So here is teenage me I had to be about 16 so give and take this was taken in 2007! That's about the same age I started watching The Nanny! Whether or not I am in this picture I can't remember that far back 🤣. I'm getting old lol.

But I do remember shipping Max/Fran and C.C/Niles hard. I remember the reruns and how they never really were in order and so confused the one day watching the finale and was so confused but yet happy that they got a happy ending☺️.

It wasn't until years later when the DVD set came out that I got to watch it from beginning to end and then everything made sense.

Posting here briefly, as though I'm whispering an aside on stage

Ive been hitting high highs and low lows. With everything that's associated with my particular trauma, a lot of dark thoughts got unearthed during The Incident. It's just been a raw nerve constantly. It's not something I normally think about with a lens of negativity, but that's what's been happening because a lot of irl issues got tied up in this for me a long time ago and I feel like I lost some progress very easily. I can gain it back of course. It just takes time and some work, and trudging though fluctuating breakdowns. Right now it's like ... when I interact with my AU there's an rng encounter roll that determines if it triggers that or not. It's like a sudden intensity of guilt and self-loathing, thinking I deserved what happened to me as a teen (I didn't), that people online will gossip that I condone it as an adult (I don't), and that I am a bad person because I'm writing what TeenageMe needed and wanted to see (I'm not). Then when that begins the spiral, I feel terrified that the resulting emotional instability will turn people away from me, so I isolate in an effort to "get rid of myself first". And that's not a healthy coping mechanism - it's one I had overcome for several years. It's ok though, it happens. Recovery is not linear. I'm neither a wholly bad nor good person, I just am a person with many facets and experiences and that's what it means to be alive and human.

It's my silly little story with my silly little ship, it's my reclamation and no one is allowed to stain it like that for unfounded reasons, so I shouldn't let that happen.

A while back I wrote this as a journal exercise to process a lot of those feelings, but didn't post it on Tumblr or anything. Im just going to share it here now because it feels right, I think. It's relevant to how I feel again now as I'm back in this spot, but it's helpful to revisit as catharsis.

How’s these for a little throwback Thursday? These were my senior pictures oh .. way back in the 90’s. My uncle took them for me. They didn’t make the yearbook but still.
