I blame „Ride 5“.

That is, for making me even consider getting a second set of body parts for the 955i and going for that rare and outrageous OEM „Nuclear Red“ color scheme Triumph was applying to Speed Triple models around the year 2000 models. (The small 675 Street Triple comes in „Racing Yellow“, the 1050 SE in „Tornado Red“ and the RS1200 in „Baja Matt Orange“ — so I like expressive colors on my motorcycles. But even coming from this point, the „Nuclear Red“ is somewhat - let‘s say - „special“…)

Someone from the T5Net forum was nice enough to borrow me the flyscreen (will return it!) he had somewhere around in his garage to get a „real life“ impression of this color prior to making any final decisions. The color scheme itself is close to the RAL 4010 „Telemagenta“ trademarked by the German Telekom company, but the pearl candy effect gives it a distinct, even „pinkish“ hue in sun light. (The 955i in „Ride 5“ has a bit darker and even matte shine to it…)

“Who Killed Smiley?” Is a comic I’ve wanted to do for a while now. It has, perhaps, the oddest premise for a story out there - a Sherlock Holmes-like tale, with clowns. I’m not sure the posts/updates will be regular, but I’ll try and put the first few pages on a queue.

Listed in birth order. All the kids are named after various shades of red and purple because The Tallest are unoriginal. They literally just opened a book of color swatches and picked out the names of colors they liked. I love the trope of a Deadly Decadent Court with a bunch of Royal Brats all scrabbling for power, and it certainly shows here.

First Litter:

Eminence-The eldest, and the golden child. Likely to become Tallest one day. Crafty and cunning, and has made plans to off some of her competitors to the throne and her parents’ affections. Widely loved across Irk, used to being in the spotlight. Killed by Red in a duel for the throne, but not before mortally wounding him.

Boysen (Boysenberry)-Poisoner and chemist for the Tallest. Assassinates political dissidents and any challenge to their fathers’ throne, including, if necessary, their own siblings.

Tyrian-The Tallests’ personal executioner. Could have very much been a challenger to the throne one day if they hadn’t suddenly stopped growing.

Puce-The resentful fourth child. Has adopted a very brutal attitude to combat teasing for his unfortunate-sounding name.

Burgundy-The administrator. Currently governor of several of Irk’s territories. The only one in the family with the patience to handle minutia.

Kobi-The softie of the group and a diplomat. Youngest of the first litter. Has Vortian sympathies.

Second Litter:

Fandango-Dancer, composer, and historian. Also a movie critic.

Telemagenta-Very loud and currently works in communications as apprentice newscaster.

Quinacridone-Baby chemist and court portraitist. Works in tandem with Boysen.

Garnet-The warrior. Red’s favorite. Killed by either The Resisty or Dib.

Claret-Food critic and professional snob.

Shiraz-Classy. Wine taster. Looooves stained glass and is responsible for re-introducing it to Irken architecture.

Third Litter (the twins):

Violet-Twin. Very bratty.

Scarlet-Twin. Very bratty.
