Hey Flawseer, love your art. I wanted to ask if you have any headcanons for some of the supporting characters who aren't really tied to the school, like Chameleon, Icicle, Hailstorm, etc.

Headcanons for specifically those characters? Hm...

This isn't really a headcanon, more of a "this is implied but not outright stated" kind of thing, but Chameleon's childhood was the stuff of nightmares. He hatched with a physical deformity that prevented him from sleeping more than an hour at a time. Think about what that would be like, to never be able to rest, to be tired and exhausted every day.

Child Chameleon is also an interesting window into the darker aspects of Rainwing society. The books often portray their society as idyllic, something pure and optimistic, something to aspire to. But then they had this kid who was suffering in his body, who didn't develop the expected Rainwing traits properly, and they shunned him. Even sweet, lovable, couldn't-hurt-anyone Jambu calls him weird and off-putting for not being able to change colors. We don't know why Chameleon ended up exiled; maybe it was a malicious act or maybe Chameleon lashed out and had to be removed for being dangerous. But it definitely makes you wonder if there are any other skeletons in the Rainwings' closet.

None of this excuses any of the stunts he pulled later as an adult, especially not the emotional manipulation of his daughter. But thinking about his crappy childhood may help you understand how he ended up the way he did. I hope he can find some help.

As for headcanons about Chameleon... I think he eats meat. His biology isn't really wired for it, so it tastes absolutely disgusting to him. But he does it anyway, because while he hates the taste of meat so much, he hates the idea of being a Rainwing several times more. So he puts up with it because he knows it is the least Rainwing-like thing you can do. In a strange way, it helps him cope.

For Icicle, I think it is interesting to note that we technically never see her under normal circumstances. She appears in Jade Mountain in book 6 and certainly leaves an impression, but it's easy to forget that everything she does, she does with the awareness that Scarlet currently has a proverbial knife to her brother's throat. Thus, we never get to see what present day Icicle is like when she is able to relax.

Headcanons... The books aren't clear on how or when Scarlet made first contact with her. It could have been in school, as Moonwatcher overhears. Personally, I think Scarlet actually contacted Icicle months prior to the school opening, and instructed Icicle to insert herself as a sleeper agent. I have trouble believing that immaculate Icicle would WANT to be cooped up underground in a dirty cave with a bunch of strangers several miles from home. I think Scarlet made her do it, and she then begged Queen Glacier to send her there, knowing full well she was gonna hate it. Winter then overheard her begging and begged to come along too.

This lends weight to the scene where Icicle finally breaks down in front of Winter. The part where she's her authentic self for the first time, crying and begging Winter not to let her fall asleep so the woman who has been tormenting her inside her own head for months can't tell her that she failed and that her brother is dead.

In the end, her brother is alive. But in trying to get him free, Icicle ruined her own life.

This one might be controversial, I don't know. While I do think Icicle served in the war, and she did definitely kill Mudwings while doing so, I don't think Icicle is the one who killed Crane. Sora insists it was her, but Umber and Marsh do not recognize her, and Mudwing siblings usually fight together, so they would have both been present during her death too.

I think the story becomes more meaningful if the trauma of war just ruined Sora to such an extent that she sees her sister's killer in every somewhat outspoken female Icewing. Then she ran into the library and confirmation-biased herself into believing her hunch by reading unverified essays on Icewing genetics. You know, the same library whose references on Mudwing physiology consist entirely of The Slug-like Qualities of the Mudwings. If Wisemind penned an examination of Icewing physiology too, one can probably imagine how reliable that one would be.

This kind of turns Sora and Icicle into tragic parallels. They are both children born into a war that took their innocence from them, and in the end it ruined them both.

For Hailstorm, I believe after the battle of Jade Mountain ended and Winter got banished, Hailstorm went back to the Ice Kingdom and lived with his mother Tundra for a while. Tundra took the death of her mate very badly and became embittered. She blamed everything bad that happened to their family on Winter, insisted that Winter caused the family to rot. Winter killed the Queen, Winter killed Narwhal, Winter, Winter, Winter, she should have smashed his egg when she had the chance. Hailstorm tried to get her out of the house, to stop talking and thinking about Winter, but nothing worked. She just had her mind set on hating this kid she'd been abusing since his hatching, insisting she gave him the world and he was ungrateful.

Eventually, Hailstorm just couldn't take this constant bleakness and hatred anymore. A few months ago Icewing tradition almost made him kill his little brother and he is just done with the Ice Kingdom. Completely disillusioned. Leave it all behind.

So he goes to Winter, and he starts to ask odd questions, like "If you had never found a way to turn me back from being Pyrite, would you still have loved me", and "If I was a Skywing, would you disown me?" Winter assures him that he will always love him, but starts to get worried about the questions.

Eventually, Hailstorm just flat-out states that he was actually kind of happy with himself as a female Skywing, not having to think about their messed up family and the stupid rankings all the time. He kept thinking about it through their mother's ramblings, how he felt in that body. He's figured out that he wants to go back to being Pyrite, just obviously without the brainwash-y parts. Winter doesn't entirely understand, but wants his brother/sister to be happy, and gives him/her his blessing.

And I guess there you have it. Some of my headcanons. Chameleon the meat eater, the absolute train-wreck that is Icicle's life with a side of Sora, and Hailstorm finds self-affirmation in exploring their gender identity after cutting their toxic mom out of their life.

I've been on a HUGE Devil May Cry kick since last September... With Nero being my current videogame crush...

If you read my last update, this game series is one of the biggest reasons why I haven't been writing on Alana's and Nathaniel's story. I can't write about their love story whenever I can't get my mind off of Nero. So, I took a self-insert that I had made for the Black Clover universe and repurposed her for the DMC universe. In know. I know. I'm thirsty... Finral is still my current anime crush, and I still love Nathaniel, but Nero has taken priority...

So, I had the bright idea to have Alice edit an illustration for me. Nathaniel is the perfect love interest to turn into Nero, so I went with one of his illustrations that doesn't have his right arm in it. Nero gets his human arm back at the end of DMC5, but he spends most of the game with various prosthetics (his Devil Breakers are a key game mechanic). The background is from Season 2 of Eldarya. This image is supposed to be that Nero got a call for a mission while he and Melanie were on a date, so the date had to get cut short. She doesn't want him to go, but knows he needs to. So, she ends up telling him to be safe and to come back to her as soon as possible. If you don't actually wanna read me rant about why I don't ship Nero with Kyrie, then don't read after the cut. If you do, then you're in for a wild ride.

Even though I am well aware that Nero is in a canon coupling with Kyrie, I am not fond of that coupling. In DMC4, Kyrie basically spends the entire game either being a "Sweet little singer", "Devout cult member" or "Damsel in distress"... All while hiding behind Nero and Credo and being used against them by the cult. On top of the fact that she is, technically, his adoptive sister. In DMC5, she's not even present in person... Either only being a voice of reason to Nero at the end of the game, screaming out Nero's name at the beginning of the game, being casually mentioned whenever Nero "messes up", or having a section in Nico's files. Seriously, the most important thing she does in DMC4 is basically the same thing that she does for Nero at the end of DMC5. Apparently, she has more of a presence in Before The Nightmare, but as it doesn't have an English translation (even though I do have a copy of the book), I can't quite count that... I also can't stand the fact that, during an interview for the 4th game, one that's published at the end of the Graphic Arts book that covers 1-4, the creators of the game state that, without her, Nero would have gone on a similar path as his father, Vergil. I cannot accept that. I don't ship him with Nico, but I hate the fact that Nico is clearly nowhere near as "important" as Kyrie, yet she has one hell of a personality that is established throughout DMC5... In fact, Nico has more of a personality in the first 10 minutes of 5, than Kyrie has throughout both 4 and 5. As much as I want to like Kyrie, I cannot stand characters like her. If they're so damn important to one of the main characters, they need to be properly established with more personality traits than "Damsel", "Kind", "Generous", "Beautiful" and "Good singer". Characters without flaws, especially love interests, piss me the fuck off.

I don't ship Nero with Nico because it's established very early on that they have more of a sibling relationship. Nico doesn't see Nero that way... In fact, bare minimum, I think she's at least bisexual. Especially whenever she comments on Lady having a "pretty smoking body" and the way she reacts whenever Nero gives her a look and shakes his head. As a bisexual woman myself, I know gay panic when I see it.

I don't ship Nero with Lady for multiple reasons. On top of the fact that she is way too old for him, and he knows it... I ship her with Dante. Lady is basically his aunt.

Nick’s in love with your writing…(if you already couldn’t tell), but it’s difficult for you to understand why.

Usually, when you'd open up your laptop, it was after a tough shift at your crap job and you just wanted to do something to fill in the time after dinner and before bed. It was always on the shorter side, 100 words each, and was normally just a quick and crappy self-insert fic to satisfy your creative urges from doing a boring-ass job all day. You never really thought your tiny one-shots would attract any attention, but the man you've been staying with proves otherwise.

"NauseAxe_404" is what he called himself, but you've just been calling him 'Nick' for now. He had been reading your old Dumblr blog for who knows how long, and he's taken a major interest in your little shitposts...So much, so that he had taken the time to print out every single one of your posts and personal information pinned to his room's walls. It's extremely creepy...but also sort of charming?

For the last few days or so, you've been held in Nick's hotel room, practically glued to a desk with a typewriter...slowly making your way through a 100-paged fic that he specifically requested of you. Though you technically could stand up and leave...you'd really prefer for your skull to stay in one piece...and not have a bullet put through your temple.

Nick has been staring at you almost the entire time...which only certified in your mind that he is not human. Every time you turn to see if he's still there...like an unmoving fortress, he always is. It's been a solid 8+ hours of you sitting there and writing...and your stomach starts to emit loud sounds of hunger. You pray he didn't hear that, and continue to type away at the dated machine. However, to your dismay, his deep voice chimes in.

"...What page are you on...?"

Nick asks, seemingly trying to speak quietly for you, but his naturally booming voice isn't giving you any favors.

"...uhm..."

You take a moment to review what you have done...it doesn't look like much but it feels like it took AGES to write out...

"About...10? It's not a-"

"That's wonderful, Superstar!"

He cuts you off just as you begin to speak.

Of course, he's going to be ecstatic. You can't fathom why he seems to be so hopelessly in love with whatever you slap on the paper. You're curious..so you begin to speak.

"...uhm...Nick...why do you..take interest in my writing?"

You softly speak, trying to be careful with your words...you can't afford to overstimulate this man.

For a chatty guy...Nick was oddly silent at the ask of this question…or at least for a few seconds.

“I was trying to find a way to ease the boredom and loneliness of this fucking hotel, so…huff…I joined Dumblr and started to search for writing…that was…huff….purposeful…and that could fix me..”

No way in hell your crackfics could change this man...He must've come out of the womb like that. (or...however the hell he was made..)

"...I came across your first post years ago..huff...and fell in love with the way you wrote your love interest....huff...I knew you were talking about me when I wrote all those comments~"

You never looked at comments due to embarrassment...and you honestly didn't think anyone would even care to comment in the first place.

Okay, now it's getting creepy. You hope that by just turning back around and continuing to write maybe he'd shut up...You guess it's sorta your fault for striking up a conversation with the creep.

"All the other writers don't know shit about writing...huff...1k word counts...huff...long and complicated stories that don't make any fucking sense..."

There goes the rambles. You stop typing for a moment to process what the hell he just said. He either is really balls-deep into this fantasy of you being a perfect human...or he's just trying to fluff you up so you'll continue writing for him. He's really delusional, that's it. It's seriously hard to believe your crap was life-changing for Nick.

You softly reply, yet again praying that you didn't accidentally strike a chord with this guy. He stares you down, and even if you aren't looking back at him, you can still feel the burning of his eyes on the back of your head.

Oh, it's highly probable. He gets so emotional over the tiniest bit of anything, so...He just doesn't need too many words to evoke a reaction...It checks out because you also like to write a straight-to-the-point sorta piece.

abdjjdsjndbf honestly thank you for asking im kinda flattered hahaha. i have some vague lore about her relationship to boothill but it's been slowly taking shape. a while before boothill was teased i had actually started work on what's basically a trailblaze mission concept on a new planet. it's called Aloniir, and it's a desert planet, but i personally think that the trope of desert planets being barren, miserable hellscapes is overplayed, so it's actually quite rich with life. i have a whole document with details but ill spare you from most of it (unless you're somehow interested lol). i have a whole food chain planned and everything, it's kind of absurd bsbdbdnejabsbb

anyway i have a huge Thing about characters that experience monstrous transformations so that's the gimmick for all the characters from this planet. im still kind of on the fence about the exact details but the idea is that the planet went through a period of disaster eons ago, but via some kind of elation influence (direct influence from the aeon or from a stellaron, im not sure yet) they had a sort of insane rng element added to their genetics which allowed them to survive the harsh conditions with their various adaptations. they all have crazy unique powers and stuff. i have some ocs in the works but that would be in another post if anybody is interested lol

the current plotline im going with for my s/i is technically an au of the original concept for the world where the ipc yoinks them all up for Human Experimentation Purposes to learn how to utilize their biology for potential gains. (i have one character that's functionally immortal because she heals so quickly for example, which would obviously be of great value to them.)

boothill finds my s/i in a test tube on an ipc ship that he's raiding and realizes that she's probably a prisoner. he lets her out and she realizes that she.. kinda sorta has nowhere to go - no connections, no purpose, no real goals other than freeing the rest of her people; she can't go back home because of the ipc occupation, and she'd just get snatched right back up anyway. so she helps boothill escape, contemplating all the while, and it all culminates into the two of them being forced to jump off the ship to escape "by the wing," so to speak.

after they land, she asks if she can accompany him for a while, just to get her feet on the ground. he's hesitant, naturally, but he figures it can't hurt if it's just for a little while. turns out that they work very, very well together, and it's nice to have someone to bail him out if he bites off a bit more than he'd like to chew on his own. tale as old as time lol.

power-wise her abilities are sorta still nebulous in my head rn.. she has a regular fleshy dragon form and the skeletonized one from the original art. her skin burns up in the transition (think the animation after dragons die in skyrim) bc i think the mental image is cool as hell. i wanna give her some kinda additional abilities but i havent come up with anything yet !! heres some messy stuff for you

But seriously, I can't believe how many people actually enjoy my fun lil drabbles (wdym 30k is a drabble---) like fr ppl tysm for enjoying the shit i cook like *blushes* I'm so happy we can all be fucked up freaks together UwU. others may look at us an think we're pineapple pizza, but they're ignorant. in reality they are the pineapple pizza. and yes anon who keeps sending me pineapple pizzas to my house (fabricated) i will come for you, I'm just very busy baking pineapple pizzas to stuff you with when your time comes. the grim reaper thinks it's a bit excessive, but i don't, so that means i am a perfectly reasonable and sane person.

I'd been wanting to write yandere fic for awhile, but never really did anything until last year on the good ol' march 23rd when aventurine made me simp so hard that i finally wrote yan fics. and since then tbh its a bit silly to say but life kinda feels a lot better knowing that I've a community to share these lil drabbles (stop calling them drabbles oml) with, yknow. its the small things <3

Hellooo! A while back, I made an ask thanking you for changing my opinion on showtime! At the time, I almost didn't send it cause I was being paranoid.

But now thanks to caffeine, I feel no fear!

So tell me, what made you prefer showtime as your otp other than.. Idk, buttonblossom or.. Jax x Ragatha (don't remember the ship name. Bunnydoll?)

Well, it all comes down to Caine himself. He's my favorite character in the show. It all started when I was just looking for Caine art back when I first entered the fandom, I couldn't get enough of him.

At the time, the only Caine ship that really stuck out to me was Showtime, so I latched onto it in a pseudo-self-insert kind of way, but by the time I started writing fanfiction, I had familiarized myself with Pomni as a character and I thought.....this could work.

I'm a sucker for AI-falls-in-love or becomes more human because of someone who cares enough. Think Detroit Become Human. (Loved that game) After episode 2, when Pomni shows her full capacity for empathy to an AI such as Gummigoo, that really sent my synapses firing about "What if she did that with Caine?"

So I wrote my first Showtime oneshot, "Creative Liberty" and haven't looked back. Technically I wrote the first few chapters of Raceway first, but that was when I was still familiarizing myself with the characters. I consider Creative Liberty my first real showtime fic.

While Showtime is most certainly my favorite, it's not my only ship. I'm a "multi-shipper" So my brain can easily move around the characters and pair them up in a lot of different ways that I still enjoy. That's why on my main blog I tell people "all ships are welcome." Even the crack ones lol.

Because like Goosworx herself said, "Ship whoever you want, just stop attacking each other!" We're here to have fun! Thank you for your question. This might have been a bit more in depth than you were expecting, but I wanted to answer honestly.

Ooo Some Tiddy bits about my self insert Tah'nyem Ra ?

Where to start?

(⚠️TW: These excerpts will reference sex work, exploitation, and abuse! Nothing too graphic or in depth but do proceed with cation!⚠️)

Tah'nyem or as you all know her colloquially "Tahny" is the daughter of gangster and flesh work entrepreneur Nyem'tok Ra. They hail from a planet I created called Ga'hah, you can call them Ga'haiians.

I made my own world to work with cause I'm not actually that well versed in Star Wars Canon and though it safer to make something that can exist in parallel. Ga'hah is a pleasure planet. Tidal locked, it's night side is a tourist hotspot full of casinos, bordellos, a race track and other entertainment based venues. Despite sex work being open on the planet, the atmosphere is generally family friendly, somewhat like modern day Vegas. (More on Ga'hah Here and Here)

A big reason Ga'hah is the way it is was so that Tahny could hail from a culture free of sexual shame. There's no purity culture on Ga'hah and their base relationship model are polycule clans rather than pairing off into couples. Originally. That's where the day half of the planet comes into play.

The Elites of the sun locked city of Sohn are chasers of status and influence. After a long time of trading with The Republic they started to adopt their ideas of power structure. The Sohnese introduced a cass system based on blood purity and started segregating power with political marriages in a more classical "Republic" fashion.

So now you have Tahny. Her father is a full blooded Ga'haiian who worked his way up through the ranks by underhanded means. At face value he's a man of the people. Using bordellos to gain wealth, his exploitation of the working class is disguised behind a veil of mutual benefit- his workers are paid well and are cared for so anyone on the outside looking in is bound to agree. He married a wealthy Coruscanti socialite to further his own influence, making Tah'nyem a half breed.

Half Blooded Sohnese are considered a lower cass, property to be traded and controlled. Tahny is to be bound to the highest bidder at her father's discretion.

She tends to ignore this expectation of hers, living on Coruscant through secondary school she's allowed more freedom than usual.

Nyem'tok took control of the Red Light district on Coruscant using his wife's money and influence. He put Tahny in charge of the club at the top of The Red Spire, known as The Red Crown (Think the Moulin Rouge of Coruscant.) Taking over the club at 18 she's the youngest in the field. To keep the "Ja'hans" in line she's developed a rather ruthless demeanor. The girl is viscous and has inflicted some damage protecting those in her charge.

She's highly trained in the arts of the field. On top of the technical skills of massage and uh...other, she can control her heart rate and body temperature to mimic arousal. She's resistant to Jedi mind tricks and her pain tolerance is abnormally high.

Tahny is a reflection of my past in the child pageantry industry. No, not sex work, lol, but the parallels are there. On the outside looking in I had a charmed childhood. Ballet, Martial Arts, Horse Back Riding, Vocal and Walking lessons etc etc, but it had it's price. I was a source of income for my family- the cash prizes for pageants and talent shows were major windfalls. I spent most of my childhood practicing "Or else!"

With my activities and neurodivergence I didn't socialize with other children much. We moved around a lot and it sort of affected my ability to connect to others.

Tahny shares my discomfort, in a position of being on the outside looking in, unable to relate to others since our life experiences are so different. The experience of loving a parent that only saw their child as a means to an end. She has commitment issues, attachment issues and can be a little manic when faced with her own weaknesses.

LIMEY MY FRIEND LIMEY 🥺🫶🫶 you're so so sweet and sorry for not getting to this sooner, it's bcs you inspired me! I actually had drawn up a design for Rebels!Kepler, but it was a bit old so I decided to redraw it

So here it is, the first colored pic is 31-year-old Rebels era Kep, and the sketch is of an 18-year-old Kep I did for the Inquisitor!Brea AU but I decided to include it because if you just add the scars he'd retain from being wounded in the escape from Order 66 that'd be what he looks like at that age regardless! (Some more info under the cut, warning for EXTREME angst)

After fleeing the temple with Brea, they eventually both reunite with Rex! And I literally didn't even think of it until just now, but their reunion is probably a very bittersweet one on Kepler's part 0_0 Technically they'd encounter the bad batch first, and I imagine Kep has a...really strong reaction to seeing troopers again after Order 66. He isn't killed in this AU but he IS badly wounded, and disabled for the rest of his life, so I feel as much as Brea panics when seeing them he has a full blown attack that she has to bring him down from.

Eventually he understands that clone force 99 are cool, and they're starting to unravel the mystery of Order 66 but that doesn't mean it'd be easy for him to adjust to having Rex around. They used to be so close, Kep admired him as a male role model more than anyone, but now he flinches every time Rex's hand even brushes his blaster, even though Rex would never ever hurt him now. 😭😭😭

It takes a lot of time for them all to start to recover from the trauma it caused them. But eventually they DO start to feel like the family they always thought they would be, especially when Rex and Brea's first child is born, Kaiza! I really gotta draw more family stuff, but I think when Kep holds her for the first time it finally solidifies in his mind that this is his new life, his true family, and for the first time in a long time (and at least for now) he is safe...

Until ofc Rex leaves for milk (joopas) and doesn't come back but that's another thing entirely 😂😂😂

What was your first fandom you were in? Did you make any art/fanfic for it?

Ooooooh lemme think…technically I’ve been watching studio ghibli since I was like 5 and Lord of the Rings since I was like 6 so those would be the first, but since I grew up with those they felt just like a natural part of my life, so I’m going to go with my first hyper-fixation fandoms instead, which were Merlin and Sherlock. I got into them when I was in Jr High when both were still releasing (Sherlock only had one season at the time). I never did any fanfic or art of either of them, but I dressed up as Sherlock Holmes for Halloween, got Sherlock Holmes books, starting watch the RDJ Sherlock Holmes movies, had the “I AM SHERLOCKED” phone screen, lots of Benedict Cumberbatch pictures, lot of Sherlock and Merlin Pinterest board stuff, etc.

I did, however, make Doctor Who fan art, which was my very next fandom hyper-fixation. I think I was a freshman in high school when I made this in honor of the 50th anniversary. I also did a Star Trek/Doctor Who/self-insert fanart...but it's making me cringe just looking at it, so maybe I'll just keep that one to myself...

OH! I also started a Doctor Who Fanfic on Wattpad when I was around 18... It was called the Time Convict, and it is one of the two fan fictions I've ever written. Though I've very recently been thinking about trying my hand at fan fiction again.

👑 What is this AU about?

This AU focuses around a self-centered cat named ‘Mal’ who is interviewed by Y/N (you guys) to discuss his envious rivalry with Petey, which may or may not turn into a love-hate relationship. -wink wink-

💛What timeline does the AU take place?

The story mainly takes place right in between the events of Dog Man Unleashed and Dog Man: A Tale of Two Kitties. So it’s kind of like a side story but one that will have a impact on the regular story.

👑Which is your favorite Dog Man book?

I want to say Dog Man and Cat Kid, it was the second book I’ve ever read from the series and it has been my favorite ever since.

💛Will the original characters appear in the AU?

Yes, but only for a short amount of time since the story is mainly revolved around Mal, Y/N, Petey, and Dog Man.

👑Does Lil’ Petey exist in this AU?

Well…sorta, but not really. The plan for this AU was to make it Mal’s idea to create a clone in the upcoming events of Tale of Two Kitties, not Petey’s. But instead of just his DNA sample, he uses a bit of Petey’s as well. So Lil’ Petey sorta exists here, but technically goes by a different name with a different look.

💛What inspired you to make the AU?

Well, growing up, I used to read these all the time in class while the teacher was instructing. In fact my discovery of Dog Man came from a bunch of Captain Underpants books I also used to read in my free time. One day I got bored and decided to make a Dog Man OC, which looks way different from what you’re seeing on the top. I didn’t want the OC looking like a recolor of Petey the Cat so I decided to scrap it for good.

After making a few changes to his fur color, whiskers, and throwing in a crown accessory, I deemed it approval for storytelling. The art style wasn’t hard to replicate though there was a few flaws in trying to get the mouth shape correct, so I looked for references and finally got it right.

Now inspiration wise, I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if Petey had a rival that wasn’t Dog Man, what if he was a feline just like him? And that’s where I came up with the idea to make a entitled feline who wants to out do Petey every chance he got to become king of the cats.

👑Is Dog Man a main character, or a side character?

Sadly he’s not the main focus here, despite the title saying so. Dog Man is still the main protagonist, however the story is told by a different perspective this time, aka Mal’s. Think of it like a POV, every character has one eventually.

🌷When does your self-insert come into the story? Is your selfship established before the events of the source?

So. My self-insert (Max) is very connected in the story before he ever truly meets Jack— he lives on the planet Jack is trying to colonize and is the only person who seems to see that Jack himself is a person (and later uses that to his advantage, exploits Jack's weaknesses and saves everyone cus of it)! Throughout actually line 90% of the game, Max would just be a hippie living on Pandora who sends angry emails to Jack (which all go straight to spam). The selfship gets established after canon, really. Technically. Max ends up diverting the story plot so Jack doesn't die, and they truly start dating sometime after all that would've happened!!

🍀 Do You have any other scenes in mind? Angsty, Tender, Funny, Etc.

Omg I have a lot !! I've rped most the ones I have in my brain with friends. A big one I always think of is at this weird point in their relationship where their situationship develops a little more, as one does, and Max starts wanting to actually connect more with Jack and get to know him. Jack is so shut off, so emotionally reserved; Max loves him for his abrasive, dorky, crude humour and personality, but he wants to know the sensitive side of him as well. He wants to know what secrets Jack's hiding, what makes him cry, the things that get to him. He wants to love him completely.

But Jack doesn't exactly trust it. Max was actively stalking/collecting information on Jack to use against him for a while, how does he know that won't happen again? Plus, he's been so emotionally reserved for so long after his wife's death. He's just supposed to open up to a Pandoran of all people?

But basically, Max is frustrated and not having it, cus it's also having him think about how Jack is a horrible person that caused him so much pain. Why would he want to love that? But he can't choose who his heart wants.

And so kinda in some sort of desperation, Max starts a little painting project while they're still rocky. It's a portrait of Jack :3. And it's so cute, it's making him look like a hero without having to shun Pandorans (like almost every heroic portrait of Jack seems to do). And Jack just !! Becomes his muse with art !!

Eventually they work it out.. but WAWAAW!!

Plus their whole second meeting, which GOD I rped it with my friend and it was so good. I can't say much about it on here, but basically they had a very transactional sugar type relationship at that point, and mix that with a bunch of feels. SHHAEHHHDHDBNN
