The soft glow of candlelight flickered across the table, casting warm shadows over the intimate dinner setup Drew had prepared. Y/n couldn’t help but smile as she took in the sight—the elegant arrangement of roses in the center, the carefully plated meal, and the way Drew was looking at her with that familiar, affectionate gleam in his eyes.

“This is perfect.” 

She murmured, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand, Drew’s fingers curled around hers, his grip firm yet gentle. 

“Only the best for my love, you deserve all this and more..” 

He said with a grin, his Scottish accent making the words sound even more endearing. Y/n felt her heart swell. This was their first Valentine’s Day together and it had been absolutely perfect. They had spent the day running little errands together, Y/n taking them out for a cute lunch. They had traded letters and shared a box of chocolate.

For dinner she had thought maybe they would do something simple. A movie night, maybe dinner at their favorite restaurant. But Drew had gone above and beyond, transforming their home into a romantic getaway. The dining area was adorned with fairy lights, and the rich scent of home-cooked food lingered in the air. She had always known he was a romantic at heart, but this? This was something else.

“You really cooked all this?” 

She teased, raising a brow as she glanced at the perfectly seared steak and creamy mashed potatoes on her plate. Accompanied by her favorite drink, Drew chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. 

“I might’ve had a little help from YouTube.”

Y/n laughed, shaking her head fondly as she reached over giving his hand a light squeeze.. “Well, it smells amazing my love and the effort alone makes it the best Valentine’s dinner ever.”

As they ate, the conversation flowed effortlessly, filled with laughter, teasing, and heartfelt moments. Drew told stories from his time on the road, and Y/n shared the little things that had made her day special. Every now and then, he’d reach out to brush a stray hair from her face or press a quick kiss to her knuckles, as if he couldn’t resist touching her.

After dinner, Drew led her to the living room where he had set up a cozy space with blankets and pillows in front of the fireplace. A classic romantic movie played in the background. But Y/n found herself paying more attention to the man beside her than the screen.

“You know this might be my favorite Valentine’s Day ever.”

She whispered, laying her head on his shoulder closing her eyes for a moment. Drew’s arm tightened around her, his lips pressing against her temple. 

“It’s only the first of many, love, and I’ll make sure each one is better than the last.”

He promised her, Y/n smiled, tilting her head up to capture his lips in a slow, lingering kiss. In that moment, wrapped in his warmth with the soft crackling of the fire in the background. She knew Drew wasn’t just her boyfriend, he was her home.
