Mel's Made Up Royal Rumble

This is very very very silly and you definitely don't have to read it but thought I'd put together a fantasy Royal Rumble before the real Royal Rumble. This involves wrestlers from different eras and different companies, the only exclusion is that I didn't include wrestlers that have past away because I personally feel weird about including wrestlers that have past away.

First entrants are Stu Grayson and Kurt Angle, just would love to see them lock up so in my fantasy booking, I'm going to do it.

Next entrant is Kofi Kingston. He always has really entertaining moments in the RR so I imagine he'd be able to do some fun stuff.

Number 4 is Becky Lynch. The first woman in my fantasy Royal Rumble.

Next is Allie. I don't know if it will ever happen in real life but it's my fantasy booking and I'm gonna book her and Becky to do a few spots.

Big E would come out next. Him and Kofi work together to eliminate Kurt Angle.

Next comes Rosemary where her and Allie reunite, Allie goes for a hug but Rosemary stops her to give her a head pat before eliminating her. Demon has no friends when everything is on the line.

Number 8 is John Silver.

Then comes Evil Uno. Three Dark Order members, who would have predicted I would do that 💀💀💀

Number 10 is Xavier Woods to have my New Day vs. Dark Order square off. I know that isn't everyone in Dark Order but New Day only has three members so this is how I tried to put it together.

As Xavier and Kofi work together to try and eliminate Silver, here comes Alex Reynolds to make the save. He eliminates Xavier and Kofi.

Next comes Taya Valkyrie and Demon Assassin has another reunion with a friend before Taya eliminates Rosemary.

Becky and Silver have a fun moment before Becky eliminate him. Out comes Anna Jay next who comes face to face with Becky. Even tho Anna no longer aligns herself with Dark Order, she still cares about her brothers in DO and wasn't happy about that elimination.

Out comes Nyla Rose who briefly aligns herself with Anna to eliminate Becky before Nyla also eliminates Anna.

Number 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 is Ethan Page, Wren Sinclair, Andre Chase, Jaida Parker and Roxanne Perez. The NXT stars briefly team up eliminating Nyla Rose, Alex Reynolds, Big E and Taya Valkyrie. Before All Ego turns his back on the rest of his class, eliminating Wren, Andre and Jaida before Roxanne turns the tables eliminating him.

Out comes AJ Lee at number 20. Her and Roxanne have a face to face interaction with the crowd going wild, this is really silly, thank you for indulging on my silliness 💀💀💀💀💀

Number 21 is Danhausen.

Number 22 is Tegan Nox.

Number 23 is Athena.

Number 24 is Psycho Mike. Him and Danhausen have a fun interaction.

Number 25 is Mickie James.

Roxanne eliminates AJ and Tegan before the next participant enters the match, Gail Kim who comes face to face with Roxanne before eliminating her.

Victoria is the next out who brawls with Mickie before Athena eliminates them both. Athena also eliminates Gail.

Next participant is William Regal. He has a fun moment with Athena before Athena eliminating him.

Uno eliminates Danhausen before Naomi enters the ring who eliminates Athena.

Last participant is Bryan Danielson. I always found it to be a bit sad that him and Stu never got to interact, I can imagine them having a fun back and forth before Danielson eliminates Stu. Commentary putting over how long Stu stayed in the match for 💀💀💀

Last four in the ring are Uno, Danielson, Naomi and Psycho Mike.

Danielson tries to eliminate Psycho Mike but Psycho Mike gets the surprise elimination and eliminates him. I can hear the pitchforks from fanboys now.

Uno eliminates Naomi.

After a back and forth, Uno outlasts Psycho Mike because who did you think would win my made up Royal Rumble 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

Reader x Bayley x Dakota

Reader is in the crowd during one of their matches and Bayley gets Knocked into the barrier. Dakota goes to help Bayley but gets attacked so reader helps Bayley.that’s when they first meet. After the show Bayley and Dakota find reader like walking down the street or something (creepy😭😂) and say hi to her and take her out or something and then over the next few weeks they get really close and get together

Summary: When you helped Bayley get up during that match, you surely didn't expect it to end like this.

As you stood in the crowd at SmackDown, watching your favorite wrestlers from Damage CTRL in action, you were filled with excitement and anticipation. The energy in the arena was electric as Bayley and Dakota faced off against Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox.

As the match unfolded, the action was intense and captivating. However, things took a turn for the worse when Shotzi slammed Bayley into the barricade, right in front of where you were standing. Gasps echoed through the crowd as Bayley lay on the ground, writhing in pain.

Without a second thought, you leaned over the barricade to check on her, your heart racing with concern. You placed your hand gently on her shoulder and asked, "Hey, how bad is it?"

Bayley groaned in response, but you were determined to help her. You grabbed onto her waist and did your best to assist her in getting up. She thanked you quickly before hobbling back towards the ring to aid Dakota, who was being double-teamed by Shotzi and Tegan.

The match continued, and the intense action unfolded before your eyes. Despite the pain, Bayley fought with determination and resilience, showing her unwavering spirit.

After the match, you left the arena and began walking down the dark street to where you parked your car. Suddenly, you heard a voice calling out to you. At first, you froze, thinking it might be someone trying to cause trouble. But as you turned around, you saw Bayley and Dakota walking towards you.

Bayley apologized for scaring you and expressed her gratitude for your help earlier. You assured her that it was no problem, that you were glad you could assist. Dakota then spoke up, suggesting that they take you out to dinner as a formal thank-you for helping Bayley.

Surprised but also excited, you agreed to their invitation. The dinner was a wonderful experience, and over the weeks, you continued to meet up with Bayley and Dakota. The three of you spent time together, sharing laughs, stories, and bonding over your shared love for wrestling and life.

As time went on, your bond with Bayley and Dakota grew stronger. You found yourself opening up to them, sharing your thoughts, dreams, and insecurities. They listened and supported you, always offering a shoulder to lean on.

Raw 13/11/23

The Build to WarGames

Raw opens with both teams from WarGames trading insults with each other. Damian Priest gets frustrated when taunted about who is the leader of The Judgement Day, and spouts that he is the leader. Seth Rollins also gets to a boiling point where he challenges JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio to a tag match with Sami Zayn and himself.

This was an alright TV match that ended in a DQ thanks to Rhea Ripley and Priest. This led to everyone from WarGames coming out for a brawl. Pearce, agents, and security had to separate everyone. Pearce bans everyone for the Tag Team main event so we will see a fair match. Rhea stays in the ring and argues with Pearce until Zoey Stark comes out. This was just to remind people that these two are in a feud.

I thought this first 30 minutes could have done without this tag match. Just have people brawl, and then have Pearce ban everyone, then cue Stark.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Otis had an alright match. This could have been given a bit more time as I wanted to see Nakamura pushed to his limit against the big man. The match did set up for a Nakamura and Chad Gable match for next week, so that's a plus. I think Gable can pull a really good match out of Nakamura.

Tegan Nox picked up a victory of Piper Niven. This match was sort of sloppy. Nothing seemed like it connected, and the slow pace didn’t do it any favours. The crowd didn’t seem to be into it either.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Ludwig Kaiser was one of the better matches on tonight’s Raw. Both men are solid workers with nice offensive moves in their arsenal. Ciampa takes the loss, but I’m sure DIY will picked up a win over Imperium soon.

Xia Li knocked Indi Hartwell out with a kick. Becky Lynch came out, but Li ran away. Lynch says next week she and Li will have a match. I’m not a fan of the leg kicks causing a stoppage. When Li loses to, do we stop the power of the kicks gimmick? I can’t imagine Li’s kicks will continue to knock people out once she loses, so the whole idea is a bit silly. If Li had a kicked that got her to pin her opponent, then I would be invested in the angle they are pulling here.

The Miz and Ivar had a fun match. I’m impressed with Ivar as a singles wrestler. The Miz escaped with a win by gaining leverage from the ropes. A heel move from a babyface. Looks like someone is desperate.

JD McDonagh is now an honorary member of The Judgement Day. Well done, JD.

The main event match was better than I expected. The Undisputed Tag Team Champions retained thanks to Drew McIntyre giving a claymore kick to Jey Uso. This makes sense for Drew's story because it was The Bloodline that cost him. The man is just getting some sweet revenge.

Overall this was an average episode of Raw. The wrestling was very hit and miss and outside of the WarGames picture, there's wasn't much else to get my teeth sunk into.

Winter Blues (Tegan Nox x Reader)

Winters in Florida often times left you homesick. It didn’t get cold, not really. You missed the snow and getting to ice skate over frozen lakes on the weekends. There was no way that Tegan hadn’t noticed how your mood had changed. Every single year you got a little sadder to be away from home during such a sacred time. 

“Hey bug,” Tegan said as she peeked her head into your room. She had spent the better part of the day in her game room. You’d popped in to check on her earlier in the afternoon before coming into the bedroom and taking a nap. It wasn’t like you to take naps because they disrupted your sleeping schedule, so once Tegan saw you laying down, she knew something was up. “What’s wrong?” 

“It’s February and I’m wearing shorts. Back home, I’d have thermals on under my jeans and coveralls. I’d be outside shoveling snow with my brothers before we had a snowball fight,” you said sadly. Tegan pouted as she looked at you. 

“Next year, we’ll be up there for winter, I promise,” Tegan said as she moved towards you. She sat down on the edge of the bed and you reached out for her hand. She let you have it and leaned back so she was laying across your legs. “My knee will be better and you can take me down that hill you talked up so much.” 

“There will be so much for us to do,” you said happily. Tegan shifted a bit so that her head was now in your lap and your hands were running through her hair. 

“Tell me more about what we’ll do.” 

“We’ll have snowball fights. I won’t make you help us shovel the snow, it’s hellish sometimes. We can drink hot cocoa and eat the cookies my mom makes. I can take you to the winter festival if we’re in town for it. If we are, we have to ride the ferriswheel and kiss at the top,” you began to ramble. Tegan kept you talking until you were back to being your chipper self. Once you were in a better mood, you went with her to her game room and the two of you played a couple rounds of Mortal Kombat together before ordering in for dinner.

The problem with different championships in WWE

You know what I really don't like about the brandsplit separate titles schtick? One brand's titles are made to feel important, while the other brand's titles are made to be an afterthought.

The Universal Championship feels like a big deal and is made to be important with legit matches. The WWE Championship? Not so much. It's had great champions in recent years, decent matches that don't really feel important, but it's not at the same level as the Universal Championship. Neither Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley nor Big E can be allowed to feel as big or important as Roman Reigns. I don’t get it. Why isn’t the WWE Championship, the company’s biggest belt with a lineage and history going from Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Austin, Rock, HHH, Brock Lesnar and you get the picture. Why is a Championship, that was once the company’s crowning achievement that goes all the way back to the 1960′s, treated less important than a belt that only existed since 2016? Call me old fashioned, but this should not be happening. Imagine if WCW stayed in business and had two separate titles. The Big Gold Belt, which has been around for a long ass time and the WCW Big Bang Champion, which was created in oh, say 2001 or 2002. See how fucking stupid that is?

The Woman's title scene is a disaster. First of all, WHY are they just called the Raw and Smackdown's Women's Championships? One should be the WWE World Women's Champion and one should be the Women's Evolution Championship. But the belts don't look different. One is red and one is blue. Ever since Becky left, the Raw Woman's Champion was never allowed to feel as important as the Smackdown's when Bayley ran shit. Asuka barely ever defended her championship. Then they treated Rhea as an afterthought. Nikki Cross as champion was a disaster for a gimmick that was booed out the building in weeks. Only when Charlotte returned was the title given the time it deserves. As for the Smackdown Woman's Champion, it seems like since Bayley lost it, it lost importance. Sasha was kept in a feud with Carmella that was ridiculous. Than fucking Reginald... The feud with Bianca. The feud itself was poorly built, but the match was great. Had a great feud with Bayley, although the laugh felt like it was designed to make Bianca look weak. Same problem with Bianca. Terrible feud with Carmella. Then Becky dethroned her and became Becky Cringe...sorry Big Time Becks. The belt got it's mojo back. Apparently these belts are only allowed to feel important again once Charlotte and Becky are both champion. And then the disaster title switch happened. I don't have to tell you this was a terrible idea to begin with and lead to a disaster backstage. But switching belts and making them feel worthless is not a good look.

US and IC Titles. The US Title feels prestigious. The IC Champion feels like an afterthought. I honestly forgot Shinsuke was still champion. I remembered that Damian Priest was still champion, but if I remember one is champion and the other isn't, that's a problem. Come to think of it. The IC title has been treated like an afterthought FOR A LONG TIME and I don’t need to go into detail on why this is a big problem!

Tag Titles. The Raw Tag Titles feel worthless and I honestly cannot stand RK-Bore. The Smackdown Titles have little value, but The Usos are there to give value to them. For the love of god, just fucking unify the belts! If the Women’s Tag Titles can be on both brands, I see no reason why the men’s tag titles can’t be one set of belts....speaking of. 

The Women’s Tag Titles. Here’s the problem with the Women’s Tag Titles. The division is dead. EVERY team in the woman’s tag division was either broken up or one partner or both was released. And I can’t help but feel that Rhea tagging with Nikki was a goddamned demotion for Rhea Ripley. Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox beat Nattie and Tamina 3 FUCKING TIMES and never once got their title shot and Vince broke them up. Name one team that isn’t a thrown together at the last minute that could contend for the titles. You can’t can you? THAT’S THE PROBLEM, VINCE!

24/7 Championship. This belt has worn out it’s welcome. It got old fast and lost it’s fun quick. It’s not funny anymore. Seeing the job squad chase after R-Truth, Reggie or whoever is just a chore to sit through watching on Raw every week. With the success of AEW’s TNT Championship, I really wish WWE had a Television Championship instead of the joke 24/7. The WWE has never had a Television Championship and I feel like that was a damn shame.  A TV title could have a guaranteed weekly title match clause, which would not only make for great viewing, but could give some of WWE’s workhorses time to shine as singles stars, on a much larger scale. Instead of a bad redundant comedy angle, it would be a great way to weekly show off the talent that is rarely used and like I said the WWE has never had a Television Championship, so it would surely be better to have than the 24/7 title. or hell, why not a WWE Network Championship? Would be a great way to boost views on their YouTube and WWE Network and give more exposure to those who never make it on Raw or Smackdown. 

I feel having two separate champions is okay, but the way they present them is terrible. Also having your world champions look the same, just in different colors is terrible. 

I hate to compare to AEW, but AEW has proven you can have a big roster, but have one set of belts AND IT WORKS!  

We really don’t need 13 belts.

You stand outside of BelaRosa Banquet Hall and stare up at the building. You know what's waiting for you inside.

While you've managed to avoid him at Full Sail, it won't be as easy to avoid him here. At least at Full Sail, you can hide in your dressing room. At BelaRosa Banquet Hall, there's nowhere to hide. Except maybe the bathroom. He's too much of a gentleman to walk into a women's restroom.

"Hey, girlie," you hear Candice LeRae say behind you. You glance back to see her walking up to the door with Johnny Gargano by her side. "Why are you still out here? You should be inside."

You say, "I'm trying to talk myself into going in. It's taking me longer than I thought."

Candice hooks her arm with yours and she says, "You know he doesn't like coming to these events. He probably won't even be here."

Anxiety hits you like a train as you say, "He's NXT Champion, Candice. There's no way that he's not here."

"That's a good point," she says. "I used to wrestle men so I won't be afraid to hit him or hurricanrana him so please come inside and sit with me and Johnny."

That gets a light laugh out of you. You give in and say, "Fine. You better hold your promise to hurrincanrana him if he comes near me."

Candice laughs and the three of you walk inside. "I promise," she says.

The banquet hall is huge and already full of NXT wrestlers and staff members. William Regal is even here. So is Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Shawn Michaels. If they're here then he definitely is.

You join Candice at a table with Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez, Tommaso Ciampa, Tyler Breeze, and Fandango.

"Hey, Y/N!" Tegan says, patting the seat beside her. "Sit here. I didn't think we'd be seeing you."

Laughing, you say, "I decided to show up and not let a breakup dictate my life anymore."

Candice says, "She was standing outside the building for who knows how long when I showed up. Who knows if she would have walked in if it wasn't for me."

Everyone at the table kind of laughs.

The banquet hall is full of Christmas and holiday themed decorations. Garland hands all over the place with a large Christmas tree in one of the corners of the room. Wreaths are scattered throughout the room. The tables all have little Santa or snowman figurines as decoration.

"I love that dress, Y/N," Dakota compliments. "Very pretty."

The decision to come to this party was so last minute that you had to grab a dress from your closet instead of buying something new like most people did. The dress you're wearing is a short satin silver dress with spaghetti straps that crisscross each other on your back. The neck dips a little low, revealing a small amount of cleavage. You wear matching silver heels. Your Y/H/C colored hair is up in a messy bun on top of your head.

"Thank you, Kota," you say, smiling kindly at her.

The party goes well until dinner is served in buffet form. You're making your way down the line when someone says, "It's nice to see ya, Y/N. It's been a while."

You'd know that accent anywhere. That Irish accent that made you weak in the knees every time you heard it. Your suspicions are confirmed when you look to your left to see Finn Balor grabbing some mashed potatoes.

"Wish I could say the same," is all you say before grabbing a roll and some butter before walking off.

You sigh as you sit down, angry and frustrated that he even had the nerve to come up to you and say that it's nice to see you. You eat angrily.

Candice notices you and asks, "What's going on? You seem angry."

"I'm not," you snap. "Angry. I'm not angry."

Johnny chimes in and says, "Your vegetables say differently. Did he say something to you? I saw him standing next to you."

You look up at Johnny and say, "He said it was nice to see me, as if he didn't cheat on me several times then play victim every time I would find out."

Candice looks at you, upset that he even talked to you.

Tegan gives you a hug and says, "We won't let him talk to you again, Y/N. That was the first and last time he will talk to you tonight."

Dinner and dessert go by pretty much quickly and easily. Finn doesn't approach you while you eat.

After dinner and dessert, Candice and Johnny go off to dance. Raquel and Dakota go talk to Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley. Tyler and Dango go talk to Adam Cole and the Undisputed Era. Tommaso goes and mingles. That leaves you and Tegan at the table.

Tegan is in the middle of telling you a story about her dog as the two of you sip off your alcoholic drink when Finn approaches you again.

"I'd really like to talk with ya for a second, Y/N," he says. "Please."

You sigh and ask, "What part of 'I never want to talk to you again' didn't you understand?"

Tegan jumps in and says, "Take a hint, Finn. She doesn't want to talk."

Finn looks at you and says, "Just for a few minutes. Then ya can go back to hating my guts."

You turn and look up at Finn, meeting his eyes. "When I said to never talk to me again, I meant it, Finn," you say, growing more and more frustrated.

"It's just a two-minute long conversation, Y/N," he says. "Come on."

Tegan looks at you and you look at her. She says, "Get it out of the way that way you can enjoy the rest of your night."

Sighing, you look back up at Finn and say, "Fine. You have only two minutes."

He looks at Tegan before saying, "Alone. I want to talk to ya alone."

Rolling your eyes, you get out of your seat. Finn walks off to a more private and quieter part of the banquet hall.

"What do you want, Finn?" you ask. "Here to tell me how much you want me back and wish you never cheated?"

He says, "I'm getting married." You're surprised by these three words. "I wanted to make peace with the people I've hurt the most before I got married. Starting with ya."

You look up at Finn and say, "I'm not forgiving you any time soon, Finn. You hurt me so many times."

Finn says, "I don't expect ya to forgive me, Y/N. I'm just trying to make peace with ya so ya stop being smart when I talk to ya at work. I understand that I hurt ya and are mad at me-"

You cut him off and say, "You don't understand. If you understood then you wouldn't have cheated on me multiple times. I'm not just mad, I'm furious. I feel like the past six years were a waste of my time because of you. I loved you. I loved you so much that it hurt me. I took you back when you begged and pleaded because I believed you when you told me you wouldn't cheat again. I gave you chance after chance to make it up to me and just when you did, I'd find out that you cheated again. So no, you don't understand, Finn."

He hangs his head in shame as you speak. He knows that what he did was wrong. Now he's trying to right this wrong.

Finn waits until you're done talking before he says, "I understand what I did was wrong. I've grown and reflected in the past year, Y/N. I've met someone I'm happy with. I've met someone who's kind and beautiful and hasn't judged me because of my past. I've met someone who is nothing compared to ya. I know ya won't forgive me but I want ya back in my life because this whole ignoring me then being smart when we've talked sucks."

You squint your eyes at Finn and say, "Then maybe you shouldn't have cheated."

"I wish I didn't, Y/N!" Finn says, raising his voice. "Believe it or not but I did regret it every time. I hid it because I didn't want us to be in this exact situation."

You raise your voice and say, "Then maybe you should have just told me if you regretted it instead of hiding it! Hiding it did nothing but fuel my anger and hatred toward you. For the past year I have hated you, I have been angry at you, but most of all, I have loved you every second. It's frustrating, Finn! It's frustrating loving you when all you did was hurt me. Last Christmas, when you told me you cheated again, it broke my heart breaking up with you and honestly, I waited to see if you would come back but you never did. Instead you went out and got engaged, and it's not to me."

You've started crying by this point as you let out everything you've been feeling toward Finn for the past year. Everything comes spilling out as you talk.

Meanwhile, Finn's quiet. He's listening and taking it every single word you're saying. He wants to understand.

After sighing and wiping the tears away, you say, "All I wanted was for you to grown and think about your actions. That's all I wanted. Maybe I would have taken you back or tried again at a relationship with you if you came to me and talked to me instead of getting engaged. Now you're getting married and all I can think about is how proud I am of you and happy I am for you while being upset and angry with you."

A wave of sadness comes over Finn after you're done speaking. He finally realizes how much he's hurt you. He realizes his choices haven't been the best over the past few years.

Hesitantly, he reaches out and wipes away your mascara stained tears. Subconsciously, you lean into his touch and close your eyes.

Finn says softly, "I wanted to go back to ya, Y/N. I truly did, but I thought that I'd hurt ya too much and that ya wouldn't even listen to what I had to say. I've loved ya from afar this past year. There's always been a spot for ya in my heart, Y/N."

You look up at Finn, meeting his eyes. You cry, "If I had seen that you had grown and reflected and thought about everything then I would have listened. I'm listening now and I can see how much you've changed, Finn. I can see how genuine and sincere you are."

He looks down at you with a sad expression on his face. He tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear as he says, "I'm so sorry, Y/N. I truly am."

Eye contact remains as you say the words Finn's been wanting to hear for months. "I forgive you, Finn," is what you say.

He brings his forehead down to yours and he whispers, "I want one thing."

"What's that?" you ask, your voice quiet.

Finn says, "I want a last kiss. Just so we can both move on from this and grow as friends."

You stare up at Finn and say, "I can't do that. You have a fiancée, Finn. Don't do to her what you've done to me."

He nods and looks away, clearly upset.

You would do anything to kiss him again. His kisses always gave you butterflies, no matter where the kisses were on your body. His mustache would always tickle your lip when you kissed him.

You know what, you think to yourself. One last kiss won't be the end of the world.

"Finn," you say, getting his attention.

The Irishman looks at you. You wait a second before hesitantly kissing Finn softly. You squeeze your eyes so the last few years escape and roll down your cheeks as Finn kisses you back.

This is it. The official end of a six year relationship. You're both finally moving on. Finn's getting married and you finally have the closure you never thought you needed as your lips move more and more passionately against Finn's.

Both of you suddenly find yourselves not wanting to pull away from the kiss. Your hands slide up and rest on the back of Finn's neck as you continue kissing him. His hands rest on your waist.

Finn walks so he's pressing you against the wall in the hallway. His large frame pins you against the cream colored wall.

He leans down and picks you up by your thighs, pressing your back against the wall as you wrap your legs around his waist.

It's when his lips leave yours and attach to your neck that you say, "Finn. This isn't just a kiss anymore."

He looks at you and says, "I don't want it to be just a kiss."

"I don't want it either but it has to be," you say. "That's all it can be."

Finn kisses your lips again, this time more passionately and intensely than before. "Stay the night with me," he mumble against your lips. "Please."

In between kisses, you say, "You're getting married, Finn. I can't."

He says, "Ya can. Ya just don't want to."

You pull back and put your hands on Finn's face, holding him there. "Trust me, I want to," you say. "You have no idea how much I want to."

Finn pleads, "Then come home with me. I still live in that tiny apartment. My fiancée doesn't live with me. One last night together won't be the end of the world. If my fiancée finds out and leaves then we get what we both want in the end. Each other."

"That's a toxic way to think, Finn," you point out.

He says, "I know, but I love ya more than I'll ever love her. It's always been ya for me, Y/N."

Your mind begins to race. Do you go back to Finn's and get what you both want? Do you call it a night and maybe regret not going back to Finn's?

No matter what you choose, you'll probably regret in the future. Plus the hope of one day being with him again is the reason you say, "One last night. That's it. That's all you get from me."

Finn pecks your lips and smiles before putting you down and taking you back to his apartment.

As soon as you're back in his apartment, the clothes come off and they stay off until sunrise the next day. You spend all of Christmas Eve mending a broken relationship between you and Finn.

It's a terrible way to fix a broken relationship but you hope it works because you want Finn back in your life. No, you need Finn back in your life.

You just hope things don't get more complicated than they already are after the one last night with Finn.

NXT TakeOver: Portland, 2020 Predictions

First and foremost, I’d like to say that, there will be and there should be a Good Bye ceremony for Cathy Kelley who is leaving WWE after TakeOver: Portland. Thank you Cathy. I love you and NXT won’t be the same without you.

Adam Cole (C) vs Tomasso Ciampa in a Singles Match for the NXT Championship: Difficult match to predict. I imagine this going in two ways. Cole can keep the title until Tampa where he will drop it to Ciampa or Gargano only for the Undisputed Era to show up in Raw or SD Live the night after WrestleMania. Or, Cole drops the title at Portland to set up the title match that was promised between Ciampa and Gargano at TakeOver: Tampa, the night before WrestleMania. But how will Finn Balor fit into this picture? I have a gut feeling that Adam Cole will retain. Winner: Adam Cole.

Rhea Ripley (C) vs Bianca Belair in a Singles Match for the NXT Women’s Championship: Belair deserves more. But we all know Ripley vs Charlotte is happening at WrestleMania. Belair pulling of a win will be huge, but I don’t see it happening. Winner: Rhea Ripley.

Keith Lee (C) vs Dominik Dijakovic in a Singles Match for the NXT North American Championship: I will never get tired of these two men going at each other. Lee will have a good title reign. This is just his first defense. Winner: Keith Lee.

The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’ Reilly) (C) vs Broserweights (Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle) Tag Team Match for the NXT Tag Team Championships: The prophecy was great while it lasted. Being a huge UE fan I wish it lasted a little longer. With the NA championship gone, the tag team titles will be next to be dropped from the hands of the UE. Good things never last forever right. The fall of UE will continue. Winner: Broserweights.

Johnny Gargano vs Finn Balor in a Singles Match: This match will be fun. After putting Gargano on the shelf and making him miss WarGames, it will be a chance for Finn Balor to finally face Gargano inside the ring. Balor will win to keep the heel momentum he is on right now going. Only time will tell what’s next for Johnny Wrestling. Winner: Finn Balor.

Dakota Kai vs Tegan Nox in a Street Fight: Best friends turned bitter enemies, Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox will finally get a chance to go at each other, street style. With Tegan Nox winning the previous encounter, it’ll be a chance for Dakota Kai to even the score and show the vicious side of her that she revealed at WarGames. Tegan Nox can settle this rivalry by winning the rubber match. Winner: Dakota Kai.

Fantasy Booking WWE Survivor Series 2019

With Survivor Series about a month away, I’m gonna suggest a card which’d be promising and plausible in the current roster. Of course this booking is entirely fictitious and I don’t expect WWE to follow suit with it, it’s just an idea I had. May be spoilers for future NXT Tapings

The Unchanged Climate

Right now, WWE is losing the Wednesday Night Wars...which is bad business-wise even if it is bringing us brilliant wrestling from both companies on Wednesday night (or in my case Thursday morning since UK time and full time jobs), so WWE will need to pull out some stops. However, with Saudibowl IV basically being a glorified and convoluted house show, I can’t expect there to be any actual changes to the list of champions, sadly we will rob the Fiend of the HIAC victory he should’ve had, Cesaro will be jobbed to Mansoor for a hometown pop and Velasquez/Lesnar will probably be a slog due to the former’s inexperience and WWE wanting to keep the belt on Brock so we can flush any decent storylines with Rey Mysterio down the drain...So, with Crown Jewel finishing, what would be next for booking in the build to Survivor Series?

This is Not an Invasion, this is a Takeover

NXT has proven itself legitimate enough to stand as an independent brand, with accomplished and talented wrestlers preferring to stay there rather than go to the ‘main roster’. Despite being the better and more consistently good show, NXT is still the red-headed Stepchild, so we build Survivor Series with a Civil War kind of scenario; NXT vs WWE. This would also be a chance to redo the Invasion angle correctly. So we start the initial build of this with NXT making themselves known on the Raw after, and NXT UK following suit on Smackdown, we get some build there and then 205 get involved, turning on Smackdown to side with NXT: Main Roster vs the Alternatives.

Champion vs Champion

The current roster of champions is quite perfect for a scenario such as this, most of the Champion vs Champion matches can all prove to be show-stealers. Imagine it

That as a normal card would sell mountains. This feud can also cater to the Women’s Tag and the 24/7 Title shenanigans, perhaps the Kabuki Warriors can take on non-champions Team Kick (Tegan Nox & Dakota Kai) while R-Truth shares the love in some comedic skits throughout.

Two for the Price of One

The downside of having so many potential matches would be not having enough time to do all of them, it would be expected to have at least 2 Traditional Survivor Series matches and you don’t want to leave the massive roster pool lacking. So maybe we don’t have all these matches on Survivor Series, maybe we don’t need to do them all on the same day...this is where a stroke of genius could come into play. Using the Main Roster not only to buff NXT’s ratings but to consume the audience’s weekend in one blow.

NXT TakeOver: Survive

Instead of just one PPV, we do two. We split the Champion vs Champion cards down the middle, therefore giving Survivor Series the chance to have 3 5v5s (Tag, Women and Men) but also allowing the other members of the roster to not simply be reduced to Pre-Shows. With a Saturday NXT TakeOver followed by Survivor Series WWE would be able to hype up the entire weekend, we can also provide matches such as

Imperium or British Strong Style vs the New Day

Fiend vs Demon Balor

Cesaro vs Kassius Ohno (or they could reunite as the Kings of Pro Wrestling)

Harper vs Dijakovic

Velveteen Dream vs Aleister Black II

Buddy Murphy vs KUSHIDA

and potentially much more depending on who gets picked for the 5v5. But making NXT TO: Survive an equal tandem to Survivor Series would definitely be something out of the current norm and provide us with refreshing new matches or matches with wrestlers we already know have good chemistry. The One Thing WWE Should NOT Do with This The Invasion failed for many reasons, but the main one was that ego got in the way far too much. Last year’s SS was an absolute atrocity as WWE tried to cover Raw’s shortcomings by not only having Shane McMahon be Smackdown’s lone survivor in an Authority cluster-F but also have Raw trounce Smackdown in the ‘brand war’, this is something they can’t do here. They would have to give ‘Team NXT’ a lot of big wins over established wrestlers, and cleanly so that NXT is treated viably. You can’t just bury the brand you want to beat AEW on the PPVs and expect people to continue tuning in, so whatever the outcomes it has to make all the brands look strong and have consequences for the results, losers forced to defend in multi-persons, NXT-WWE feuds carrying over and Sole Survivors getting pushes. That way, we can get a solid W for WWE on one of their Big Five PPVs

Raw:

Peyton’s CAW theme sounds like menu music from a ps2 game. Terrible. I do like Billie Kay’s music, though.

That shade of lipstick is a no with that gear and hair, I’m sorry.

The blandest most basic stalemate sequence in women’s wrestling.

Great back and forth with the dialogue and slapping. Comedy is where they shine.

Been years yet still I’m surprised every time Billie Kay looks awful in the ring.

That dramatically loud piped in “oh” was a choice.

The way Billie Kay carries Peyton to the turnbuckle just to gently set her down is insanely disappointing.

I like the modified suplex.

The awful way Billie Kay waited around for that awful kick was awful.

The fact that Peyton’s finisher was referred to as merely a “neckbreaker” by the commentators, and their inability to sell its mortality, is all you need to know.

Great we get to hear Peyton’s CAW music again. Anyway.

Shayna is improving at talking, me thinks.

This pairing is good for her. Gives her a personality.

Appreciate Nattie and Lana’s color schemes matching. Points.

Again, Lana has her niche. She’s the singles version of the iiconics: awful af in the ring, but hilarious and can hold her own on the mic.

That Thesz Press was something.

I would prefer to see random Nattie vs Asuka matches tbh.

Asuka had to save Mickie from a near pinfall off of a facebuster. Whew okay.

Mickie slurringly screaming at an empty arena: “I’M GOING UP”. When is SD?

Camera missed the actual ending to the match. Lol okay. Bye.

Shayna and Ruby have negative 30 chemistry.

Nia gets points for mocking Shayna on the outside. “Boooo I’ve seen better,” kekekek

“What do you want me to do? A Samoan Drop?” Shayna mockingly asks Nia. “If you think you can,” Nia responds in doubt. I’m entertained.

pppffffttttt lost to a rollup. “I didn’t do anything. That wasn’t me dude. I don’t know what happened.”

I like the point of all of this. Elevates and strengthens the RS and their bond, while shining a light on how useless Nia and Shayna are as singles competitors. Points for all these shenanigans.

And negative points for pretending the match never happened just cuz Retribution cut the power. Anyway.

Why does the entirety of the Mercedes/Rhea feud consist of backstage promos and random attacks?

Shotzi and Io could be a fun tag team. Might make me like Shotzi.

Right I get why Mercedes wants to destroy Rhea, but I am gonna be really fucking disappointed if she succeeds. I don’t mind Rhea losing feuds or matches if there’s a point to it. Such as Charlotte (yeah I said it) it was vital to Rhea’s gargantuan push for her to endure a setback, and she was better off for losing at wm.

Right off the bat I don’t like how many weapons are being thrown into the steel cage. The beauty in gimmick matches is to use what’s within the confines of the match to create magic, not make every single match a TLC match. Like y’all are in a cage. Utilize the cage. None of the build requires this stuff.

This is gonna sound silly, but Mercedes needs to learn to audibly groan or something to sell offense. She’s like a mime.

I liked the German suplex off the top rope.

Rhea threw a fucking chair up at Mercedes’ face. Nice.

Beautiful dropkick and suplex. 

Awkward yet painful looking top rope neckbreaker.

Love the image of Robert Stone just dangling off the top in the background.

Riptide through the table. Great finish.

It wasn’t insanely compelling, and I’m not too much of a fan of Mercedes, but there were some really cool spots. Fine match. Spotty, but at least the spots were good.

Smackdown:

Love that Bayley carries around the chair, but I wish the chair had played more of a part in the attack against Sasha.

I like the sitting in the ring aspect. Don’t see that with women a lot. Love that she didn’t say a word before replaying the video footage as well.

Again wishing this had a crowd to gauge their reactions.

Great callback to Battleground 2016.

Not a fan of her insinuating Sasha has been manipulating her for 5 years, that’s awkward.

“You pretended to be my best friend, but all along you were using me, and do you know how I know that? Because I was using you.” Weak.

“I never cared about you, and I damn sure never cared about our friendship.” Weak and unbuyable.

So I’m not gonna make fun of her stutter/fuck up, but I am going to stress how much it affected my level of care. Sounds dramatic but it’s true. This is the second most important promo of Bayley’s career so far, and it seriously failed to live up to: Becky’s promo after turning on Charlotte, Sasha’s promo after turning on Nattie, and Bayley’s promo after turning on Becky. This is supposed to set the tone for the rest of the feud, and I ended up rating it disappointing as a whole. Shame. Anyway.

Love how Nikki interrupted Bayley’s exit. Points. The whole lockerroom oughta despise Bayley by now. Great work having Bayley hit her with a chair too lmao.

Alexa’s hairrrr kekekek

Tamina “these bitches are crazy” Snuka, everyone.

That was nice; Alexa goes for a ddt, Tamina avoids by holding the ropes, goes to stomp on Alexa, Alexa dodges and rolls away, stands up and is met with the boot.

Nikki ran the lower 2 ropes. Points cuz more women should do that, incidental or not.

So Cole mentions Fiend’s name and it sends Alexa into a trance - something we’ve seen before. She mindlessly grabs Nikki, bends her down, kisses her head, and while staring at Cole, does a Sister Abigail then leaves. Intriguing. Imagine insisting that Alexa isn’t a good actress, goodbye.

Ugly looking clothesline on Lacey, but I mean that as a compliment. Great landing.

Lmao so Lacey avoids a near pinfall entirely by just rolling away (obviously not planned) and then Tamina jumps in like she’s saving a damn title, breaking up essentially nothing. When Nikki Cross is the best worker a multiwoman match can offer, we have a problem.

Your matches were always heated and when she went to NXT, you stopped seeing each other

So, like, nobody really talked about your old feud

Then, you get signed to NXT and she makes her return from the MYC injuries

She had a match against you and the energy and tension is palpable 

After the match, she kisses you in the parking lot

You kiss her back and the two of you go home together

This continues for the next few weeks

You have matches, one of you kisses the other in the parking lot, and you fuck at said person’s apartment

Candice sets you up on a real date

You talk and it turns out you have a lot in common

Tegan likes taking you to the park and playing soccer with you

You make sure she takes it easy on the knees

No matter what, the dates end in sex

It’s always somewhat rough, even if you don’t intend it to be

A few weeks into becoming exclusive and Tegan tells her friends

When Dakota turns on Tegan, she attacks you and that’s when Tegan decides it might as well be war

The two of you start teaming up together to fight Dakota

Dakota tries to jump you before you get in the building one day and the best way to describe the fist fight between Tegan and Dakota is Denny’s parking lot at 2:36 AM

So, WWE Universe! What got you excited this week?

Was it the return of Goldberg, LIVE and in person on Friday Night SmackDown? Or maybe it was the Bella Twins getting the nod into the WWE Hall of Fame? Was it Randy Orton’s thorough thrashing of Matt Hardy? The return to the ring of The Velveteen Dream and that sweet entrance! Or maybe, it was the continued heartbreak of the Mandy-Otis coupling.

I don’t know about you, but outside of Orton, all of that played second fiddle.

Hands down, the best show of the week goes to the folks from Full Sail! NXT TakeOver: Portland dominated the WWE airwaves on the WWE Network. Champions stood tall, new tag team champs crowned on a night that looked like The Undisputed Era looked to lose all the gold, only to see Johnny Gargano turn on his friend and former foe, Tommaso Ciampa moments before he was going to get his NXT Championship back.

Across the board from in-ring to furthering storylines to crowd excitement, NXT led the way. And that’s the way it’s been lately. RAW’s been better in the past few weeks, but SmackDown has really lacked that “it” factor. That surprises me that the level of “WOW” just hasn’t been there for the blue brand, especially considering how much FOX is spending for it. That 2.4 million viewers a week is a nice, safe number, but FOX at some point will ask why the needle hasn’t moved much. Plus, just watching the show, you can see that it’s lacking the drama and needed creativity.

Simply put, imagine how much different the Road to WrestleMania would look, especially for the women if not for NXT! We wouldn’t have Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair. We wouldn’t have Shayna Baszler (ahem, possibly) against Becky Lynch. Two of the hottest stories across the brands!

With Super Showdown this Thursday in Saudi Arabia, expect things to get much clearer on the Road to WrestleMania. After all, remember, we do get the return of John Cena as well Friday night in Boston on SmackDown. Then, it’s Elimination Chamber just over one week later on March 8th.

Star of the Week:

It’s not a person or particular person this week. It’s a match. The Symphony of Destruction Match between Braun Strowman/Elias vs. Shinsuke Nakamura/Cesaro. In just its second edition, this match was fun, physical, entertaining and all four, plus Sami Zayn, really had me invested! Unfortunately, that piano didn’t cooperate. Damn, those backs must have felt that one! Well done guys!

Overall:

This one just didn’t have that “it” factor either this week. The show seemed off all night. Nothing really stuck out other than Randy Orton’s deletion of Matt Hardy. This is the Road to WrestleMania and the WWE needs to start treating that way with must-see shows EVERY week. This one seemed like a take-off week instead after some very good shows.

What we loved:

Red-hot RKO – The hottest heel on the planet continues to be one Randy Orton. We thought The Viper put Matt Hardy to pasture last week, but that attack was nothing compared to a pair of conchairto shots in and out of the ring this week. Scary to think that at one point, Orton had the crowd cheering him to give Hardy one more shot. You have to wonder what Orton has in store next.

Substance to The Street Profits – It’s good to see the WWE finally using The Street Profits for more than just comedic fodder. Their infusion into the main even match with Seth Rollins and his Monday Night Messiah Minions gives the storyline some freshness.

No squash here – How about that! Instead of a pair of squashes for Aleister Black and Erik Rowan, we get a physical match between the two. Plus, Black gets elevated into what looks to be a mid-card match WrestleMania. Nice step up for Mr. Black.

Hey Lucy, you got some ‘splanin to do:

Hard-ly any help – It always bothers me when there will be a flurry of help from the locker room for some random disturbance in the ring, yet when there’s a vicious attack on a fan favorite, like this week on Matt Hardy, absolutely no one comes out to help! Why is that? Does Matt Hardy have no friends after more than two decades in the company? He was out there getting his ass and neck killed for almost ten minutes. Makes no sense. Even Humberto Carrillo has gotten help at one point.

Becky vs. Shayna – Why exactly is Becky Lynch shelling out money for what she’ll do to Shayna Baszler? Why is Baszler’s s-bomb not bleeped and is she getting the non-PG treatment on purpose? Is it me, or is the Elimination Chamber just a mere formality?

What we didn’t love:

24/7 – It seems we’ve lost some creative and fun to the once beloved 24/7 title. The past few weeks, it’s just turned into another throwaway match. I need it to return to the wild, crazy, out of the ring, defended everywhere mayhem it was the first few months.

Overall:

Coming out what so far could be the show of the year at TakeOver: Portland, NXT delivers another solid, but lacking big moments show. A pair of champions, Keith Lee and The BroserWeights, looked strong while The Velveteen Dream steals the show, dealing another nightmarish ending to TUE with a clean win over Roderick Strong. I am VERY curious to see where Bianca Belair will land after calling out Charlotte Flair again. Belair, despite the loss at TakeOver: Portland, remains a rockstar with a tremendous upside.

The Dream Delights – Great to see TVD back in the ring in the main event. Match of the night between the Dream and Roderick Strong delivers on what it promised. Plus, an expected beatdown keeps the feud going.

Ciampa’s challenge – Not only did Tommaso Ciampa challenge former partner and nemesis Johnny Gargano’s spot in NXT, but also set up a battle next week vs. Austin Theory. Ciampa’s chomping at the bit to not only get Gargano, but another shot at Goldie and the NXT Championship.

Celebrate the cruiserweights – Jordan Devlin and Lio Rush got out Wednesday night off to a hot start with a thrilling title match start. Rush has really changed my mind on him with his latest run in NXT. Devlin has definitely taken the baton and kept the cruiserweight championship at an elevated state.

What we didn’t love:

Home not-so-sweet Home – After a capacity crowd in Portland, Oregon Sunday night at TakeOver: Portland, it was a bit of a letdown to go back to Full Sail Wednesday night. I’ll say it once and I’ll say it every week until it changes, NXT has to go big or stay home (and stay safe). Staying safe isn’t going to cut it against All Elite Wrestling, who continues to bang it out in bigtime arenas on a week-in, week-out basis.

What we loved:

Tag-team toughness – LOVED a little smack talk between The Usos and The New Day before a good ol’ fashioned tussle to start the night with The Miz, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Always quality stuff from these 8 men in the ring! Plus, always a little tease for a fight down the road if a turn’s needed.

Standing O for Symphony – LOVED all the musical destruction between Elias, Braun Strowman, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. Tag teams are ruling the night and count me as one if they wanted to push Elias and Strowman as future tag champs. Good chemistry and the crowd loves both of them at the moment.

Stalking Otis – Otis is about to snap my friends! Simmer. Simmer. Boil! It’s coming, folks! Mr. Ziggler is about to get a whooping! Can’t wait to see where they take it before getting that feel good moment we all know is coming, but will all stand tall and enjoy when it comes!

Goldberg spears The Fiend….and that’s it – I get that you have to put some kind of notion that Goldberg could actually beat Bray Wyatt/The Fiend at Super Showdown. But, it was oh so predictable in how it was laid out, complete with Goldberg telling us how it would happen. There’s ZERO chance The Fiend loses at Super Showdown on the Road to WrestleMania.

Meh:

Naomi vs. Carmella – Flat and clunky at times. Don’t get me wrong, it was fine, but for a main event, I need to be wowed. If not, it’s just there. Kind of like this whole episode of SmackDown. It was just there.

Bryan vs. Slater II – Why?

Parting shots:

Congrats to the Bella Twins as the newest announced inductees to the WWE Hall of Fame!

How about the latest rumor – WWE in talks with ESPN to show their PPV’s on the ESPN+ streaming service. Could be a big blow to the WWE Network, but worth guaranteed money for the WWE and more mainstream publicity from ESPN. Something to watch as this one could develop quickly – BEFORE WrestleMania.

Super Showdown is next Thursday in Saudi Arabia at 12pm (ET) on the WWE Network.
