Title: The Art of (Mis)Communication Rated: M Length: 7.5k Summary: To help get Angel's mind off of a rough day at work, Cherri brings over a game for the hotel crew to play, best described as “the beautiful bastard child of Telephone and Pictionary.” It's a big crowd for game night with Cherri around and Rosie taking up Alastor's standing invitation to come join in the fun! With plenty of booze and snacks and a wide range of artistic skill levels, there's quite a lot of room for hilarity…and for conflict. No real harm in a little friendly headbutting, though, right? As long as nobody catches an antler….

Hello everyone! I'll be making a Gartic Phone lobby for American Arcadia fans this weekend!
For those who don't know what Gartic Phone is, it's basically a mix of pictionary and broken telephone, where you must write a drawing prompt, that will be passed to someone who will draw that prompt, and it will be passed to another person who will write another prompt guessing what the drawing is about, and the cycle continues!
We'll be playing two times, one this Saturday (January 20th) at 5PM and one on Sunday (January 21th) at 8AM (GMT+3 Timezone). You don't have to join both, it's just to make it accessible to everyone to play atleast once.
I plan to organize this on Discord so please send me your Discord name if you're interested or message me in there (same name Cetrouz)! Discord is necessary mostly so I can gather the people that can play and contact them, voice calling isn't necessary (but those who like it can join in if they want to).
With that said, I hope to see you guys there~

Would any mutuals be interested in playing gartic phone together Friday or Saturday? 👀 trying to gather a few people, it's like pictionary and telephone smooshed together basically. We'd probably have mics off and communicate through a discord chatroom

in-browser multiplayer games
these are some games i like playing with my friends, feel free to leave additions in the replies =3 all of these games are accessible through a desktop/mobile browser, although i don’t know how many of them would work on mobile.
tough love arena: a super fun beta fighter! you can play rolling 1v1 matches in lobbies of up to 8 people
gartic phone: kinda like the game telephone, but for drawings instead!
skribbl.io / sketchful.io: pictionary! you can add your own prompts.
draw battle: kinda skribbl/sketchful but team versus team!
frantic fanfic: put in your own characters and work together to make fanfics! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
giddio: buncha board and table games!
tagpro: topdown tag game!
codenames: use teamwork and hints to guess your team’s code names!
town of salem: mafia type game-- might be difficult to play nowadays
mafia.gg: ever played TOS or any mafia game? this is a simple text-based form of it! really fun for roleplaying within the game.
one night ultimate werewolf: another social deduction game!
spyfall: game works better in call- figure out who the spy among you is by asking questions about your special location!
pokemon showdown: make a poketeam and play matches!
tetr.io: online tetris! kinda functions like tetris99.
there are a LOT of cards against humanity clones, like pretend you’re xyzzy or picturecards... i haven’t tried a lot of them, so proceed with caution!
geoguessr / virtualvacation: guess locations of places- virtualvacation is like geoguessr, but with videos instead

May I learn about this so-called 9/11->Holocaust scale?
I was confused for a moment
but yes I can give some context
This year in my stagecraft class, we were playing Gartic Phone (telephone/Pictionary but online for those unacquainted) because it was the Seniors’ last day. My friend Sparky, being who they are, was making 9/11 jokes the entire time
Which prompted this exchange
“Sparky, again with 9/11?”
“It could have been worse!”
several of us at once, without thinking- “What’s worse than 9/11?!”
“The holocaust?”
and thus it was born
technically 9/11 is the middle of the scale, the very beginning of it is abortions
so it goes: abortions -> 9/11 -> holocaust
the scale itself is a ‘how bad is x thing’ sort of thing
(This is from the class where some of my favorite out of context quotes come from. Like ‘use the stickers not grandma’ and ‘I just sneezed so hard I felt my uterus crack’ so you can tell how un serious we are)

Your neocities is really cool!!! Do you have any advise in how to organize and start an art telephone? How many people do you recommend “recruiting”? It sounds fun :D
HEYYY okay so off the top of my head:
I’d do 8-10 people to get a feel for the process— that’s plenty to see a change.
Be ready to be TOUGH but POLITE. I give people 5 days to draw, and if they can’t do that I will offer them an extension and then ask if they want to drop out to keep the game moving. Artists can be avoidant, so the antidote is directness!
The best games start with an interaction between non-human, non-licensed characters.
Just like in Pictionary, the people who don’t draw often tend to be the most creative. Cherish them. Drop them like a landmine right between two top-tier artists. Sit back and watch the fireworks.
#people love art telephone#they just don’t want to ORGANIZE an art telephone#imo it’s not much work at all and I’m lucky I’ve only had to chase a few people down#if anyone is having trouble finding art telephone participants I will HAPPILY BOOST your call for signups

Unforgettable Family Party Games for Your Next Gathering
Family gatherings are the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories, and what better way to do that than with some exciting party games? Whether you’re hosting a holiday get-together, a birthday celebration, or just a casual family reunion, these games are sure to bring laughter, competition, and a whole lot of fun. Here’s a list of 10 family party games that will keep everyone entertained and make your gathering unforgettable.
1. Charades: A Classic Game for All Ages
Charades is a timeless game that never fails to entertain. It’s easy to play and doesn’t require any special equipment—just a list of phrases or actions to act out. Split your family into teams, and have one member from each team act out a word or phrase while the others guess. The team with the most correct guesses wins! This game is perfect for all ages and is guaranteed to bring out the competitive spirit in everyone.
2. Pictionary: Draw Your Way to Victory
Pictionary is another classic game that’s sure to be a hit at your family party. Players take turns drawing a word or phrase while their team tries to guess what it is. The catch? You can’t use any words or letters in your drawing! This game encourages creativity and quick thinking, and it’s always fun to see how people interpret the clues.
3. Musical Chairs: Get Ready to Move
Musical Chairs is a fun, fast-paced game that’s perfect for parties with younger children. Set up a circle of chairs (one less than the number of players), and play some music. When the music stops, everyone has to find a chair to sit on—those who don’t are out of the game. The last person standing is the winner. This game is great for burning off some energy and getting everyone up and moving.
4. Scavenger Hunt: Adventure in Your Own Home
A scavenger hunt is a fantastic way to get everyone involved and exploring their surroundings. Create a list of items for your family members to find around the house or yard, and set them loose! You can make the hunt as simple or as challenging as you like, depending on the ages of the players. For added excitement, include some riddles or clues to guide them to the hidden items.
5. Family Trivia: Test Your Knowledge
Family Trivia is a great way to see how well everyone knows each other. Create a list of questions about family members, such as “What is Grandpa’s favorite hobby?” or “Who won the spelling bee in third grade?” Divide into teams and see who can answer the most questions correctly. This game is not only fun but also a great way to learn more about your family’s history and interests.
6. Minute to Win It: Quick Challenges for Big Fun
Inspired by the popular TV show, Minute to Win It games are short, one-minute challenges that are easy to set up and play. Examples include stacking cups, balancing a cookie on your forehead, or moving an item from one place to another using only a straw. These quick, silly games are perfect for breaking the ice and getting everyone laughing.
7. Bingo: A Simple Yet Exciting Game
Bingo is a game that everyone can enjoy, from young children to grandparents. Create bingo cards with various numbers, words, or pictures, and use a random number generator or draw items from a hat. The first person to get a full row, column, or diagonal shouts “Bingo!” and wins a prize. This game is easy to play and can be customized to fit any party theme.
8. Telephone Game: A Hilarious Way to Pass the Message
The Telephone Game is a simple, hilarious game that’s sure to get everyone laughing. Start with one person whispering a sentence or phrase into the ear of the person next to them. That person then whispers what they heard to the next person, and so on until the last person says the phrase out loud. The final message is often hilariously different from the original, leading to plenty of laughter.
9. Karaoke: Sing Your Heart Out
Karaoke is a great way to let loose and have some fun. Set up a karaoke machine or use a karaoke app on your TV or smartphone, and let everyone take turns singing their favorite songs. You can even turn it into a competition with judges and prizes for the best performance. This game is perfect for music lovers and those who love to perform.
10. Board Games: Classic Fun for Everyone

I want to hug my friends and have a big sleepover where they show me weird films and music videos and we make smores dip and pizza and play telephone pictionary and fall asleep in a puddle on the floor of our living room which we cleared so there was enough space for everyone to see the tv while we watched youtube videos about ocean ecosystems until the wee hours of the night
in the morning we groggily walk to the brunch place where we make fun of each other's sleeping habits over coffee and eggs and orange juice and hash browns and pancakes and everyone steals from everyone elses plate and the sun is shining and the sounds of laughter drift into the cloudless sky
tomorrow we'll go our separate ways but for now we have the whole day ahead of us
and it feels good (it feels like love)
#kylatalks#is this: nostalgia#i feel like as an adult this would both be more fun bc we could truly do whatever we wanted#but also significantly worse bc of how my body needs fiber and regular sleep schedule to live#anyway i wish my friends all lived close to me and we could hang out all the time#really should've taken my time in college i guess

we should do Telephone Pictionary but on a much bigger scale.
person A does fic A
person B does fanart B based on fic A
person C, without reading fic A, does fic C based on fanart B
person D, without reading fic A or seeing fanart B, does fanart D based on fic C
etc
I think that fic authors and artists should have trades.... like a week where everyday either an author writes a short fic and then an artist draws a scene from it or the artist draws fanart and then the author writes something based on that

Gartic Phone
Gartic Phone is an online multiplayer drawing and guessing game that combines elements of the classic games of Telephone and Pictionary. It's a popular choice for social gatherings, including those at the high school level. The game typically involves a series of rounds where players alternate between drawing a given prompt and guessing what others have drawn.
What makes Gartic Phone unique is its use of alternative controls. Similar to Jackbox games, Gartic Phone employs personal devices such as smartphones, tablets, or computers as the primary means of interaction. Players access the game through a web browser, and each round involves one player receiving a prompt to draw, while others guess what that drawing represents. The drawings and guesses are then passed to the next player in a chain, creating a sequence that evolves as it progresses through the participants.

i tried to find another name for 'chinese whispers' since i think there is a more politically correct name for this now, it is often called telephone, however, people don't recognise this. so for recognition purposes I have referred to it as this here. I looked at other ways and interpretations of how to play the game, specifically trying to find if there were ay image based versions of the game, found this game 'Scrawl' which is essentially Pictionary.
I was looking for this because I wanted to see firstly if it was already done, but I also was curious about how they did this. if it had any construction that was different, because with talking people have many variables which contribute to people mishearing, such as accents, mumbling, not being able to hear, So i wanted to see if it would be seen as an effective experiment and outcome to do this by seeing if people already did it.

Middle school English class, c. 1998. I feel very happy looking at a year in the 1900s. Another one. Anyway, we were instructed to play telephone for who knows what reason.
It went thus:
Teacher 👩🏻🏫 whispers to kid 1 👧🏾, who whispers to kid 2 👦🏽, etc.c etc. I thought I heard kid 4 👧🏼 whisper to kid 5 👧🏻
👧🏼 I got an E on my test.
👧🏻 (to me kid 6 🧒🏼) I need to listen my best. (?)
🧒🏼 (to final kid 👦🏾) I ngud a zhee on my zest. (Trying to blend the two things I thought I heard together.)
👦🏾 (waves arms in confusion) …….. I NEED TO JUMP OFF A CLIFF!!!!!
I messed up the numbering becsusr the class had 9 kids in it. It was a small school. But I leave the messed up numbers because that’s how I wrote it. That was a good memory from that time and place, and I relatively few.
He fell off a bottomless cliff into a bottomless pit. The cliff is bottomless too if the land mass extended down forever.
I’m inventing a game, à la Patrick: Rbe Game!
It’s telephone pictionary you can play uh yourselfZ you write a sentence into the Awi and pick the weirdest image you get. Write a sentence about that and put that into the aaai and keep going. I’m going to do thatZ in wonky to do that right niw
