I find it so weird when people think that the reason you prefer Jess for Rory and as a personal preference for yourself is because you are attracted to unavailable men. 🤔 I hear this opinion a lot and it's just weird to me. I have been in the same relationship for the last 8 years and is very available. I love Jess the most because of how much he grows, and learns from his errors. I love their connection and how he pushes Rory to be the best version of herself. I love that he owns up to his mistakes and feels bad about his mistakes and instead of gaslighting Rory he changes his behavior and tries to do better. I love how Jess and Rory inspire each other and motivate each other. I love how despite having shitty circumstances in life he turns it around and makes it positive. I love how instead of minimizing Rory to be his mistress he waits until she is ready and is there for her as a friend without any strings, he is there for her no matter if they are together or not. His love for her is unconditional and while he wasn't perfect his love for her is so genuine and you can feel that. I am also a sucker for best friends to lovers and pining but that's another subject. It's just a weird take I've seen some people have, just because we like Jess best doesn't mean we want unavailable men there is so much more to it than that.

PSA: Dean punching Sam after Meg was exorcised in 2x14 was not a cute or funny thing. Sam had just gone through the harrowing and horrifying experience of being possessed, and the first thing that happens after he's freed is having the person he loves and trusts the most in the world punch him in the face. Face punching is nothing to sneer at. You can kill someone by punching them in the face, even once. Snap their neck, or break a bone and drive it into their brain. Probably other things. It was a horrible thing for Dean to do.

I saw someone say "people only like Jess because he was a toxic bad boy" 🙄 He was literally the least toxic of her boyfriends in my opinion but what do I know. Was he a perfect boyfriend? No, but toxic is a far stretch. Just say you don't understand his character. Jess was a character that grew up with a bunch of trauma with parents who didn't want him and was used to people around him just discarding him so when he had two people who did care about him he didn't know what to do with it. He had no example of a healthy relationship at all and his neglectful mother constantly has abusive men in and out of their lives. Jess went through a lot but he overcame all of that and turned his shitty situation into a positive one. He encourages Rory to grow and be her best self and vice versa she does the same for him. He became less angry, he learned how to communicate better, he learned how to show up for those he loves and he continued to be a present figure in both of their lives, and was there for them in whatever ways they needed. He always had Rory's best interest at heart, and truly loved her more than anything.

Jess was not a "bad boy" he was literally just a dork that wanted to read books and watch corny movies with Rory. It's funny that he was supposed to be the "bad boy" but has the least amount of bad boy traits.

Dean never getting over Rory isn't an excuse for the way he treated Lindsay. If he knew he was still in love with Rory he never should have married Lindsay in the first place. Dean smear campaigned her to Rory in order to make her think Lindsay wasn't being a good enough wife when really she just wanted to make him happy. He then proceeds to keep acting in stalker like behaviors with Rory and begins checking up on her and even tries to tell her she can't see Jess being all possessive over her. First of all Dean you are married and you do not get to say who Rory speaks to. She can see Jess or talk to him all she wants! He then goes on to tell Rory THAT HIS MARRIAGE WAS OVER when it wasn't and lied to her and manipulated her into bed. He then goes home and we see he is still with Lindsay and he begins to gaslight her and emotionally abuse her because he was guilty for what he did. There was no excusing any of his actions. Lindsay did not deserve that. He was a terrible husband to her and I don't understand how there is any justification for his actions at all or for the way he treated her.

Scott Summers

The kids have a dumb nickname for him that he only tolerates because he wants them to think he’s cool (none of them think that)

Now hear me out. He’s the drivers Ed teacher. (Yes this extends to the X-jet) I just think it fits him- I can’t even explain it

Every-time a student asks him to sponsor a club he just says yes. He ends up with a variety of random clubs to sponsor

Rouge

The kids are afraid of her at first but love her by the end

She teaches auto-mechanics and gym

She really wants to coach some kind of sports team but hasn’t had the time for it

Remy Lebeau

The kids love him. They trust him and think he’s cool. None of the adults do.

He teaches sex-Ed (canonically) but I think he’d also teach home ec. He loves cooking and spent the entire krakoa era househusbanding- he’d love it.

He really wants to run a cooking club but can’t get enough students to join

Kurt Wagner

In cannon most students think he’s creepy but it’s a school for mutants so fuck that. They love him in my heart. They just also think his jokes are stupid and he’s cringe.

He started out teaching German but got bored of it pretty quickly

I could’ve see him as a kinder garten teacher. He loves working with the little ones and they love him. He’s definitely one of those teachers who has a classroom theme every year that they overdecorate for.

If he’s not a kindergarten teacher he’d do theater. Man would go all out for a Shakespearean play,

He also runs a ton of extracurriculars- baseball (which he canonically loves), Bible study, and gymnastics. He really wants a sword fighting club but was rejected because it was too dangerous.

Colossus

He has a gaggle of kids that hang out in his room during lunch

He teaches art class (I’m fairly certain that’s already cannon)

He runs an art club and does the school musical every year, which he runs like the goddamn navy

Kitty pryde

Tries to stay hip with the kids and lets them call her by her first name.

She teaches any tech related class or club you could think of. Even if only one student is interested she will beg for it to be on the curriculum

I don’t think she’d actually enjoy being a teacher all that much. Maybe later on she’d go on to be a dean or social worker, and much later the headmistress.

She runs a robotics club that she’s been trying to bypass anti mutant laws to bring to state competitions every year. She also runs the Jewish student union
