i got told i should post these so people can see them. i hope you like these designs i did, they're for a pokemon AU where the trainers are pokemon and their teams are members of the facility they work at/their friends :D im still unsure if i should keep charon an abomasnow or not

once upon a time i wanted to draw the pokebosses all as cats and i finally got around to finishing it 😼 i like the idea of interpreting them as regular #normal cats.... some thoughts and hcs for them below the cut bc its fun to stink about

giovanni- classic tuxedo tomcat. well taken care of but spends a lot of time prowling around... kind of the leader of the local outdoor cat community. social and charming but will always win a fight if challenged

maxie- very vocal siamese... usually stays indoors but occasionally goes out + likes to roll around in dirt. standoffish and doesnt like to be pet + gets into fights constantly with the annoying tabby next door

archie- scruffy long haired tabby who spends most of his time outdoors, esp by rivers to stare at the fish... very friendly to everyone but likes picking fights with the stuck-up siamese cat next door

cyrus- exclusively indoor tiny sphynx. glares at all the outdoor cats through the window on his tall perch

ghetsis- fluffy male tortoiseshell. nobody knows where he lives, seen outside a lot but always well-groomed and well-fed. charming so you let your guard down and then he swats when you least expect it

lysandre- massive purebred maine coon... extremely pampered and only gets the royal treatment from his owners of course. rarely goes outside and is grossed out by all the outdoor cats and their dirty coats

guzma- huge scruffy tabby, rare ghost coloration. escaped his home young and became the leader of a group of feral stray cats... aggressive and REFUSES to get caught by humans without putting up a fight

lusamine- purebred ragdoll... very fancy show cat part of a line of them- never ever goes outside but likes chatting with the outdoor cats through her custom built catio screen. always showing off her kittens

rose- purebred british shorthair, very friendly but out of touch and gets picked on by the other cats due to his pampering and rarely going outdoors. skittish and picky about his food

colress- russian blue. nobody knows if hes a well taken care of stray or an outdoor housecat, but travels far and wide and never stays put for long. the cats think he and ghetsis might be from the same household(?) but nobody knows the truth

As far as a story goes for Archie it taps into my head canon that he was mentored by Mr. Briney when he was younger and in this au followed more in his footsteps and became a sailor, and eventually captain, instead of a pirate.

Idk why Maxie’s a cowboy other then if Archie’s a pirate in canon then Maxie is a cowboy in this swap scenario

If these were Sygna suits Maxie would have a mudsdale and Archie would have a pelipper

You stared at the tiny 'CAUTION' warning written in bold, red letters for a heartbeat too long, then slipped the box open. You felt scared, almost dizzy, but you also felt like you had earned the right to do this. As you grabbed a match, Moon lurched forward. He only moved maybe half a step forward before your glare stopped him. He twitched, the metal of his endoskeleton grating, at the abrupt brake. His hands shrieked against the slick tiled floor, then he stood up, canted awkwardly to one side, the same way he always was. It almost would have been an endearing trait, a cute habit, if it hadn't been for the plastic face attached to it. You stared one another down for several seconds. "... Don't." He hissed, like he was chastising a child who was trying to get into the knife drawer. Like you didn't know what you were doing. You ignored him, turning back to the match between your fingers. Your hands were cold, chapped, the nails brittle and chewed at the edges. You had never had a chance. How cruel was that? "You. Don't. Want. To do that." Moon hissed, quieter this time, voice pitched like he was talking you down from a high place. You met his eyes. He was smiling, as ever, but it looked like a grimace. "What makes you think you know anything about what I want?" You turned your attention to the matchstick, staring at it in mounting despair before turning it between your fingertips. You struck it against the box once, then twice, and it lit almost immediately- warm and brilliant and almost too bright to look at. You glanced back at Moon. He looked... scared. But it could only be the light, you thought bitterly. "After all, machines are incapable of feeling." You turned your hand over, and let the match fall. [...]

The adaptations of/canonical stories of games with multiple playable protagonists should focus on both. I adore Yokai Watch but the anime did Katie so fucking dirty and, by proxy, her and Nate's friendship. In the games, they feel like genuine friends who run in the same circle. But not in the anime, and I'm upset because they totally could've had them BOTH be the protagonists who are given watches and made to interact with the world and each other in a unique way to the games but instead Katie's just this girl Nate has a crush on with a tiring joke about him being average. They don't even feel like friends in the show, it feels like they have mutual friends in Bear and Eddie and that's how they run in the same circles. Boo.

Been working on designs for my fanfic (that I'll probably be rewriting I don't like how I characterized them).... fish archie.

He's based on a Demanson's Cichlid :3 which are. really difficult to draw for some reason

More under the cut!!! Fish rambling and lore stuff. Plus fish maxie that I am currently too lazy to color or otherwise finish

Archie is currently 37 years old in this au (unless I change it. LOL)

Him, along with Matt and Shelly (and maybe other members of team aqua in the rewrite. idk), live in the wreckage of a ship fairly deep underwater, choosing to stay as far away from humans as possible. In contrast to this, Maxie and his group take more inspiration from humans in their little settlement thingy, choosing to take scraps of metal and other things to build their home.

Most merfolk live in groups called pods, in the rework of the fanfic I'll elaborate more on this but. I'm lazy right now. Sorry.

Anyways Archie is generally more like??? adventurous and stuff, and him and the other members of his pod are like. really tight-knit. They're also generally more muscular than the members of Maxie's group, choosing to hunt fish & other prey using their own strength and speed, whereas the magmas use traps and stuff.

Also. Maxie has a collection of little human trinkets and stuff. Most of the space in his den/house thing is just like. trinkets. He also has a very unfriendly relationship with dolphins. I admittedly haven't done much with it in the original since it's... y'know... one chapter at the moment... but ill do more in the rewrite i prommy.

ANYWAYS!!!! Fish beam blast MAXIE

He's a common mudskipper. I love common mudskippers and just mudskippers in general really. Top tier fish.

He doesn't have glasses because. reasons involving the fact that he lives in the ocean.

However. I plan on giving him glasses eventually, he'll probably find a pair and think "Oh joy!! A new human invention I have not yet seen! Joyous day!!" and he decides to constantly wear them even though they make his vision like, ten times Worse.

Goodbye for now. I will inevitably post more Fish later. like when i finish the maxie design. LOL!!
