Ready for some wing testing?

This weekend McLaren will try to get some data from different wings to see which one works better:

- Lando will try a less loaded wing (similar to Ferrari, our main competitor to the WCC);

- Oscar will try a more loaded one (similar to Mercedes, known to be dominant on this circuit).

More mumbling about it under the brackets!

It's worth noting that this track allows overtakes in turns 5-6: which are slow speed corners, aka hard braking, aka require downforce/weights/good suspension.

While the most difficult turns are 10-11-12 because they not only require hard braking but the braking happens while a lot of lateral load is still on the car/driver from the previous turn (The risk here is to lockup the rears while braking if the driver doesn't modulate the brake correctly and if the car is not evenly weighted/doesn't have enough downforce).

In general, this track requires a lot of stability from the car, surpassing the necessity of aero, that's why they are trying different setups for balancing downforce and mechanical traction/suspension while still trying to extract the maximum aero possible. (Hence the different wings).

That said, I think they decided to put Oscar on a more loaded car as he usually struggles with track limits on less loaded setups and, therefore, will be able to provide more data on a more stable car.

(And, by giving him the most likely car that they will end up using during race/quali will also help him practice the circuit more)

I also think they are just trying experimenting things with Lando and see if they can do some ✨magic✨ with a less loaded setup. (Not so extreme as they did in Vegas but something)

(it would be funny if I got it all wrong, we will see)

I'm also yapping because:

1. I wanted to know what y'all think about it;

2. I'm starting to distrust some McLaren fans and I just KNOW that some people will be commenting unfortunate things tomorrow.

That's why I want to make it already clear that none of the drivers will be penalised by the choice of trying different wings for the FP. (Like... WTF?! It's FP...)

Also, it's worth remembering that FP is just testing components/setups, no one cares if one is significantly slower than the other as they are probably following different programs for different data harvesting. (Or just plain sandbagging).

Leave this kind of discussion for the quali (if needed).

Do we need to start manifesting for this weekend? Pray for some ancient god for luck?

Annabeth would be fucking furious, and Jason would be like super annoyed aswell bc. dude. What was the point of interrupting such a great nerdy yapping session, like, I was enjoying that. You killed the vibe.

Legacy Day, as told by archived mirror net post's

The goal of the Revamp au is to take what already existed in the series and pull it towards its darker or more logical conclusions, and as such, Legacy Day and the resulting consequences end up playing out a lot more chaotic here than in the original series. For starters, most of the parents are there, and the entire thing is not only being broadcast across normal mirror television, which was forced to cut out after Ravens rebellion, but also Blondie's livestream, which crucially didn't cut out after Raven refused to sign and thus captured the aftermath. The news discusses the 'Legacy Day Fiasco' (as it had been dubbed) furiously, and social media spends weeks debating if Raven went up to the roof afterwards to sic her dragon onto the crowd or to truly ... free herself from her destiny, as Headmaster Grimm seems to believe. Apple and others who signed the book prior had to be quarantined for a full day as Grimm and other sorcerers checked them to make sure the tearing of the book didn't have any negative magical impact on them, which fueled conspiracy theories for a good few hours that they were dead or had "poofed". Several of the parents refused to leave the school afterwards, and a closed-door meeting was held for nearly ten hours over night at the school including every monarch in attendance to the ceremony. All in all, a day to remember indeed.

ive been meaning to make this post for a few weeks, and now that Lena's "I am not a wealthy woman, certainly not compared to your own family," to Gwen seems to have put a spotlight on it, here's my lil suggestion;

Elias Bouchard is a ministerial employee/politician, and the OIAR falls under his responsibilities.

Gwen's Bouchard surname already heavily suggests that she comes from a wealthy family, like Elias did in tma. Alice's "Let me guess, fancy gowns, champagne, bathing in the blood of the poor, that sort of thing," comment in ep3 makes that not just independently wealthy, but high class as well.

Then with Alice accusing Gwen of (benefitting from) nepotism in the first episode, it makes sense that someone in her family has a powerful position somewhere in the OIAR hierarchy.

All those are easy to notice, but one thing I haven't seen many posts about - in that same episode, Collin and Alice have this conversation:

ALICE: [...] Is it an app yet? Do we have a minimalist logo? I assume you’ve finished all the social features?

COLIN: Don't you start. I swear I'm going to shove a cable down that prick's throat, pull it out his ministerial anus and floss him to death.

and later, with Teddy-

TEDDY: Colin, mate, you know you’re never getting out of here.

COLIN: Christ, don’t say that.

TEDDY: Even if his nibs lets you off the hook, which he won’t, you couldn’t bring yourself to just leave.

Based on that, we can conclude that somewhere up the OIARs hierarchy, there's some managerial asshole who insists on keeping Colin around (for the app?).

So, combined with what we know from OG Elias in tma, and Gwens nepotism comments, until proven otherwise, that asshole is Elias to me <3
