#telling Young Marcus to value Hoffman because “she lost someone like her a long time ago”

Note
A favourite trope of mine is probably when a character is sent back in time, either to their past body or as themselves, with them and their past self as two different people
Like, an older, experienced Marcus somehow ending up in Vienna, just before the Storm of 1914, seeing her younger self, and Madam Hofmann...
Time is weird. And at that point, her very existence had altered it. So, why not alter it more?
So, to her, she's trying to help show these two around Vienna and prevent Heinrich from... being himself,
While to Marcus and Greta, they've met 'Madam Gretel', a Foundation Investigator. Or, so it seems....
MADAM GRETEL?!
Well, let me think about this possible AU you've got in your hands.
Since time is reversing itself all the way, Marcus wouldn't find it unusual to be sent back to the same era, as it has happened twice already. However, to appear back in Vienna all those years ago and see her mentor alive by her side is something she never saw as possible.
It's been years, many years, and she's gotten stronger, not so much in the social department but certainly in other departments.
Nos back in Vienna with her young, naive self and her mentor telling her everything she needs to know about the mission, she knows just what to do.
Stop Heinrich, prevent Isolde from joining the Manus and keep Madam Hoffman alive.
Could it change the course of time? Yes. How would it go then? Had she stopped the storm in 1914 all those years ago, the golden island would be thriving? Would Madam Lucy have gotten the answer to the storm immunity incantation?
She wants to be selfish for a moment, to keep her beloved mentor alive and by her side, something she had never been able to enjoy until it was too late.
So she did it, she mixed up with Hoffman and Marcus as a foundation investigator of a higher range than young Marcus, Gretel.
And to the surprise of the two other investigators, she seems to have a deep knowledge of what will happen next. From Mr. Karl to Isolde's seizure. Everything.
And it's at this moment that both, Young Marcus and Madam Hoffman start to suspect that, maybe, something is not right with Gretel.
