Medical Telepresence Robots: Understanding Market Size, Share, and Growth Trajectories
The global medical telepresence robots market size is expected to reach USD 224.9 million by 2030, registering a CAGR of 18.7% from 2024 to 2030, according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. In the healthcare sector, telepresence robots assist in several tasks, such as remote visiting, patient monitoring, delivering food and medicines, connecting to physicians and nurses for medical assistance, and reminding patients to take medicines on time. For example, Amy Robotics offers AMY A1, a Customizable Telepresence Robot used in a hospital environment.
Furthermore, the growth of the market is attributed to the introduction of technologically advanced products, the rise in the adoption of telepresence robots, and growing investment in the healthcare sector. For instance, in January 2022, Intuitive India introduced Intuitive Telepresence (ITP), a remote observation technology for surgical cases. The ITP uses its proprietary technology that permits real-time exchange of audio and video between the operating surgeon and remote observer. This HIPPA-compliant technology offers a safe and secure platform for distance learning on the da Vinci Robotic platform.

My first experience with telepresence robots
I would have never thought that my life would ever be somehow connected with technology world, because I’ve always had humanitarian turn of mind, I’ve never been interested in science or technology.
However, now my work is connected with telepresence robots. I’ve been engaged in this field not so long, just about 2,5 months, but have already plunged into it. I've got acquainted with such telepresence robots as Double, Ohmni, Beam and BotEyes, found out about their features and differences between them, read many articles about them.
The first robot I tried to control was BotEyes. I just followed the link https://boteyes.com and clicked on "Test Drive" button and following the simple instructions connected to the robot. I used the circle in the right side of the window for the robot movement control. After finishing the test drive, I put the robot to the dock station. It is good that there is an autodocking button, you just need to bring the robot close enough to the docking station (for about 1 meter in front of the robot) and press the "Docking" button.
It was unusual experience for me, but amazing at same time. For me, it was a bit difficult to control the robot, maybe because of having no experience. It's like driving a car or controlling a remote control toy, I think (I’ve never tried it too).
I realized that if you really want to understand what a telepresence robot is, you have to try a test drive! As it is said "A picture is worth a thousand words". So, you may start testing telepresence robots with BotEyes on their official website https://boteyes.com, and then try a test drive of other telepresence robots, and after that decide which one you like most.
