa poética.

Já a estética fica por conta dos elementos que são usados para contar essa história. No caso, fica a critério de cada diretor que faz cada MV. Geralmente o NCT tem um visual "tecnológico", mais polido e etc., então essa se torna a sua estética.

Minha visão sobre o assunto

Como penso que foi/é o processo criativo em relação ao NCT e porque isso é importante?

Bem, vamos começar pelo básico: qualquer peça de arte tem poética e tem estética. Ou seja: existe uma história por trás dela e como ela irá ser contada.

Pensando no quesito prático ou lógico, a estética não é algo essencial na nossa vida como comer e dormir o é, por exemplo. Porém, é claro que como artista sempre vou defender a beleza! A beleza é e não é essencial. O que seria de nós sem as histórias que contamos? O que seria de nós sem a beleza e o romance? Já dizia o professor Keating: é isso que nos mantém vivos!

Então, sim, é importante pelo menos na arte que haja uma organização das coisas, que haja então beleza.

Identidade visual do NCT

Vou traçar um caminho do abstrato para o concreto. O ponto de partida é a música, o mais abstrato em quesitos visuais.

Como é a sonoridade do NCT? Isso vocês bem sabem! Eles trabalham com inspirações no metal pop, industrial pop {tudo isso fica escondido debaixo do guarda-chuva "edm", mas está lá}. As músicas dos Neos são conhecidas por serem barulhentas, terem sons incomuns, "sons de construção", essa seria a marca sonora deles.

Agora, como transformar um som em imagem? Por que é preciso uma imagem. Como serão distribuídos os conceitos sem ela? As capas dos álbuns, os MVs, os figurinos, tudo isso...

O que acredito ocorrer é que, dentro da SM não há uma equipe focada somente nisso. "Como não, Klim?" É fácil chegar a essa conclusão quando percebemos que, geralmente, de um comeback para outro as ideias não se conversam. Existe um fundinho de conceito, sim, não é tão bagunça. Mas também não existe uma identidade tão demarcada. A SM contrata um diretor diferente para cada MV. Ou seja, cada estúdio de filmagem fica encarregado de dar o seu toque no MV. O que tem de errado nisso? Não tem nada de errado nisso, porém, ocorrem certas quebras de narrativa, isso é inegável. "Quem conta um conto aumenta um ponto", especialmente se não há uma direção única para qual se está caminhando {isso é tudo minha opinião, não sei se é de fato assim que funciona, mas é o que parece para mim}.

Calma, nem tudo é derrota! É claro que existe, sim, uma linha de coerência no visual deles. Fica implícito que o NCT trabalha com os conceitos "punk." Vou deixar um infográfico abaixo, joguem no Google para entender mais a fundo:

O punk é uma estética distópica. Tudo a ver com a sonoridade deles, que é meio caótica por assim dizer. Você ouve uma música do NCT, você reconhece sons de metal, de vapor, de instrumentos que não são musicais. Ponham aí Kitchen Beat, Chain, Superhuman, SOS, ISTJ, Hands Up, Turn Back Time, Unbreakable... Que vocês vão perceber.

Acho genial que eles tragam esse visual, que se alinha diretamente com a música: aí vem a coerência.

Vou pegar alguns MV's de exemplo para que vocês vejam isso na prática:

Não são MV's irretocáveis ao meu ver. Meu olhar tem algumas críticas a respeito deles, mas aí entra também a questão de quanto $$$ se tem para fazer todo esse conteúdo visual. Enfim, acho que se a SM abraçasse essa ideia do punk e a levasse além, como a única linha a ser seguida, nós teríamos histórias melhores contadas e conseguiríamos identificar com mais facilidade o que é do NCT ou não, assim como conseguimos fazer com a música deles {a SM já faz isso muito bem com as aespa, não custava nada...}

Em cima do muro

Na análise do Wish, comentei sobre Favorite. Já tenho toda uma opinião formada sobre o álbum Sticker em si e Favorite vem de brinde nesse pacote. Quando foram lançados os teasers, fiquei muito feliz porque sempre quis ver o NCT 127 fazendo algo com conceito fantasioso, acadêmico ou vampiresco {maldita expectativa!}.

Favorite é aquilo que não é uma coisa nem outra, e tem um excesso de CGI que rouba a beleza do que poderia ser, transformando o conceito em algo bem infantil. Se o intuito era ser o Crepúsculo dos MV's de Kpop, então a missão foi cumprida com sucesso kkkk, mas noto que tivemos conteúdos extra/variedades que ficaram melhores que o MV em si. Vamos nem comentar a capa do álbum, né, meninas?

Outro MV terrível desculpemmm é o de Ridin'. Um dos meus comebacks favoritos do Dream, arruinado pelo visual desconexo. Tem referência nele? Tem, mas ele é tão mais ou menos. O que salva é aquela transição do Haechan estalando os dedos. É nítido que foi feito às pressas, dado o número de quadros em que os membros só estão lá sendo bonitões e não acrescentando algo à narrativa. Os efeitos péssimos para encher linguiça... "Klim, você está exagerando!" Meus bens, assistam We Go Up e Ridin' um seguido do outro e vocês vão entender exatamente o que estou falando.

Boom poderia entrar aí também, a falta de paleta de cores me incomoda {e nem vou tocar no assunto álbum físico que é TEnebroso} e Beatbox {apesar de eu amar porque é fofo}. Ainda bem que tivemos ISTJ para salvar a nação!

O WayV é sempre lindo e sempre entrega! Tirando, talvez, Kick Back, mas passo pano. Para mim é a unit que mais tem coerência visual.

Outra coisa que me incomoda, mas aí é questão >da minha poética< em particular, é o vazio. Ay-Yo é um bom exemplo. Ai, como me incomoda aqueles espaços vazios no MV! Apesar de, talvez a intenção ser essa mesmo. Sou muito do artesanal, queria ver muito mais cenas e objetos de cena construídos e não colocados em CGI. Mas é bem provável que a SM não esteja disposta a investir nessas coisas, porque isso demanda tempo. Entra na equação tempo x custo x qualidade:

Mas nós que trabalhamos com artes manuais bem sabemos que não é necessário tanto gasto para fazer algo bom de verdade, é mais necessário tempo e dedicação, afinal, a beleza vem dos detalhes.

Conclusão

O que eu espero que vocês entendam com esse post é que a estética (e a poética também) tem uma função importantíssima de dar sentido.

Se eu te perguntar qual a estética do NCT, você provavelmente vai olhar para os lados, analisar e demorar para chegar em uma conclusão. Além da cor verde neon e do Neobong, não existe algo mais palpável dentro do universo do NCT que o represente. Ok, talvez a 🌱, mas isso é uma piada interna criada pelo Mark, não é algo que tenha sido definido como conceito do grupo desde o início. Até mesmo o Neobong por vezes se torna uma incógnita: é um android? é um prédio? é um picolé de limão?

"Coisas tecnológicas" até podem se encaixar no quesito da estética, mas mesmo assim, existe uma falta de coerência.

É lógico que conceitos podem mudar. Ninguém é obrigado a seguir fazendo a mesma coisa da mesma forma por anos {apesar de isso ser o que traz autenticidade a algo}. Porém, contudo, entretanto e todavia, não acho que alguma equipe realmente tenha sentado junto para decidir "isso faz parte da estética do NCT, isso aqui não, os projetos irão seguir essa linha ou essa daqui".

Creio eu que a SM não tenha uma equipe dedicada a isso. Provavelmente eles apenas contratem estúdios de filmagem e cada diretor com sua equipe parte do zero ao criar um comeback.

É daí que surge o problema "mas a música título não tem nada a ver com o resto do álbum, nem o MV com os teasers, nem com a estética geral do projeto." Bem como não tem nada a ver com o comeback passado e o retrasado e há um ruído na forma como a história é contada.

Foram poucas às vezes que presenciei acontecer de forma coerente; bons exemplos são Glitch Mode e We Young, ambos álbuns que carregam músicas {não todas porque também não é necessário} que condizem com seus conceitos do início ao fim. Mas mesmo assim entre eles não há qualquer conexão {ou quase}, o que é triste.

A poética e a estética são capazes de dar sentido a algo.

Como eu disse, seria muito bom ver algo que é a marca registrada do NCT. Que bom que pelo menos com a música dá para dizer isso, mas falo visualmente. É muito legal que cada comeback seja diferente e tenha um novo conceito, mas dá para fazer isso também tendo uma estética definida. Que você bata o olho e diga "ah, isso aqui é NCT, sem sombra de dúvidas!", porque cria autenticidade e cria conexão com a história que é contada, e por conseguinte, com o público.

Olá! *surtos e gritos* vcs sabem como eu amo o jaehyun, não é? 👉👈 eu fiquei com muito medo de não gostar do álbum, mas pqp... simplesmente uma obra prima, e eu amo que em cada detalhe grita a identidade do jaehyun, sabe? Então, vamos lá...

Smoke: eu acho que a primeira coisa que precisa ser citada aqui é o refrão 🫦 o jeito que a voz dele fica baixa e arrastada......... eu posso sentir o hálito de álcool no meu pescoço porra. Eu amo como o MV tem personalidade! como parecem ter duas versões de jae, uma que causa o próprio sofrimento, e uma segunda versão que parece já ter superado e acha cômico o sofrimento da velha versão. Um dos cenários me chamou atenção, o que mostra essa queda, essa degradação (?) porque me lembrou uma das cenas de pobres criaturas, quando a bella vê pela primeira vez a maldade do mundo. É um cenário distopico e futurista.

Roses: essa aqui não tem o que falar, porque umas 100x por dia o meu cérebro tá roses roses roses. Menção honrosa pra um tuite que eu vi sobre como ele teve coragem de lançar essa com esse nome mesmo com toda a loucura que ele teria um caso a rosé kkkkk 👀

Flamin' hot Lemon: minha favorita!!!!! não sei explicar, mas a primeira vez que eu escutei essa eu achei suuper estranha (?) mas me conquistou, principalmente quando ele canta como um deus i love the way you taste

Dandelion: sim, jaehyun eu QUERO ser mãe dos seus filhos.

Completely: 😭😭😭😭😭 ele colocou essa no álbum pra mim porque sabe que eu amo uma tristezinha.

Easy: gente, eu não to louca, o jaehyun usou pobres criaturas como inspiração pra esse álbum...... o instrumental desse aqui estaria facilmente na sonoplastia do filme pqp

Can't get you: essa é a que mais grita JUNG JAEHYUN kkkkk e eu amei. achei sonoromente muito parecido com as músicas do JMSN.

Por último, o divo entregou elegância, estilo e, mais do que isso, ele participou ativamente de toda construção do álbum então eu dou muito valor a isso. Jaehyun você é um homem completo. E outra ☝️eu provei whisky recentemente e, apesar de não ter gostado, eu ainda assim definiria esse álbum como o mais saboroso e caro whisky. Aquele que leva muito tempo na maturação, mas vale a pena esperar cada segundo pra poder desgutar o sabor forte e autêntico, e o bálsamo tórrido e elegante.

Seperti judul, tulisan ini akan membahas lagu-lagu di album terbarunya my husband DAY6. Bagi yg tidak berminat bisa langsung di scroll kenceng aja ke atas 😂 karena akan bertabur kebucinan dan ke-cringe-an yg membuat eww 👍

Dimulai dari lagu utamanya, yg mana juga ada MV-nya, Welcome to The Show. Tipe-tipe sing-along song banget apalagi pas dibawain di konser. Juga tipe lagu yg langsung nemplok di otak once you listen to it (lagu daesik mana yg gak nempel hellow?). Liriknya dibuka dengan "I'm so moved by the stage, that I won't be alone any longer.". Yap, YoungK banget udah ini yg nulis. Betapa senangnya dia bisa balik nge-band lagi, nyanyi bareng bocah-bocah lagi karena selama masa hiatus kemaren he was going solo to every show. Wonpil juga ada proyek covering lagu. Dowun mungkin latihan vokal ya, karena sempet ngeluarin lagu duet bareng penyanyi cewek. Sungjin sibuk manjangin rambut 😂Eeem mungkin beliau ngasah skill gitar elektrik ya, karena dulu kan megang gitar akustik dan Jae yang megang elektrik. Karena Jae my beloved human udah bersolo karir, Sungjin dah tu yang mengisi posisi gitar elektrik sekarang.

Naaah menurut selera musik gw, lagu ini tu easy-listening, tapi kayak belum Day6 banget. Masih normal, masih familiar dan cenderung ngikutin pasar. Ya allah maap maap kita bukan expert di bagian musik yak, ini mah sepenilaian aing aja yg memang sotoy ✌ Untuk tau the real Day6 tu harus kudu wajib nyelamin B-side mereka gengs. Dari pengalaman gw, lagu-lagu B-side mereka lah yg bikin gw jadi My Day. Soooo kita lanjut ke next song~

Urutan kedua judulnya The Power of Love. Langsung inget lagunya Celine Dion gak tuuu CAUSE I'M YOOURR LAAAAAAYDEEEEEE~~ AND YUWA MA MEEEEEEN~~ Tapi yang versi daesik ini musiknya nge-beat wkwkw bikin lu ngangguk-ngangguk cem anjing dashboard. Vibe-nya ceria, energetik, full of positivity. Line yg ear-catching itu pas bagian reff "You need the power of love, power of love..." Yaa, as you can guess, lagunya berkisah tentang lu tu butuh kekuatan cinta dalam menjalani hidup, gak ada yg gak mungkin kalo kita belajar mencintai hidup. Gitu gitu lah, dengan kata-kata magisnya YoungK. Bisa banget dengerin lagu ini pas lagi butuh disemangatin, pas mau bangkit lagi tapi you got no friends around. Biarin lagu ini jadi temen lu 👍

Next lagu ini udah pernah gw singgung sedikit di post sebelumnya. Lagu yg wajib gw curigain karena tidak se-happy musiknya atau se-happy judulnya. Iyak the title is Happy. Daaaaan kecurigaan gw terbukti. AMBYAAAAARRR 😭😭😭 Ini lagu kedua terbanyak yg gw sumpah serapahi karena GILE LU YANGKE BIKIN LAGU LIRIKNYA KEK BANGKE??? Meski belum nemu ya yg nulis lirik lagu ini tu siapa tapiiii biasanya si YoungK yg paling banyak kontribusi ke lirik dari semua lagu mereka. Padahal ini tempo beat nya lebih cepat dari The Power of Love tapi tapi tapi, desperate banget heran??? Line yg terngiang-ngiang di otak gw tu pas Sungjin nyanyi "Will there be such a day? The day when I find my dream. The day when I'm so happy I could scream at the sky." Trus reff nya yang seolah-olah bilang "Boleh gak sih gue bahagia? Senyum, ketawa, gak perlu khawatir. Please help me, gue cuma terduduk diam dan rasanya pengen nangis. Plis bilang kalo gue boleh bahagia." Selama reff itu ada harmoni piano yg bikin lu makin tersayat-sayat.

Ah skip. Alert banget lagu ini. Cocok buat yg mau tumpah sekebon karena merasa useless, diam di tempat, gak berhak bahagia, dll. Tapi abis itu udah yak, dengerin The Power of Love biar semangat lagi. Atau For Me boleh juga tu, lagu lama mereka. Tentang embracing yourself biar bisa strong lagi 😉

NEEEXT kita move on dari yg sedih-sedih padahal judulnya happy. Eh bentaaaaar. Judul Happy itu jadi semacam topeng gak sih? Manusia kan topengnya begitu ya, di luar tampak senyum, fine, ketawa, eh dalemnya kapal titanic??? Wah jenius sih. Parah daeziiikkk

NEEEEXT beneran next kita ke yg judulnya Get The Hell Out. This one is the real rock vibe, yang dari liriknya pun juga gak ada yg mencurigakan kek tadi. Sumpah ya, lagu-lagu day6 yg begini tu ngingetin sama MCR sih, nyatu banget vibe-nyaaa. Reff nya nagih, sumpah. Mana dinyanyiin Sungjin lagi, bahasa inggris pula 👏👏👏 "How nice this world could be to me... kalo aja orang ini ni TENGGELAM ke inti Bumi wuahahaha." Wkwkwk ya emang begitu gaes, ceritanya tentang kebencian mendalam ke seseorang (yg mungkin mantan) sampe yauda sih lu ke laut aje sana jadi bangke duyung, jangan ganggu hidup gw lagi. Begitu. Asik sih tetep lagunya.

NEXT ya allah gw nulis begini aja sampe satu jam-an. Kita kasih part 2 yak kalo rame ehe. Mimin belum mandi juga ini. Insyaallah abis magrib kita lanjut yaa~ masih ada lagu yg bikin geleng-geleng soalnya ckck.
