Out of this World – Bob by Tegon Maus @TegonMaus
I started listening to Bob by Tegon Maus in July of 2019. Why did it take me so long?
Amazon / Audiobook / Goodreads
MY REVIEW
I am new to audiobooks and it took me a very long time to listen to the entire book. I feel my review may not reflect my true feelings about the story, because of my brain wanting to wander all the time. Anyway….
I did spend a lot of time laughing, especially with the dialogue. Jonathon Cook did an awesome job with the narration. He had me laughing my head off with Bob’s accent and made it easy to determine who was talking. Tegon Maus has created an interesting storyline and the missing girl is much more than she seems. Peter Anderson’s search for her leads him on a wild adventure, filled with danger and new friends.
I voluntarily reviewed a free ecopy of the audible for Bob by Tegon Maus.

REVIEW
Black Moon by Tegon Maus
The Chronicles of Tucker Littlefield #2
Fantasy fiction that drew me in slowly. The story was told in a way that allowed me to truly see a place and its various people and understand them in a way I could relate to.
In this fantasy world there are nine tribes all quite different from one another. There is a mythology that includes the passing of the scepter/spear every 28 years. There is history, mythology, hatred, prejudice and more that each tribe is impacted by.
Tucker is not your typical handsome strong youngish hero but he is a worthy man given a huge job that takes him on a quest that brings him new understanding and personal growth.
This is a story of friendship and loss and evil and family and doing the best you can with what you have at hand. There is a murderer to find and though the evil person is found the story doesn’t seem to end with this book as there are hints of war that may not be able to be avoided. That said...in spite of it being populated with non-human beings there are elements that appealed to this human. At the end of the book I wondered about Grake & Mookie and what will happen to Bowen and if Enon is really alive and if so where he has been for the years he has been assumed dead and well...I can’t wait to see what will happen to Tucker and the rest of the group when book three is published. NOTE: I had not read book one of the series so did read reviews and the blurb for The Gift before starting to read – I believe it helped to do so but had no trouble understanding this episode in Tucker’s life. That said, I do plan to read book one to see what I missed ;)
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
BLURB
Every twenty-eight years, the reign of the old Shalic comes to an end with the arrival of the Black Moon. The symbol of the law is a spear that holds sway over the whole of the Kindred, and is passed onto the old Shalic’s successor with the passing of the Black Moon. When the old Shalic is murdered, war between those who carried the spear and those who were to receive it divides the Kindred bent on settling old scores. Only one man stands between them...Tucker Littlefield, and he holds the spear.

BLOG TOUR - Machines of the Little People
DISCLAIMER: The following has been provided to INFINITE HOUSE OF BOOKS by Premiere Virtual Author Book Tours. No compensation has been received for this content. This disclaimer provided by requirement of the Federal Trade Commission.
Machines Of the Little People by Tegon Maus:
Publisher: Tirgearr Publishing (April 20, 2014) Category: Mystery, Soft Science Fiction, Technothriller, Humor, Quirky ASIN: B00JU2VOGS Tour Date: Oct/Nov, 2015 Available in: ebook, 166 Pages
Ben Harris’s sister died of cervical cancer more than three years ago… his best friend and her husband, Roger Keswick, disappeared the day before the funeral. For the next six months everyone from the local police to the Department of Defense searched for him but to no avail… it was as if he had simply fallen off the face of the planet only to reappear at work as if nothing were out of the ordinary.
Then by the purest of coincidences Ben finds himself pulled back into Roger’s life only to discover he has remarried… to Jessica… a woman the looks, sounds and acts just like his dead sister. To complicate things Roger is insistent his home, his car, his life is infested with tiny elf like creatures he calls the Katoy. He claims they run massive machines under his house and watch his every move… every move that is until Jessica is found bludgeoned to death in his living room and Roger is nowhere to be found . . . again.
Guest Post by Tegon Maus on THE POWER OF WORDS:
The Power of words… I had to think about this. How hard is this? Very, right ? “Go West young man !” “Remember the Alamo !” “We gotta sink the Bismarck !” “We have nothing to fear but fear itself !” All pretty powerful if you think about it… doubly so for “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”
Think about it… an enemy that was taking over Europe… one that was openly trying to take over the world no less… that was killing thousands of people every day ! If that wasn’t enough they suddenly start to bomb the living hell out of you with a brand new technology that only existed in Sci-fi stories… V rockets. How terrifying would that be? Bombs falling relentlessly from the sky and you’re told “you have nothing to fear but fear itself.” And that, believe it or not, did the trick. I think words are not enough. I think it takes something to relate too.
Something beyond the ordinary, something that captures what people are thinking, what they’re feeling … or if we’re lucky something that grabs everyone’s imagination. Words… the right words… can change things. Sometimes it’s for the better sometimes not so much so. With the right words you can, bend the will of the people, gather them together and lead a nation.
With the power of words I can fly you to the far end of the Galaxy and back. I can tell you all about the strange and wonderful things to see… all the worlds and all the people who live on each. I can make you fall in love with the most homely man on the face of the world or hate the most beautiful of creatures… if I turn them just right, put them in just the right order I can make you believe I am the Sci-Fi writer you want to read for the rest of your life… just saying. I have no interest in leading nations… I’m a simple dream kind of a guy.
Praise for Machines Of the Little People by Tegon Maus:
“Tegon Maus is an author that I read when I need a wild and crazy ride! His characters are always so quirky and unique. I am pretty sure I’ve never encountered the type of characters that are in these books in any other books! They’re hilariously flawed and extremely well-developed. They could just walk off the page…though you wouldn’t want them to. I just absolutely recommend this science fictiony type of book to those of you who appreciate great, quirky characters and wild, conspiracy theory type plots. I am seriously glad that I was introduced to his writing.”-Christy Maurer, Christy’s Crazy Corners
“As the saying goes, it takes all sorts. This is certainly the case with the characters in this story. As this story unfolds the characters are all so amazing, from psychic elderly ladies, to nine ‘sisters’ and sinister spy like characters and agents. Then, if that is not exciting enough, add to the equation a blossoming love affair, secret research projects and deadly weapons and you soon come to realise that this book is captivating from the first page. Oh, and don’t forget those little people – and their machines…”-Susan Keefe, Book Reviews by Susan Keefe
“The SF angle was pretty neat, but the mystery is what drives the story. The characters come alive, and the writing is fast-paced and exciting, keeping the reader turning the pages.”- Virginia E. Johnson, Amazon Reviewer
About Tegon Maus:
Tegon Maus was raised pretty much the same as everyone else… devoted mother, strict father and all the imaginary friends he could conjure. Not that he wasn’t friendly, he just wasn’t “people orientated”. Maybe he lived in his head way more than he should have, maybe not. He liked machines more than people, at least he did until I met his wife.
The first thing he can remember writing was for her. For the life of him he can’t remember what it was about… something about dust bunnies under the bed and monsters in my closet. It must have been pretty good because she married him shortly after that. He spent a good number of years chasing other dreams before he got back to writing.
It wasn’t a deliberate conscious thought, it was more of a stepping stone. His wife and himself had joined a dream interpret group and we were encouraged to write down our dreams as they occurred. “Be as detailed as you can,” we were told.
He was thrilled. If there is one thing he enjoys it’s making people believe him and he likes to exaggerate. Not a big exaggeration or an outright lie mind you, just a little step out of sync, just enough so you couldn’t be sure if it were true or not. When he writes, he always write with the effort of “it could happen” very much in mind and nothing, he guarantees you, nothing, makes him happier.
He has consistently placed in the top 3 in 189 writing contest in a variety of genres and has been featured in magazines a couple of times to raise money for Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Title: The Wishing Stone Author: Tegon Maus Publication Date: August 10, 2014 Genre: Science Fiction / Technothriller Amazon Link: Here
★★★☆☆
During that last summer, as if in punishment for being happy, Kate was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The last time we used the wishing stone was at the hospital the morning she died.
On that day, all three of us made a silent wish, certain the others had wished the same. Kate died that afternoon and I never thought about it again. It was the last time I believed in magic, in love or in the existence of God.
Then, after three miserable lonely years, the unthinkable, a second chance... Warwick.
I’m going to try to be quite brief with this review: I didn’t like this book as much as I liked Machines of the Little People. It had a lot less of the whimsy that the first book had, and the characters seemed suddenly a little less deep and a little more archetypal. While I liked that Roger was no longer the typical mad scientist, plenty others took his place, and the plot twist regarding him was too sudden a u-turn to be good. There was no build-up or suggestion. Additionally, Ben being in Warwick meant some of the adventure left the story: besides more harmful depictions of diseases such as dissociative identity disorder, not much actually happened.
However, it didn’t suck, as per se: it had its ups and downs, some good dialogue on Ben’s part and some plot twists that actually were surprising in a good way. It wasn’t even a full star behind the other book: it just left me with a sense of disappointment. I’d hoped that the writing style would improve, and I was wrong.
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, as part of the Wishing Stone Web Tour.

Monday Mini – The Gift by Tegon Maus @TegonMaus
Goodreads / Amazon
MY REVIEW
I have seen Tegon Maus’ books around and heard such good things that I had to find out for myself. I was not disappointed.
The story is about Enon, a Jonda and mind reader, and Elisabeth, kidnapped royalty.
Enon would either be a hero or a dead man. The fighting is fierce, but he makes a good showing, even managing to hook up with a woman who has his number. Their verbal banter is more often funny than hurtful.
Would betrayal take the king’s life? Isn’t there always someone hiding in the shadows wanting the kingdom?
The world created is fraught with danger and enemies at every turn. Will the frightened little man become an unwilling hero? Well, all I can say is the journey is long and arduous, and not all will return.
Tegon Maus can sure spin a tale, drawing me in, making me crave more.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of The Gift by Tegon Maus.

GOODREADS BLURB
Transformed by a primitive magic beyond a civilized man’s understanding, I was given a horrible gift that no man should possess… It held me, twisted me, turning me at its bidding. I was enslaved by its power, compelled to devour the souls of the dead until I became the monster of my fears. I have seen things I wish never to see again. I have done things of which I wish never to speak. Yet I must if I am to find the answers to fulfill my hope. I have walked upon blue ribbons of molten stone to peer into the depth of a man’s soul. I watched as a promise made at birth brought my friend Enon to sacrifice everything to become whole again – all in an effort to save the life of his child. I have cried without shame for the loss of all I hold dear and for fear that the future will hold more than I can bear. I am Tucker Littlefield. Know all that I say now is true-spoken.

Guest Post: Bob by Tegon Maus
Do you believe in UFO’s? It’s almost impossible not too. There are more than 4 Billion Stars in our galaxy… each of those has a string of planets… according to the Drakes formula that works out to a little over 26,000 civilizations at our level and or higher in our galaxy alone and we know about another 12,000 other galaxies in the observable universe so…
When I was twelve I lived close to Norton Air Force base. They carried out training exercises on a regular bases doing what was called a “sac run.” Giant planes called Star Lifters that roared from the sky one after the other to have their wheels touch down for a brief moment and then take off again.
At that time there was a road at the end of the runway you could park and the planes would pass no more than thirty feet over head. Their power as they floated by shook me to the core. It filled me with fear, trepidation and excitement that has lasted a lifetime.
Then, late one afternoon as I sat on the hood of my father’s car, I saw it. It gleamed with the brightness of unimaginable silver. It was stunningly thin from tip to tip with a recognizable bulge at its center... a saucer. It floated silently in place, hanging stationary in the air like a balloon and my heart jumped to my throat in surprise. I stared in disbelief as several minutes crept by and it inched closer and closer, inching its way to the ground and to me.
My heart beat as never before and my mind filled with every Sci-Fi movie, every book, every abduction story I had ever been exposed too. I couldn’t breath, I couldn’t move. It was clear... they were coming for me.
At that instant as it was nearly overhead I crawled backward over the roof of the car to stand on the truck. I was about to scream in terror and the craft turned slightly, banking to the right.
It glided softly toward the runway becoming a Star Lifter once more as it roared over head.
My father and I laughed wildly but to this day the image burns in my memory.
I saw it for myself and real or not I believe.
