Gut Health πŸš¨β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Highly recommend this product to feed your gut with good bacteria! Loads of good ingredients 50 minerals and herbs including apple cider vinegar and 14 strands of friendly microbes. After reading a book called #thepsychobioticrevolution @psychobiotic it really got me thinking about the gut-brain connection and how much an unhealthy/unhappy gut can affect our lives and the way we function. Good health isn’t just having a strong bench press or good cardiovascular endurance, it’s important to look after the inside aswell πŸ™πŸΌ πŸ’ for me mental health is 10x more important than physical health! Now go and get a copy of the psychobiotic revolution and watch your mind be blown πŸ“–πŸ€―β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” #gutbrainconnection #guthealth #healthygut #guthealthmatters #johnfcryan #scottcanderson #teddinan #mentalhealth #mindfulness #mind #mindset #ibs #glutenfree #enlightenment #book #mentalhealthawareness #itsokaynottobeokay #health #healthyguthappylife #positivity #positivevibes #happiness #biolive #dairyfree #digestivehealth #fitnessblogger #healthnotdiets #instagood #blogger https://www.instagram.com/p/CAMmjZsBH33/?igshid=q6x4ueju88ft

Podcast Summary: Ten Dinan on Psychobiotics
Ted Dinan on the Psychobiotics, Good Bacteria & the importance of Vigorous Aerobic Exercise - EP7 S https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcF1x9qzzdI
Ted Dinan is a Professor of Psychiatry at University College Cork in Ireland. Β He was previously Chair of Clinical Neurosciences and Professor of Psychological Medicine at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London
27:30 - Bifidum Longum - Ted's research found that anxiety was reduced and cognitive function was much improved. To Ted's surprise, humans received the same benefits (i.e., less anxious and improved cognitive function). When they mapped the electrical activity in the brain using EEG showed altered brain function. This specific strain of Bifidum Longum that they used is not commercially available. Is it possible that general Bifidum Longum might have a similar effect? How important is strain specificity? 28:50 - Ted says take prebiotic - Inulin (in foods such as Chicory, Celery, Jerusalem Artichoke); FOS; GOS. This induces the growth of good bacteria. 30:45 - Junk food diet causes a constriction of bacteria in our intestine (Tim Spector at King’s College London). Thus, food is able to alter the microbiome. 31:20 - For good health we need diversity of microbiota. Only way to do this is to have a wide variety in our diet. A diet that is too restrictive is not good for microbiota. 34:55 - Vigorous aerobic exercise improves retention of new material. The only natural way of converting stem cells in the brain into neurons is aerobic exercise.
