@storyweaverofgondor’s cats-pril day 6 - tribe. It is very difficult to write a fic which includes every member of the Cats characters while also keeping it short, but I think I did alright! Also on Ao3 here.
Old Deuteronomy sat on his tyre, looking out over the Junkyard. It was a rare occasion that every single member of the tribe was there at the one time; it only really happened when the Jellicle Ball rolled around. It was the morning after the most recent one, and the sun was bright and warm overhead. Gus had ascended to the Heaviside Layer, and his own son had danced a pas-de-deux and been accepted by the Everlasting Cat.
Said son was currently loafing off to the side, contentedly watching the goings-on, his fluffy tail wrapped tightly around a barely-visible ball of black fur. Mistoffelees – his boy’s new mate. He had almost wept with joy when Tugger had come to ask for his permission to dance a pas-de-deux, to present himself and Mistoffelees to the Everlasting Cat as mates. He had allowed it, of course, it had been obvious from the get go that this would happen. Thankfully, no one had needed rescuing via teleportation this year, but Mistoffelees had still used a fair bit of magic in setting up the night’s protective barriers, and then managing all the lights, as well as fantastical displays for the Kittens, so it was no surprise that he was still curled in a ball fast asleep, warmed by the sun and Tugger’s fur.
His other son, Munkustrap, was sitting by his own mate, Demeter, watching their Kitten, Jemima. Old Deuteronomy bit back a chuckle. Munkustrap was desperately trying to pretend like he wasn’t falling asleep sitting up, to the amusement of Demeter, who kept brushing him with her tail and making him jump when his eyelids fluttered. He would tell him later to get some rest, although he doubted Demeter wouldn’t beat him to it. His boy always seemed to forget he needed sleep.
His grandbaby Jemima was playing some sort of rough and tumble game with the other Kittens. It looked like they were all trying to do Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer’s double-cartwheel move, but only George and Electra seemed to be having any luck in recreating it at all. Tumblebrutus, Pouncival, Jemima, and Etcetera were in a tangled heap on the floor, giggling like mad. Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer themselves seemed not to be involved in this. Rumpleteazer was curled into Skimbleshanks’ side and dozing. It made him glad to see; the calico twins had adopted Skimbleshanks as a sort of father figure, and he had really helped them find their place in the Junkyard. Mungojerrie, on the other paw, was over on top of the oven, chatting animatedly to Coricopat. Old Deuteronomy suppressed a smile at the sight – the normally-serene Coricopat looked quite delighted by the interaction. Even if those two couldn’t sense it yet, he got the feeling they’d be seeing another pas-de-deux soon.
Tantomile, less fond of excessive chatter, was lounging comfortably in the shade next to Cassandra and Tica. From a distance, Old Deuteronomy couldn’t tell whether they were actually talking, or just enjoying each others’ quiet disposition.
Victoria and Plato, last year’s mated pair, seemed to be doing the bulk of keeping an eye on the Kittens, when they could take their eyes off of each other, that was. Thankfully, Bombalurina was also nearby, one eye on them, one on the rest of the adults, who were surrounding Jellylorum and Asparagus.
Jellylorum herself was slightly puffy-eyed, but looked to be trying to smile. Asparagus kept zoning out from where he was tucked into his partner Skimbleshanks’ other side. Old Deuteronomy sympathised, for as much as a loved one being the Jellicle Choice was an honour, it could be hard for those left behind, and Jellylorum and Asparagus, as well as being his daughter and son, had been Gus’ main caretakers this past year. To keep them company, Bustopher Jones had opted to stay for a few days, and was making quiet conversation. Alonzo and Jennyanydots had taken up position on either side of Jellylorum. Jennyanydots was her partner, and Alonzo looked up to her almost as a mother.
Their father was gone, but they were surrounded by their tribe now, supported by their extended family who would be there through thick and thin. Old Deuteronomy could not be more proud of his tribe, his family.

Hi there! Thanks for the warm welcome on my post about Cats 1998 brainrot/background moments. The Mistoffelees gif is fantastic!
I was wondering if you would share your favorite background moment from the movie that you think I should watch for, and any head canon you associate with it? Just if you feel like it, no pressure!
Aaäaheehee, you're so sweet! ♥♥
And ügh I don't even know where to begin; Cats in general lives off its background moments, especially since almost all of the cats are efficiently ensemble characters! I will try and list some, anyway. :)
Firstly: basically all of Pekes and Pollicles. Here a few hand-picked screenshots:
Tumblr media
(sneakily pulling up arm warmers)
Tumblr media
(Jemima forgetting which way is up)
Tumblr media
(Plato confidently walking into the wrong direction and needing uh.. re-directing through Alonzo)
Tumblr media
(Mungojerrie and Coricopat are so very good dogs. Pouncival has acquired a rifle, apparently)
Tumblr media
(Seriously. He's so into it)
Tumblr media
(This isn't even a background moment, but I LOVE how all the cats have their "default stance". Skimbleshanks with his orderly folded paws, Mistoffelees with his performative tendu, Cassandra with her aloof cross-legged position, Munkustrap with his legs 509403 meters apart... we love to see it)
Also, always keep your eyes on Pouncival in the background, because the editing of the 98 movie is.. questionable at many parts, which causes him to teleport around quite a lot XD
Also worth staring at a look: the Bombademestrap action on the tire during Mr. Mistoffelees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Demeter is surrounded by love and so, so happy ;U; ♥♥♥ Bombalurina is trying to set up a world record in smiling and she's succeeding. Munkustrap is trying very hard to catch the sparkles.
All of the Mr. Mistoffelees background action is extremely fun to look at, tbh.
Tumblr media
They observe.
I've reached the picture limit, so I won't prattle on, but those are some examples I love to look at. The 98 cast is just so cat-ty. <3 I also just noticed that I haven't really talked about any headcanons I have for those moments, but I don't really have any for the ones I chose apart from the obvious sjdkfjdksf Demebombastrap is an extremely underrated throuple, though. ♥♥♥

Pouncival for the character ask!
First impression
Ok so it's hard to articulate but I basically saw him how I now see Tumblebrutus 😂 So like, a little edgy, a little hormonal. A bit of a projection character from time to time but only for venting purposes really
Impression now
My???? Beloved???? More of a projection character alsiudhlfiuh but also just. More of a character in general? I don't personally hold the "Henchcats are double agents" hc anymore so that specific edginess is gone now. I think he's the Baby of his family/the tribe, to an extent; and as he's growing up he wants to start being grownup but he ALSO still wants to be Babey and the leniency that affords.
Basically my current understanding and developing of him happened alongside my revisiting Skimble so while also fleshed out apart from him a lot of my looking at him is also very much informed by my hcs for their relationship.
Also he has ADHD bc I have ADHD and I say so uwu
Favorite moment
UGH that's HARD but...in 1998...Either the part in gumbie cat that we don't really get to see where he's pouting in the Oven bc i recently noticed Skimble over on the car telling him to Get Out Of The Oven, Young Man, OR just. All of him and Skimble during Bustopher Jones.
Actually wait yeah I tend to really enjoy his shenanigans in Bustopher Jones so we'll go with that.
Idea for a story
which one do you want?? liaushdf
For specifically 1998-based, how little actual baby pounce grew up and developed teleporting powers+how skimble his guardian(s) handle the fact that he can be gone in a moment and who knows where he wound up.
For TOTC!AU, a big thing I have for him as a child before/just after entering Skimble's life is that he works as a ratcatcher but doesn't really. Get what happens to the rats after he exchanges them for his pay. So of course once he starts living with Skimble and co. one of the first things he and Etcetera do is go and get their own secret pet rat.
Unpopular opinion
What we saw of Jal in costume and semi in character from Asia Tour 2020 bows can absolutely coexist with the more immature, playful interpretations in most bootlegs. We already know 1998's Pounce banged Bomba while still being Babey; you can be childish in day to day life without being an actual child.
Favorite relationship
I mean really my favorite relationship is my father-son hc for him and Skimble alsiduhfsd like. They care about each other so much and Skimble found him after he loses Teazer (and possibly Jerrie sometimes) and before he gets her back so he's always been like. Protective and doting on Pounce, who of course laps this up. And they're just. Very sweet. I think they have a v close relationship.
For ships, I mean. Platopounce is a really cute one, and Munkupounce is...well it is one that I like to draw, and it's particularly useful for the hcs i like to explore abt Pounce trying to keep a nice, simple closeness with his dad where there's no checking in abt intimate goings-on, vs the fact that, well. he is having intimate goings-on and will only talk abt it with his peers, who aren't necessarily going to give the best advice for this or that concern.
Favorite headcanon
HE GETS ALONG REALLY WELL WITH GUS!!! HE CONSIDERS GUS HIS GRANDPA AND ONE OF HIS BEST FRIENDS!!! HE ALWAYS LISTENS TO THE SAME SEVEN STORIES LIKE HE'S HEARING THEM NOW FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!

Mistoffelees and kittens headcanons. I think this is quite unpopular but I wanted to talk about it a little
He will never ever ever have kittens
Big no
Far too loud, messy and needy for him
The sound of a baby crying is one of the worst sounds for him (it makes him want to claw his ears off) his immediate instinct is to teleport far away from that awful noise
He's not great to have around if you have a tiny kitten. He asks slightly strange things and doesnt notice if he's being rude about kittens
Absolutely terrified if he asked to hold one (he doesnt understand why people think everyone wants to hold a bady and "PLEASE DONT PUKE ON ME!!")
But he overly cares about their safety. He may never want a kitten but he's going to make damn sure nobody else ever has a kitten they cant or wont look after properly. He wants every kitten to have a good and loving home, but that home just wont be with him
Though playing with kittens is a bit different
He actually kind of likes it. He loves watching their eyes light up when they see his sparkles, watching them try to catch the sparkles and trying to learn his dance moves
He has a soft spot for Pouncival in particular as he also has autism, so he feels a little bit more of a connection with him and tries a more often to teach him to dance
He holds lessons where he teaches kittens how to speak sign language (but he needs to have another cat with him to help)
But as soon as those kittens need proper parental care, he's off to grab their parents or someone who can act like it
He talks to kittens like he does to adults and doesnt understand how to talk to kittens
This leads to not the kind of conversations most adults would normally have with a child
In a human au he would definitely have a pet chinchilla (which Tugger's afraid of XD)

My Mistoffelees Headcanons:
Tumblr media
He still has a very large existing family—his father Cat Morgan, his mother Ozma, his maternal uncle Bustopher Jones, his paternal aunts and uncles Marina, Mamrotka, Ramses, Wiskuscat, and Victor; and his seven younger siblings Mystic, Sloeberry, Brew, Tempest, Druid, Domino, and Drosslmeyer. (@amethyst-labyrinth)
He discovered that he was really a tomcat and not a queen when he was very young, and he went very far out of his way even with his underdeveloped magic to make his body suit how he truly felt.  Morgan and Ozma were nothing but supportive.
Skimbleshanks is also a father figure for him, since he helped look after him when Cat Morgan was at sea and taught him everything he knows about dancing.  As a way to pay that kindness forward, Misto taught Pouncival to dance.
He spends a lot of time at a London synagogue where his good friend Matzo lives–they like to watch from the rafters. (@tantomiles)
Victoria is his adopted sister—he was the first cat to find her after she was abandoned, and the two remained thick as thieves ever since.
He’s very good friends with Pouncival, Plato and Tumblebrutus, even if he sometimes acts like he’s far too mature for their antics.  He might give Plato crap sometimes, but only because he wants him to treat Victoria right—if he doesn’t, he’ll zap his tail off.
The queens in the Tribe treat him as just “one of the girls”, and he honestly loves it.  He adores Jemima, Rumpleteazer, Etcetera, Cassandra, and Electra as very dear friends and will even hang out in Jenyanydots and Jellylorum’s sewing circle.
Munkustrap was his closet key–he grew up with a huge crush on him and, even after he got over it, half-jokingly credits him with helping him realize he was gay.  He also gets a laugh out of the irony of now courting Munkustrap’s brother.
He tends to crack really terrible jokes when he’s anxious as a way of calming himself.  The more jokes he’s making, the more dire the situation is.  When he’s extremely stressed out, he’ll go almost completely nonverbal.
He has very sensitive hearing to the point where he can get sensory overload, so he focuses on doing something with his paws to drown it out when it gets bad.  Even if all he can do is mess with his head fur or flap them against his sides, it helps him stay grounded.
His owner was a young boy named Anthony, the son of a respected rabbi whose own father owned Bustopher Jones and Ozma. Anthony adored Misto and tried to take him everywhere—even smuggling him into his schoolbag one morning—but when the war broke out, his parents tried to urge him to have Misto put to sleep. Luckily his grandfather stepped in and said that wouldn’t be necessary since there was more than enough room for him with Bustopher farther downtown.  Both cat and boy have never been so relieved in their lives.
His human name was Spaghetti… something Tugger never loses an opportunity to tease him about.
He’s Bustopher’s self-appointed seeing eye cat, and it’s a job he takes incredibly seriously.  He’s very proud to be the Cat About Town’s nephew, and he helps see to it that he’s treated with due respect and affection.
He has a habit of acting like he’s Above It All at times and makes a point to ingratiate himself with the older, more “respectable” cats, but it’s only because he desperately wants to be taken seriously on his own merits.  His mischeivous, kittenish side always wins out, and he’s never too busy for his loved ones.
Sometimes it’s hard, but he’s an eternal optimist who always tries to keep a positive view on the world and see the best in other cats.
His old magician jacket used to be covered in shiny silver and pearly buttons, but it had to be given up as scrap cloth for the war effort… so he made a new one himself with Jenyanydots’s help, covered in the sparkles from his own magic.
He also used to need a wand (which was really a small pencil) to perform his magic, but as he’s gotten more disciplined and confident, he’s abandoned the wand and just uses his bare paws.  They can get blistered and burned if he overexerts himself, but he doesn’t mind too much.
He loves human tea and has a small hoard of tea bags.
He also loves human movies–whenever the cinema across town is playing something good, he and Tugger will sneak in and make a date out of it.
Tantomile and Coricopat were his magic mentors.  He’s a little intimidated by them, but he still greatly values their help and advice.
He and Gilbert like to play pranks on each other–usually Misto has the upper hand because of his magic, but Gilbert still finds creative ways to get back at him.
Another one of his good friends is Torelai, who has a very different perspective on magic since she was once a human witch.  He learned a lot from her way of seeing things, and the two have a very close brother-sister relationship. (@bluetortoist)
He sleeps either sprawled out halfway elegantly, curled up with his tail over his chin, or sitting up in a dark enough corner that only his eyes are visible.
He’s a very talented contortionist and can twist his body into all kinds of positions without any discomfort.
He doesn’t wear his little hat as much anymore, but it functions as his own personal Bag of Holding that’s magically bigger on the inside.  Anything anyone could ask for, he can pull it out of there. (@and-magical-cats)
After Morgan and his little siblings went back out to sea for their own safety, Misto was devastated and constantly worried about them.  When he heard seven small distress cries during one of his magic lessons, he instinctively reacted with a teleportation spell… only to find that the seven kittens in his hat were not, in fact, his siblings.  Still, they had obviously escaped some kind of danger, and they needed him, so he decided to keep them to raise himself.  Their names are Cyrano, Anaminta, Nehemia, Aloysius, Mandragora, Chryseis, and Kiscica.
That hat trick made him realize that he could do something similar for couples in the Tribe who couldn’t have their own kittens.  All he would need was a tuft of each parent’s fur and some blood for genetic bonding, and he would summon a kitten who looked like them.
Along with his pyrokinetic and telekinetic powers, he’s also a developing medium.  He’s been talking to ghosts since he was a kitten–mostly old pirate friends of his father’s–and it’s something he and Jemima have bonded over.  Along with their friends and fellow mediums Ephraim and Hélène , hey’ll take field trips out to the Hyde Park cemetery on clearer nights and try to find any ghosts they can talk to there. (@bullseyegames, @amethyst-labyrinth)
Tugger and Mungojerrie are both his mates… and he’s made the joke at his own expense that it wasn’t enough for him to be gay, but he’s exclusively attracted to complete morons.  But he still adores them both.
In addition to Misto’s seven hat kittens (whom he is a very attentive “Papa” for), he and Tugger adopt Hestia (@uppastthejelliclemoon), Sekhmet, Ares (@dcjelliclequeen33), Castalia, Moria, Latinus (@thederpyllamaoflove), and Primadonna (@morbidlymary on Instagram).  He also took in Hesita’s ghost siblings–Hades, Thetis, Iris, and Apollo–and is one of the few cats who can really see them. (@uppastthejelliclemoon)
He eventually takes over Munkustrap’s position as the master of ceremonies for the Jellicle Ball.

Flaws of Cats 1998
Cats 1998 is my favorite version of the show and it’s basically designed to be the most watchable version, so it tends to be the favorite of many. But, like every production, it’s not perfect, so I’ve decided to gather a list of imperfections. Some of these are objective problems with how something was done, while others are nitpicks or entirely about personal preference.
I’ll start of with the disclaimer that I love this version, I love the cast, and I don’t think anyone did a downright bad job. Most of the Bad Stuff is less Bad and more Could Be Better.
Anyway...
The continuity editing is comically bad. *Insert teleporting Pouncival comment here*
1998 Tumblebrutus is, and I’m sorry to say this, underwhelming. He’s not bad, and Broadway-based productions give the character more to do than London-based productions like this one, leaving him at a disadvantage, but compared to Pouncival, Plato, and even George, he often feels like “the other boy”. Out of the trio of Plato, Pouncival, and Tumblebrutus, both Bryn Walters and Karl Morgan had played their roles before, while Fergus Logan had not and you can tell. He didn’t seem comfortable with the role. His voice in Jellicle Songs is much deeper than it is later on, so he was experimenting with how the character’s voice should sound between these scenes, meaning that he was probably still figuring the character out throughout filming. It’s an opening night performance, rehearsed but not quite perfected yet, and there was really no time to fix that.
That said, Fergus nails the physical part of the role. He can tumble like a Tumblebrutus should and his ballet during the Jellicle Ball is just as good as Jacob Brent’s is. According to Jacob, Fergus actually had the timing right for the dance while he was slightly off. Fergus is generally at his best here when he’s doing something he would’ve been doing as Mistoffelees on stage.
Disclaimer: Fergus Logan was not the only actor playing a character he’d never played before and these sorts of problems could apply to anyone in this situation, but this is the example I found to be the most noticeable.
Speaking of Tumblebrutus at the Jellicle Ball, the decision to give Tumblebrutus Pouncival’s track during the ball was a bit inconsistent. During the Boys Jump segment, Pouncival has his usual track, though it’s a Broadway-based version of the track. In London-based productions, Mistoffelees and Carbucketty/Pouncival usually have opposite roles in this part. Tumblebrutus comes out in what I usually see as Mungojerrie’s entrance. Then the tom kittens sort of switch out for the Boys Ballet. Having Tumblebrutus as Pouncival during the Cartwheels actually removed Tumblebrutus’ usual track in that segment. They should’ve either had Pouncival do his usual thing here, swapped the tracks completely, or had someone else, possibly Mungojerrie, cover Tumble’s track.
Exotica. They at least could’ve kept her in the ensemble consistently. Or kept a consistent character design. Or given her a better name.
Macavity’s design is too monstrous. It’s established that multiple queens, despite hating him, are attracted to him, so he should have at least a few qualities that the audience could see as attractive, in order for this to make sense. But he’s a big furball who lacks the more human face that the other cats have. He looks and acts like the monster that he is, so Demeter and Bomba’s thing for him, and him being described as “outwardly respectable” don’t quite make sense. He’s supposed to be unkempt and somewhat feral-looking, but they went too far with it.
Lastly, this is not a flaw as much as a personal preference for something other productions have done, but this one didn’t. When it comes to the Mr. Mistoffelees number, there’s a specific version of their dynamic that best highlights Misto’s character development. Throughout the number, though Misto is the center of attention, Tugger is the instigator. When things aren’t quite working, Misto turns to him. Tugger narrates everything.
Towards the end of the number, as Misto gets to work bringing back Old Deuteronomy, he directs a few other cats on how to help him, but he never directs Tugger. He interacts with Tugger as if he’s the one in control here. This is why Tugger can’t be his assistant in the trick. But, after bringing Old Deuteronomy back, Misto has confidence and has truly come of age.
In some productions, this is when he realizes that this is his musical number and he can decide how it goes, so he whispers to Tugger how he wants the number to end. The words Tugger says at the end of the song are at least partially Misto’s suggestion. He has enough confidence and authority to take charge of the number and Tugger does what he asks. He probably would’ve done that before, but Misto lacked the sense of confidence to try.
If you want to see a good example of this, look at the German Tent Tour.
The 1998 production has Tugger come up with the finale by himself, so the sense that Misto has come into his own as an adult isn’t quite as strong as it could be.
Also, they could’ve not removed every bit of choreography where Tugger and Misto touch. That was a bit lame of them.

1998 Film Jemima Rewatch Part Four
Unlike the last entry, there isn’t really a theme here, so let’s just get started:
Tumblr media
Jemima actually meets with the Psychic Twins before The Moments of Happiness. They’ll work together to deliver Old Deuteronomy’s message to the crowd and I’m guessing the Psychic Twins know that Jemima is going to be the voice here and might be telling her what to expect.
Tumblr media
When the moment comes, the twins help her up, while she appears to be in a trance. For whatever reason, Old Deuteronomy speaks through her hear. Since the lyrics of The Moments of Happiness are very philosophical and don’t follow a melody well, as if they were thought up on the spot, Jemima’s role is to phrase what Old Deuteronomy was trying to say in a way that the others can understand.
Tumblr media
Though Jemima looks like she’s in a trance before she starts singing, she doesn’t while she’s singing. But, in this particular moment, these lyrics of Memory aren’t really Jemima’s words and honestly, though they flow a bit better, they’re no clearer than The Moments of Happiness. It isn’t until Grizabella sings literally the exact same lyrics later on that it begins to make sense.
Tumblr media
And then Jemima and the twins collapse once the magic/telepathy releases them. They recover quickly.
Tumblr media
Everyone repeats that verse of Memory, contemplating, trying to figure out what it means. There are close-ups of multiple characters and you can see different levels of understanding. The twins don’t get it yet. Jemima might.
Tumblr media
For Gus the Theatre Cat, Jemima’s back on Old Deuteronomy’s throne. She’s right next to Munkustrap even! Also, notice how Pouncival is on Jemima’s other side.
Tumblr media
This picture has no point other than Jemima cuddling Old Deuteronomy is adorable.
Tumblr media
Remember what I said about Pouncival. Well, now Demeter’s where he was and he’s on top of the car. He teleports back and forth throughout the scene and once you notice it, it’s hard to ignore, as far as continuity errors go.
Tumblr media
When Gus breaks down and Jellylorum leads him away, Jemima gets up to follow Old Deuteronomy when he’s upset by it. I think she’s hugging him to help him feel better.
Tumblr media
But, Old Deuteronomy has an idea for how to lighten the mood and make everyone feel better. He starts up Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat. Jemima is the first to join in, immediately happy.
Also, this is the first time I’ve covered this number in a rewatch with a character I can actually follow, since both Misto and Demeter pretty much disappear for this part.
Tumblr media
This number is pure fun without anything complicated happening. Here’s Jemima and Etcetera getting busted for talking while “the folk were very quiet”.
Tumblr media
I’m still not over being able to watch this number and actually see the character I’m supposed to be following. She gets to sit up front, right behind Tumblebrutus and his light.
Tumblr media
But fun time ends pretty quickly. You know, since I’ve headcanoned Macavity as Jemima’s father, this is probably the first time she ever meets her dad. Not like anyone would actually let her know that.
Tumblr media
In fact, she probably sees Skimble as her dad. He’s the adult you see parenting her the most. I’m still not sure about Etcetera’s parents, but Skimble is the dad to any kitten who needs one at any given time. This appears to be one of those times.
Tumblr media
This is the first we see Jemima after she learns that the threat is Macavity. She knows to be very afraid. Even Etcetera knows to be afraid for a few seconds.
Tumblr media
I’m pretty sure that’s Jemima clinging to Munkustrap’s leg. The blinding flash makes it hard to tell.
Tumblr media
But we’re quickly back to Skimbledad. Jemima ducks and covers as instructed while Etcetera is a bit too brave for her own good. I can’t tell who it is behind her, trying to pull her back like “Look, I know you have white, orange, and black stripes, but you’re not actually a tiger cub!”
Normally, it’s Jemima’s job to calm down Etcetera, but ducking and covering is probably the best move, to be honest.
During Macavity’s song, Jemima stays mostly out of the way, so I don’t have any more good pictures for this part.

Ships You Can Ship in Cats 1998 Part 4: Electra, Etcetera, and George
It’s been a while since I did one of these, but I’m back now.
Usual Stuff/Warnings:
1. Ships involving Alonzo, Asparagus, Bombalurina, Bustopher, Cassandra, Coricopat, and Demeter were covered in previous parts and won’t be repeated here.
2. Sensitive pairings are present, because this series covers literally everything and I don’t give a fuck.
3. I don’t ship all or even most of these pairings. This is about things it would hypothetically make sense for someone to ship.
4. It’s about shipping, so sex jokes will be made.
We begin with Electra.
Tumblr media
1. Electra/Etcetera
We begin with her as well! These two are often seen together. Victoria and Jemima are supposed to be besties, so the other two queen kittens form another bestie pair.
Here they are realizing that they’re in trouble:
Tumblr media
2. Electra/Mistoffelees
I loathe to ship Misto with any woman, but they pair up for a bit at the Jellicle Ball, because all the pairings during the Mating Dance/Orgy are m/f, at least in most versions, this one included. Maybe they only paired up because they were required to find a partner of the opposite sex.
Tumblr media
Misto doesn’t look very comfortable here, but it’s more that he’s lying in and x shape with his limbs stretched in all directions. This is not a natural position for sex, nor for relaxation.
3. Electra/Rumpleteazer
These two bond when Macavity attacks and they huddle together during the Macavity Fight.
Tumblr media
Etcetera Time!
Tumblr media
1. Etcetera/George
Another Mating Dance/Orgy pair, though it appears a bit one-sided. Etcetera stretches against a wall, clearly trying to get someone’s attention, and George, who was sitting next to her, approaches. But, instead of anything resembling sex or cuddles, we get this:
Tumblr media
Etcetera creates an arch with her back and George climbs under her and pops up on the other side. If his face was visible, he’d :D. I’m sure of it. Cettie’s like “Notice me!” and George’s like “Neat, a tunnel!”
George, you dumbass.
2. Etcetera/Plato
These two hang out during Tugger’s number, though they both seem more interested in Tugger than each other. Still, they do dance together:
Tumblr media
All the boys do a similar move later, but look how these two are positioned. Etcetera is straddling Plato’s leg!
3. Etcetera/Tugger
Speaking of Tugger’s number...
Tumblr media
Yeah, everyone’s into Tugger, but very few of them get singled out during the number and Etcetera is one of them. You might notice a red dot on this picture. That’s a tiny line measuring the distance between Tugger’s crotch and Etcetera’s nose. Though he might not be as crazy about her as she is about him, Tugger’s down for anything, so why not.
Lastly, George:
Tumblr media
There’s been some overlap between all our featured characters in this one! But, George has been covered enough elsewhere that we’ve only got two more ships to point out, and neither one entirely works, imo.
1. George/Old Deuteronomy

2. George/Pouncival

And that’s about it for this entry! Next time, we’ll switch from kittens some of the older characters and go over ships for Grizabella, Gus, and Jellylorum.
