I realized this morning that the #teamvandyke workouts really contribute a good sense of well-being for me. A chance to bond and have fun while we train. Today’s workout was special, as it was a send off to our teen champ @lawghlin, before he heads off to Boston College. To understand how much this team has meant to him, please read his message to us: Hey team, I know we’re all big strong men here so I apologize in advance for getting sappy, but I just wanted to share some words of gratitude with y’all before the workout tomorrow... i can’t thank y’all enough for motivating, mentoring, and supporting me so much in the past year. Before I started working with Dan and Clint over a year ago, I lacked necessary guidance and direction not only in fitness but in life as a teenager. Ive always been a good student and generally a good kid, but I had no long term goals to work toward, and I often felt isolated and lost as a result of not participating in high school sports, performing arts, etc. You guys changed everything for me. In this team I found camaraderie and a sense of purpose outside of high school. Knowing that I could come to you guys for fitness advice or a good laugh was awesome. its the little things like spotting each other on the bench or cracking jokes about preworkout that makes this team so great.
