Hey so me & Malcolm's cell service got shut down today. I was going to pay for it to be restored but unfortunately the copay for my emergency dental work was just under $100 and I'm completely broke.
The good news is I do get paid tomorrow, but because I was only in for one day last week, I won't have enough to get groceries, pay for transit to and from work next week, and pay off my phone bill, as well as the copay for the last bit of dental work I need done Saturday & any meds they prescribe. So I thought I would at least try and ask if anyone out there would be willing to help out, even a little.
Thank you for reading/sharing/donating if you're able to help.
#mutual aid#help#donations#i hate to do this but my immune system is still recovering from the bed bug trauma and any infection at all wipes me out completely#ironically the stress from constant health issues resulted in neglecting my teeth and the level of decay is serious#i had a couple teeth fixed already but Saturday they're removing 2 teeth entirely i believe#i think i only need to cover the cost of the anaesthetic though the extractions are free i believe

Debunking Common Myths about Wisdom Teeth: Fact vs. Fiction
Introduction
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last set of teeth to emerge in the oral cavity. These teeth typically erupt between the ages of 17 and 25. Due to their late arrival, wisdom teeth often cause concern and confusion among individuals. There are numerous myths and misconceptions surrounding wisdom teeth, which can lead to unnecessary worry or misunderstandings. In this article, we will debunk common myths about wisdom teeth and provide factual information to help you make informed decisions regarding your oral health.
Debunking Common Myths about Wisdom Teeth: Fact vs. Fiction
Myth 1: Everyone Needs to Have Their Wisdom Teeth Removed
Contrary to popular belief, not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed. While some individuals may experience complications due to impacted or misaligned wisdom teeth, others may have fully erupted and properly aligned wisdom teeth that do not require extraction. It is essential to consult with a dental professional who can assess your specific situation and provide personalized advice.
Myth 2: Wisdom Teeth Extraction Always Requires Surgery
Although surgical extraction is necessary in some cases, it is not always the norm. If your wisdom teeth have fully erupted, are properly aligned, and do not pose any risks or oral health issues, a simple extraction procedure may be sufficient. A dental professional will evaluate the condition of your wisdom teeth and recommend the appropriate course of action.
Myth 3: Wisdom Teeth Cause Crowding of Other Teeth
One prevalent myth is that wisdom teeth cause crowding of the other teeth in the mouth. However, studies have shown that wisdom teeth do not exert enough pressure to cause significant shifting or crowding of adjacent teeth. Other factors, such as genetics, jaw size, and oral habits, play a more significant role in dental crowding. If you experience crowding, it is best to consult with an orthodontist for a comprehensive evaluation and appropriate treatment options.
Myth 4: Wisdom Teeth Always Lead to Infections
While it is true that partially erupted or impacted wisdom teeth can be more susceptible to infections, it is not an automatic consequence. Proper oral hygiene, including regular brushing, flossing, and rinsing with an antiseptic mouthwash, can help maintain good oral health and minimize the risk of infections. If you have concerns about your wisdom teeth, it is essential to seek professional dental advice.
Myth 5: All Wisdom Teeth Extraction Procedures Are Painful
The fear of pain associated with wisdom teeth extraction is a common concern among individuals. However, advancements in dental techniques and anesthesia have significantly improved the extraction process, minimizing discomfort and pain. Dental professionals employ local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia to ensure a pain-free procedure. Following post-operative instructions and taking prescribed medications can help manage any discomfort during the healing process.
Myth 6: Wisdom Teeth Will Always Cause Problems Later in Life
While it is true that wisdom teeth can lead to complications, such as infections, tooth decay, or gum disease, not everyone will experience these issues. Regular dental check-ups and X-rays can help monitor the condition of your wisdom teeth and detect any potential problems early on. Your dentist will provide guidance on whether extraction is necessary or if other preventive measures can be taken.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
FAQ 1: Are all wisdom teeth impacted?
No, not all wisdom teeth are impacted. In some cases, wisdom teeth can fully erupt and align properly with the adjacent teeth. It is essential to have regular dental check-ups to assess the condition of your wisdom teeth.
FAQ 2: Can wisdom teeth cause sinus problems?
Wisdom teeth are not directly linked to sinus problems. Sinus issues are typically related to nasal congestion, allergies, or other sinus-related conditions. If you are experiencing sinus problems, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional.
FAQ 3: Can I keep my wisdom teeth if they are not causing any pain or discomfort?
If your wisdom teeth are fully erupted, properly aligned, and not causing any oral health issues, your dentist may recommend keeping them. However, regular monitoring is necessary to ensure their condition remains stable.
FAQ 4: What are the signs of impacted wisdom teeth?
Impacted wisdom teeth may exhibit symptoms such as pain, swelling, redness, bad breath, difficulty opening the mouth, or an unpleasant taste in the mouth. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is crucial to seek dental attention.
FAQ 5: How long does it take to recover from wisdom teeth extraction?
The recovery period after wisdom teeth extraction varies for each individual. Generally, it takes about one to two weeks to heal fully. Following post-operative instructions, such as maintaining proper oral hygiene and avoiding certain foods, can help expedite the healing process.
FAQ 6: Can I drive home after a wisdom teeth extraction procedure?
If you undergo a surgical extraction that involves general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, it is recommended to arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home. The effects of anesthesia can impair your judgment and coordination, making it unsafe to drive.
Conclusion
Understanding the truth behind common myths about wisdom teeth is crucial for making informed decisions about your oral health. While some individuals may need to have their wisdom teeth removed due to complications, others may be able to keep them without any issues. Regular dental check-ups, maintaining proper oral hygiene, and seeking professional advice are key to managing your wisdom teeth effectively. Remember, every individual is unique, and your dentist is the best person to guide you through the decision-making process.

Affordable Wisdom Tooth Extraction and Bonding Teeth Cost: What You Need to Know
When it comes to dental care, many people have concerns about the costs involved, particularly for procedures like wisdom tooth extraction and bonding teeth. If you鈥檝e been putting off these treatments because of cost concerns, it鈥檚 important to understand your options and what factors can impact the price. In this blog, we鈥檒l explore how you can find affordable wisdom tooth extraction and bonding teeth cost, along with some useful tips for navigating dental procedures.
Understanding Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Wisdom teeth, the third molars at the back of your mouth, often cause problems due to crowding or impaction. As a result, many people opt for wisdom tooth extraction to prevent further dental issues. However, the cost of this procedure can vary depending on a variety of factors including the complexity of the extraction, location, and whether the procedure requires sedation.
On average, the cost of wisdom tooth extraction can range from $200 to $1,000 per tooth, depending on these variables. For those seeking an affordable wisdom tooth extraction, it's essential to consult with multiple dental clinics. Many offer financing options or have special deals for new patients, making it easier to afford the procedure.
Bonding Teeth: A Cost-Effective Cosmetic Option
Dental bonding is a popular cosmetic procedure for repairing minor tooth imperfections, such as chips, cracks, or gaps. It involves the application of a tooth-colored resin that is shaped and hardened to restore the appearance of the affected tooth. The cost of bonding teeth can vary based on the size of the area being treated, but on average, the procedure can cost anywhere between $100 to $400 per tooth.
While bonding is a relatively affordable solution compared to other cosmetic dental procedures, it鈥檚 still a good idea to explore your options for the best bonding teeth cost. Many dentists offer competitive pricing, and some may even provide discounts for multiple treatments or for patients who need extensive bonding work done.
Tips for Reducing Dental Costs
Whether you're looking for an affordable wisdom tooth extraction or trying to get the best bonding teeth cost, here are some tips that may help reduce your overall dental expenses:
Insurance Coverage: If you have dental insurance, check to see if wisdom tooth extraction and bonding teeth procedures are covered. Some insurance plans offer partial coverage, which can significantly lower the overall cost.
Flexible Payment Plans: Many dental clinics offer flexible payment plans for patients who may not be able to pay the full cost upfront. These plans can make dental work more accessible.
Seek Out Special Promotions: Keep an eye out for special promotions or discounts offered by dental clinics. Some dentists offer discounted rates for new patients or seasonal deals that can make procedures more affordable.
Preventive Care: The best way to avoid costly dental work in the future is to prioritize preventive care. Regular check-ups and cleanings can help prevent issues like impacted wisdom teeth or tooth decay, ultimately saving you money in the long run.
Conclusion
Both affordable wisdom tooth extraction and bonding teeth cost are achievable with a little research and careful planning. By exploring various options, speaking with your dentist about payment plans, and utilizing insurance benefits when possible, you can find a solution that works for your budget. Whether you're addressing wisdom tooth problems or enhancing your smile with bonding, don't let cost be the deciding factor in getting the dental care you need.

Safe and Effective Teeth Whitening: The Professional Way
In today鈥檚 world where first impressions matter more than ever, a bright, confident smile can be your best accessory. One of the most popular cosmetic聽dental treatment聽that people turn to first when enhancing their smile, is teeth whitening. But with so many options available, how do you know which one is right for you? We hope this article provides useful insight into teeth whitening in helping you make a better-informed decision.
Why do teeth become discoloured?
Before diving into the whitening process, it鈥檚 important to understand why teeth lose their luster in the first place. Teeth can become discoloured for various reasons:
Diet: Consuming foods and drinks like coffee, tea, red wine, and certain fruits can stain your teeth over time.
Smoking: Tobacco use is a major cause of teeth discoloration.
Age:聽As we age, the outer enamel layer of our teeth gets thinner, revealing the yellowish dentin beneath.
Medications:聽Certain medications, like antibiotics or antihistamines, can cause tooth discoloration as a side effect.
Poor Oral Hygiene:聽Inadequate brushing and flossing can lead to plaque buildup, which can cause teeth to look yellow or dull.
What is teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that involves the use of bleaching agents to lighten the color of your teeth. This can be done in a dental office, at home with a dentist鈥檚 guidance, or with over-the-counter whitening products. The goal is to remove stains and brighten your smile by several shades.
Is teeth whitening safe?
When performed correctly, teeth whitening is safe. However, it鈥檚 essential to follow your dentist鈥檚 instructions or the product鈥檚 guidelines to avoid potential risks like enamel damage or increased sensitivity. Always consult with your dentist before starting any whitening treatment, especially if you have existing dental issues like cavities or gum disease.
What to expect during and after teeth whitening
During the whitening process, you may experience some sensitivity or gum irritation, especially if you have sensitive teeth. Your dentist can advise solutions or tips to help manage this discomfort. After treatment, it鈥檚 important to maintain good oral hygiene and avoid foods and drinks that can stain your teeth to prolong the results.
Professional teeth whitening vs Over-the-counter home options
There are two main categories of teeth whitening: professional treatments administered by a dentist and over-the-counter home whitening products. Here鈥檚 a breakdown of each:
1. Professional Teeth Whitening
In-Office Whitening: This is the fastest and most effective method. A high concentration bleaching gel is applied to the teeth, and a special light or laser may be used to enhance the whitening effect. In-office treatments can make your teeth several shades whiter in just one visit.
Take-Home Whitening Kits: These are provided by your dentist and are custom-made to fit your teeth. The kit includes a lower concentration bleaching gel than the in-office treatment but is still more effective than over-the-counter options. You鈥檒l typically wear the trays for a few hours each day or overnight for a week or two.
2. Over-the-counter Whitening Products
Whitening Toothpaste: These contain mild abrasives that can help remove surface stains but don鈥檛 actually change the color of your teeth.
Whitening Strips and Gels: These products are available over the counter and are applied directly to the teeth. They contain a lower concentration of bleaching agents compared to professional treatments, so the results may take longer to appear and may not be significant.
Whitening Mouthwashes: These are the least effective whitening option as the contact time with teeth is very short. However, they can help maintain the results of other whitening treatments.
Why Choose Professional Teeth Whitening?
1. Safe and Effective
One of the most significant advantages of professional teeth whitening is safety. Over-the-counter products often come with risks like enamel damage, gum irritation, or uneven results due to improper application. When you opt for professional treatment, you鈥檙e under the care of a trained dentist who can ensure that the whitening process is both safe and effective. Dentists use proven, reliable products and techniques that protect your teeth and gums while delivering optimal results.
2. Customised to Your Needs
No two smiles are the same, which is why one-size-fits-all whitening products often fail to meet expectations. Professional teeth whitening is tailored to your unique needs. Your dentist will assess your teeth鈥檚 current shade, the underlying causes of discoloration, and your dental history to create a customised treatment plan. This personalised approach ensures that the whitening process is not only more effective but also safer and more comfortable.
3. Long-lasting Results
If you鈥檝e ever used an over-the-counter whitening kit, you know that the results can be underwhelming and short-lived. Professional teeth whitening, however, provides transformative results in a much shorter time frame. In just one session, your teeth can become several shades whiter, giving you the immediate confidence boost you鈥檝e been looking for. Additionally, the results from professional treatments tend to last longer, especially when coupled with proper oral hygiene and care.
4. Research-based Technology for Optimal Whitening
Dentists have access to research-backed whitening technologies, which are significantly more effective compared to anything available over the counter. Whether it鈥檚 a powerful in-office treatment using specialised lights and higher-concentration bleaching agents or custom take-home trays that fit your teeth perfectly, professional treatments are designed to achieve the best possible results that over-the-counter products simply can鈥檛 reach.
5. Holistic聽Dental Care Singapore
Teeth whitening is just one aspect of your overall dental health. When you choose professional whitening, you also benefit from a comprehensive dental check-up. Your dentist will examine your teeth and gums to ensure there are no underlying issues, such as cavities or gum disease, that need to be addressed before whitening. This holistic approach not only ensures the whitening process is safe but also helps maintain your overall oral health.
Conclusion
Professional teeth whitening offers numerous advantages over at-home solutions, from safety and customisation to research-based technology and long-lasting results. By choosing a trusted dental professional, you鈥檙e not only investing in a brighter smile but also in your overall oral health. Don鈥檛 settle for less when it comes to your confidence and well-being.

Complications of Untreated Wisdom Teeth: Risks and Potential Consequences
Introduction
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last set of teeth to emerge in the mouth. They typically appear between the ages of 17 and 25, and for many individuals, they can cause various complications if left untreated. In this comprehensive article, we will explore the risks and potential consequences of untreated wisdom teeth. From infections to misalignment, understanding these complications is crucial for maintaining optimal oral health.
Why Should You Be Concerned?
Ignoring the complications associated with untreated wisdom teeth can lead to long-term problems that may require extensive dental interventions. It's important to address these issues promptly to prevent further discomfort and potential complications.
Complications of Untreated Wisdom Teeth: Risks and Potential Consequences
Impacted Wisdom TeethImpaction occurs when there is not enough space in the mouth for the wisdom teeth to fully emerge or align properly with the rest of the teeth. As a result, these teeth remain partially or fully trapped beneath the gum line. Impacted wisdom teeth can lead to a range of issues, including:
Pain and discomfort in the back of the mouth
Swelling and inflammation of the gums
Difficulty in opening the mouth fully
Bad breath and an unpleasant taste due to bacterial growth
Formation of cysts or tumors in severe casesIt is crucial to consult a dentist if you suspect your wisdom teeth are impacted. They will assess the situation and recommend the appropriate treatment, which may involve extraction.
Dental Crowding and MisalignmentThe late arrival of wisdom teeth can disrupt the alignment of existing teeth. When there is insufficient space for these additional molars, they may push against adjacent teeth, causing crowding and misalignment. This can lead to:
Crooked or overlapping teeth
Changes in bite alignment
Increased risk of tooth decay and gum disease due to difficulty in cleaning crowded areasOrthodontic treatment may be necessary to correct the misalignment caused by wisdom teeth. In some cases, the extraction of the affected teeth might be the most effective solution.
Tooth Decay and Gum DiseaseWisdom teeth are particularly susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease. Their location at the back of the mouth makes them harder to reach and clean thoroughly. As a result, food particles and bacteria can accumulate, leading to:
Cavities and decay in the wisdom teeth
Inflammation and infection of the surrounding gums (pericoronitis)
Receding gums and potential damage to nearby teethRegular dental check-ups and proper oral hygiene, including brushing and flossing, are essential for minimizing the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.
Infections and AbscessesWhen wisdom teeth do not emerge fully or become impacted, they can create pockets of space where bacteria can thrive. This can lead to infections and abscesses, which are painful and require immediate attention. Signs of infection include:
Severe pain in the affected area
Swelling of the face and jaw
Difficulty swallowing or opening the mouth
Foul taste or odor in the mouthDentists may prescribe antibiotics to control the infection temporarily, but extraction of the affected teeth is often necessary to prevent recurrent infections.
Sinus ProblemsThe upper wisdom teeth are located close to the sinuses. When these teeth become infected or develop complications, it can result in sinus problems such as:
Sinus pain and pressure
Chronic sinusitis
Recurrent sinus infectionsAddressing the underlying issues with the wisdom teeth can help alleviate sinus problems and restore sinus health.
Damage to Adjacent Teeth and JawboneIn some cases, untreated wisdom teeth can cause damage to nearby teeth and even the jawbone. The pressure exerted by impacted wisdom teeth can lead to:
Resorption of the roots of adjacent teeth
Formation of cysts or tumors that may erode the jawbone
Increased risk of fractures or damage to the jawTimely extraction of problematic wisdom teeth can prevent further damage and preserve the overall health of your mouth.
